A few months ago I asked for help with my dying begonia. Nobody answered, so I just took the most healthy looking leaf, let it grow some roots, repotted it and hoped for the best. Welcome back, baby! imgur.com/Gb0uSHF
TLDR: never throw away a growable stump. I bought this polka dot begonia cutting, sprayed it way to much to the point that the leaves rot, THEN dropped the container so the stem snapped in half, entire thing rotted to a little 2 cm stump but it has blessed me with a lil leaf :) reddit.com/gallery/icsjdl

Buying more begonias...tips?
I’m looking into buying some Rex begonias or additional cane begonias, but I’m not sure how their care compares to the cane I already have. Do they need a humidifier? More light? Less? I’m looking at getting some from Hirts as a bday present to myself so any tips would be appreciated!

Just a little plug for the American Begonia Society!
So I first became obsessed with begonias less than 3 years ago but their diversity and collectibility have hooked me. I just found out about the American Begonia Society and I'm so happy to join them! It's like $25 for an entire year and you get access to this amazing magazine called the Begonian which is bimonthly. Here's some pics from this month's issue (pic1 pic2) which showcases brand new begonias that have just been made available!!
Even if you're just a novice like myself, if you love begonias you should totally support the Begonia society with an annual membership.
$25 for a year?
They have been around since 1932 and support the cultivation, preservation and advancement of begonias around the world. And unfortunately in a time when houseplants are more popular than ever, interest in plant societies is waning as the old ladies that usually inhabit these clubs die off
