I recently came back to hearthstone after playing LoR for months. my standard collection is rather small cause i haven’t been around in awhile. i decided i would buy some packs to craft at least one tier 1-2 deck. after looking at all the available options, i settled on Highlander Priest because it looked the most interesting to me. i bought two $70 60 pack bundles. $140 total dollars spent. the deck has 8 legendary cards. i came up short by 4 legendaries. how is this not being talked about? you’re telling me after $140 dollars, over twice the amount of a full fledged video game, i can’t even come up with enough dust to craft 8 f*cking legendaries. in retrospect i spent $80 on runeterra and have max copies of every card in the entire game. how is this possible? how is the dust refund ratio and legendary drop rate so terrible. $140 and i can’t get 1/12 of the legendary cards in standard. there’s no way this should even be remotely acceptable. can we talk about this already. why does... keep reading on reddit ➡
I play on Ravencrest-EU, one of the biggest Alliance EU servers. Yet every tier it feels smaller and smaller.
Half the guilds on the front page of WoWprogress have already moved to Horde this tier. It was the same last expansion, and it will be the same next expansion.
These guilds use boosting gold to pay for these transfers. If I wanted to transfer my characters, it would cost me £460 ($600). I will sooner quit the game than pay that cost.
I don't raid anymore, but I do M+ often (~4.5k io), where arguably the situation is worse. The community for higher level keys is barren. The alliance m+ community is so small, I'm top 250 of my class in alliance, but barely breaking top 1k when you add in Horde as well (worldwide).
This is only going to get worse as each tier goes on. Guilds are unable to recruit good alliance raiders, so they move to horde. People are unable to find good alliance guilds as they have all swapped, so they move to horde.
In 1-2 expansions alliance pve will... keep reading on reddit ➡

Yesterday we cleared BWL for the Red Shard. As we looted Nefarian several people in raid saw the item on the corpse of Nefarian, however the person that was on the quest could not see, nor loot the item. Noone else could loot the item aswell. We used the group loot system for this raid. This raid was done only hours after they changed the shards quality from white to epic. We raised several tickets and even live chatted with GMs, but their responses are unhelpful. First he got this automated response: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/637416152351506433/740864942504149002/Screenshot_20200806-113204_Chrome.jpg
In contact with GMs later we got this response:
In regards to the scepter shard issue you had with Nefarian, there were no issues with the shard itself: we saw that the kill was made within the time requested to loot it, and it did drop for your raid group. Please note that if someone else looted it in the party, this would disappear as only 1 is provided per raid grou... keep reading on reddit ➡
With the Livestreams and interviews that have come out the last week, it seems that blizzard has established that they are going to continue with the focus on 'player choice' in Shadowlands with covenants, soulbinds, conduits, and legendaries.
I know that the community (including myself) largely has concerns over how blizzard can balance these things properly so that you do not regret your choices later.
In this post, let's focus not on the systems overall as it seems those decisions have been made by Blizz and are largely not changing. Instead, let's focus in depth on each covenant ability to start. Below I will list all covenant abilities by class as well as the overall covenant abilities. Write your feedback and general ideas about each in line below the comment.
Let us give them the feedback they so badly crave. Threads for Soulbinds and Conduits will be made later.

