I deliver for Uber Eats, and I’ll be honest with you. Whenever I get a request that leads me into a low income part of town, I instantly deny the request. I’m considered a private contractor and have the right to refuse jobs that I don’t want to take. Like most couriers in the city, I only take delivery jobs from safe middle class to upper middle class areas. I’m sorry but I’m not going to risk my life or risk getting robbed for $5.00 and not to mention people from these parts either tip very little or not at all. Which is fine, tipping shouldn’t be mandatory but it also isn’t mandatory for me to accept delivery routes that lead me into non tipping zones. I’ve delivered to low income areas when I first started and I always made below minimum wage because I rarely got tipped and it takes 5-10 minutes longer to navigate in complex apartment buildings. I prefer doing deliveries in suburban middle-high income areas because they tip more generously ($5.00 average) and it’s easier to navigat... keep reading on reddit ➡
I have played this game for almost a decade now, and I can't remember how shared couriers feel like anymore. I can't even understand how one can play with a shared courier now.
We had to reserve the courier for the midlaner for the first 5-10 minutes! I remember having to ask the midlane if the courier was available every time, and occasionally I'd be able to sneak an item in and deliver after he got his salve. How did sidelanes even survive without ferrying more regen? Remember having to put all your shit on hold because the cores had to deliver radiance, midas, or BKB? Or having the whole team crippled due to a single courier snipe? I remember how annoying and potentially game losing a late game courier snipe was. Your team basically couldn't buy new items or TPs or vision for the next couple minutes.
These are all things I take for granted now, and I sure am glad this change happened.
So, I resigned last week and I am supposed to handover the laptop to the company. However, my manager asked me to courier the laptop to the other team mate. Why can't I just handover the laptop at the company office, given the burden of safety also lies on me? He said, this is the protocol they follow here. This sounds too weird to be true. I am in Bangalore and can safely handover the laptop to the office. I am being apprehensive regarding courier since the manager said, "You will have to bear the cost of the laptop if it doesn't reach safely". Fuck!
Edit 1: I also have to pay for the courier. I am in Bangalore and the teammate is in Delhi. They won't even reimburse the courier charges. WHY CAN'T I JUST RETURN TO THE OFFICE?
Edit 2: He is asking me to get the courier insured too. I think I will take this conversation to the mail now.
Edit 3: I asked the manager to mail me regarding the same, CCed to HR and IMG. When I asked him to send me it over mail, he went completely silent an... keep reading on reddit ➡
Sticking new COVID alert stories behind a paywall in a misguided attempt to win subscribers.
Piss poor, considering in the early days these stories were free to all.
We’ll remember these shitty stunts in the months to come.
Note: smart enough to circumvent your “controls”. Not everybody is.
Think about how much a Bee sting hurts. They sting you and deliver a small dose of pain inducing poison causing a fiery stabbing pain.
Now imagine how much a Cazador sting must hurt. Forget being taken out by the hp damage of the blow or the health draining effects of the poison, you should be passing out due to the overwhelming pain, especially when you get stung by multiple Cazadores.
The Courier must have an incredible tolerance for pain to not only avoid blacking out but to be able to keep fighting and win.
EDIT: This isn't meant to be taken overly seriously. Its not like I've made a comprehensive evaluation of the various strengths and weaknesses of the main characters of the various games. I just thought, the Courier must be pretty tough to endure Cazador stings, yes even with drugs.
I am a local Ottawa bicycle courier for UberEats. Yesterday, Friday, August 7, my brake lines were disconnected twice in the Market while I was going into restaurants to pick up orders.
This happened during the dinner rush in two different spots: at Dal/Clarence and York/Square.
If you're bicycling in the Market and you've had to lock up your bike, please be safe and check your brakes!
Also, while we're on Lone Druid, that would be nice if we could be able to shift-click the actions of the bear after the recall ability is being used.
As many of you know, we're presented with options of asking various characters in the Mojave about the state of the war between the Legion and NCR, the state of politics in the NCR proper, and about what life is like back in California. One of the early prominent characters is Ranger Ghost, who let's us know about the trouble with Brahmin barons and Big Circle.
