Background info: my husband and I are in our 30s, together 15 years. We have one child. We live very close to his parents (who are divorced and both remarried) and my mother. I am very introverted and he is very extroverted, which is the root cause of most arguments we have. We both work full time so the weekends are the only uninterrupted time we have to chill and be a family.
It is Mother’s Day in the US this Weekend. I had previously made plans with my mother for Sunday, to cook her dinner and spend some time with her. She works full time also so we do not see her as often.
My husband asked if we could have a visit with his mom on Saturday. She is retired and we see her quite often. I don’t dislike her but she is very draining of my energy and I do not feel relaxed or fully comfortable around her. I have been trying to be more honest about my feelings and I told my husband that I didn’t really want to do that. Because it is Mother’s Day weekend, and I would like to spend one day relaxing with my child at home.
He immediately got offended and said that I am not HIS mother, why should he spend the day with just me as we do that every day. And we are celebrating my mom and it wouldn’t be fair to visit her and not his own mom.
I decided he was right, I shouldn’t keep him from visiting his mom on the holiday. So I said it was fine but I did not want to host or cook. So he said that is fine, we can go out to dinner instead as it will just be the 6 of us (me, husband, our child, his mom, stepdad, and his sister who is single).
Yesterday he told me that MIL has invited her other daughter and her husband and four kids to “her celebration.” They live out of town and SIL has also invited their stepmom and dad as to not leave them out. So now there are 14 people and they cannot find an outside restaurant reservation for such a big group. Husband decided to offer up our house as it is the biggest yard. He said he will get carry out so I don’t have to cook, but I will still have to clean up after everyone. Also my MIL always overstays her welcome which was another reason I didn’t want to have it at our house.
I think my husband and child will love the party, but I will not. And I am feeling pretty offended that my husband once again steamrolled over my wishes on what is supposed to be my special day too (I’m also a mother) and let his mom call all the shots.

Brunch
Capriotti’s was a local sub shop chain, and was within walking distance from the base’s perimeter. It had become a common ‘first stop’ for extraterrestrial visitors. Amilita picked it as a meeting point for its famously welcoming atmosphere, and dragged along her two Lieutenants, waiting for Nataliska and Erzilia to arrive.
“Is it okay if we take a table?” The Lieutenant Colonel asked the lady behind the counter through her translator.
The older lady, broad in both belly and shoulders fixed her with a broad grin. “Only if ya order something.”
“We have some friends coming who will be ordering, but I’ll take a Homemade Tuna.” Goshen piped in and ordered a Sausage sub, and Lesha asked for a roast beef.
The three paid, took their numbers and walked over to the table in the otherwise empty establishment.
“So, thoughts?” Amilita trusted her Lieutenants to be candid.
“Just having read the reports, I think Talay Middle School is a hotbed of insurgency,” Goshen grumbled. “We should shut it down immediately.”
“You have been behaving strangely lately, ever since that meeting where you suggested bombing the entire state. It’s pretty out of character for you, Goshen. What happened?”
“You’ve been saying anything’s an insurgent,” Lesha mumbled in assent, then startled upright and pointed at her napkin. “Goshen, look! It’s an insurgent. I’m taking two of them into custody for questioning.” She pulled them from the dispenser. “Tell me everything you know!” Lesha glared at the napkin, then let it fade and be replaced with a goofy, mocking smile directed to her fellow Lieutenant, who didn’t smile back.
“Gavin disappeared,” Goshen mumbled sadly. “He was this… guy, I had a really good night with him, then a couple more nights. I thought we were growing something special, and then he disappeared.”
“Is he alright?” Asked Lesha, now concerned.

