This is why the higher skill players hate this game but the lower skill players love it. Every aspect of its design is catered to the lower skill player.

The biggest problem with the current design of races in D&D is that they combine race and culture into one
When you select a race in 5th edition, you get a whole load of features. Some of these features are purely explained by the biology of your race:
- Dragonborn breath attacks
- Dwarven poison resistance
- All movement speeds and darkvision abilities
While others are clearly cultural:
- All languages and weapon proficiencies
- The forest gnome's tinkering
- The human's feat
Yet other features could debatably be described in either manner, or as a combination of both, depending on your perspective:
- Tieflings' spellcasting
- Half-orc's savage attacks
In the case of ability score increases, there are a mixture of these. For example, it seems logical that an elf's dexterity bonus is a racial trait, but the half-elf's charisma seems to come largely from the fact that they supposedly grow up in a mixed environment.
The problem, then, comes from the fact that not everyone wants to play a character who grew up in their race's stereotypical culture. In fact, I suspect a very high perce

It's really annoying how they're letting cheaters design their game..
I mean I get it, and I get it's near impossible to fix the huge cheating problem. But it sucks that so many mechanics keep getting changed simply due to stop cheaters.

10 year Mac user making the switch. AMD build for graphic design/music production workstation with 144hz 1440p gaming/streaming abilities.
Hey guys. I'm a long time Mac user who is finally making the switch. My 2015 iMac 21.5" is beginning to show its limitations with CPU bottlenecks when using Logic Pro, and occasional holdups on Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign and I wanted to get away from Apple this time around, as well as break into some PC gaming for the first time.
Here is my build:
I've spent a ton of time researching and trying to find a compatible build that is versatile and powerful for my needs. I'm kind of just jumping into this feet first and admittedly there are a bunch of gaps in my knowledge, so I'm hoping to get feedback on whether this build is viable or suggested.
If there are some parts you feel could be swapped for cheaper alternatives or compromises that would be more cost effective that would be great. The current list is $2983.38 CAD +tax which is pretty steep, but I'm also hoping this rig lasts me so I don't mind making a decent investment. Keep in mind

4e Mechanics/Styles/Design Choices That Never Should Have Been Cut
Most of the time, when I'm in a discussion about a specific weak point in 5e, I think about something I've read in 4e that solves that issue, and never got used or ported over in 5e's design process. I only started playing D&D with 5e, so I didn't actually experience the "4e hate" that many of you did, so I have the advantage of being able to dig into 4e's rules and design without the backpack full of baggage... and as a DM, I pull from 4e a LOT. The numbers might be wonky compared to 5e, but a lot of the underlying design in the same, and the more I dig into it, the more I see really great things that were left on the cutting floor, not in favour of good "design", but because of the 4e hate. I'm convinced that the move from 3.5 to 4th was just too much too fast, and that if 4th was released NOW, it would have a much better reception, and if/when a 5.5 (or 6e) is released, they're going to be pulling from much of those things.
So, what I want to know from all of y'all is: what are

Given the relative simplicity of bolt-action rifles, could bolt-action rifles have been produced earlier, IE, 1800 or 1700 if they theoretically had the designs? Or was the limitation materials? IE, not advanced enough material engineering, or could they do it,
[This is for a worldbuilding project of a scenario where a modern guy gets teleported to a fantasy world but he's an engineer and knows a lot of stuff, doing it for a friend's 5e D&D campagin, and just want to see real-world feasibility before factoring magiks]
watching this video on the fundementals of small-arms, the bolt-action rifle seems very simple and easily understandable, me without any knowledge on guns now understand how a bolt-action works with this one 10 minute video, and it uses components that should have been able to be manufactured in the 1700/1800's, so theoretically, could a european civilziation have produced bolt-action rifles instead of breachloaders or muskets, much earlier? It seems more complex systems like lever-action pre-dated bolt action, and seemed to be much more complex?
was the limiting factor simply not thinking of the design? and could they theore

I absolutely love the design of the PS5.
It looks so cool and futuristic. And it's surely designed around the Cooling system. I personally love it and I don't get the hate. It's certainly better then a square black box. Love the Led lights next to the Vents. It doesn't look cheap. Can't wait for the complete breakdown.

If I am forced to do PVE to stay competetive in PVP there this is just a bad game design.
Pretty obvious thing, but this just saddens me everytime I come back to wow. I enjoy the time developing my toon but I just don't have the hours to put into grinding PVE content. It's very unfriendly for new/returning players and chase content you don't care about only to enjoy the other one. There is no need for PVE players to grind gear in PVP (beside one essence) even without it you are most likely fine. PVP players MUST do PVE content to get geared. As pvp player even if you grind BG you end up highly undergeared because the ilvl of items is much much lower than what you get from mythic dungeons.
