We all know about the data practices by WhatsApp by the recent frenzy over privacy policy update. Even if it's postponed to May 2021, there's dark hands of WhatsApp on our data. This should be taken serious since every bit of data is valuable and those can be used to initiate any type of cyber attacks/fraud/manipulation in future. Everyone kind of knows this and they're not switching to Signal since they're used to the features of WhatsApp including : status, polished UI etc. But these features are coming to Signal in near future. So we must switch unanimously.

For this I think we need a worldwide WhatsApp Account deletion drive on 8th February 2021 (The date they initially announced for the Policy Update). Is it safe to take the collections company on their word without it in writing? Can I record the call for proof?

She said the courtesy deletions are basically because of Covid and they'd only be able to give me a paid in full letter.

If it's relevant the debt is in Ohio and the collections agency is North Carolina.

...and I didnt even notice. Last month I set my Facebook and Instagram to be permanantly deleted and they gave me a 30 day period to change my mind. The date came and went on the 9th February and I have only just thought about it today.

I deleted twitter about 10 months ago and never looked back. I kept Facebook for family but I must have looked at it once every 3 months so didnt see the point in keeping it. However, I struggled with the idea of getting rid of Instagram because of the mass following I had accumulated over the years plus the 500+ photos I'd posted.

But the effect it was having on my mental health was so detrimental, I felt I had no choice but get shot of it.

I honestly feel a million times better. I have spent the last month doing hobbies I felt "I never had time for". My partner always tried to tell me what people are up to and I tell him I literally do not care and its no longer a lie!

Hey all - I just wanted to share a story that will hopefully uplift some of your spirits! One of my family members was deeply into the Qanon tunnel, and wasn't coming out of it. He was obsessed. Ended up getting fired from his job because he refused to wear a mask. Just an obnoxious, idiotic, and selfish person. Anyways, I saw another post on here about how you can report images on Facebook that are related to qanon, maga, or any of those dangerous, misinformation memes. I would spend a few minutes each week reporting all of his conspiracy video, shared images, and qanon garbage. It was quite simple. Then I figured out that you can report an entire profile - so I reported it as false news/misleading. He always had a Qanon profile pictures, so I figured they would flag his account. THEY MUST HAVE LISTENED! His entire account was deleted. I am so happy, I feel like I was able to make a difference in having his account shut down! Now he cant spread his far fetched conspiracy theories to anyone else. Anyways, I figured I would share with this sub, cause I know you can relate. Hope this will help someone else!

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the process of changing up Jacksparrows ANKI Deck into dual cloze deletions. I love JackSparrows deck, but I am not a fan of the basic formatting. I have turned his cards into dual clozes for example, {{c1::The soma (cell body)::neuron part}} is {{c2::where the nucleus and organelles are located::function}} this basically means that the card will have a dual definition; what the soma is, then the function. This deck is great because it forces you to know the content, and have the luxury of cloze deletions! This deck is for those that are following Kaplan and want a comprehensive deck to refer to after completing the chapters. My suggestion with using the deck is to first read the chapter, then do the anki chapter that correlates with that chapter you just did (so its still fresh in your memory), and stick with the reviews. I'm still in the process of making the deck, and have completed most of biology. I have yet to finish chapters 1, 2, and 12. I'm excited to hear what you guys think and I'll be sure to update the link when I'm finished. Gl to all and I wish you guys a 528!

JackSparrow's "Miscellaneous" decks contain cards that correspond with each chapter and I'm organizing them into their respective chapters as I go. I am only adding mnemonics and extra pictures in the cards (because I'm a very visual person) but otherwise keeping the integrity of the deck by leaving its content as intact as possible. I may also make an extra card here or there with an average of adding maybe 5 of my own new cards per Kaplan chapter.

I am trying to completely remove any information Facebook has of me using the legal way. I know it's impossible to know if they really removed it (very likely no), but I need to try anyway. I already deleted my account from Facebook, instagram and whatsapp, and now I want to request a GDPR erasure just to make sure they would be breaking the law if they don't really remove my data.

This is clearly misinformation from Facebook, so people have the false sense that their privacy is restored. I need to know how they can comply with a GDPR deletion request, so they are legally responsible for the deletion of my data.

Why is it usually said "a place that I've never been" rather than "a place that I've never been to" or "a place where I've never been", when the original pattern is "I've never been to a place"? (I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm 100% sure the first one is what I hear most of the time.)

I'm aware that phonologically weak units are often omitted when they're in the beginning of a sentence, as in "does anybody know?" and the like. Is there a similar trend happening in my example above but concerning the ends of sentences? If so, what are some other examples of it? Are there any papers examining this phenomenon?

After proceeding with an amnio, we just received news that our baby has chromosome 18q deletion. Our hearts are heavy and we are officially that one crazy case because we have a daughter with Trisomy 21. My husband and I do not have any genetic abnormalities on either side of our families and we were karyotyped after our daughter was born.

We are learning all we can about this rare abnormality. Thanks to everyone for all the information and encouragement.

Here’s the weird part. The microarray comes back almost normal. They say there are several chromosomes including 15 (which would be the affected on for pws) that have something called absences of heterozygosity. The GC told me this is Uber common with partners of the same background (which we are- both ashkenazi western European) . I’ve never heard of this in my life (not that I’m a expert but i do have some medical background). She said that one consequence of this could be that a recessive gene in one partner is expressed fully since both partners have similar genetics. Ok that’s creepy as hell. I have been tested for 283 carrier genes and carry 2. Hubby was tested for those two and is not a carrier. At this point she said our options are to do further testing which takes four more weeks and test my husband for the full carrier screening to see what he carries or to just leave it. I don’t think I can do this anymore mentally and emotionally so we’re just leaving it. I’d be curious to hear if anyone else has had something similar. My early anatomy scan is Thursday. Praying it all looks normal

update*** I did the CVS micro and fish on last weds. Because we only did the FISH on the affected chromosome 15 the nice people at SEM4/ Mount Sinai NYC did not have the correct probe to do FISH and had to send it to another lab. Add in that delay + yesterday being a legal holiday it took almost a entire week for my FISH RESULTS TO COME BACK NORMAL. Obviously, we are very cautiously optimistic since we still have a micro running for all the other chromosomes which can take up to 4 weeks.

Hi everyone. So grateful to stumble across this sub. I’m 12w3d after a eventful year of IVF (translate- hell) rounds. I just got my nipt results back and it came back high risk for 1/22 prader willi syndrome. Of course I am shocked and shattered. My doctor is sending my for a consult with a genetic counselor tomorrow and delayed my nuchal (it was supposed to be tomorrow am) a few hours to later in the day - assuming that we will likely do a CVS. Has anyone gotten this type of positive before from the panorama? I don’t remember if they tested for micro deletions in my last pregnancy 3.5 years ago. Has anyone chosen to wait for a amnio vs doing a cvs? How did you make that decision? I’m not sure what to think or what to ask the GC.
