Doing a rewatch (for the 100th time) and I feel like even before Tom and Sybil, Mr. Carson felt disdain towards Tom. I'm wondering where the chauffeur falls in the "downstairs hierarchy". I tried searching google, but couldn't seem to find the right keywords to search.
the fuck-up isn't over yet, but at least I have a few hours to sleep (?)
Been in this middle eastern country for a few days and I never felt so confident; getting matches on Tinder like I'm Brad Pitt
First date lined up was for earlier today, so I agree to meet this (hot) girl at the hotel where she's staying (una hotel because she was here to visit family, she was supposed to travel first thing tomorrow morning, so whatever) and we start ordering drinks. Couple hours go by and so do about 10 glasses of champagne each, then she proposes we go dance to a place she scouted earlier during the day (allegedly). The check arrives and I pay the whopping equivalent of 1325$. I try to reason with the waiter that the menu didn't specify that the price of 50$ for the champagne was meant per glass, and not per bottle, but to no avail (such prices are for a whole bottle in Europe, hence my complete and total surprise), the girl offers to help with the payment but what that does only motivates me to give my credit card to the waiter and go to the other place to dance the night away. Tried to make nothing of the fact that she seemed to very much enjoy drinking with me in the meanwhile
The second place was super close, unmarked but it seemed to have a good number of customers (and I was tipsy by that point) so we go take a seat. Turns out it was a sort of night club with live music, and upon hearing the live music come on my date seemed to really get in the mood and was all over me, but before reciprocating I studied the menu thoroughly and it seemed okay. What I completely ignored -regretfully- was that my date kept telling the waiters that the drinks weren't right, or she generally ordered them to be refreshed very frequently, which of course served to inflate the check at the end
When we finally get to dance she asks me to do something I'm yet to fully understand: to ask the dude who was singing to "cheer" us on. I asked the singer if he could do that and what it entailed, and he was pretty straightforward: 100$ on my cheque firstly, some extra attention from the waiters, and that he would mention our names out loud saying what great patrons we were etc. So I told the chick I wasn't feeling up to it, and she went Um okay let's go back to our table. Once seared she explained a "cheer" from the singer would mean extra followers on her instagram and that it would really boost her prestige lol (she said she had 3.6 million followers, but conveniently forgot to s... keep reading on reddit ➡
I haven't had a car for the last 15 years. Frankly I like it that way. But it seems I will need to relocate to a place where it would be practical to own a car. The thing is, I really don't like driving all that much so I am thinking of getting a chauffeur.
What would be a nice car to be driven around in? Something not too flashy and that can blend in would be a great. If I can take the car for a spin on my own that's another plus.
This was the first thing I thought about hearing the strumming, Deftones - "The Chauffeur"
Judge yourselves :)

Change my mind.
I haven't had a car for the last 15 years. Mostly because I'm only 15 and my Dad's filthy rich and so I generally use his chauffeur. Frankly I like it that way but Dad says I need to be more independent. But it seems I will need to relocate to a place where it would be practical to own a car. I'm thinking Los Angeles so I can find myself a Hot Girlfriend™. The thing is, I really don't like driving all that much so I am thinking of getting a chauffeur - preferably one who works for free, is available 24/7 and has all his teeth.

not too flashy and that can blend in stands out would be a great. If I can take the car for a spin on my own to make other people jealous that's another plus.
