What's the difference? Is one better than the others?
Hello!
Iβm an incoming freshman at auburn and am wondering which I should pick for my major. Are the career options the same? Schedule wise, they are pretty much the same classes but software engineering specifies some of the sciences I need to take. I can skip some of the computer science sciences because of my ap scores. Which one should I choose?
Hi, I am joining UBC this upcoming September and majoring in Computer Science. I have just have a few questions..
How is UBC's computer science program compared to other universities in Canada?
I am interested in minoring in Commerce, does anyone have any experience with this and any recommendations?
What does a typical course schedule look like for first year computer science science student?
How are the coop opportunities at UBC, do the majority of people get the chance to work? Which companies are usually associated with providing jobs for the students at UBC?
Thanks a lot, looking forward to meeting all of you soon!
Are you satisfied? Did it meet or exceed your expectations financially?
More importantly, are you happy with your decision? What would you change about it if anything?

My research examines how extremist groups leverage technology to create propaganda, recruit members to ideological causes, inspire acts of violence and impact democratic institutions. I am particularly interested on the nexus of technology and extremist ideologies, and I use a combination of data science and digital ethnography to research extremist groups in particular QAnon.
I have appeared as a guest on numerous podcasts including QAnon Anonymous, and have been interviewed in several publications including the BBC, ABC News, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and WIRED. I wish people would stop being bewildered by women who like working on cars or who want to be independent. We need to stop acting like female scientists, doctors, musicians, writers, are just exceptions or that they aren't as good as men anyway. I hate how boys are put in boy scouts where they actually learn useful skills and girls scouts is mainly still seen as making crafts and selling cookies. it bothers me that we wonder why femininity is seen as weak, when weakness is how femininity is defined. Why is encouraging girls to want to be strong and independent seen as such a bad thing.
Hello everyone, currently I am a 22 year old college student who works at a phone company with some good benefits some of them which include tuition reimbursement. I get paid around 40k a year working 32 hours a week. But my dream is to be a software engineer and the starting salary for software engineers is 70k realistically and Iβm pretty sure I can get more than that if I really put my mind into it because really big companies recruit at my school. After recently starting my semester, I have noticed that this job is time consuming and some weeks I can work 40 hours a week and my classes are quite demanding. I have around 10k in my 401k and 2k in stocks that I can cash out before I quit. I currently donβt pay rent, and only have a phone bill and light bill to pay. My plan is to take out student loans for other living expenses and doing postmates, ubereats, instacart, to fill in some of the gaps. I can also study and obtain paid internships throughout this time. Is this a bad idea?

Hi, I've just started learning computer science and I'm new there. I was wondering if I could pursue computer science if I'm bad at Math. Thanks in advance!
Got into a decent school for Fall 2021. The political instability and the constantly changing visa rules, scare me a bit. What do you guys think?
Edit: Masters degree btw
Iβm a 37 year old with a BA in history and Iβm looking to move into computer programming. Iβve been studying web development but I am also very interested in iOS development.Iβve done html and css and now I am working on JavaScript. Currently Iβm self teaching. The thing is, Iβm not the best self motivator and I was thinking about going back to get a computer science degree. Then I would have accountability and Iβve done a degree before so I know I can complete a degree, although I know cs is very different from history. Plus, I know that some jobs wonβt even consider you unless you have a cs degree. My main concern is that while I did fine (As and Bs) on the math I had to take before, itβs my weakest subject by far. I even have a learning disability similar to dyslexia called dyscalculia. Itβs basically dyslexia for math. So the math requirements worry me. Would you say that a computer science degree is doable for someone who struggles with math, or should I stick to the self taught rout? Below is the course requirements for a cs degree at my local university. I have googled this, and searched this subreddit, but I havenβt really found the answer yet to my question.

I used to think that saying was a little dramatic. You canβt actually do anything you set your mind to. But it is an inspiring saying.
However, with programming, you literally can do anything you set your mind to. Iβve never been involved with something where if I had an idea, I could make it come to fruition.
This is both the most unique, and best aspect, of computer science. If you have a computer, a text editor, and knowledge you can make anything you want.
