It seems like it is slowly fading away in favour of Russian. Is it going to be the next βIrishβ(being that the govβt is doing all it can to suppress it)? I know a person who shall remain nameless said that you can never speak eloquently in Belarusian. I donβt think thatβs the case, and I donβt want the language to be driven into extinction.

Im interested in reading some Belarusian literature, what are some of the most famous and well known native books in Belarus?
This isn't related to Russian, I know, but the Belarusian subreddit has less members than the Scottish Gaelic one (lol) and I know all Belarusians are Russian speakers, so I'm genuinely curious how alive Belarusian is? Is it compatible to the state of, say, Scottish Gaelic in Scotland and Irish Gaelic in Ireland?
I know some people in Belarus can speak Belarusian, but is there anywhere in the country where it is the dominant language?
I've heard that Poland actually has more places where Belarusian is spoken, but surely there must be somewhere in Belarus where it's spoken too...right?
Edit: do they use pure Belarusian as colloquial language?

Does Worf only speak Klingon or Belarusian and rely on the universal translator for the rest? Could he have grown up speaking Klingon (as about a 5 year old child) and relying on the universal translator to communicate with his adoptive parents in Minsk? Is it acceptable to use machine translation in a military-style chain of command?
