Canvas Login Issues (Requiring Microsoft login)

TL/DR: Canvas login requiring me to login to Microsoft account leading to a stale page

Hello all. Hoping someone can help me out with a canvas login issue I started having last week.

After entering canvas login info, followed by 2FA, I am prompted to login to PSU organizational Microsoft account. Upon attempting to login to the PSU Microsoft account I had created to access bookshelf, teams, or whatever it was at one point I created a PSU specific Microsoft account for in the past I am lead to an official PSU- stale request page.

This issue popped up last week, across chrome, edge, and Firefox, on both my personal and work computers. I was able to access canvas through Firefox on my personal as of last night, but now all browsers across two devices are leading me to this stale page.

I am actively taking a course at a JUCO that requires Microsoft account login to access their blackboard, as well as having to use a separate organizational Microsoft login to access teams for work on my work laptop. Deleting these two other accounts is not an option, at least not on my work laptop. However, I do try to sneak in PSU course work on my work laptop (and try to do all of my half-asses JUCO submissions on work time) while at work. Last week was the first time I have ever been prompted to login to a Microsoft account for canvas.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Update: Realized my Canvas login issue is probably due to being logged into my other schools Microsoft username on each browser I tried (didn’t realize I was logged into the other institution still). Though, to my defense, I have never been prompted to login to my PSU Microsoft credentials for Canvas before last week, and still do not understand how I can be logged into my organization’s teams credentials, and PSU, or my other academic institution’s, at the same time without issue, but only raises problems between PSU and the JUCO.

Fix: Ensured I logged out of my other institutions blackboard/etc. on whatever browser in order to access Canvas/Lion Path/[PSU] etc.

Student's canva is gone despite being able to login. What happened?

Sorry folks, I don't know who to ask or how any of this stuff works and my daughter isn't able to help.

I usually do any classes in person however recently I've been teaching and subbing online. I am having my biomed students do a final project and my daughter recommended presi or canva, I set with canva because it was simple enough for me to navigate with internet help. For some of them it was their first time using it but upon starting it went well. A few days in I verified with all of them to see if they got through the case intro without needing anything. Now we are a week in, with 3 days left. A student, who had been verified, came onto zoom with the news sunshine happened. She messaged me telling me she logged on and her project was not there. I got into her account and alas, no project. The project she verified was gone but no other issues with her account. No issues with her Google or the slides she used for notes/other assignments. No other students are having issues however she is the only student who uses both phone and laptop while other are laptop, so maybe that did something.

Being biomed, I know it's a hard subject and easy to get behind in due to being so interactive and I know this online crap is hard. But this student has always been pretty quiet, doesn't do the best but has always tried. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt and try to figure this out, instead of her either giving up and failing, having to redo a whole project or come out to be lying about accidentally deleting it.

If I keep Canvas, Workday, and other University apps open for days, why do they show that "stale request" page when they automatically logout, instead of just taking me back to the login page like every other website I've ever used? Does anyone else find this annoying?

Can you login to Canvas if you lose/break your phone with Duo?

Pretty paranoid about something happening to my phone and not being able to turn something in, especially closer to deadlines when I might not have a chance to explain myself/be believable. Are there any options to reach out to UFIT or something when this happens?

Canvas Login Down?

EDIT: It's back up.

Has anybody else tried to login to Canvas and it not work? I've noticed that if you're logged in already everything will be fine, but it seems that any new logins fail.

I've sent tickets to oit and Instructure.

If any of you want to help determine if the problem is me or the system, you can open a new tab/browser and try to login with your username and password and see if it works.

Canvas Login problem

I let my friend sign into Canvas on chrome on my laptop but now it won't let me sign out and resign in as myself. Does anyone know how to get it to let me sign back in? When I go to the web-access page, it doesn't bring me to the login page, it auto-signs in instead. Luckily I can log in from other places like safari or firefox but I would like to have my canvas page back on chrome. Thanks!

Canvas Design similar to Discord's login page?

I tried seeing exactly how Discord does it https://discordapp.com/login but couldn't get very far with their webpack stuff. I don't even care about the mouse/particle interaction per se - but does anybody have any references to making a "wobbly/wavy" canvas with JS?

Is there something I am missing about canvas login?

Olay so I can login to testudo just fine using my AD login, and I am 99% I used the same login to access ELMS/canvas last week. I just tried to login to canvas and it says invalid username/password. Is there something wrong with canvas authentication, or am I just missing something?

The reason I ask is because I got a notification email for an announcement that says the homework due date has been delayed to Wednesday. That is all the announcement says, and it doesn't say which class it is for. All of my classes meet on Wednesdays.

EDIT: the problem seems to have resolved itself.

FOR ANYONE WHO CAN'T GET THE CANVAS IOS APP TO LET THEM LOGIN!!!!

When you go into the app and go to search for the campus url, don't search for uab or birmingham. Yes it pulls something up but the url that whoever actually input the url for UAB used the wrong thing. The search pulls up "uabonline.instructure.com" this is WRONG. Type into the search bar "uab.instructure.com" and then simply login with your blazerid and password and it should work no problem.

FB.login() problems and image sharing, working for me but not others. Help me share canvas images!

I hope you won't mind the lengthy post, but if I could get this working I think a lot of people would be interested in using this code in their own HTML5 canvas applications. What I am trying to do is to build an application with an HTML5 canvas, and when a button is clicked, the image is retrieved using toDataURL(), and posted to Facebook directly without intermediate upload to the webpage host server.

I THOUGHT I had it all working - works for me on my personal FB account, and for test users that I set up, but I am getting reports from friends (seemingly all of them) that it is failing for them.

(You can check out the app here if you're interested: http://rectangleworld.com/PaperSnowflake/)

To be honest, I don't really know what I'm doing here, but I've pieced together some code from some online sources.

Here is the relevant code...

On a button click, the following function is called:

function btnShareHandler() {
    drawExportCanvas();
    postCanvasToFacebook(exportCanvas, shareTextArea.value)
}

The drawExportCanvas() function is not interesting - it just draws the image to an off-screen canvas. Here is the postCanvasToFacebook function:

function postCanvasToFacebook(sourceCanvas, message) {
    var data = sourceCanvas.toDataURL("image/png");
    var encodedPng = data.substring(data.indexOf(',') + 1, data.length);
    var decodedPng = Base64Binary.decode(encodedPng);
    var fileName = "generated_image";

    FB.login(function(response) {// do the following once login happens
	    if (response.authResponse) {// check what happened
		    postImageToFacebook(FB.getAuthResponse()['accessToken'], fileName, "image/png", decodedPng, message);
		    alert("Posted to Facebook!");
	    }
	    else {
		     alert("user login problem!");
		     console.log('User cancelled login or did not fully authorize.');
	    }
      },{scope: "publish_stream"});
};

It seems that everyone who tests this (except me and my test user accounts!) makes it into the "else" block, with the alert "user login problem!" appearing. I can show you the code for the postImageToFacebook function, but it doesn't seem relevant to this problem because no one is making it that far. If you're interested see the JavaScript here: http://rectangleworld.com/PaperSnowflake/js/facebook-canvas-post.js (note that I copied most of this code from another source, acknowledged in the code comments).

Anyone have any clue why everyone is being sent into that "el
