Cross Site Scripting (XSS) Explained

Cross site Scripting (XSS) refers to client-side code injection attack wherein an attacker can execute malicious scripts (also commonly referred to as a malicious payload) into a legitimate website or web application. XSS is amongst the most rampant of web application vulnerabilities and occurs when a web application makes use of unvalidated or unencoded user input within the output it generates.

Synopsis for 04-07-2021 what we need to know before the market opens DD

Good morning San Diago,

I am Rensole,

Everyone subscribed to Kenny G's onlyfans?

Bloomberg terminals

First all thank you to u/ /u/ShortaSqueezzzGoBRRR for posting an amazing write up here

I think it's important enough that everyone should take a look at it.

Why? because the more knowledge one has the better prepared one is, and well we all use a version of the bloomberg terminal on a daily basis, the only difference is they have a shiny sleek 1982 version, and we use a bootstrapped version across several different websites.

for example:

https://gme.crazyawesomecompany.com/

https://iborrowdesk.com/report/GME

https://finviz.com/map.ashx?t=sec_all&st=ps

https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/gme/pre-market

https://swaggystocks.com/dashboard/options-max-pain/GME

Those sites (and more) give us the same sort of information but the difference is simple, we don't know how to read, so once you learn how to it's easy to discern how much volume has gone through, what those weird % thingies are and mean and so on, so I'd advise checking it out and try to make a wrinkle.

A brief look into areas for security improvements in the CTemplar web app (Part 1/2)

Hello CTemplar Team!

CTemplar has come a long way in the past few months, and it seems well on it's way to becoming a good encrypted email service. It's clear that everyone in the team has been worked incredibly hard to get it this far. I think one of CTemplar's strong points is how feature-complete it is, even during this early stage of development. I believe in their mission of making encrypted email freely available to people, and I would like to help out.

While using the app, I've noticed a couple of little issues and glitches, which I have outlined below. Please don't take any of this as a criticism towards CTemplar or the developers, I am just trying to help in getting the application to a more polished state. I've tried to document them up as clearly, and where possible, I've given the steps to fix

Some of the below issues relate to security, but just to clarify up-front: none of these issues are critical, and if you are a user of CTemplar - you do not have anything to be immediately worried about in regards to the content below. That being said, they do should still be addressed by the devs, in order to keep things as safe as possible for the users going forward.

I have some additional issues (not included in this list), which I would like to discuss privately with someone from the team. I would appreciate if you could reach out, and I will go through them with you. You can find my public key here.

Please forgive me in advance if I've made any mistakes here- I wrote this late at night

User Token not Invalidated After Sign Out

When the user signs in with their credentials the server responds with a token, which is stored in the browsers local storage as user_key. And when they sign out, this key is removed from local storage, as expected (this happens in users.service.ts). However, it is never invalidated, leaving the users account vulnerable to a session hijacking attack. If an attacker were to manually insert this token into their browser, they would have full unrestricted access to the victims account. This can be fixed by calling to the server to destroy the token on logout or session expiry, and then generating a fresh access key next time the user signs in.

When using a browser that doesn't support window.crypto then the no content is loaded (as expected). However the alert()

Tormuse's guide for modding DDLC, March 2021

Hi everyone! :) This is my guide for modding Doki Doki Literature Club! :)

So it seems that Reddit is having some kind of technical difficulties, and several posts got spontaneously removed, with no ability to bring them back, including all of my guide posts, except the original. I'm going to include links to all of them here, since they have useful information in the comments, so even if you can't see the guides themselves, you might still learn something. :) (Fingers crossed that this one doesn't get removed too) :P

Sep 2018

(Wow! I've been doing this for a while!) :o

Anyway, same as before, I'm open to suggestions if anyone thinks I should change or re-word anything, or if anyone just generally has questions about anything to do with modding DDLC. :)

Welcome, reader!

If you've clicked this link, you probably want to create a DDLC Mod. You're also most likely brand new to code, or Ren'Py at the very least. That's no problem! This here will be a quick rundown on getting started.

