We are cannabis lawyers at Gleam Law! We have offices in the California, Washington, and Oregon markets and serve clients around the world. We practice business law, administrative law, intellectual property, and litigation with a focus on cannabis.
We help businesses form, comply, and thrive in the new cannabis industry. Our clients include farms, processors, retailers, dispensaries, and ancillary businesses such as publicly traded companies and international celebrities.
In the emerging cannabis system, regulatory bodies are struggling to grasp the complex subject matter. We help the government offices interpret the laws in regards to the practical application and use of medical and recreational marijuana.
These are always fun and this is our fifth AMA!

I work in the industry and speak with cannabis employees from most Illinois companies and I ask them about their jobs. To be honest I don't think you could take something as wonderful as cannabis and make a more sinister system to sell it if you tried. First of all, it's a monopoly built so as few people as possible can profit and prices can be fixed. We all know it's crooked af so I won't spend time on that but rather the point of this post is to show that legal cannabis in Illinois is still thug cannabis and frankly it's not any safer than buying on the street.
All plants are grown for profit but what you might not know is that the strain selections are always geared toward fast finishing strains and often they aren't allowed to fully ripen before being cut. = low quality
When I speak to "chuckers" (people who pull dried bud off the stem) I always ask how long it was cured before being jarred, not one of them was familure with basic curing practices. Nothing is cured like you would hope and everything is dryer than you would want due to mold concerns. That why so much of it is dry and harsh.
Speaking of mold concerns, I've heard from multiple cultivators that just because the weed was moldy doesn't mean it still won't be sold after they run it through a machine to kill the mold. Usually, if something molds they just use it for concentrate. This is what the workers tell me. If you don't believe me, try some Verano concentrates lol (no dont)
If you want to talk vape carts what you will find is very misleading labels. JOOS brand vapes for example don't even have any of the strains listed in the vape. So if you buy a Skywalker Joos vape wouldn't you expect it to have Skywalker the strain in it? Think again. I had multiple vape employees from multiple companies tell me that they think their company hates its customers and their employees. One said for a long time they used food safe products in their vapes even though food safe isn't vape safe but also for a time she said they had her adding ingredients that were listed as carcinogenic and she was told to look the other way.
If you suspected the Illinois prerolls were extra shitty then you guessed right. I asked a guy who makes prerolls for Dog Walkers how they were able to get the thc % so high on the prerolls. He laughed and said Dog Walkers suck because they test the colas only and then don't put the colas into the joints. He said on the current batch of plants that they purposely left extra l