However, with the release of Lonesome Road, we were essentially presented with the fact that the Courier had been in cities all around the West and had been working as a Courier in the area for a considerable amount of time, surely enough that they would be familiar with both the internal politics of the NCR, and with the Legion-NCR war. There's also a dialogue option with Bruce Isaac that confirms that they've been in New Reno.We even learn that the Courier had a significant part in the fate of the Divide. But, based on dialogue we can have earlier in the game, it can be assumed that the Courier is rather ignorant of the situ... keep reading on reddit ➡
It's been discussed before, I believe. A female Courier siding with the Legion may seem one very wrong decision, but as with everything in New Vegas, there may be reasons. Like hating NCR and Vegas THAT much. Or falling for Caesar himself (or Vulpes Inculta). Or showing off a mercenary's truly unscrupulous nature. Or believing Legion can be reformed.
But there is actually one reason that outweighs all of above.
An item that can be worn with many other types of headgear and gives that magic +1 to Luck. Has great synergy with 1st Recon Beret and Ulysses' Duster for Light Armor specced builds, and they look cool, too.
And the only existing copy of them in the game is inside the Legion's Safehouse, which can only be accessed after a quest available at Liked, with no workarounds (the key can't be stolen or looted from the corpse).
And the best part? You can get Liked without crucifying people and eating kittens, in fact, not even blemishing a bit of NCR rep. Telli... keep reading on reddit ➡
I know it seems like an insignificant detail but it would be major for immersion.
I completely missed the dialogue regarding the Marked Men. If Divide Winds really is that deadly, then how come its not affecting the Courier? I was expecting like the Cloud from Sierra Madre in Hardcore mode where the entire exterior damages your health over time.
Just curious how much, on average people who deliver for STD/Door Dash/Uber Eats tip when they order food? Have you increased or decreased your usual tips since starting as a courier?
I used to only tip about $3.50 but since starting as a courier I usually tip at least $5 if the restaurant is close, a couple bucks more if it's further away because I know how much it sucks to get no tip/shitty tips.
I recently came across Idle Courier Tycoon in an ad for a mobile game I was playing. Thought the concept sounded neat, make your own UPS/FedEx. I know a few transportation games kind of touch on this, but I'm less interested in building roads and railways, and more interested in the logistical challenges of sorting and delivery.
Please I'm tired of being Donky, I just wanna be bug with bag.
The Archimedes project, the warheads of the Divide, and all the sundry world-ending technology of Big MT - out of all the various WMDs the Courier has access to in the plot of New Vegas and DLCs, what items stand out as potential game-changers for the Courier to use if they were to go to war with the Legion/NCR? How could they use these items to maintain the independence of the Mojave?
In this hypothetical situation, the Courier is a Bad Person and has no moral qualms against the mass slaughter of civilians in the process.
No tengo otra alternativa no?
En... keep reading on reddit ➡
Just wanted to thank everyone on this sub for the moral support. I just completed my Courier OA and got a 6.2. It's pretty cool to think I might actually be joining the State Department in one way or another.
However, will still be looking forward to the potential invite for a Generalist FSOA.
I live in a condo and I wrote my instructions very clearly. He texted me and said that he couldn’t reach me through the buzzing machine, I told him my code again and he still couldn’t reach me. It was 12:00 am and I was hungry as fuck so I ignored him for 10 mins until he could figure it out. He called me three times and I picked up. He put it on speaker mode to confirm the code and this idiot was doing it wrong, I told him the correct code and he got in after 15 mins. He came up and handed me the food and said sorry and used some lame excuse for being an idiot, I took it and closed the door. I rated him down for unprofessionalism and tipped him .05 cents
I heard that Uber and Lyft is threatening to pull out of California by Friday. Though what would likely happen with the rest of the gig economy include but not limited to Uber eats?
Does a submod where Courier 6 is in a form of either leader or character in a series of events exists in Steam Workshop?