MATERIALS

You'll need the following to get started with your mod:

  1. Ren'Py version 6.99.12 (Note: You must use this specific version of Ren'Py, because that's the version that Team Salvato used; you can't use the latest version, unless you really, really know what you're doing)
  2. A Fresh Doki Doki Literature Club! Install
  3. Some .RPY files! (Script files that are used by Ren'PY) There are two ways you can get .RPY files:

a) The easier way: Just grab the ones that I extracted from the game here! :D Extract the contents of this zip file into the "game" folder of your fresh install of DDLC. (That is the subfolder named "game" that is inside the main DDLC folder)

##OR

b) The advanced way: Extract them yourself! You can use an RPA unpacker like rpatool to extract the script files from your existing copy of DDLC. Rpatool requires Python to run, which is a free download from their site here. Install Python and then put rpatool in the "game" folder for DDLC. It should be a single file called "rpatool" which you should rename to "rpa

The Geoguessr Mega Suggestion Thread

After the tease and then reveal of the US State Streaks game mode, and how it has been received by some members of the community, I felt it was time to put together a list of suggestions and ideas that the community would like to see added to Geoguessr. The goal is to have all these suggestions and ideas be put into a single place that everyone will be able to reference. This includes the game dev's looking for the next big change to Geoguessr and the players who make custom scripts that add content to the game. Id like to say that you can include third party apps (for example the Geo Path Logger) as suggestions for the Geoguessr Dev's.

There will be a Google Form that you can use to talk about your idea / suggestions (If you don't want to talk about it on Reddit). This Thread will be constantly updated to contain new ideas and suggestions that we as a community hope will be added to Geoguessr (These may be vetted over on the Geoguessr Pro Discord. That may include a vote to see if its popular). The Dev's are more than welcome to implement anything they see on this list, and credit will be given to the first person to suggest the idea / suggestion (If applicable).

These suggestions are in no specific order, and they probably never will be. It might be better to keep track of the interest in some suggestions / ideas by upvoting them to the moon. If something is crossed out, it has been added to the game. Lets get some ideas flowing!

Please Note, I am super bad at Reddit, but Ill do my best to keep this thread alive.

List of Suggestions / Ideas:

  • MMR or some other Skill Based Match Making for Battle Royale. (Nearly Everyone)*Battle Royale is fun and all, and you can rank up by playing consistently, but there is no way to match people based on skill. If you know this game as well as some of the members of the discord / reddit, its often boring to play Battle Royale as it comes down to learning the meta. Being matched against people who are just as good as you would definitely create a more c

I'm a driver for the Dark Convoy. Job #4 was a total fucking trip.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5

Jason read me the riot act about my fuck ups on the last job. Then the rest of the way to Earl’s, we were silent.

I saw genuine worry in his eyes––that was new. I’d never seen it before. Never seen anything other than total put-togetherness. Up until then, he’d had things under control. My blunders were never so bad that a bit of explaining wouldn’t fix it.

But then, in a moment of weakness and stupidity, I’d pointed a gun at a client.

After seeing what they were planning to do to the girl, my rational mind had died. Didn’t matter about Charlotte being in danger or Steve having a ticking time bomb sewed into his chest. All I saw was someone innocent––whose skin could heal itself thanks to the things living inside her body––and the monsters who wanted to flay her alive and study how the process worked.

When it had all come to a head, and I’d seen the terror on her face, I reacted. And I fucked up, badly. If I could do it over again, I would. But it didn’t happen like that. And they took her anyway.

God knows what atrocities happened to her after we parted ways, but I had a whole new set of problems.

***

We pulled into the parking lot at Earl’s. The orange neon sign above it was aglow––in the amber dusk, it looked like a jagged streak of heat lightning.

“Let’s go in,” said Jason. “Remember what I told you. Shut up unless I tell you to talk.”

