What it says in the title. I want to use one for RP reasons, but I don't think I can create one as a pact weapon, even with Improved Pact Weapon.
I was playing MC in my dream.. and there were PINE TREES..
Pine Trees -Wood block was a mix between the gray acacia and the dark oak.. -Shear leaves to get pine leaf blocks.. or hoe the leaves to get a chance for pine needles and pine cones..
Pine Needles -Can be combined with pufferfish or poison potion to make POISON DARTS
Blow gun -Crafted from bamboo
Anyway... This was in my dream.. I woke up and thought it was a cool idea..
I was thinking of a Delusion Type of weapon, one that would pray on the minds of players. Making it Perfect for Ambushes and getting an Advantage, even over High Geared players.
This Weapon would have a role in providing tactical advantage to players that like to play with their prey while hunting them.
The Blowgun will be more meant for medium/long-range. The weapon has better accuracy when stationary and crouched. It can be fired and reload while walking but not while running. The reload rate of the Blowgun will be 3 seconds and is a single fire weapon. The weapon cannot be ADS while Running. The Blowgun when made, cannot be stack, but it can be repaired. When fired the Blowgun makes little to no sound and doesn't show any muzzle flash like firearms. The effect of the Darts when fired don't stack, once a target is hit. Another effect can only be added when the effect of that particular Dart previously shot has worn off.
- (BlowGun Crafting Recipe: 4 Metal Pipes, 15 High-Quality Metal)
- (BlowGun Crafting Time: 30 seconds)
Tier 1 Dart: This Dart would cause Players if Hitted. Would hear sounds that would deceive them. Such as Gun Shots, Sounds of Projeclies flying near them, and sounds of Footsteps. While this would cause little to no physical damage to the Player. The effects of Audio Disruption would last the Longest, lasting 30 Seconds. No healing would get shorten these effects but the Status effect "Comfort" would decrease the effect faster.
Tier 1 Poison Container Crafting Recipe: The recipe to make the Tier 1 Poison would need to be made with the Mixing Table with 30 Red and 30 White Berries, this would make a Poison Container.
Tier 1 Dart Crafting Recipe: There would need to be 4 Tier 1 Poison Containers along with 300 Metal Fragments. Craft time would be 6 seconds. Giving the Player 4 Tier 1 Darts.
- (Impact damage would be 1-3, Headshot Damage would be 6-7)
- (BluePrint Recipe: 75 Scraps)
- (Requires to be Crafted Near Work Bench Level 2)
(Tier 1 Dart can be learned through the Tier Tree or can be Learned through Blueprint. Tier 1 Dart can only be dropped from the Crate, APC Crate, Military Crate, Mine Crate, and Sunken Crate.)
Tier 2 Dart: This Dart would cause players if Struck. The Targe will be unable to heal themselves unless they use a Large Medkit. The effect of the Tier 2 Dart would last 15 seconds, in those seconds. Bandages and Medical Syringes are useless. This does give... keep reading on reddit ➡
So the blowgun is a very odd weapon. It only does 1 damage (so no benefits from crits) but somehow is a martial weapon. Is there any way to make this little guy into a viable build?
Edit: say your dm lets you ignore the loading property.
I am unable to obviously order them in California. I’m wondering if I can buy the tubing from somewhere and the parts and assemble it here. If anybody knows any good places to order stuff that would ship to California that would be awesome. I miss the sport and enthusiasm and want to show my child the fun I did.
Hi there, I'm a first time DM and one of my players wanted to utilize her poisoner's kit and blowgun to make specialized darts. She's a level 3 rogue assassin.
Here is what I've homebrewed thus far, looking for advice on if it is too OP (specifically the sleep dart) and any advice or links that may be beneficial!
Thanks so much!