This is the 3rd time I'm sending the same package from Austria to Romania to my girlfriend's family. It worked before but for some reason FAN Courier refuses to deliver it. The adress is the same as its always been. Customer support refuses to hand me the number of the driver or depot that has the package. All she tells me "Depot Timišoda" is responsible and that she will take care of it, which she hasnt for 3 days.
If you have the time please help me, the package is in Romania and I really want it to be delivered to them.
Hi Bris Redditors!
Anyone with a courier Mail subscription able to help me out by somehow reading and sending me copy of any article? I don't read the news so don't pay for it either, but article relates to an ex boss who owes me money standing trial for $3.3m cause he's scum.
Hoping it will shed light and interesting read.
DM me if you can help? Thanks!!
I understand why on meta-level but I find the BoS part of FNV to be really rough around the edges.
1st problem: entry.
If they literally isolate themselves to the point that the whole bunker is on lockdown, why do they even let you in? They literally shoot people on sight. Yes, I understand—the Elder needs someone to do errands for him and he doesn’t let his own guys out (with a few exceptions, so they don’t all starve) but it seems like letting in a random wanderer in is just... off.
Off as in stands in opposition to their code and off as in why would you even trust some random stranger to do your job and actually return with results? Hell, the first part of your quest is to find those missing patrols but what if you actually find the patrols, gather all their data, take their power armor and guns, and whatever tech they recovered? Isn’t that really against what BoS stands for? Just a random stranger getting access to all that?

Looking for Interviewees: Former Foodora couriers
My name is Youngrong Lee, a Ph.D. student at the University of Toronto. I’m conducting a study on gig workers in food delivery platforms. Gig work is taking place via technology-based apps where individuals work on a piecemeal basis, such as Uber, DoorDash, and Foodora. I would like to ask if you would be willing to participate in a 60-120 minute interview. In light of the pandemic, the interviews will be conducted online (such as Skype).
The purpose of the interview is to help me understand how the gig economy shapes workers' everyday lives. I am particularly interested in the context where Foodora left Canada in May 2020, and how it affected Foodora couriers.
This study has received ethics approval from the University of Toronto.
Participation in this study is voluntary, confidential, and not related to your employment in any way. For your time, I’d like to offer a small compensation of $30 (CAD/ e-gift card). If you choose t... keep reading on reddit ➡

Hello commanders! Im returning to the game after a break of several months, and now im looking for a relatively cheap (cus im not made outta money bro) but fun ship to do some bounty hunting / PVE in. I was wondering which of these ships are the best option and what to equip them with? I do have access to the 4 or 5 first engineers but i do not have any guardian modules / weapons except for fsd booster. The reason i chose the Imperial ships is because i love their looks (cmon, who doesnt?). Im asking because i dont know how many changes have been made since last i played, so feel free to put up to date loadouts or other ship suggestions in the commends, o7 Also, sorry for bad format im on mobile :(
I've been delivering for PM/DD/etc for a little bit now, and I wanted to see if any other young female couriers have either safety tips or experiences they'd like to share. I've been harassed & made really uncomfortable by merchants, customers, and anyone in between. Whether it's snide comments or straight up sexual advances while WORKING, I take as many precautions I can really think of while doing this job (which I love)- I only work while it's still light out (not sure I'm going to be able to keep that up in the winter), staying in suburbs and surrounding areas so delivering to mainly families, keeping my keys on me and staying alert etc. Being harassed is obviously nothing new to me, but I am definitely much more exposed and ~vulnerable~ at this job, as I'm constantly in and out of my car/restaurants, and have no coworkers or managers that have my back or someone to report to.
Most of the couriers I see in person at restaurants are men, so I just wanted to hear from any women... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hi! Sorry if this seems unrelated to this reddit, but I'm wondering if anyone's had to ship something from the US to CA (lol it's makeup), and how they did it? I ordered something to a friend in the US and I want them to ship it to me in Canada and I'm wondering if any of you have done that before, which courier you used and how did you keep costs low?
Just need to transfer some weapons to my mule :)
