STOLEN BIKE - Custom Cannondale Synapse, Taken near REI

Photos of the bike

Bike Index Link

Sadly, my road partner was stolen yesterday April 20th around 5-6pm on 3rd and L St NE right behind the REI. It is a one of a kind Cannondale Synapse with lots of custom parts, so I'm hoping it should be easy to identify.

- 53cm Cannondale Synapse Frame

- Prime Carbon Wheels (Yellow Sidewall Tires)

- Fizik Saddle

- Favero Assioma Power Pedals

- Latest Shimano 105 Groupset

- Rear Light and Lead Out Gear Burrito Bag attached at time of theft

I know it's a long shot, but if you happen to see it abandoned on the road somewhere or if it pops up on a used marketplace I would be so grateful for a heads up. Thanks

2020 Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 or Specialized Roubaix Sport

Hi everyone I am looking to buy my first road bike and I've narrowed my choices down to these two options. Both are available to me and price is fairly similar. I will primarily be riding in the city which will have cracked pavement, but no gravel riding. I am looking to hear from people who have experience riding both bikes in their latest versions. Would anyone be able to compare the differences and contrast? Ideally you would comment on responsiveness, comfort, handling, overall experience, etc.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

New Bike: Cannondale SuperX (CX) or Synapse (Endurance)?

Hellooh. I'm thinking between those two. My understanding is Synapse is slightly faster at acceleration and downhills, while also more comfortable for longer rides.

Then again SuperX is my 4-year long dream after one guy in Reddit said the difference between CAADX (which I don't own) and SuperX was night and day. I'd also imagine with the wider tyres the _SuperX_ is more comfortable (e.g. 37-40mm Schwalbe Marathon Supreme tubeless).

I would mostly be doing tarmac with occasional gravel and things (no "true" offroad).

Cannondale synapse 105

Hi all, am looking to make a re-entry into cycling and considering some bikes but wanted to see if anyone specifically had experience or thoughts on the Cannondale Synapse whether in Carbon or Alloy format? Would you buy it again, pros and cons etc. Understand that bike preference and fit are subjective but I’m looking for any pointers on the build, stock gear, whether you’d swap anything out if you could. Any help would be appreciated.

Can I get a price check? 2009 Cannondale Synapse

Looking at buying this bike, 2009 Cannondale Synapse. Carbon frame, ultegra group set, Rolf Vigor wheels. Seller is asking $800, Bike Blue Book says $350. $350 seems insultingly low even for a 12 year old bike.

Thanks in advance

Cannondale Synapse Carbon 105 buyers remorse (vs Topstone 1)

Long story short, I'm getting into cycling with expected 75/25 paved/non-paved riding with that non-paved riding is mostly being fire roads, and I do occasionally like to ride through trails forest, but nothing hardcore like mount biking. So after long research I ended up with Cannondale Topstone in mind with solid equipment (ideally 105 or GRX group set). With my height of 5' 8" and 29" inseam I need Small size of the frame and I've been looking for one like this in NYC area for a quite some time with no avail and being constantly told that most probably it won't be available till late fall or early '22.
I wanted to stay with Cannondale (don't ask why, probably unreasonable preference) so I researched a little more and concluded that Synapse in 51 size could be a good second option so I started looking for both and after online search and a couple rounds of calling each Cannondale retailer around my area, I found Synapse Carbon 105 a couple of days ago and, afraid of not being able to find any desired bike at all any time soon, I pulled the trigger. It ended up being about $1K more expensive than I targeted for a Topstone 1 (Al), but I didn't want to lose the season and I do really need to shave some weight for health reasons, while running is not my thing.
But today Topstone 1 in size M (which should still technically work for me, based on the size chart) appeared online at one store and now I'm having buyers remorse. And it's not even a question of money, but rather whether Synapse will be able to give me all the types of riding I want to do. I'm not going to be a competitive rider, so max speed is not critical, but ability to fit anything wider than 32c tire probably is. And that's what bothers me the most. I've tried to research before purchase whether Synapse is going to be OK for gravel and most people say Topstone definitely would be better but Synapse with 32c kind of still should be ok. I even tried to research whether it possible maybe to go 650 rims with wider tires, but haven't found anything reliable enough.

So the questions would be - did I rush with the purchase? I haven't put any mileage to it yet, so should I return it until I have 10 days with potentially no restocking fee and continue hunting for Topstone (appearance of M sized one gives me hope that Small one will appear soon too) or jump on M right away? Does anybody tried Synapse with 650b wheels and at least 42 tires? Thank you everyone for your help!

P.S. Other than that I

Advice on value of a Cannondale synapse

I found someone selling a used Cannondale synapse. I believe it's the sora, from 2015. What is the maximum you would pay for this bike. Seller said that it's been sitting for a while and also needs to be tuned. His asking price was 1100cad/900usd. What is the most you would pay for it? I really want the synapse for endurance riding.

Thoughts?

Recently bought a new bike, Cannondale Synapse 105. I’m not sure I love it. Budget was about $2k, don’t have a ton of money for a bike purchase. Should I just upgrade components on my old bike??

Is a Scott Speedster S4. I really enjoyed that bike. I got into the market because a spring broke on my front derailure, I have a 3x9 ring setup, they don’t make that derailure anymore, everything today is either single or double up front... so this big chain reaction of replacements are in order (this is what I have sold myself, let me believe that). My Scott has a narrower handlebar setup, skinny tires, a 52t ring in front. This synapse has wider bars, fatter tires (30’s) and only a 50t ring in the front. I live in the big gear up front and the little gear in the back because I love going fast. My Scott just feels faster, and I believe it is on account of the different sized rings up front. Oh, also the Synapse has disc breaks which suuuuck (so far, β€œnot bedded yet”) in comparison to my rim clinchers on the Scott.

Should I just return the Synapse and run through all the upgrades on my old frame? Is there any downside to staying on that old frame? Besides the obvious internal cable routing on the Synapse? Is there a different bike I should consider? I was shooting for 105 components. I can’t find a meaningful reason to go higher.

2019 Cannondale Synapse Sora - $770 - Good price for first bike?

I'm looking to by my first road bike, and am specifically looking to buy a bike with an Endurance geometry. I have the option of buying a used Cannondale Synapse Sora, that I believe is a 2019 model, for $770. Is this a good deal?

Alternately, I could buy a current model Synapse, brand new from my LBS, with a couple of free tune ups for $1300.

Which would you go for?

New 105 level Canyon Endurance or older Cannondale Synapse hi-mod

I'm looking for an endurance bike with tire clearance to take it on long road rides and some gravel/dirt trails. I've been considering this:

Canyon Endurance 7.0 and eventually replacing the kinda crappy wheels it comes with.

This 2015 Cannondale Synapse hi-mod with zipp 303s from the era showed up on fb marketplace and it looks like it would fit my needs and save a few bucks. It's a little ugly, but it's light and has disc wheels so it seems to fit the bill. Drivetrain looks a little worn, so I'd probably replace the cassette and chainrings.

How does 2015 Ultegra compare to 2021 105? Is there anything else that should sway me one way or another?