I nodded and got out of the Cougar. I followed Jason through the back of Earl’s. The strip club portion of the building was raucous; hard-boiled types getting ready for a night of debauchery. But the backroom was silent. There were several bikers and Dark Convoy employees. I waited for one of them to raise a gun and blow my head off, but they just stood there, still as statues.

Jason opened the door to the basement and led the way down to Dark Convoy HQ.

Things in the main offices seemed normal––people

I study forbidden and 'cursed' media (Part 3): Kitchen Blitz

Part 1: Money for Nothing (1999)

Part 2: The Maddening Quiet (1962)

What I’m covering today is, quite literally, close to home for me. Kitchen Blitz was the 2013 pilot of a failed home improvement TV show that was filmed not even twenty miles away from my hometown in Wisconsin. As the name might suggest, the show focuses on trying to renovate the kitchen specifically, which might sound stupid, but consider this: a house can exist without a TV room, a breakfast nook, a computer room, a ‘man cave’, etc. But the kitchen is the third-most important room in the house, after the bathroom and bedroom, and it’s also the most complex to maintain. You have to deal with gas lines, electrical lines, plumbing, waterproofing, managing storage space, dealing with pests… it makes sense that people would find at least some entertainment value in it.

Like a lot of media I deal with, the episode is made up of a bunch of unedited takes from various cameras. I’ve managed to cobble together a coherent narrative with the help of my colleague ‘Azula’, who is the editing guru in my research community; she helped cobble together the Money for Nothing tape, but she didn’t give me a usable pseudonym until now. But before we get to the episode, let’s discuss the house itself.

The house it was filmed in-- which still stands to this day, abandoned-- used to be a farmhouse, before all the land around it was bought up and developed into something that would be called suburbs, if it were closer to a major city. It’s the oldest house on the block, and it’s falling apart. Part of the roof has collapsed on the north side, essentially obstructing the attic. Some of this debris has fallen on the carport to one side of the house, crushing it. The front porch has a hole between the stairs and the front door, exposing the crawl space beneath it; I don’t know whether it’s due to rotting wood, or if it was dug up after the incident on the tape. I can smell the mold from twenty feet away-- that’s why I came prepared.

You know how people say you can get into anywhere with a clipboard, a tie and some confidence? It’s the same for forbidden media research, but sometimes the props are different. Case in point, today I’m wearing white disposable coveralls, a set of gloves, goggles, and a face mask, w

My name is Barry Allen and I am the fastest man alive! When I was eight years old, my father, Jay Garrick, the original Flash, sacrificed himself to save the multiverse. Not soon after, I watched my mother die while surrounded by a tornado of red and yellow lightning. For years, I worked as an ordinary CSI for the CCPD, trying to help bring justice to my city in the only way I could -- until I was struck by lightning. Now, at speeds faster than sound, I try to honor my father’s legacy and protect the Twin Cities from those who seek to do them harm as the Flash!

Gotham City

A loud, cacophonous bang screamed through the packed hall of Gotham City High School as the doors slammed open, instantly commanding the attention of the students. Confusion kept terror at bay, but as the crowd looked to the source of the disturbance, they found a silhouette at the front doors. As he stepped forward, his features came into view. A silhouette stood at the front doors, the corpses of two security guards at his feet. As he stepped forward, his features came into view. It was a man in baggy clothes and an old leather hat, a stitched straw mask obscuring his face: The Scarecrow. The wicked supervillain had been unseen for ages now, a welcome relief. His weapon of choice was fear, something he inflicted upon his victims when he plunged them into their worst nightmares, some even going insane, using his infamous Fear Toxin, a tool in which he was never without. Even now. Silence gripped the crowd, their fear strangling their breath away, keeping their limbs frozen and mind off balanced, rattled, unable to respond.

“Fear,” the Scarecrow began, stepping forward and through the metal detectors, which he promptly set off. A shrill, screaming alarm that filled everyone’s ears. “Teenagers are so full of it. Atychiphobia. Pistanthrophobia. But I wonder… what lays below those simple, petty things? What keeps you awake at night!”

