Hi Shibes,
I can confidently say I've been here since the beginning and wanted to let you all know that what we've all seen today on the markets is nothing new. I've actually seen this happen before... several times. I've seen people reusing memes from 2014 even today.
I've seen it happen in mid-2014, mid 2015, early 2016, mid 2017, early 2018, late 2018, mid 2019, early 2021 and now. I'd make a bet that I will see it happen again and again too. If you are new here this could be interesting news. If you are a veteran, you will already know this.
Is Doge dead? The simple answer is... Impossible. Because of the nature of decentralized currency, it's near on impossible to kill a coin so long as people are using it. It's somewhat similar to a torrent. Doge has been here since 2013 and it will remain.
This is all my opinion but I believe it's a reasonable stance based on the evidence of history. Take from it what you like. I am not a financial adviser. I'm simply an enthusiast who has been here for a very long time and want to share my thoughts.
Day traders: you must be stressed. It's understandable. You can't win every day and it happens from time to time. Coins are going to bounce back. Some will very quickly, some might take the next few days, some might take weeks and some might take longer.
Holders: You will be fine. History has shown that over the long term crypto has grown and there is still plenty of room to grow. You will ride over the bumps and likely continue uphill. How Much Money Is There In The World?
Everyone: You need to keep your coins safe. Don't leave them on an old phone. Don't leave them in a sketchy exchange. Don't be that person who comes back later on and askes everyone how they can get their coins out of the Mt. Gox exchange.
Trolls: This is your time to shine but if you insist on telling people you will eat your hat in the middle of time square if crypto ever recovers be aware our screenshots will never be lost and we will bring them back up in the future to laugh and create wonderful content for this subreddit.
Here are some links I think are appropriate right now.
Life experience from a gay guy, I donβt like to play an identity card but I feel that itβs relevant to the topic.
Most of my friends who are straight men are absolutely starved of affection, respect and emotional support, you canβt even imagine how dire the situation is.
And I know this because a lot of these guys consider me a close friend that theyβll share problems they wouldnβt even do with their SO.
All I do is show them the most basic form of empathy and support - I tell them they look good often. (Because hell, they are! All types of men are fucking beautiful in my gay eyes.) I listen to their problems, try to come up with solutions and I donβt judge or tell them theyβre less of a man because they canβt solve it themselves. Iβm not worried of crossing some imaginary boundary of βthatβs gayβ because I already am.
Itβs really obvious to me - no matter how old these men are, theyβre never too mature of a man to ask someone else for help. They might think they do, but Iβm here to tell them that itβs ok to feel sad or vulnerable or frustrated with not living up to the standard of what a real man is.
And the result of all of that is these men reward me with their trust and friendship, and as corny as this might sound, there really is a sense of accomplishment when you uplift someoneβs spirit, at least thatβs how I feel.
Treat your fellow men better, because you deserve it, and they do too.
The discourse in the daily is a bit ridiculous TBH, newbies are constantly entering the market while things are green and it is scary AF to see all your value plummet the first few times.
It doesn't help anyone to scold newbies asking about the bear market and I'm constantly seeing shit like "well if you need your money back soon you shouldn't be investing in crypto". Even if that's true, there are plenty of nicer ways to say it and we don't need to be driving away newbies who will ultimately help grow the market. We are all in this together, that is the whole point of decentralized finance.
Apologies, I have used Google but seem to get mainly results from the current events that are occuring. I'd like to know the historic context in an easy to understand way before I form an opinion either way. TIA
Edit: Oh my goodness, I've only just come back to this and I'm overwhelmed. Thank you for all your replies and awards! I'm usually a Reddit lurker so this is a complete surprise. I haven't read all your replies yet but will definitely make some time to sit down and read through them all! Thanks again!
I'm one of many users here who have xxx/xxxx+ amounts of shares. I know once things start moving forward with the squeeze, people will think more for themselves.
Those with x/xx shares will wonder, "will my fellow apes that I've held with and endured barrage upon barrage trying to hold the line, will they hold to 10m+ with me so I can have a breath of relief and be set with my family?"
You're just like me.
