I need a half- to 3/4 sleeve depicting "Backbone "

I'm based in Leeds, UK but love to travel and would be happy to travel almost anywhere in Europe and Scandinavia for the right artist.

Backbone means a lot to me and I'd love to learn about any artists who are as obsessed with Gojira as I am, and might like to design my half sleeve? Am happy to pay for design itself if for some reason we couldn't go ahead with the actual tattoo. No choosing beggars here.

My longest current tattoo took a full 8 hours in one sitting; I can sit. No worries.

Thank you so much in advance for any info/suggestions and of course , pls, mods, remove if not allowed.

But this is just not true because sperm is produced in the testicles.

Need to name my MIL, and other thoughts

I haven't responded to any of her daily text messages since she arrived unannounced and uninvited on Hallows eve... unless you count my darn smartphone texting her saying "I'm Driving- sent from MY CAR" on Friday. Ugh. Her texts are like "Hi! Thinking of you. Love MIL xoxo" and "Happy Rememberance Day xoxo"-- wtf it's not a happy day. I am in the military but don't "celebrate" the day of remembering my fallen comrades. Fucking BEC.

Anyways I am largely pregnant still. Just gestating and waiting for DD #2 to arrive. This weekend has been me, DH and DD just hanging out- our first weekend home alone together in almost 2 months.

MIL texts DH today and says something along the lines of "I'll need a visit soon, and tomorrow is the only day this month that works for me, so let me know." Unprompted, DH responds "no that doesn't work for us." >>> Good man! He's learning that he doesn't have to justify or give a reason.

So then I mention to DH, don't you understand her passive aggressive ways? She's saying she basically MUST come tomorrow because no other days work for her, yet she feels the need to remind us daily that she will take care of DD when we're at the hosptial, and will be there for "her babbbbyyyyy" to be born. I think I saw something in him click, he's doing better at seeing how she is and how controlling she is in every situation.

Anyways so MIL and FIL are separated and getting divorced. So mil is super clingy with DH over the last 2 weeks or so. I called my sil who's 19 and in university. She's not close with her mom at all. I told her about Halloween incident and she said, yeah well her whole life she never got her way until she met my dad and had us, her older sister and other family always "won" so she has a hard time with us strong females with backbones (meaning myself and SIL). Definitely rings true, nice to have her to bitch with.

MIL texts DH back after dinner and says "ok fine (to not being able to visit tomorrow). But let me know baby news asap." Like hell I ever would. But this is where I can't get DH to see how I don't want her knowing I'm even in labour... we have all of our bases covered for my parents to take DD while we are at the hospital, there is nothing flawed with the plan, no matter time of day- our daycare provider will either come to our house and stay with DD until my mom and dad come get her if we head to the hospital middle of the night, other plan is bring DD to city where hospital is (1.5 hours away from

Help me understand OSPF areas

I am not a network guy, but I like learning about networking. I think if more apps people like me knew more about networking there'd be a lot less finger pointing about where the problem lies.

In any case, I'm trying to learn about OSPF, but I'm having a lot of difficulty fully understanding how to differentiate areas properly. Do a GIS search for "ospf area" and you'll see a lot of images and often not that much of pattern as to how areas should truly be divided.

I have four old Juniper routers in my home "lab" and I've set them up in two different scenarios shown here:

http://imgur.com/a/HRam0

Scenario 1 is typical hub and spoke, while scenario 2 is basically scenario 1 with a connection between B and C, forming a loop (L3 /30, don't worry about spanning tree or Ethernet loops).

From this:

https://www.juniper.net/documentation/en_US/junos14.2/topics/concept/ospf-areas-overview.html

My understanding is that in Scenario 1 all router to router interfaces would be area 0 as there is no real backbone. However, with scenario 2, the A-B-C loop forms a backbone, meaning those interconnects would be area 0 while the A-Internet Router link would be a different area.

Am I completely off track here? If so, what would be the proper way to divide these examples into areas?

Finally, I've read some articles that suggest since nowadays routers are so powerful there's no need to bother having separate areas except in huge enterprises and ISPs; i.e. trying to use multiple areas in my teeny examples is a waste of time. Thoughts?

When Circle & ABRA say that BTC will be the backbone of everything - are they just "avoiding" correcting themselves to mean LTC>

Can someone explain why we have heard the narrative that ABRA choose LTC to be it's underlying backbone but they had to start out with BTC at launch, but it doesn't get pushed much. I have had a Chat with Ahmed at ABRA recently where he confirmed they are all switched over to LTC now as of the first of the year.

At the same time I've read articles that Jack Dorsey (I think) believes BTC will be the sole backbone for all on the blockchain. But, I thought LTC and LN and Atomic Swaps were all created so that LTC could essentially take the "backbone," role for BTC transactions.

So I don't quite understand what is happening when Bill at Abra and Jack at Circle speak SOLELY about Bitcoin in this way. Are they just thinking that the BTC brand is so much stronger - so why confuse people about LTC's critical role - and just lump it all in and call it "the Bitcoin / Blockchain?"

