I'm in search for a job right now and a good majority of them don't include the range/amount of compensation that is being offered. Why? The job process is an exchange of services for compensation. Why do companies exclude this very important piece of information in the job description?? I need to make a suitable living, so why would I want to apply for you when I can't even determine if I'll be able to support myself? It's a waste of time when I apply then in the interview I find out the salary is trash. Also, asking before/during the interview is seen as rude too. They claim they want people who aren't motivated by money, but in reality, everything is about money.
I lost both my testicles due to being shy and not asking for treatment for torsion when I was 13/14. They now lie dead in my sack, they are approximate size of ear buds. Doctor said there is no harm in them lying there, but I am on testosterone for the rest of my life. I cannot produce any sperm in my ejaculate. This has made my life very hard and I dont date anyone for the fear of this. My confidence due to this is 0. How did you cope with this?
Edit : I have read each and every reply here. I had never talked about this to another soul. Only 2 people (my parents) know I have this problem and I just talked them about treatment, not the emotional baggage this leaves me with. Reading all the replies made me feel a lot lot better. I cant reply to everyone but I am really really thankful to all of you for replying. This increased my confidence alot.
For some recurring comments :
I have considered prosthetic balls, they put silicon balls in scrotum. Will get them in a year or two just to get the feel.
I get horny, I get erections. I have to take testosterone every 3 weeks, so 3 days after the injection is my peak horniness. If testosterone runs out of my body I dont produce any ejaculate, I get erections but they arent as stiff and no matter what I do I cant orgasm if I dont have testosterone.
Again thank you all, it was a really huge confidence boost.
PSA : NEVER IGNORE PAIN IN TESTICLES. RUN TO HOSPITAL THE MOMENT YOU FEEL IT. YOUR BALLS WILL DIE WITHIN 2-3 HRS IF THERE IS TORSION
An inaccurate description of the Parler hack was posted here 8 hours ago, and has currently received nearly a thousand upvotes and numerous awards. Update: Now, 12 hours old, it has over 1300 upvotes.
Unfortunately it's a completely inaccurate description of what went down. The post is confusing all the various security issues and mixing them up in a totally wrong way. The security researcher in question has confirmed that the description linked above was BS. ^((it has been updated with accurate information now)^)
TLDR, the data were all publicly accessible files downloaded through an unsecured/public API by the Archive Team, there's no evidence at all someone were able to create administrator accounts or download the database.
/u/Rawling has the correct explanation here. Upvote his post and send the awards to him instead.
It's actually quite disheartening to see false information spread around/upvoted so quickly just because it seems convincing at first glance. I've seen the same at TD/Parler, we have to be better than that! At least we're not using misinformation to foment hate, but still...
Misinformation is dangerous.
I'm a first year 6th grade teacher. We have a bunch of students who are chronically truant in every class. When we asked admin what could be done about it, they basically said "What have YOU been doing about it?" Um... that's not my job? At the beginning of the year, they asked us for a list of students not attending. We gave it to them, being told they would follow up. They didn't. Now it's our fault they didn't follow up and our fault these kids aren't attending class? I have students that no teacher in the 6th grade has ever met - how is it MY JOB to get them in school???
To many, Anne Boleyn, in her dark headpiece and iconic 'B' necklace, is among the most recognizable Tudor images. In reality, this portrait, likely painted decades after her death, may be completely inaccurate. But why is Anne's true appearance lost to history?
I assume that most people reading this are at least somewhat familiar with the life of Anne Boleyn, so I’ll be brief. Born a nobleman's daughter, Anne spent time in France and the Netherlands before returning to England and serving as a lady-in-waiting for Catherine of Aragon, the first wife of Henry VIII. Lively and witty, Anne was a stark contrast to the pious Catherine, and she quickly charmed Henry. After several years and lots of trouble, Henry divorced Catherine and married Anne, to the shock and consternation of all. Anne was immensely unpopular, and after she failed to give Henry a son, his love for her began to fade. Eventually, eager to be rid of her, Henry had Anne arrested and sent to the Tower of London on a variety of almost certainly false charges, including adultery, incest, and treason. On May 19, 1536, Anne Boleyn was beheaded. Henry was betrothed to his next wife by the day after, and they wed ten days later.
Today, though no definitive portraits of Anne exist, we have a rough idea of what she might have looked like. Unfortunately, this is somewhat complicated by the number of contrasting accounts, especially those that have developed in later years.
We know for certain that Anne was slim, with dark, straight hair, and dark eyes. She had a prominent nose, a wide mouth, and olive skin. Interestingly, however, far from the way she’s usually depicted in modern adaptations, as an alluring temptress, many did not consider her a great beauty by the standards of the time, which favored pale plump blondes. Though some described her as “beautiful and with an elegant figure” or “the fairest and most bewitching of all the lovely dames of the French court,” others called her only “reasonably good looking” or even “not one of the handsomest women in the world.” Anne’s greatest source of attraction was her intelligence, grace, and sharp tongue; one courtier said as much, writing that “albeit in beauty she was to many inferior, but for behaviours, manners, attire and tongue she excelled them all.”
After Anne’s execution, however, descriptions began to change. If she had been despised in life, she was even more so in death, even with the ascension of her daughter... keep reading on reddit ➡
Thank you to the hundreds of people who commented, most of the advice was so useful. I might otherwise have been all accusatory and driven her away from me. Instead, after reading through all you wrote and thinking about it, I talked to her today. By now, the mark on her cheek has almost faded completely, but there is also evidence of a little bit of skin irritation like in a rash.
