Article > A group of Dallas Mavericks have teamed up to donate $1.1 million to the Dallas Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund as a way to help DFW battle back from the problems caused by this week's winter weather.
>“I am beyond grateful for our partnership with the Dallas Mavericks and for the generosity of the organization,” Mayor Eric Johnson said in a statement. “Our residents are hurting right now, and this donation will be a tremendous help to those in need as we deal with property damage, displacements, water accessibility, and other related issues.”
>Owner Mark Cuban, CEO Cynt Marshall, and players Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell have been cited (via the Dallas Morning News) as donors. The Mavs Foundation and Chime, a major team sponsor, are also contributing.
>“There are so many fellow Dallasites without food, water, and shelter during this devastating winter storm, and we would be remiss if we did not help in some way,” Powell said in a statement. “I hope that our contributions will give relief to those struggling during this time.”
>Millions of Texans have been without power, heat and water due to the severity of the storm. Two Mavs games have been canceled this week due to the inclement and dangerous weather.
>“I hope others will also consider donating whatever they can to the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund and other reputable local organizations as we begin our recovery,” Johnson said.
Look.. this year has been stressful for everyone except Jeff bezos. And I understand a brides reluctance to cancel her wedding even when an air born global pandemic is literally killing millions of people around the world.. but Cynthia omg giiiiirl this is your third wedding (?) it’s not like this date is so special when you’ve had multiple wedding dates. She is acting like a 23 y/o bride who won’t take no for answer. AND the pandemic is killing POC disproportionately in huge numbers and she does not seem to care or think about literally any human life except hers. Her immaturity and ignorance is embarrassing and I would be ashamed after watching myself be a brat over a date and 500 friggin people at my wedding who I’ll never see again when poverty, homelessness, unemployment, suicides and death rates are all sky rocketing. I record all housewives but I am not watching her wedding because the lavish disregard for the collective pain we are experiencing as the human race is the reason non fans think bravo is trash and this episode proves them right

I saw these text messages made by Shanann Watts. I noticed two things that stood out.
Shanann hoped for:
Also Shanann Watts clearly absolutely loved and adored her children.
Honestly, I feel so disgusted when I hear Cynthia Watts and her daughter talking about Shanann. Obviously it was Cynthia who was not open at all to a good relationship with Shanann. If she would have been, her and Shanann could have had a wonderful friendship I believe. It's really sad that Cynthia didn't even seem to try. She seemed to try to antagonize Shanann at times.
I would hope Cynthia would try to see her contribution to the bad feeling between her and Shanann and quit blaming her for what happened. All it would of taken was for Cynthia to say to Shanann, you should come over for dinner I'd like our relationship to be the best we can make it. Shanann would have liked hearing this. It seems so simple to get along. All it takes is to say I'd like for things to improve.
I’ve been captivated by this one for a while. It’s a shocking saga that exposes a lot of corruption in law enforcement and I’ve never seen it discussed on Reddit, so I figured it warranted a write-up. This is extremely long (I like to go super in depth and include as many details as possible), but it’s worth the read IMO so check it out when you’ve got some spare time. Feel free to skip straight ahead to Donna and Cindy’s murders if you’re in a rush or aren’t interested in the background info.
Background In the mid to late 1980’s, there was an alarming amount of women being murdered in the western states. The Green River Killer, Southside Slayer, and Night Stalker dominated all of the headlines. But through it all, a similar pattern was quietly unfolding in San Diego and receiving almost no media coverage outside of the city.
The string of cases involving missing and murdered women in San Diego during this time period grew to around 43 total, most of which were what law enforcement called “fringe women” - meaning women who were prostitutes, addicts, exotic dancers, homeless, or involved with biker gangs. Detectives still do not know exactly how many perpetrators were involved in all of these slayings and disappearances. In the following years, police hypothesized that an ex-marine named Ronald Elliot Porter (who was already in prison for another murder) was responsible for approximately thirteen of the murders, though he has never been formally charged with them. Another three murders are believed to have been the work of Blake Raymond Taylor who was also already in prison for murder - and just like Porter, has never been formally charged with the suspected slayings. Around nine further cases were solved and lead to the convictions of multiple individual murderers, none of which with any apparent connections to the other San Diego murders. The remaining 17+ murders/disappearances are still considered unsolved. Today I want to tell you guys about two of these women - Donna Gentile and Cynthia Maine - who I firmly believe were not murdered by johns, pimps, or an elusive serial killer, but were in fact killed by the San Diego police officers themselves.
The Complicated Relationships between the Prostitutes and the Police:
To start, it’s important to go over the sometimes hostile - yet often co-dependent - relationship that many members of the San Diego police force had with local prostitutes during this timeframe. One disturbing note is that wh... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey people, I’m playing Pokémon white for the first time ever (only game I’ve never played) (yes I’ve played the game cube shadow games) BUT yeah I had no clue she was in the game. I was pre grinding for elite 4 part 2, ran into the house accidentally, and the piano came on. My stomach dropped, didn’t know if I could run before she fought me.
Literally thought I was gonna get wiped. I clicked no faster than I ever had and ran the heck out of there. Anyone else experience something like this? I feel like I’m a Pokémon vet, not too many times I actually felt nervous. Probably some gen 4 Cynthia PTSD eh
I figured I would post about this case since this hasn't been reported on on Reddit before, nor has it been posted under Teresa Williams or Crystal Donita Parton. Just curious if anyone else has heard of this case and/or has similar thoughts about it that I do or any other information they could share.
Cynthia was last seen in Russellville, Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. on December 2, 1976. She disappeared from her home in the Fairview Estates neighborhood. and was never seen again. That same day, two other girls vanished from their residences in the same neighborhood: Teresa Williams, 13, and Crystal Donita Parton, 14.
Authorities assumed the girls were all runaways, but none of them ever returned home. Teresa and Crystal's remains were found ten years later on a dead-end road near Brock Cemetery in northern Pope County, Arkansas. They'd been stabbed in the neck.
In October 1998, a woodcutter named James B. Grinder was charged with murder in Teresa, Crystal and Cynthia's deaths. He was already serving a prison sentence in Missouri for burglary at the time, and earlier that year, he had been charged with the 1984 rape and murder of Julie Helton, a 25-year-old Missouri woman.
Grinder admitted he knew the Russellville girls and initially said he had only given them a ride from Russellville to Pottsville, Arkansas the day they disappeared. He said he gave them $20 and left them on the interstate.
Grinder later admitted to the murders. He said he'd picked up the three girls on the outskirts of Russellville, drove them to Morrilton, Arkansas, bought them alcohol and then took them to the Brock Cemetery, where he raped Crystal and Teresa, strangled and stabbed them to death and covered their bodies with brush. Afterwards he took Cynthia to another location in Ozark National Forest, raped her, beat her to death, and left her body there without trying to hide it.
Grinder was charged with only a single count of capital murder because the crime in Arkansas in 1976 was defined as the premeditated killing of two or more people. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison. He later asked for his sentenced to be reduced, claiming he was forced to confess to his crimes and other, unnamed individuals had been involved in the murders, but his petition for clemency was denied.
Cynthia's body has never been located.
I find this case fascinating in that only one man has been convicted for the murders (and it seems that LE thinks he committed them alone), but h... keep reading on reddit ➡
