[TOMT][MOVIE][Probably before 2005] It is an old movie, probably before 2005, where a guy is sleeping and a cockroach enter his bedroom, walks through an electric socket where his computer and other stuff are plugged, then it kinda gets "electrified" and enter the man's mouth. He is later found dead with several bite wounds made from inside-out his body.
As the proud owner of a big box of Madagascar hissing cockroaches, I thought Huel might be a great food for them instead of the "roach chow" I would sometimes give them.
Last night I tried them on it. They devoured it. Has anyone else tried using Huel to power something other than humans?
Wth its climbing up the wall what do I do im naked omg. Im gonna die
Hello, I’ve been living in a cockroach infested building for about 6 years. I’m not on the lease but my roommate is.
We’ve complained to our landlord about this and he insists that he can only spray our unit and doesn’t want to pay for the whole building. We’ve had it done several times over the years but the cockroaches come back within days.
It doesn’t matter how much we clean, if we simply lift a picture frame from the wall then all the roaches will swarm out at once. And that’s with almost every item in the home that stays in one place for a long time. Roaches don’t even startle me anymore.
Thousands of dollars worth of our appliances and electronics have been ruined and infested. And my asthma is the worst it has ever been in my life since living here.
It’s easy to say “move out”, but with our recent financial situation, it hasn’t been possible. What can we do about this? Can we sue? Should we try and connect with other tenants about this? What can we possibly do?
Please help. Thank you.
Edit: yeah, I know it’s been a while. But honestly we have complained plenty and gotten our apt bombed many times but they just keep coming back because it’s not just our unit. The problem is the building. And we don’t know what to do legally about this. Better late then never, right?
Hey guys, could use some advice on my recent experience so I know what is considered reasonable here.
My partner and I booked an airbnb for three nights in a city where there are not a lot of options for "Entire place to yourself". We decided to go for a high-end apartment ($150/night including cleaning fee) in a modern looking building that was in a perfect location. Upon check-in we were told there was a guest staying in our chosen apartment and we would be given a "nicer" place with an extra bedroom (there's just two of us so that's not a benefit by any means). When we moved in we noticed the place was heavily damaged and not maintained (wifi not working, dirty kitchen, broken window blinds, fused bulbs in bathrooms) and overall really awful furniture that did not look nearly as good as our initial choice.
An hour after moving in my partner decided to complain, initially we were told they would send cleaners but we didn't care to direct a clew to get the place ready for us. So we were offered to checkout another apartment. We did a walk through and the place looked much cleaner and more functional so we thanked our host and settled in.
We spent the first night visiting friends and only using the place to sleep. During the second day we began noticing cockroaches. And I mean an entire colony in the kitchen cabinet, couple running through the fridge. We figured it's just one more day so while we were disgusted we knew our options were limited. We thought it was best just to stay away from the kitchen. Our third and final night the roaches really got comfortable and we began finding them throughout the apartment. The last straw was when one crawled near my head while I was laying in bed. We immediately packed everything and left the apartment eight hours before our checkout.
I emailed airbnb during the last night with pictures and videos of the cockroaches and did not bother to discuss this with the host as this was already not the apartment we booked. They opened a support ticket two days ago but have not replied. I realize we almost spent the entirety of our stay before being overwhelmed enough to leave so it is unreasonable to expect any kind of refund here? If this were a cheap apartment we could justify it as "you get what you pay for" but this was clearly a host that didn't care to maintain their properties while charging market prices. I feel disgusting knowing they were crawling on the bed while I slept in ignorance.

My county code enforcement office is understaffed and over burdened. They have one officer running the entire office. No office staff or anything. So they are unwilling to legally enforce any issues which are not considered life threatening. Now, while cockroaches can be life threatening, it's not the same as a dilapidated building or black mold infestation.
Over a year now, I've been fighting the issues here; cockroach infestation, collapsed ceiling, non sealing windows and doors. I developed a device to capture cockroaches easily and save them for legal proof in court. I'm about ready to take the device make my landlord eat the cockroaches. This is insane. I've captured over 4,000 in the last year. He's gonna be here tomorrow and I'm damn read to bitch slap him with a roach wand.
Where are you (바퀴) was written by the lovely Jonghyun and it features a kazoo solo. It's about him looking over at cockroaches who supposedly found love and Jonghyun's grumbling about when he'll find someone like those cockroaches found each other. I can't believe I didn't know this existed until now! Jonghyun's song writing capabilities have just earned more of my respect because it's so catchy and relatable lol
