as far as i know, your feet will have difficulty growing if it's confined in something too small for it. He grows to an adult, how does his feet even survive in that? It must be crazy uncomfortable too.
In Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Flint Lockwood launches a machine into the clouds that makes it rain food down on his island home by typing in whatever input he wants the food to rain down as. But then the movie hits its climax and giant food starts raining down and trashing the island, and all of the citizens have to escape to safety on rafts while Flint goes up to the clouds to shut down his machine.
What kind of food would be a most appropriate material to make a sea-worthy raft out of?
That sounds like an awesome Food Theory if you ask me!
Edit: oh ho ho ho 300+ upvotes, I've hit the jackpot on this one!
So I donβt know if this is lost media but I did some research and I canβt seem to find any footage of it or maybe Iβm not looking hard enough. Anyway years ago in 2011 I went on holiday to England and me and my family went to an amusement park (I donβt remember what the name of it of was) and they had a 4D ride like Shrek 4D that they have at universal studios. But anyway the movie was just a 10 minute or 15 minute recap of cloudy with a chance of meatballs with VoiceOver from the main character Flint Lockwood recapping the events of the film and at certainparts your chairs would shake and water would be sprayed in your face to correspond with the events of the film. I donβt think there was any New animation they made for the 4D version. But I donβt know they couldβve been it was a long time ago. If anyone knows any information about the film please let me know. Cheers
I'm surprised he didn't cover this movie yet, considering how much it has do with with food. It would be the perfect opportnity to crossover/promote his food theory channel.
My sweet husband put this movie on, now me the pregnant person wants almost every food it shows!
Spaghetti w/meatballs Pizza Garlic bread Sushi Steak! Salad Grilled cheese
Just my mouth is drooling I need these foods!
It is several years old, being a 2009 film, but I was just thinking about the science behind the machine in a cloudy with a chance of meatballs. The in film explanation is, the machine takes water molecules and moves around the molecules/atoms to make whatever food. After grade school science class however we learn that is not actually possible with how atoms work. BUT if a machine could SAFELY pull apart the protons, neutrons, electrons of water's atoms, it could theoretically make whatever atoms/ string of atoms(molecules) and make whatever substance possible.... not only food. There are a few different directions that could be taken to have a full videos run time. The dangerous nature of splitting atoms, the energy that is required to power the machine, (I think he uses powerlines in the movie) what being able to create any substance would do to an economy, why the hell the food becomes sentient, etc. The only issue I find is that it is an older movie and probably less interesting for film theory...... UNLESS it could be spun to land on food theory, so I will post this on both subreddits.

Flint Lockwood is the son of a Bait and Tackle shop owner on an island known as Swallow Falls. Well, not really known - it's hidden under the A in Atlantic on the map, and has just a single town on it entirely dedicated to its sardine canning industry. He grew up with a passion for out-there science, pursuing crazier and crazier inventions despite the lack of support from his father and chastisement from his classmates. As an adult, he's largely a public menace on the island due to his various failed inventions, however this all changes when he invents the "Flint Lockwood Diatonic Super Mutating Dynamic Food Replicator" or FLDSMDFR for short, a device that miraculously converts pure water into food.
When the device is ejected into the atmosphere, it begins to cause it to rain food - changing the entire dynamic of Swallow Falls, and testing if he can stay true to himself in the face of sudden fame and fortune.
Flint is, well, surprisingly a guy with a lot of experience putting himself in danger. As a scientist he tries to solve problems in innovative and creative ways, for better or worse, and has an assortment of inventions on-hand at any given moment to help him against whatever he's facing.

##"You know what you are, Flint Lockwood? A shenaniganizer! A tomfool!"
Officer Earl is a member of Swallow Fall's police force - a happy father with a loving wife that frequently busts Flint while he's making some kind of wacky invention what might destroy the town. Despite having a no-nonsense attitude regarding his job, he's willing to put aside paste grievances with Flint and supports him in his endeavors to fix the damage he (and the town) caused with the FLDSMDFR.
He's a comically strong and agile police officer that frequently grapples his enemies to take them out. There's not really much that stops him in-universe when he sets his sights on an enemy or obstacle, besides police tape, which he's notably weak to.