This seems petty, but curious what the Reddit Court thinks. I wanted to hang out with some friends I haven't seen in a while so I suggested brunch, bottomless mimosas. From the group of five(SO was one of them), friend one (Val) said they were "Confirmed unavailable". The rest of us decided to still go. The day before, friend two(Mel) had to cancel as she was sick. Friend three(Dee) asked if I still wanted to go and I said "no, why don't we reschedule when all of us are available". I then mentioned "this sort of works out as I was helping a different friend move in the evening". I wouldn't have to control how much I drink and then try sober up etc.
I get a text around 3pm from Val saying "you missed out" and a picture of Dee holding a wine glass. All I responded was "thought you were confirmed unavailable", she responded, "I wasn't in the afternoon"
I was having a super pleasant day hanging out and just doing chores so it didn't bother me.
Around 9 pm I get a drunk call from both of them calling me a bitch, "lovingly/jokingly", for having bailed on Dee. Val can get a bit mean with her words when she's very drunk and doesn't hold back when she has something on her mind. It's a bit funny to talk with her when they're really drunk too. In this case she was "angry" at me on Dee's behalf, called me a bitch several times during the call. My usual response is just to let her say her piece. It was annoying/upsetting but they're drunk so I'll give them a pass- and I understand why I upset them. Anyway we talk a little, very difficult as they're super drunk, and then hang up.
They then decide to facetime my SO, have them come over to me(I don't have an iPhone) and do the whole thing over again- Talk about a topic and then start calling me a bitch over and over again. Tried to talk about a big change/move happening in our life and they said ewww due to the location of the move. My SO and I are not in the habit of just hanging up on people, and at the time I did really feel like shit so I didn't want to upset them more - at the same time I had this pride thing going on and didn't want to show I was upset by them being such dicks so just took it with a smile. After we ended the call, my SO and I just sat there for a sec silent, then went back to doing what were doing before.

e.g. Sell 420 shares of Gamestop at ''whatever price''. Most cases order is filled instantly.
Now I know the only wrinkle you had in your brain was exhausted when you pressed buy button for GME but Apes please! do you think you give market a chance to sell your shares at whatever price and they will give you the best price? Sure the order may be instant but the downside is worse than the upside. SO AVOID MKT ORDERS.
[II] Limit order(LMT): This is a very commonly used order type for which you need to enter two perimeters- 1) number of shares you want to sell 2) minimum price below which you are not ready to sell at.
VERY IMPORTANT!!! : if you set a Limit Order(LMT) to sell when the current price is above your LMT price it will be filled immediately! YES, so for e.g. GME is at 4 200 000.69 and you put in a LMT order sell 1 share at 4 000 000. This order will be filled instantly. WHY? you ask, because the LMT is supposed to give you the best price above your LMT order so if bid right now is above your LMT, the order will be filled instantly.
[III] Stop Order (STP): This is a kind of a trigger order that only becomes active when price crosses a certain threshold. You need three perimeters for this- 1) number of shares you want to sell/buy 2) price at which you want the order to become active 3) Price you are willing to accept.
Now STP order is of two types : STP-LMT(trigger at Stop price while going down, but don't sell below Limit price) STP-MKT(trigger at Stop price while going down, but sell at any price Market gives you). If you guessed it right, congratulations! you just added a new wrinkle to your brain. Your wife's boyfriend may bring your favorite crayon set next time he comes over.
Also STP order works differently for buy and sell side
TL;DR avoid MKT (Market) and STP-MKT (Stop Market), also avoid LMT if GME's current price is above your Limit price. The best option is use STP LMT price but put in the order when price crosses above you Limit price for example:
Price reaches 15 000 000 put in STP-LMT ORDER - STP price 10 500 000 ; LMT price : 10 000 000.
Do yourself a favor and practice on mock stocks like ZVZZT *or buy a shares of some cheap stock to make sure you apesolutely know which order type to use. you can't use

I love Shady Lady, etc. as much as the next girl, but I would love to know what everyone’s less-hyped favorites are.
My boyfriend and I LOVED Royal Underground for a solid brunch deal and good food and service. Since we’re eating out again, and they don’t seem to be reopening, we’re looking for a new go-to.