I say Yes, we will hold for you fellow ape. Your one share is enough and we will make it so by aiming high, beyond 10,000,000M+ a share. Why? That's simple. Because NO APE IS LEFT BEHIND. Because if I can just be a little more patient, I could set you up too. I know we all want to get ours and secure it but I know, if you're like me, eventually when you have so much, you'll naturally want to give it away because everyone around you, is like you. We're not part of the elite. We've so many shared experiences of feeling poor, unworthy, insecure financially and all the stress with it. We get it. That's why we always mock the rich because they just don't get it. Get what it's like to be poor. I'm in no way saying this like a victim, I'm actually thankful for my upbringing even if my family didn't have everything financially because it built compassion, relatability and humbleness. Lots of great qualities who make me unique and worthy in my own respect. But would I want another family to go through that, both parents and their children..?
FUCK NO. It was hard and it tore my family and childhood apart. I missed out on a lot because my parents were either busy working for money, or arguing and stressed about money, or having to SAVE everything to the point where me and my siblings got nothing for our birthdays, or go out to eat or do fun things because of "money". Money doesn't buy happiness but it sure buys time. Time with the family, time to grow, time to enjoy, time to actually LIVE. We've lived our whole lives trying to become financially free. Wishing we were millionaires and imagining all the things WE COULD DO. It buys freedom. My upbringing taught me a good deal but.. I also missed out on a lot of things. Things that money can't buy. Memories, experiences, time. Those moments that we cant ever get back or relive. Family members we can't bring back. Things that could have existed with just a little... money.
We've all been through hard times, some of us more than others. I know the fortunate ones among us are deeply grat
I said "Yes, I'm ready."
He said "I'm sleeping with your wife."
I love reading, always have, but after being laid off and not reading on my commute, I stopped for a good 6 months. I look at my home library of novels next on my list and am overwhelmed.
Fortunately, Little Libraries are popular in my area, and I have picked up several whodunit thrillers, adventure novels, and horror books. I am currently reading "Cyclops" by Clive Cussler and couldn't be happier.
Don't judge anyone, nor yourself on their choice of literature. Sometimes we read to think, sometimes to emote, and sometimes to forget.
Disclaimer: As always, take everything with a grain of salt, and do your own research. Some of this is speculation and not entirely based on facts.

" Also, the one talking about Citadel's total short positions is full of ridiculous assumptions. While it is interesting to see what Citadel's short position value was on 12/20/20, OPs leaps of faith using that info are incredibly shaky (ex. " assuming 50% of these short positions are in GME"....whoa, wait what?).
Please review and add a disclaimer." - u/justsaysso
" Don't get ahead of yourself, fellow ape. That's the amount of all their short positions combined, not just GME. Granted, it COULD just be GME, but it's highly doubtful that is the case. Either way, that was how many months ago? They've had plenty of time to keep digging that hole. PLUS, that doc only shows us their reported short positions. Them illegal naked shorts aren't going to be accounted for. Ya know, cuz illegal. THAT is the number I'm most interested in, though we may never get to know the truth. " - u/Bradduck_Flyntmoore

... keep reading on reddit β‘I know it's a vague question but here's an example:
two or more characters are having a conversation, one says something questionable and the author goes "Bob looked at Ted for a few minutes".
HOW?!? Do they know how long a single minute of staring at someone is? Now i have to picture this guy awkwardly staring at the other for an uncomfortable amount of time...
Even 10 seconds is a lot during a conversation.
I don't know, maybe i'm weird.
PS: well this exploded. If you're a writer new or experienced i suggest you take a dive in the comments, i see a lot of useful tips.
I felt a tear fall down my cheek as the stranger took me farther away from the bar where my friends were oblivious to my disappearance.
Met a guy on tinder a few weeks ago. Super cute. Made me laugh. Checked all the boxes. Except one.
He kept asking me to come over, and when I finally agreed...his first question was "You shave, right?"
I clapped back with a "Nope. Sure don't."
And then he attempted to coax me into doing it for him before i came over.
Block.
Bye.
Nope.
Do YOU ladies. Its one thing if someone wants to converse and inquire things, but dont let someone make you feel inadequate for something you do or dont do.
<3
Edit: i love all the men explaining WHY I need to shave my vagina in my inbox. Gross.