A poisoner's kit includes vials, chemicals, and other equipment necessary for the creation of poisons. Proficiency with this kit lets you add your proficiency bonus to any ability checks you make to craft or use your poisons. Over the course of 10 hours you can create a poison to be applied to your blowgun needles. The poison can be used to damage your opponents, poison them, or put them to sleep momentarily. This kit has four charges, and you can expend multiple charges during one 10 hour session. Expend one charge to create one of the following:
Once all four charges have been expended you must pay 50 gold to resupply the kit. This can be done in a large city.
The Constitution saving throws would be against the rogues proficiency bonus +12, that way it gets better over time, as one would expect with practice. Thanks again!
I want to make a utility artificer alchemist and I want his weapon to be a blowgun
Currently poison seems to do very little to NPCs, but it is absolutely devastating to player characters.
The blowgun is really hindered by this. Both hallucination darts and weaknesses darts are good, but the hallucination dart takes us an ability slot, which locks it out of Ronin usage entirely.
Poison is the ‘default’ ammo but the tiny bit of poise interference it causes doesn’t really make it competitive with bow damage. Am I missing something here?
I’m still rocking hallucination for Tengu though. Fuck those guys.
The game keeps throwing them at me, but I can't figure out what to really do with them. The poison dart doesn't do any damage, the weakness dart doesn't seem to do much either. I can't get a kill with it, what is it for?
Hear me out. They could either be triggered by a trigger/button or the game could listen on the player's mic for a blowing sound.
And the thing is, there's room for both traditional blowguns and darts and super-moddable, tactical-ass blowguns, with rails and everything.
And a buttload of different dart types.
I was all excited to make a "Teemo" character that uses a blowgun and then I looked at the Blowguns stats and it seems 100% pointless to even try. I might still make the character but will probably end up using a different weapon.
Lets looks at the stats Damage = 1, Range = 20 ft, Reload = 1. It really seems like there is no mechanical benefit to even try using it. It has agile I guess... I could see it potentially using poisons ok, but not sure why I wouldn't use the many other options instead.
Has anyone actually made a blowgun character in PF2E and enjoyed it?
After 1500hours of HBG I suddenly realized I don't even know how they work. The ammo seems to be powder propelled bullets, but then whats the bow part for? And if its really the bowstrings then why do I see the muzzle flash? Do anyon know how does the bow and gun part come together?
edit: I mean bowgun in the title, how can I change that
I think this one speaks for itself. Everyone or should I say the majority of the Hunt community is asking for the addition of Native American hunters.
the blowgun is usually made of bamboo or similar material. It´s known to be one of the deadliest and quietest weapons.
Now let´s talk about why is the blowgun so unique and different. It has different types of ammunition with different effects. Affected hunters can interact with the dart to remove it. The longer a dart stays the heavier the applied effect gets. Some darts can not be retrieved (similar to poison crossbow).
I hope you like what you see. And if you did, please consider sharing it so it can reach our beloved Crytek developers <3
Edit: The ammo type is not changeable/switchable. It works exactly like crossbows. You buy the poison one, the normal, etc. What the devs call "variants".
The blowgun should be added as a Tool and not a weapon (based on your feedback guys :)
I main assassin and therefore want to use the blowgun. However, I don’t really see the usefulness with my game style. I mostly use smoke bombs to sneak around and assassinate so I don’t see a point in using the blowgun. Can someone help with my strategy please?
I’m sure you get asked all the time, but when will they be back in stock?
Welcome back to Trash To Treasure, the series where Reddit and I talk about how we would make bad cards better.
Today's card is Blowgun Imp, as requested by u/The-Starch-Lord.
Where to begin with this card? It's very understated, slow, and needs a body on the field to do "well". Having deadly and strikethrough is fine, just not here.
As for how I would fix this, firstly throw out the evolution. I feel like it cuts back on its trait's full potential. Making it cheaper is also essential so it isn't so slow.
Feel free to suggest cards for next time. If you haven't noticed the pattern, I go plant card then zombie card. I might be a little while on next post, wanted to do Jack o Lantern in October.
