Originally from Spain and currently living and working in Cork with 72k€ salary per annun (contractor for a Medical Device company)
I've been offered a 110.000CHF permanent salary in Switzerland (Fribourg).
Would you make the move? I'm saving around 2000€ per month in Cork. Would I have higher savings capacity in Switzerland?
I'm in my late 30s , living with my partner. She would have to find a new job in Switzerland.
I'm sick and tired of level 5 lockdown. I have not been able to visit my grandmother for 12 months. I am set to pull my eyes out from staring at the same four walls.
I also recognise that COVID 19 is real and would have a devastating impact on our population if allowed to go uncontrolled. We saw what happened at Christmas, we were given free movement and for the month of January our hospitals were over run, our medical staff were burnt out and people died.
I hate lockdown, it's no way to live. However, there is an end in sight. The vaccine is being rolled out and life will go back to normal. There is light at the end of the tunnel and breaking lockdown now is falling at the final hurdle.
These protests are a kick in the teeth to everyone who has been doing what they can to prevent spreading the virus. What isn't seen in the streets are the thousands of people who disagree with the protest. Media coverage should read 542,000 people of cork do not attend anti lockdown protest.
Anyway, roll on the vaccine and let's enjoy a future where we can shake a stranger's hand, go for a pint with the lads, attend a concert and put all of this behind us.

I'm bracing for a hard correction in the next couple days simply because the sentiment in this sub is like New Year's at 11:59.
When the sub starts being doom and gloom again, that'll be my re-entry point.
