I'm playing a wizard. Grabbed fireball. I have yet, in 9 sessions of play on roll20, to encounter a combat where a fireball would hit any enemy and not ALSO hit a friendly or myself.
On the other hand, every combat I have fired off multiple lightning bolts without damaging any of my dear, dear party members, or my dear, dear self.
We have done combat in ruins, tight spaces, open fields, a church, a proper dungeon, and several other high fantasy locations, against wolves, priests, rats, and other fun D&D monsters.
Am I missing something, unlucky, or just stupid? Is my DM running combat wrong somehow? Any help or opinions would be appreciated.
Yesterday I took my Bolt to a track day at Waterford Hills Road Racing in Waterford, Michigan. Waterford Hills is a 1.5 mile track with a decent elevation change of maybe 50 feet at it's highest point. It's a 2019 LT I bought in late December last year and has about 2300 miles. I was curious how it would do, if it would handle well, if it would de-rate, if I could do all the sessions, and if I could make it there and back on one charge. I'm fortunate enough to live close enough to drive to and from the track, so to maximize the energy I had when I arrived I didn't take the highway on the way there. This proved to be a good choice, as you'll see later on.
It was refreshing taking... keep reading on reddit ➡