It is widely known that the current maximum packs you have to open is 40 to get a legendary. This creates too much variance between pack openings as we see pre order bundles get opened this weekend. Blizzard always says they want people to feel good about opening packs, a positive experience. I can assure you hitting the 40 pack wall does not make anyone feel happy.
We know blizzard is listening to feedback about packs and implemented Duplicate protection this past rotation, I think it is time to send more feedback to change one more thing. Now that we know there are two extra legendary cards per set, 25 in total now, the legendary timer needs to change from 40 to 30.
While I myself got lucky this pack opening, a lot of folks do not. With class legendaries and neutral legendaries extremely powerful this set I am anticipating a lot of play with these cards. Reading that people are spending $130 and getting 4 legendary cards in 140 packs is unacceptable. This needs to change.
On Friday 24th of July I got hit with a 6 month ban.
Reply I got from a GM:
"Greetings, I am -------- and I had the opportunity to handle your request. I took into account of your request regarding a suspension on World of Warcraft I can understand your frustration but unfortunately your profil was reported by many players who complained about a misbehaviour in game from your account.. You can understand that this kind of behaviour does not have its place in game. That's why your account was penalized and according our code of conduct, this action is legit and not unfair. If you want to talk about your sanction, I can only invite you to post your opinion on the forum. Thank you for your understanding and see you soon. UPDATE 2: A different GM replied, take a look.
The story goes like this:
The Outland tavern pass got released for 2500g.
The Outland tavern pass got discounted to 1250g.
6th of August the Scholomance got released at 7PM (central Europe) and the Outland tavern pass stopped working.
At ~8PM I went to play the game, excited to buy the new pass with my saved up gols.
The shop still sold the old, no longer working pass that was completely worthless at that time.
I bought the old pass thinking it's the new one, because the expansion was already r... keep reading on reddit ➡
Christina Mikkonen: > I’m just going to say it because it’s affecting my husband’s mental health.
>Blizzard is currently blacklisting @savjz from events because I spoke out against the company and offended a CM by responding to their tweet with: “Are you fucking serious right now.”
>What a joke.
Janne Mikkonen (Savjz): >This is the reason that was given to me when I said I want to play at this event. My wife was part of the 800 layoffs and she spoke up about the injust practices of company. I was told I am a liability because of who I am married to.
Remember when Blizzard wasn't consistently awful to everyone but their shareholders?
I love a lot of the new changes coming from the Shadowlands beta but I was really disheartened to hear there would be no plans to bring back pvp only stats on pvp gear. MoP was the last great expansion for pvp for me as I really don’t care for raiding or mythic plus and prefer to be able to sink all my time into BGs and arenas and be able to get all the best gear and items I need for pvp....from pvp. I really hate the forced PvE grinds just to be competitive. Who else just really wants resilience or PvP power gear back with other gems, enchants and essential items available for purchase at a pvp vendor??
I've been yelling at them on Twitter all day, apparently it's game-wide. People are getting banned for nothing. Thankfully it wasn't the person with the scepter, but holy hell. How many of my guild members are going to be picked off by Blizzard's shitty auto-ban system?
EDIT: The person I was mad about got unbanned and credited with two weeks game time. Because he wasn't botting. Because he was a victim of Blizzard's dog shit right click report system.
For anyone saying it's "you're getting banned because you're racist and spam in general chat"
So there is a lot of negativity here but I'm really enjoying Classic. I haven't played retail WoW for years and Classic brought me back. Is it the same game I used to play all those years ago? No. Do I enjoy exploring the world at my own pace, killing Ony, running MC as a guild with the same people each week, actually getting excited by getting epic loot and having challenging fights with random mobs? You're God damn right I do.
This is taking place in EU.
Frostmane is being merged with Aggra, which is a Portuguese server twice our own size. Aggra has (Portuguese) written after its name to make it clear that it's an official Portuguese realm. Frostmane is English.
No offence to Portuguese people whatsoever - I’m sure you’re just as wonderful as every other nation on this continent of ours - but I like to be able to understand the players on my server. The danger here is that 2/3rds of the people I meet will be speaking Portuguese on an officially Portuguese realm, and I won't understand what they're saying.
It’s one thing when you’ve got small pockets of a particular nationality roaming about your server - but it’s another entirely when your medium size realm gets merged into a much larger realm speaking a different language. This is kind of like merging Nozdormu into Gordunni or something like that.
EDIT: Well, it's happened. Thanks for your support everybody. Blizz didn't care at all.
Shadowlands is offering unparalleled levels of player customization, which makes it all the more frustrating that the glyph system has received no new updates or ideas in the beta. Blizzard has more than a decade of models and assets they could apply to the glyph system - here’s a place to start.
P.S. Blizzard if you are watching please feel free to steal any/all of these ideas, I do not mind at all
Pretty much the title. Happened just as the game was going into Beta by the sounds of it. Thought it was really interesting.
Edit: Failed at attaching the link https://youtu.be/uRFV9zbwk5Y?t=4786 there's the timestamp
Edit 2: neither is writing a book for OW currently. Brandon said he declined because he's so busy before he went for a tour of the Blizz HQ. Sounds like this happened when the game was in beta so 4-5 years ago. Sorry for the confusion, I was excited and wrote this without thinking about how it was worded.
Of all the features that get scraped when a new expansion launches, class halls I miss the most. They're really something that should've stayed and evolved. Having an exclusive hub perfectly themed around your class, teeming with players from both factions and beloved characters was such an important feature for class fantasy. And it was just cool af.
How amazing would it be to see them updated with new campaigns and rewards each expansion as members of your class learn to overcome the new threat to the world and realizing the part they'll play in it.
So in the aftermath of this Scarab Lord griefing debacle, Blizzard has taken a strong stance of coming out publicly and saying that automated suspensions do not occur as a result of mass reports.
This has led some of the player base to view reports of being auto-banned with skepticism.
This is however, clearly disproved with the very simple fact that they've admitted it to my face in the past.
Here is a suspension notice that got received "after a thorough investigation of the evidence"
In the ticket response, you can see that they admit the reporting reaso... keep reading on reddit ➡
The player in question who received real-life threats by the Bot Farm Owner has reported him to the Police.
Blizzard ofc just don't care.
We are talking about an organized mafia at this point. This made me really mad, vote up and let's hope some big honcho from Blizzard sees this and kicks some asses inside Blizzard.

