The cost of fixing Cyberpunk 2077 is "irrelevant" compared to restoring company reputation, says CDPR - CDPR promisses to fix the game at any cost

When asked about the costs of patching the game on consoles Michal Nowakowski, member of the board for publishing, said, "The cost of patching the game is irrelevant [compared] to what we have at stake/spent at this moment, so there is no question about it. We definitely want to fix the game, we made our promise to gamers, and we will be doing everything to stick to it[...]"

Adam KiciΕ„ski, CD Projekt Red co-CEO, began talking about only showing the game on certain platforms before launch, saying that this caused the loss of gamers' trust and the reputation that they've been building through a big part of our lives. He said, "That’s why our first steps are solely focused on regaining those two things. We are concentrated on fixing Cyberpunk on last-gen consoles."

KiciΕ„ski also reiterated from a previous statement that was released yesterday regarding the current state of console versions, saying, "The first substantial set of fixes was released over the weekend. The next set of fixes will be released within the next 7 days. Big updates are planned for January and February, together with smaller fixes. Of course, PC gamers will also be getting regular updates and fixes. We'll do everything possible to prove that we stick to our values. We truly hope that our efforts will let us rebuild the trust we have lost."

The real costs of aging and impact on adult children planning for FIRE

I have been experiencing some of the hardest days of my life and wanted to reinforce that conventional FIRE planning does not do a great job of considering the challenges of old age and a child’s role in helping their parents. My fathers expenses have more than doubled since my mother died. He has a degenerative disease and has to pay for people to come to his house to help with things like making food and getting dressed. My FIRE budget certainly would not cover these kinds of expenses. In our area, its impossible to find reliable home aids who would be covered under Medicaid after he runs out of money (which will happen this year). So his only other option would be a nursing home. Until he is vaccinated, that is not an option. My family lives in a small home and we have lived a frugal lifestyle. I have no where to put him in my own home and he wouldn’t want to move here anyway. My expenses have also increased as I travel often to see my father and help in any way I can. For those who already live a conservative lifestyle, don’t fall into the trap of planning a retirement budget of 80-100% of your pre-retirement expenses. I am adjusting my approach and setting 150% as my new target. This is causing me to have to completely rewrite my plans. Most elderly people are not going for a walk in the park one day and dead the next. The process can be ugly, time consuming, and expensive. That mini-retirement I was planning may be spent as a caregiver for a parent. If you successfully apply the FIRE principles, people will know it and will come to you for help. Even if they don’t ask, you may feel compelled. Maybe not a parent, but someone close that you care about. Are you prepared for this? (I wasn't)

I'm genuinely curious. Why are tips paid in percentages, like why does it matter the cost of the meal if they are both served in the same plate?

For example, why should I pay 20% for a plate of Chicken Caesar Salad that costs $10, but also expect to pay 20% for the exact same type of plate but with an expensive steak that costs $100. The waiter in both cases does the same thing, punch in the order, wait for the order, brings it to the table, asks us if we need anything else, gives us water...etc. But in the end I pay $10+$2, or $100+$20 for the waiter basically doing the exact same thing. I just want to understand, thank you!

I lied on my Resume and its going to cost me my job before I even start...

As the title says. I did the wrong thing and am going to pay for it. Long story short, Covid hit me hard last year and I have been out of work since August 2020. Decided in early December that to help myself stand out against so many other applicants I would exaggerate the amount of time in each job I actually worked.

For example, I told them on my resume that I had worked at a place with the experience they were most interested in for 14 months when in reality I lasted only 6 months..

Needless to say, I guess it kinda worked. Applied for the job Christmas morning, did the interviews earlier this week and was offered the job yesterday morning. They advised me at this point I would be getting an email from a place called Fit2work here in Australia. They essentially perform background checks to make sure applicants don't have a criminal record and do credit checks but worst of all... pre employment checks!!

Looking into it further, it would seem this company is able to access and request information from my previous employers regarding my past employment there including dates and reason for leaving.

So I feel impending doom is on the forecast for me already this year... I assume they will be able to verify I did actually work at these places but the dates are going to be wildy different. I also assume this will mean they will retract the offer of employment...

Hope someone else sees this and doesn't repeat my mistakes. It's my fault but boy is it going to cost me at a time I need a job the most.

Other women homeowners out there, I’d love to hear your insights, successes, and learning opportunities.

Thank you ladies for being ever-inspiring!

Edit: I know, I know, an edit, I’m sorry. I just wanted to say I am so grateful to everyone for the cheers and encouragement and support. You all are amazing, and several of you have brought tears of pride (and laughter!) to my eyes. Thank you all!

Another edit: Guys. My brother just called me to say, "I saw this post on the Reddit front page and it reminded me so much of you I was reading through it and it IS you." I have now peaked in life. Thanks again to all you wonderful folks for the awards and the dopamine hits.