I went to her room, put an arm around her, gave her a kiss and said you know I've been open-minded and reasonable, but I don't think you've told me the full story about the night with your boyfriend. And I'm afraid without the full story, I can't let you see him again without my supervision.
After lots of hesitation, she became very uncomfortable. She explained how they had been experimental in the bedroom and, not to put too fine a point on it, she had asked him to slap her face during oral sex. She had asked to be hit hard and the mark on her face was a combination of that and skin irritation probably from her face's contact with his genitals.
You can see why this was an extremely uncomfortable conversation, but one I needed to have. She showed me his text messages from after asking multiple times a day if she was feeling better and the mark on her face had subsided, and they appeared to show genuine concern. In the last post, my instinct didn't believe her, but I do believe she's told the truth now.
It's obviously hard to hear all this and imagine my daughter in the bedroom like that, but given this happened in bed and not a slap in "real life", should I continue letting her see him?
“A subreddit dedicated for NBA news and discussion.” Apologies for being a pedantic English teacher, but the preposition most appropriate here would be “dedicated to NBA news and discussion.”
Think about this: when is, for example, a memorial dedicated FOR someone, rather than TO that person? Same w/ “committed to,” rather than “committed for.”
That’s it, my only contribution ever to this subreddit.
How can I tell which weapon is of what type? The description nor the stat table doesn't always indicate the weapon type. That info is quite often crucial when it comes to mods or sorties.
But there's more... Today's final stage sortie is to use sniper rifle. I typed "sniper" in the search field in the inventory and Miter popped out (a sawblade shooting weapon) - so I farmed two missing blueprints, waited 12 hrs for Miter to cook just to find out that IT'S NOT in fact a sniper rifle! Now I don't have enough time to cook another weapon of the desired type (after looking up "sniper rifles" on the internets beforehand, because tha't what we all should do, as it seems) before the sortie timer runs out.
Please devs - ADD WEAPON TYPE IN THE STAT TABLE

About 5 or 6 years ago I worked as a server at a small bar/ restaurant at the base of a really popular ski resort. The owner lived in an apartment above the bar and, like clockwork, every night around 7 he would start drinking with the regulars. Without going into too much detail, he would get quite nasty towards myself and the other servers. His wife would get mad at him and leave around 8 and not show back up until we closed around 2am. Usually he would finish a whole bottle of Jack and maybe some wine and if he decided more, he would try to reach into our back pockets to “search” for our tips to give to the bartender. (If you’re wondering why we didn’t quit, it’s because the area I lived in was VERY small, about 2,000 people, and there were barely any employment opportunities) Well it got to the point where we had to carry him up to bed or risk being fired. It was typically me and one other girl trying to help him up an old flight of stairs to his dark apartment and he would always try something. Arm over our shoulders trying to grab us, or “tripping” and grabbing our butts. For some stupid reason we let this go on for a few months (stupidly) but after he tried to get us to stay one night we all walked out. We reported it to the state board and they were shut down after reviewing footage and taking statements from everyone (including his now ex-wife). I just want to say to other young girls who are in the restaurant business that in NO WAY do you need to put up with this crap from anyone- your boss, your coworkers, or your customers. I wish I could go back and say this to my younger self but I’m hoping this helps at least one of you realize you deserve better and even if it seems like there aren’t other options, there are.
Lets go through what the “audio description” actually is.
Its not a description of the canon of the story. As in its not a literal narrator of the story as per the writers of the story.
It is what the name is, audio description, its there to audibly describe the visuals for visually impaired people.
Get it? There is no other way to describe what Evan Peters character looks like other than the Fox quicksilver because Marvel WANTS this to look like the Fox quicksilver. Hence why the Audio description describes it as Xmen Quicksilver.
Just try yourself, try and describe that scene in words any other way with the specific goal of eliciting the same reaction in visually impaired viewers as unimpaired viewers. Marvel wants people to recognise Evan peters and his clothes and associate to Xmen just be looking at him. How else would someone who cant see well get the same reaction other than straight up saying “its Xmen Quicksilver”
Remember this isnt Narration as per the actual canon of the story. Its a visual aid to describe the events of the scene.
No one here is disputing that it looks like the Fox quicksilver. What is being disputed is whether it is him? And the audio description is not the narrator of the story so it cant confirm that.
Link to the survey:
As stated in the title, I am a Masters of Social Work student at the University of Washington interested in how the COVID-19 pandemic has effected families with young children. The survey is short, 5-10 minutes, and asks some demographic questions, basic questions about your family, and about the impact that COVID-19 has had. It's been a difficult year for a lot of people and I feel that research in this area, especially for families with young children, is extremely important.
I truly appreciate anyone that participates in the survey and please feel free to DM me on Reddit or email me at the contact information provided at the end of the survey if you have any questions. I do not ask for any identifying information and all responses are confidential. I will be analyzing the data collected to complete a research paper examining any trends that emerge.
Again, thank you to all who take the time to share a bit about your family and your experience during these times.
Edit: Thank you to all who participated! I have officially closed the survey. The amount of responses exceeded my recruitment goal beyond my wildest dreams. I had originally set a high-end goal of 50 responses and thanks to the Reddit community I ended up with over 2,000! I truly appreciate everyone that took the time to complete the survey and will follow-up with the data once I've completed my analysis.
