A man is sitting in a cafe when suddenly someone he knows comes running to him in panic shouting "Quick, your wife is cheating on you with your best friend in the forest". The man runs out of the cafe angry and furious to see for himself and returns after a short while and sits back down on his chair. The people in the cafe and the guy that told him are confused and ask what happened. The man says "this son of a bitch was just exaggerating, firstly, it was just a couple of trees he made it out like it was a forest, secondly, best friend he says?! It turns out I don't even know the guy". Thank you
Edit: Thank you kind stranger for my first gold. The people of Iraq thank you too.
Because I certainly can't..
Edit. Ha! I cannot believe this has gained so much traction, just a passing thought posted in fun. To the 5 people who have been negative or told me to grow up, maybe follow your own advice and also, if possible, grow a sense of humor. We're all different though, alot of people got the spirit in which this post was meant. To everyone else, thanks for the laughs! Special mention to everyone that gave recipes for avo toast, delish. And an extra special mention to everyone who has saved money or bought a house! You rock!
I am an employee at Norrhstar Cafe in the Short North. I have worked there for three year and while there have been times it has been stressful and challenging I have genuinely enjoyed my time there. This was until this past week.
All but one person in the front of house as well as severe form the back agreed to walk out at 10:15am in solidarity with #blacklivesmatter and to show our disdain for how the company has responded.
After removing the police discount the cafe received several threats both over the phone and through social media.
In response to these threats Kevin Malhame and Darren Malhame decided to reinstate the discount.
Many of us were angry, not just because of the discount, but because this goes in the face of everything we are told Northstar claims to be. Last week one of our coworkers, who is black, was baited by two patrons dining on the patio. They kept discussing how the police brutality George Floyd experienced that lead to his death was justified and deserv... keep reading on reddit ➡
I just saw a post that reminded me of this. It took place about, oh, 2009-2010. Now this was at a popular chain cafe/deli that was in the food court of the mall. At the time (I think they stopped shortly after this) this shop was known just as much for its sandwiches as it was for its coffee. (This is no longer true; now they're pretty much known only for coffee and I think there are branches that don't even offer sandwiches.) One of the sandwiches they used to be known for was their Thanksgiving Turkey Croissant. It had chunks of roasted turkey, cranberry sauce, herb-basted bread chunks, and turkey gravy on a sliced croissant roll. I have set the scene.
My friend and I were doing some Christmas shopping at the mall and got hungry. (No surprise; we'd been there for several hours.) We decided to get something to eat and my friend started raving about their Thanksgiving sandwich, claiming that it's even better than the ones I made at home (I use Thanksgiving leftovers to make this sandw... keep reading on reddit ➡

I happened to go to high school with the Tony whose posted a bunch of racist anti-riot stuff. The main post being shared doesn't point out that the Tony who owns the Cafe is the father.
I do not know if the son is involved in the business or not. Please wait to see how the restaurant reacts before jumping on the boycott train. I'm already seeing people post fake reviews like "They spit in my food" on their page.
Edit 1: 6/12, 8:30 PM, seems 11-Worth cafe has hidden their page entirely. They were getting a TON of bad reviews. Hard to say if they are trying to keep below the radar or preparing for a response.
Edit 2: 6/13, 2:15 PM. So yesterday, I messaged the woman who made the original post that was getting the most shares in an attempt to appeal to giving them the benefit of the doubt, and maybe editing the post to make it more obvious that it was the Tony III and not the owner Tony Jr who made the posts. It was a brief convo and ultimately sh... keep reading on reddit ➡
So this happened about 15 or so years ago now, but its a little funny and I figured this is the perfect place to share it
This is about a cafe that no longer exists but for any melbournians here it a little cafe in chadstone, long before they remodelled, it was next to where Intencity used to be.
I was leaving the centre and decided to grab a sandwich from the cafe on my way out. I’m vegetarian and decided to grab their “Vegetarian focaccia”. It was on a large plate, with about a dozen more of them and a little sign that said “vegetarian focaccia”. Paid for it to go and ran to my car. Ate it on the drive home. It tasted a bit funny but I didn’t think much of it. Thinking back now it must’ve been a few days old because later that night I had my first ever case of food poisoning (at least as far back as I could remember). Spent the whole night either throwing up from my mouth or my anus. It was not pleasant
The next afternoon, after I’d finally recovered from my night/morning of hell,... keep reading on reddit ➡
Someone at a store gave me a free coupon for a smoothie place in town. She said she had just opened up her store and the coupon was to try a free smoothie, which I thought was cool. I finally made some time to go today and the person working introduced herself as the owner. I told her prior to ordering that I’m lactose intolerant and I can’t have any milk in my smoothie. She assured me that she doesn’t blend her smoothies with milk. When I ordered my drink I recognized that the smoothie was just herbal life powder and ice. (I had a roommate in college that sold herbal life so I recognized the containers instantly.) I asked her again if there was any milk in my smoothie and she said no. I was apprehensive because a lot of protein powders do contain milk... so I searched on herbal life’s website... only to find that the drink I ordered did in fact contain milk. I’m happy that I didn’t pay for the smoothie and that I didn’t drink it... but this entire situation reinforced everything I hat... keep reading on reddit ➡
It was a weekday morning, pretty early, probably 7:30am. A man arrived and sat at the table closest to the door. Sat by himself for a few minutes then a woman walked in with a boy, maybe 7 or 8 years old, in a school uniform, and sat at the table with the man. The woman came up and ordered herself a coffee and a muffin then sat back down. The boy sat between them and they took turns talking to him, very quietly and sympathetically. It was immediately obvious that they were telling the boy that they were breaking up and it was very awkward when I delivered the coffee and muffin to the table. The boy cried silently the entire time they were there. They stayed at the table for another 15 minutes or so, then left separately. I felt horrible, especially considering the boy was wearing his school uniform, so I assume the mother dropped him to school after this. Even if that’s not what they were telling him, though I’m 99% sure that’s what it was, why the fuck would you make any kind of devas... keep reading on reddit ➡