It was like those words cut through the sheer, overwhelming terror held in their hearts. A path through which sense

This Mormon Youtube channel is pissing me off!

Recently I have overheard my TBM mom listening to the ludicrous Mormon apologetics Youtube channel "Saints unscripted" (which I suspect is scripted). I haven't asked her to turn down what she plays in her own room or argued about it, because I'm not an asshole, but I have been annoyed by this channel's fallacies and juvenile tone, and needed to vent.

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C3zEczFpwf0 he attempts to answer the question "Why isn't there any evidence for the Book of Mormon?" Instead of coming to the obvious conclusion, he explains

>The Church of Jesus Christ Latter day Saints has no official position on where the Book of Mormon took place

Yeah, almost like they can't have one, because no place on Earth has a history or archaeological record that fits the description. He then goes on to say

>Most Book of Mormon scholars agree Mesoamerica fits the bill, sorry Homelanders

I find it interesting that he doesn't even mention Hill Cumorah, where there was the final battle of the Nephites and Lamanites, and where the Golden plates were deposited, was claimed to be in Palmyra New York where Joseph Smith claimed to find the plates. I would also point out that, as Jeremy Runnells observes, many Book of Mormon locations were named after settlements of upstate New York. To this I would add that despite FAIR Mormon and others' attempts to discredit this, some of the areas were named after local Native American tribes, such as Onidah after the Oneida, and Kishkumen, after the Natives' name for the river Kishkimentas. It only makes since that Joseph Smith, when writing his fiction of Native American tribes centered in his hometown would mention Native America tribes in his vicinity. But the makers of this video will ignore all this because it is too indefensible a position even for apologists. I will also note that Mesoamerica "fits the bill" because of large empires and written languages, but is still incompatible due to the lack of steel, metal swords or armor of any kind, horses, wheeled vehicles and acompanying infrastructure such as stables, and none of their written history corroborating any part of the Book of Mormon.

He then embarks on a long list of logical fallacies and weasel words with pop-culture clips badly thrown in every two minutes in a pathetic attempt at memeing, because these videos are disgustingly marketed at children, not consenting adults.

He argues that "We don't kno

The Chronicles of Jeremiah Drake, Entry #6.0: The Pig (Part 1 of 2)

I wish I had never met Amanda Young, but paradoxically glad as well. She opened my eyes to the darkness within me, to the beast I must now attempt to control, lest it turn me into one of the many Killers that stalk this dimension.

I emerged in a large, blood-stained bathroom. Several lockers stood on the opposite side of the room, a generator on the left, waiting for me. To my right, I noticed a couple dead bodies, long since rotted away. Disturbed, I approached the generator cautiously. Not wanting to draw attention to myself early and potentially distract whoever the Killer was, I touched a couple wires together to begin activation and exited through the doorway adjacent to the machine.

Good thing I'm not sticking around too long. I thought. That would've been the easiest kill ever.

Making my way through the lower level, I encountered a freezer of sorts with pig carcasses strung up around it. In the middle, disturbingly, was the completely frozen body of a woman partially incased in ice. She was trussed up like one of the pig carcasses, except by chains dangling from the ceiling. I had become a little jaded by death at this point, but I spared a moment of pity and sadness for this woman whom I had never met, wondering what must've happened in her life to make her path end here, before turning away and proceeding onward.

Not wanting to spend a moment longer on that level, I traveled upward. The Gideon Meat Plant, as I later learned it to be, opened up before me. Various connected rooms ranged throughout, each one containing something different. Some had plans and schematics alongside mannequins, others storage shelves, one even had a pig head dangling by a chain over an open trapdoor. I continued until I reached the loading dock. In it, between two loading vans, a man stood stock still, a police officer by the look of him. He had some kind of collar around his throat. As I approached, he raised a hand for me to stop.

"Don't move any closer, kid." He said. "You cross that threshold within the next 10 seconds and you'll be seeing a helluva lot more of me than you would like."

