UPDATE:
Thank you so much for all your comments. I hope everyone has had a nice time. I’m pleased to announce the winner is u/NinjaEnder
Big shout out to u/GwenItToWinIt who passed the prize on like pass the parcel.
I will be posting the Game and Watch tomorrow or the day after. Looking forward to seeing a picture once it arrives. :-)
Hi Nintendo, I’ll cut to the chase then ramble for a bit. Take a look at this link to see what inside the cracker..
Hopefully the mods will verify this for me once I message them and they drag themselves away from the eggnog.
I’m happy to post this just about anywhere so don’t worry if you’re not in the UK. From other giveaways I’m assuming one top level comment per person is a good idea otherwise Santa’s elves get all upset and send you coal.
Tell me your fondest Christmas gaming memory, mine was playing street fighter 2 on the SNES with my Nan, she played as Dhalsim and was unbeatable.
I’ll sort the winner out after Boxing Day. :-)
Good luck and merry Christmas.
UPDATE: hey everyone, thanks for all the lovely messages. I’ve been trying to read as many as I can and reply to some. I’ll get the kids tucked up in bed tonight and do the drawer. Make sure to get in before that and share it with your friends (or don’t, so there’s more chance of you winning).
So if a black person gets oppressed (like usual, too often, like literally every second. I wish every subreddit recognized this) and a cracker goes ooh how sad they act like they are forgiven for their crimes. Like smh putting a black square actually hurts POC because they are put at the level of a useless picture of an oppressor (smh) but still the mayos act like all is well
BACKGROUND:
EMPRESS as they are known in the online game piracy scene has become somewhat famous over the last year for "cracking" (i.e. unlocking a game so it's pirateable) games which use the latest in digital rights management technology, Denuvo. It's particularly notable because games which use Denuvo have become notoriously difficult to crack quickly, and EMPRESS seems to be the only one who is managing to break it, to the delight of pirates all over the internet.
THE DRAMA:
Last week, EMPRESS posed this thread on r/crackwatch in which they challenge the subreddit to think philosophically to gain a hint to the next game they are working on cracking: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackWatch/comments/ksnx3u/a_philosophical_approach_toward_the_people_and/
The response was... tepid to say the least. Some played along, others called cringe at the r/im14andthisisdeep material and the self-putting of EMPRESS on a pedestal. Others just made jokes whilst the subreddit generally moved on.
Cut to the follow-up post a week later: https://www.reddit.com/r/CrackWatch/comments/kumhle/the_reply_to_my_philosophical_puzzle_1_and_the/
Where EMPRESS posts a shit-list of all the people they think are mean and all the ones who are not from the original thread. Some subreddit members accuse EMPRESS of being high-and-mighty with a messiah complex, and call them out for the aforementioned list. Some people just think philosophy is off topic from a cracking subreddit.
I'm excited. My last job treated me like trash so I hope this one won't!! I really hope I can be a waitress Edit: wow people are upset...
