I plan on making a 1:2 Bugleweed tincture with apple cider vinegar. (I'm sober, alcohol is not an option)
How long should I let it steep?
Does 1:2 sound okay?
Any advice at all?
Thanks lot for contributors in this subreddit for the information,
I read lot about bugleweed, I want ask if is effective for graves disease and if stopped will symptoms come back.
West Michigan, Zone 6a. My main questions are: how deep should I bury the plants? can this plant propagate through mulch well? is stained cedar mulch an issue for this plant?
I have to move some ajuga to make room for a Central AC unit tomorrow. I'll be removing a 3 foot square patch. It's healthy and well established, and I can move it to one of two places: one with a little more sun (4-6 hours daily during the midday) that has been mulched with stained cedar, or another place with similar sun mulched with shredded hardwood.
I would prefer to move it to the first option. Reading up on it, it doesn't seem like it should be a problem. I'm thinking of pulling the whole section up, spreading it out like a net over the mulch, and making little divots in the mulchy dirt for the roots to establish. Aside from some extra care the first two weeks being attentive to water and sun, I'm hoping it will work. Thoughts?
Other notes: I can mix in some compost, but the mulch has done a great job of choking the weeds out and I don't want to hinder that. This area is only about 8x3 foot, completely edged foundation bed in SW corner of house (gets morning shade and late afternoon/evening shade). I realize this is not the best time to be transplanting anything, but I have to remove this patch and would appreciate any advice!
I identified a new weed in my neighborhood today called bugle or bugleweed (Ajuga reptans). There seems to be very little information on it. Some sources say it is edible while others say it is toxic. Does anyone have any experience using it as a food or medicine?
I have a customer who has planted ajuga/bugleweed on a hill as ground cover. They want to have the weeds around it sprayed but not kill the bugleweed. I know most people try to kill this invasive weed but does anyone have any products you can spray around it without killing the ajuga!