I silently nodded and waited, the next 10 seconds feeling like 10 hours. After that moment passed, the collar let out a beep and I heard a latch come undone. The policeman closed his eyes and sighed deeply before reaching behind himself, pulling the back of the collar slightly, and removing it gently from his neck.

*"One of Miss Young'

The Lord of the Feast {Final Story to the Meat Locust Saga} - Part Two (1/3)

So here's Part Two. Part Three is still in process, but I'm pretty sure it'll be ready before the end of April 2021.

Onwards.

After the previous day’s events, after all that battle and carnage, you’d think I’d be plagued with nightmares. But my dreams were a blank slate. More often than not I slept as peacefully as the dead. I could spend an entire story attempting to psychoanalyze why that was, but I doubt you’d want to stick around and listen to me babble on and on about it. Maybe it’s as simple as genetics – that I am naturally conditioned for this life and this threat. I don’t know if being a peaceful sleeper counts as a superpower, but I’m starting to believe it should.

After six hours of needed rest I got some cheap grub in my stomach and greeted the drizzly morning functional enough for the start of our next briefing. The four of us collected ourselves in a school conference room, sitting around a round table, clutching cups of instant coffee and chai tea as we waited for the operations leader to show. Lazlo and Theo chatted about which movie they were going to pirate the next night we had off, while Madison sat in her chair, arms crossed and hoping to leave at the earliest opportunity. She talked tough about briefings, but she had never cottoned to these meetings. Her mindset was that of a hunter that overhears where the deer herds have migrated and then heads off to collect her quota.

The room door opened right at 0800 hours and our eyes followed the portly fellow walking in. Just the one man, balding and wearing a shirt and tie instead of a military uniform. This was Dr. Atkins Tanaka, and thanks to Lazlo’s digital digging I knew he was a freelance consultant who claimed to be an expert in ML behavior. I doubted he knew more than we did, but he wouldn’t be the first expert to think so. I wasn’t expecting to like this guy.

Dr. Tanaka gave each of us a polite smile and hello as he passed out digital tablets. He then sat at a vacant chair and folded his hands. “Let’s just get this out of the way,” he began in a light tone. “Your bosses like me because I tell them what they want to hear. That’s why if you look at my credentials I’ll come off like a brownnoser and a know-it-all.” He looked straight at Lazlo. “I assume you did. You seem the type. I would’ve done the same.”

Lazlo didn’t know what to make of that, and for once didn’t have a good comeback. Tanaka seemed slightly amused at her reaction. To be fair, so was I.

“But I’m not h

On Wednesday 17 March, a video interview with Juventus champion Lina Hurtig appeared on the Juventus official website in the company of his wife Lisa, pregnant with the couple's first child.

The Juventus code of ethics, among its general principles, states this: “Juventus is opposed to any form of discrimination including social discrimination, racism, xenophobia, intolerance.

I have always tried not to lower myself to the level of these people, I have never given them too much attention.

Also in this case Juventus responds present: on the occasion of the matches of the women's and men's first team (Fiorentina-JuventusWomenandJuventus-Benevento), the two black and white teams will wear special jerseys.

As fans, we always hope that Juventus' successes continue unchallenged and, above all, unmatched.

Melinda’s Story

An hour later, I groaned. “I can’t make any words with these letters.”

Walter frowned at me. “Not at all?”

I pointed to the corner where game intersected with timid. “Well, I can put something down here, but it won’t make sense in this direction.” I gestured towards the letter to the left of my finger.

Walter looked excited. “Great. So, can you make a word with the tiles you have on your rack? Not on the board?”

“Well, yeah, but it won’t fit anywhere.”

“That’s fine. So, you can make a new board off to the side of the original board. If we were keeping score, it would cost you twenty points, but it doesn’t matter today.”

“Twenty points? That sounds like a lot.”

“Long story. I think someone was abusing the new board policy.”

I shrugged. “Well, it’s not like we’re keeping score.” I placed the word busy to the side of the original board.

After a few more turns, Walter repeated the question I had managed to avoid answering earlier. “So, how was your weekend?”

