Itβs generally accepted that peopleβs political and social views can be heavily swayed by what media they take in, and from where it came from. The problem is misinformed people being fed news from Facebook, Instagram, or the constantly running biased news channel.
I hate to break it to you, but wherever you lie on the political spectrum, whatever opinions you think are your own, people are being paid for you to think that. American news outlets constantly use language to portray any scenario in any different light.
If the media outlets are that contradictory on the exact same topic or event, none can be trusted. This is becoming common knowledge, and the peopleβs response is that all the news is that itβs all bad news.
Why not just make a news outlet that only airs good news? Now I know what youβre thinking; βwhatβs good news to one is bad news to anotherβ. No, no, no. I mean actual good news around the world that in many cases would inherently be non-political. You know the kind Iβm referring to that local news airs once per night and the waxy news casters laugh through their botox. Firefighter saves a kid and marries his mom or whatever. woo poor kid gets a scholarship. Family of ducks saved by mexicans. Hippie takes dog on roadtrip. I got tired
It seems a LOT of people are getting a message that their benefits have been temporarily suspended because it "***may be tied to fraudulent activity.***"
I just saw this half an hour ago, about 30 minutes before 2021 kicked in.
I HAVE NOT COMMITTED FRAUD! My rent is due tomorrow, along with other bills! The state has SHUT DOWN businesses that employed me! I cannot find work! This is NOT MY FAULT!!!
Given that so many people are getting the same message, it may be an error on the part of EDD.
IDGAF, and some of the top people at EDD need to be fired.
"You have been receiving unemployment benefits, but we have temporarily suspended your claim because it may be tied to fraudulent activity.
You will receive further instruction from EDD on how to verify your identity beginning January 6, 2021."
Who else has received this stupid message from CA EDD to welcome the new year?
If you present first, you can relax for the rest of the time. No one is going to be as harsh on your presentation because there's nothing and no one to compare it to. You also won't be the last presentation on everyone's minds because you went so early on. Sitting in fear won't help you prepare for your presentation at all and will only cause you to overthink.
According to the IRS Website.
"For purposes of the employer shared responsibility provisions, a full-time employee is, for a calendar month, an employee employed on average at least 30 hours of service per week, or 130 hours of service per month."
So, if your company is scheduling you 39 hours a week and refusing to give you benefits, they have been wrong and you are entitled to all of the back benefits and pay.
While you cannot be fired for contacting the BOLI, the company will almost certainly not be happy. And if you live in an at-will state, chances are they will find a reason to fire you later on.
So if you do this, make sure to talk to all of the fellow employees and tell them, and tell them your wages, as that is not illegal in the US either.
As always, I am just a dude on reddit, contact a lawyer before making any moves, your mileage may vary, etc.
This info is not complete so reach out to a lawyer or labor professional (not HR) if you think there is an issue with your hours.
Being stuck at home unable to work, everyone received 2000 per person per month.
You know what my disabled parents received? 1400 dollars a month for the PAIR of them. They weren't eligible for CERB.
That was before the pandemic, you know what they got during the first wave of lockdowns?
An extra 100 bucks, but they had to grovel for it, it wasn't automatically added on. We found out about the extra 100 bucks 2 months in, they said it was too late to receive that extra 200 bucks and we are shit out of luck.
Imagine trying to survive, unable to work, when the government thinks 1400 a month is enough to survive on for two people.
That's barely 8 dollars an hour, or 4 dollars an hour per person.
The government treats their disabled community like trash and treats them like shit for being unable to work.
I had to move back in with my parents because they would be homeless without me. My wages barely cover our expenses. You know what the government did because I moved back in? They cut their disability support amount by 100 dollars.
Ontario is forcing it's disabled community into poverty and no one cares.
Imagine how you've felt for the last year, unable to pay bills and receiving horrible support from the government, and now extend it for the next 40 years of your life.
The amount of posts I've seen of disabled people considering assisted suicide because they can't afford to live is heartbreaking.
ODSP is disgusting. We fucking need help.
This helped me a while back when I hurt my dominant hand and was unable to brush my teeth. Luckily, I was already comfortable brushing my teeth with my non-dominant hand. I also noticed that my teeth felt cleaner when I brushed with both hands. I realized that I was stuck in a pattern of only brushing a certain way with one hand, and switching it up made me teeth feel cleaner.
Edit: yeah, I realize now I could have worded the title better. I didn't mean to hold the toothbrush with BOTH hands at the same time.
Shows Bungies priorities. And I'm sick of it tbh
Edit: dang just woke up and saw the tremendous response. I just want to clarify that this was (if not obvious) a salty and emotional post just venting some frustrations with the game and progression in general IN THIS SEASON SPECIFICALLY. Yes I know the practical aspects of changing certain things in game versus others take more time. But I stand by the notion that Bungie really needs to consider the optics of their practices. If you can't fix Witherhoard or exotic glitches in a timely manner then fine. But don't go patching loot farming methods in a few hours and expecting the community to respond favorably.
Edit 2: I also want to clarify that I do not think players are in any way entitled to an exploit. Riven should never have been cheesed. Wardcliff should have never given extra heavy ammo. Etc. Etc.
Edit 3: its hilarious the amount of toxic negativity I see on both sides. Polarizing tbh. It's either that I'm a crybaby or this game is trash and doesn't deserve our time. Neither of those things are true, please stop with the extremism and name calling. No one is taking you seriously.