I play on Ashbringer-EU, one of the servers that's locked, and has been locked for a long time. Our guild is one of many that is losing members that they aren't able to replace, because the server has been locked for months, and the well has run dry. There isn't any new players, and all the new 60s are alts of someone who already raids with another guild. AQ is around the corner, but we have been bleeding members and we are unable to find anyone despite recruiting pretty much everyday. A lot of people have busy summers, and every country is starting to go back to work so tons of people suddenly have very little time to play and subsequently quit raiding, if not quit the game entirely.
We are not the only guild that's struggling. Guilds that have been raiding together since the start of classic. A server doesn't run well when it has been locked for so long. Plenty of people are quitting now anyway, so there is room for these new players. Blizzard, for the love of god, open the damn ser... keep reading on reddit ➡
Check out this video!
I was looking through youtube for info on what ever the new iteration of Dust 514 is. I didn't find what I was looking for, but found this video that I thought summed up what happened to blizzard really well. I actually watch it twice the first was a reaction vid then just the vid because asmond is a blowhard that has trouble making his own content. This is the first time I ever saw a The Act Man vid and found it to be very well thought out. I will probably check out some of his other vids hopefully they are just as well done.
I know a lot of the time during those Q&A's the streamers or what have you are typically afraid to give any real push back or ask any of the more "hard hitting" or difficult questions for fear of getting black listed.
Finally getting to see a proper discussion where a player was able to voice their concerns and have some back and forth is really refreshing. Preach pretty much just voiced the exact same concerns he's been voicing in his videos during the alpha almost verbatim and we got to hear Ion's answers.
It felt a lot like watching two posters on a forum going back and forth where their answers keep getting longer and longer as they address and add more and more to each others posts.
Even if people may not like the answers we got, its incredibly valuable to be able to get that insight and to see that back and forth instead of the more typical interviews where we get the usual response and then not much if any follow up and we have to hope we get a few crumbs of the real issu... keep reading on reddit ➡

Looks like a pretty nice alternative to the original system of destroyable conduits.
Text version for those who can’t browse wowhead:
> Starting next week in the Shadowlands Beta, we will begin introducing a series of updates to the Soulbind system to add a persistent collection system for Conduits. Since the Soulbind system was unveiled in the Alpha and discussed in our Developer Update, we’ve heard consistent feedback about the shortcomings of an inventory-based destructible version of Conduits, and we agree entirely.
> While we feel it’s important that there be some friction in moving Conduits around, the prospect of the having to re-earn a given Conduit, perhaps by chasing a specific dungeon or raid boss drop, was not particularly appealing to anyone. However, simply removing destructibility without making other changes would have created an inventory management nightm... keep reading on reddit ➡

Blizzards reasoning for the 90 day nerf they added to transfers:
"We want to allow players to transfer, but that should be so they can play with their friends, not disrupt another realm’s Scepter race. "
Enabling players to transfer characters who hold carapaces is "disrupting another realm's scepter race"
This needs to be nerfed.
TLDR: Enabling players to transfer characters who hold carapaces is "disrupting another realm's scepter race" and needs to be nerfed.

Just think about it: they announce that they’ll reveal a new trailer for OW2 during game break of the finals. Instantly a TON of hype gets built up. Casual players who may not typically watch league games may tune in for the first time to see the reveal.
I see this as a win-win: you inflate the viewership numbers for the Grand Finals, hopefully attract some new viewers, and rekindle the hype for OW2, which has been all but dead since the reveal at Blizzcon.
We are LONG overdue for any piece of news on OW2. Do you think they might do this?