I sighed. “My friends aren’t the same. They’re into makeup and skimpy clothes and older boys.” I spent the next several turns describing to Walter what had happened Friday night from the time Casey’s mother had dropped us at the school until my mother had picked me up.

“So, then, when I got home, I was trying to figure out what had happened, and then Eliot asked—”

“See, there’s that name again. Who’s Eliot?” Walter raised his eyebrows as I took my turn. “What happened to Mike?”

“You know what happened with Mike.”

[Table] I am Mark Porter, CTO at MongoDB. I love Tech, and especially delighting people with databases. I also used to work at Oracle, NASA, Amazon, and Grab. AMA. | pt 3/3 FINAL

Questions Answers
Over the past few years, I’ve transitioned from electrical engineering into full-stack web app development, and everything I’ve learned is self-taught and just based on what I need to accomplish. I’m most comfortable with JavaScript and Python running on GCP, for relatively simple and low-traffic applications. I am now working on a new project, and am first focusing on getting it to work properly using simple Datastore storage/query transactions — just the logic and baseline functionality, before tackling the backend framework to ensure scalability / speed / optimization that’ll be needed to support the eventual growth in traffic. I know that I will need to eventually transition to a more mature database methodology, but I don’t have experience outside simple data storage/retrieval using Datastore and Firebase. Can you recommend any intro-level training resources for modern database practices — books, or sample projects? I’d like to first get comfortable with terminology and a high-level understanding of the landscape, instead of just jumping right in and trying to “learn as I go.” Thanks! I am probably not the best to answer this as I haven’t actively coded production code against a database for more than a decade. Here are a few resources my team in the backchannel just sent me:
* CMU's Intro to Databases
* Mark Gillenson’s Fundamentals of Database Management Systems
Once you are ready to go, MongoDB University is there to help with some practice exercises as well.
I hope this helps!
What can MongoDB do that Oracle DB EE can’t? The first thing that comes to mind..."Avoid a surprise license audit from your Oracle Sales Rep."? Second "Develop flexible-schema applications natively in 12 languages"? Third, "Run across multi-region and multi-cloud provider". That's a good start.
Oracle DB EE is a cool piece of technology. But IMO it's overcomplicated, sucks you into using things you regret later (PL/SQL anybody?) and is way too expensive. Oh, and it's hard to run on any cloud other than Oracle Cloud. But again, it's the culmination of ~40 years of tech and is amazing on that front.
Thanks for the fun question

That's quite the resume you got th

Weekly Wrap: This Week In Chainlink February 8 - February 14

Announcements and Integrations 🎉

Algorithmic stablecoin @daiquilibrium is using Chainlink VRF on mainnet to power its Shrinkquilibrium—an event aiming to return DAIQ to its peg by incentivizing users to purchase tickets in DAIQ, which gets burned, while random winners receive DAI prizes.

Decentralized Big Data ecosystem @GeoDataBlock will launch their own Chainlink node to increase their users’ ability to monetize data. The initial focus is bringing location data to Ethereum, empowering new dApps like GPS-based on-chain rewards programs.

@financedotvote's quadratic voting-based prediction market is using Chainlink on mainnet to price 10+ assets after 7-day rounds to determine weekly winners. FVT holders can also vote on assets to be considered for new Chainlink Price Feed integrations.

Cross-chain NFT & gaming platform @attncommunity will integrate Chainlink VRF, Price Feeds, & esports data oracles to empower users to create dynamic NFTs, as well as buy & sell those NFTs across various blockchains like Ethereum, BSC & HuobiECOChain.

Endless Summer D&D Sessions 15/16

For newcomers/those who need a refresher, the resources I've created to run this campaign can be found HERE: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kORJOPY6eCK7gp3FCzqBgtzY1JkGxd4c4Pm0t-Bf4Wk/edit#

(I will give you access if you request it)

My players are Jake (Ranger 3), Sean (Paladin 3), Quinn (Druid 3), and Grace (Wizard 3).

