Airlines must take steps to keep carbon emissions down when flights resume so that the lower levels recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic can be entrenched, PM Boris Johnson said: “Inadvertently, the planet this year will (have) greatly reduced its CO2 emissions ...we need to entrench those gains” uk.reuters.com/article/us…
Your average Joe doesn't have to reduce his carbon footprint and aid against climate change until big corporations and governments start trying.
Pretty much, the average person's attempts to minimize their effect on climate change is a very valiant cause, but will do nothing in the long-run until corporations and governments own up to their shortcomings and do something about it. Governments burning fossil fuels and corporations dumping trash into the oceans and not doing anything to reduce their carbon footprints is going to be the last straw for humans. If we continue like this, then climate change is in my opinion going to be the one that kills a majority of the population. The quote, "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link" really applies here. It's great that people do their bit in helping, but until governments and companies do something, the world will continue in the downward spiral that it's on. Until governments start use renewable energy instead of coal or corporations reduce their carbon footprint, you or I don't have to do anything because our small contribution won't really change anything.
Yeah, a person

Carbon fiber nylon prints look so clean!
AskScience AMA Series: Hello Reddit! We're a group of climate researchers and engineers working on new technologies to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Ask us anything!
We're Nan Ransohoff and Ryan Orbuch from the Climate team at Stripe. Our work to mitigate the threat of climate change focuses on an underexplored part of the problem-removing carbon from the atmosphere directly, which is essential if the world is to meet its warming targets. Last week, after a rigorous search and review from independent scientific experts, we announced Stripe's first purchases from four negative emissions projects with great potential. We hope this will help create a large and competitive market for carbon removal.

TIL that Carbon Skimmers DELETE carbon dioxide, and don't just pump it elsewhere.
I don't know why, but I always thought that it was just an early-early-game efficient, compact carbon dioxide filter that could pump it out of one's base.
I've always had problems with Carbon Dioxide, and in one of my largest colonies I unfortunately found a hyper-compressed pocket of carbon dioxide that overpressured the lower levels so bad that my Duplicants' ears popped. I filled a huge room with Gas Reservoirs and high pressure vents, and tried pumping the massive amount of carbon dioxide into there. It barely made a dent. And I didn't seem to realize that each Algae Terrarium removed only 333 mg of carbon dioxide per second.
I have over 200 hours in this game, and am just now finding out that an early game building can delete massive quantities of carbon dioxide: efficiently enough for one coal generator to run a cheap system that deletes 1.2 kg/s (the generator only releases 20 g/s). Fuck me.

On April 20th, 1977, Harriet Carr found her husband, Ted, dead on the floor of their garage. He had died of carbon monoxide poisoning, as did the three people Harriet discovered in the trunk of Teds car. How many unknown victims have fell prey to Ted Carr?
ETA: title should say fallen not fell.
On April 20th 1977, around 4:30 A.M., Harriet Carr, who lived at 940 North Olney Street in Indianapolis, Indiana, noticed her garage door was slightly ajar and went to investigate. She entered the garage to find her husband, 62-year-old Melvin “Ted” Carr, dead of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Harriet rushed inside to turn off the still running car, only to discover her husband wasn’t the only one in the garage. In the open trunk of Teds car, Harriet saw three bodies; a woman, a teenage girl, and a very young boy. As Harriet ran screaming from the garage, neighbors called police.
The three bodies found in Teds trunk were identified as 24-year-old Karen Nills, her 2-year-old son Robert, and a 17-year-old girl named Sandra Harris. All three were killed by carbon monoxide poisoning, and it was determined that both Karen and Sandra had been sexually assaulted.
Police located a loaded .25 caliber revolver in Teds pocket, and noted Ted was carrying
