I bought some shares of Cloudera when I first started investing, assuming it would go up more than it currently has. I did my DD and considered it a steal at the time. I am still holding long term but I grow more wary by the day. Is anyone bullish about this company? What are your thoughts?
I am following this deployment guide to setup a cloudera cluster in AWS. I tried using both CF templates provided -
Both seem to have problems. The template for 'existing VPC' option auto populates a VPC ID that I cannot find in my account. It also is not able to auto populate key-pair names that are already available in my account. And the AZ drop down only shows US-east-2 options, while my VPC is in US-east-1. I tried modifying the template by setting default options for VPC and keypair names, but I dont know how to fix the AZs dropdown. When I run the modified template, I get the following error:
Template error: Fn::Select cannot select nonexistent value at index 1
What do you guys think of Cloudera? They have a unique set of tools for cloud and with low market cap and room to grow. I've also seen more and more analyst talking about them which will bring new investors into play.
I'm interested to see what you guys think of Cloudera.
I have offers from Citrix and Cloudera; I'm still waiting/interviewing with HRT, RTI (Real Time Innovations), and Snowflake. I'm a rising junior so this will be my only internship before graduating.
Thoughts from anyone who has interned/worked at any of those 5 places?
Citrix (32/hr):
Cloudera (50/hr):
EDIT: Pay is only one factor. I'm mainly wanting to know which companies have the best track record of giving interns a positive, supportive learning experience and giving them real projects that are reflective of what full time engineers do.
I have this same question.
Given enough time, won't Big Tech's cloud services (namely Amazon, Microsoft, and Google) outrank or overtake these smaller cloud companies and offer the same services?
How do these smaller cloud companies differ? How did they even crop up into existence? I'm dumbfounded Big Tech didn't acquire them when they were starting to crush them. Why haven't Big Tech acquired them now?