My busyness continues, alas, but I've finally found some time to type this all up as best as I remember.

Following Rourke's betrayal, the PCs were taken back to Elyys'tel. On the way, they questioned Varyyn about some aspects of the old faith, the prophecy of the Catalysts, the Endless, etc.

Then they were tossed into the place they've been holding everyone else for the past ~6 months, a hastily excavated dirt cellar. Cue tearful reunion. But not everyone is there. The players learn that roughly a month in, before anyone had started to grasp the other's language, Estela managed to fight her way out and actually escape. She's been on the run and evading vaanti patrols ever since.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, the players leading Rourke directly into vaanti territory finally gave the anti-Catalyst faction of the vaanti enough ammo to push for a trial. So when Seraxa and her army comes back, it's trial time!

I made up some rules for the trial, making it a combat of sorts in which players have to come up with arguments (better arguments have higher bonuses to hit/damage) and roll using their mental stats instead of physical. Quinn has the highest total mental stats, but her player has a conflict and will be arriving late, so she's been unconscious due to Rotterdam's-related complications. She still gets chosen as one of the speakers on the Catalysts' behalf (speaking third; hopefully the player arrives by then), with Taylor and Grace chosen as the other two.

Round one, Seraxa argues her case. She rolls decently well, getting the crowd on her side early on, but also has some pretty big bonuses due to the vaanti the players killed in prior sessions. Still, when it's Taylor's turn to speak, Taylor manages to hold her own.

Round two, Grace opens. She rolls pretty poorly and doesn't phrase her arguments well, but gets some damage in. The rebuttal is also not the strongest, but definitely better than Grace's was.

Then comes closing statements to the elyyshar. Quinn's player showed up halfway through Grace's arguments and has been working on a closing statement the entire time. She brings down the house,

The origin of my deranged delusions, how they mutated and died, and how I resurrected them into the word of God that leads me to my best possible future

I've been a bit depressed these past few days, which is alright because you need to have some downs to contrast the ups. However, it feels like all I've been doing is scrolling Reddit in a zombie-like state. This is a positive feedback cycle where my sedated state seeks out activity on that frequency, and the passive consumption of meaningless information leads to more low-level feelings. I've been able to break free from this days long funk by pepping myself up with a bunch of coffee and losing myself in fantasies of world domination. Ah! That's something worth talking about: my grand delusions.

After my mom passed away, I spent a lot of time alone. Most of the time I was busy being brainwashed by a hypnotizing level of consumption of video games and TV. So, in those off hours where I was bored with what technology offered me, I would spaz out like the autistic tard I am, lost deep in the fantasies of merging the fictional realities planted in the garden of my imagination and playing with the respective trademarked and copyrighted characters in my mind like girls play house with their dolls. Yet, I was not just mentally masturbating through maladaptive day dreaming. No, having been raised without a meaningful framework from which to derive the nature of reality from, I began filling in the metaphysical gaps with an extreme delve into magickal thinking, where I attributed the totality of everything I knew, real or fictional, to exist in a multidimensional reality wherein I was the center and connected to anything and everything.

Throughout my middle school career, I carefully evolved an entire self-serving mythos to explain the nature of the universe and explain the reasons I suffered as I did. This mostly consisted of taking what nuggets of philosophy and the nuances of working models of reality that I parsed from the stories the media I consumed provided. In particular, I weaved together a crazy narcissistic paradigm using the themes of "God is dead," morality is subjective, and humanity had a potential that was dragged down by a misguided attachment to the light and law, all present in my favorite RPG, Grandia II. In this reality I soon lost myself in, I came to believe that I was the reincarnation of the god of evil, Valmar, and it was my life mission to find my dead sister and conquer the world to prepare humanity for a final battle against the corrupt forces of good and get revenge on the family of deities that shunned me from birth for their convi

Donating (or Supporting) Linux Gaming Projects - A Modest Guide 2020

This is a modest guide to how you can basically put your money where your mouth is by donating to open source and Linux projects that advance the aim of better gaming on Linux: ideally some hard cash but if not, your time. In it I set out to explain each project's importance and really cut through the cruft to get to exactly how you donate.

It's a follow-up to my post ten months ago, a guide to donating or supporting open-source projects. I decided to refresh it a little earlier this year because I'd like to bring it to the forefront before the December drain on people's finances kicks and this year has been a hellscape where we could all honestly do with a little more support and kindness. So there we go. Aside from the new additions (and some updates), much of the content remains the same.

As a last point, I'm going to reiterate what /u/PBLKGodofGrunts said at the start of his own "Guide to Migrating to Linux 2020"; if you liked this post enough to give it an award, consider sending that money through to one of the projects below instead.

For a list of revisions, credits and edits, please see the end of the post.

Wine (via the Software Freedom Conservancy)

What is it? Wine is a compatibility layer that allows users to run Windows applications in Linux environments. It forms a core part of Valve's Steamplay/Proton solution, as well as providing gamers the means to play Windows games that are no longer compatibile on modern systems.

How can I support them? Wine is assisted by the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC), a non-profit organisation that manages earmarked donations to its member projects (of which Wine, Godot and others form a part) and provides various fiscal and administrative services (the full list can be seen here.).

If you want donate to Wine directly, the easiest is to simply go to Wine's donation page. You can also go via the SFC. You'll need to go to the Member Projects Page, and scroll right down to the bottom. Clicking the donate will take you to Paypal where you'll be asked to donate an amount of your choice; you can als

>The Tearing Veil Ep. 16 (RoyalCaster)

Flamewrath rejoins his party and explains that he had gone to the “Helix”, bragging about his new duty as an Aeon of Balance. They head back through the door and enter the door to the left of the entrance. They take the contents within the room’s sarcophagi, finding a shrunken head with the sign of Vavren, which reveals all the actions that the target thinks they’re guilty of. Next they enter a room with more sarcophagi which seem to be of elven design. Each of the sarcophagi has a riddle about Elven history. The party is able to solve the riddles and are rewarded with a staff, a ring, a robe, a sword, and a crown. In the last sarcophagus however is a strange discus with each of the other items etched into it. As Vim picks up the discus, the found crown he wears starts glowing and disappears, reappearing on the discus. One by one they touch the discus with the items and complete the discus. When they lastly throw the robe onto it, stars fill the ceiling in the room.

The visage of Falaael appears before them and thanks them for remaking the discus. As he prepares their reward, a star, he asks what they are doing here. Angorn explains that they are here to prevent the Order of the Shattered Star from really taking hold in Orde. Falaael seems to be aware of the Enemy, and knowing that they are here to unseat the corrupt government, Falaael supports them. He also gives them another task; he pulls out a shrine of his own and asks them to place it somewhere where his people can be risen from their ignorance of their power, or any place with significant radiance to remind people of Falaael. Upon mentioning their plans to invade the prison, Falaael smiles and conjures another star. He casts a veil over them so they can invade the place more easily. Falaael also asks who would want to be his Star Seeker. Seeking power, Vim volunteers, but Falaael decides that the path of the Star Seeker is not for him, but maybe the path of the Dark Moon suits him more, working as the hand of Falaael, taking down those who have slighted him. He offers Vim the Dark Moon sphere and leaves.

They exit the room and head to the room on the west. They find an altar room full of divine energy, and Nidhogg rolls his black dice, which cracks the altar. Seeing how this area for the most part has

Javascript from a CDN?

Excuse the noob question.

Many websites load javascript libraries from a content delivery network (from a URL that even belongs to a different domain).

Can you explain how this is safe? Doesn't it open the door to cross site scripting attacks? Why doesn't the browser simply reject it as it fails some same origin policy?

What are the exact rules and why is this safe?

What is the risk that when I place an ad on my page, the ad company tells me to load some script.js from their CDN and then that script watches the DOM of my website and sniffs out user input into my forms. Possible or not?