Can someone confirm what is going on here?

I’m a healthcare professional who has spent the last week in a COVID unit. Your #1 fall prep should be a flu shot.

It’s bad in there. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not. The hospital where I was working has a large dedicated COVID ICU. It’s full. Their expansion units are full. I watched patients move out while I was there, but it wasn’t long before a new patient was moved in.

The numbers in my area are leveling off a bit, but they’re leveling off at a very high plateau. At this level, the units are staying full. The good news is that the summer is typically slower for hospitals and they’re typically on the emptier side. The bad news is that admissions for nearly every disease state increase during the winter, and patients with the flu start coming in as well. I don’t predict any behavioral change, lockdown, etc that will drive the COVID numbers down. The only hope we have is that people start using masks more and that has a positive impact on the numbers. OTOH, I also predict that very few people will have the backbone to decline family gatherings for Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, etc. I know that’s a hard thing to do.

I predict a disaster this fall within hospitals. If you get sick and need to go, you should go. Especially if it’s something like a heart attack. You can survive some heart attacks without treatment, but you’ll have permanent damage the rest of your life and it will absolutely impact your quality of life. That may seem like a no brainer, but in March/April heart attacks virtually went away worldwide. It’s not that they weren’t happening. It’s that people weren’t coming to the hospital. Thats happening again now.

For us we’re going to do everything possible to not need to go in the first place, especially for COVID. I mean avoiding disease, not avoiding the hospital if you need it. Patient outcomes drop as hospital census increases. There have been numerous studies on that but it’s really common sense.

One of the easiest things you can do is get a flu shot. I was against those when they started mandating them for HCWs. I’ve never had the flu in my life. I became a believer when my entire close and extended family got it over Christmas one year. I was the only one who didn’t. I was the only one who had the flu shot. I’ll be first in line this year to get mine.

Remember you can get flu and COVID at the same time.

ETA - I think most people get what I’m trying to say, but to clarify - you can get the flu and COVID at the same time. We haven’t experienced that yet in this country. One of those diseases is somewhat preventable with a vaccinati

My work got COVID and MIL blames me for SO not getting to meet his newborn nephew.

Don’t post this anywhere, blah....

As the title goes, my work had 2 employees test positive for COVID. One of them was an elderly man who’s in the hospital now and the other is a younger girl who is showing no symptoms but is a carrier. Our work is still open, and unless you get sick or have pre-existing conditions, you’re still required to show up.

Well when I heard the news, my first instinct was to let all family and friends to know what’s going on and that under no exceptions will I be leaving the house unless I’m going to and from work. Our city was slowly opening so we were slowly going back to normal, but now we’re quarantined again. I will do this until I get tested on the 30th, the next available appointment.

I texted MIL: “Goodmorning! An employee at my store tested positive for COVID. We are still required to work until we get tested, but in the meantime I will be quarantined for 2 weeks (with the exception of work). I'm just letting you know that we won't be going to (town) because of this, and we won't be allowing anyone to come over. I hope you understand “

MIL: “awwww of course.”

1 hr later

SO sends screenshot of What MIL sent him: “My friends just got it, they’re doing real bad, it’s too bad you might have it and won’t see the baby. Also I still refuse to wear masks”

We both text a little more about how she’s an idiot and putting the baby’s life at risk. She’s breaking quarantine by working as an at home manicurist and she has a sign outside her door that states “No Muzzles in God’s Home”.

She then calls him later when I’m home and asks him that when the baby is born if he’ll come to town and come see it since he’ll be an uncle for the first time.

SO gets a feeling that she’s going to escalate and puts her on speaker.

My SO replies no since we have the potential of being COVID carriers, and that we do not want to put anybody at risk. She persists stating that he’s fine, he’s healthy, he needs to do this for his brother’s first baby, he’s letting family down... then he cuts her off and says no and that’s final.

MIL: “I know what this is. I know Rumchata hates kids and she’s just making this lie to not meet my baby (Yes she said MY baby). She’s ruining the day for all of us and you will regret not being there for the baby’s birth. It’s her fault for working when she should’ve stayed home if she was so scared of the virus. Q: When will I not have to select a ball when the count is divisible by 9.

Team: Design

A: The reason the ‘9 uses reselect’ exists, is that we found that a lot of new players didn't understand they could change from the basic ball; once they selected a ball, they would never change ball again (until they ran out). We want people to understand the strategy of using different balls for different situations so every 9 balls we would force visibility on the ball select screen as a reminder. However, we understand for established players that can be frustrating. We're considering a change which would prevent this reselection dialog appearing in certain situations. E.g. During tournament games or if you have changed ball in the last x games.

u/ mjosson

Q: Have you thought of and could you implement new game modes such as sit n go tournaments, clan friendlies, shot out race (4-8 people start at the same time and one is eliminated for each hole until a final winner)? Something that suits those not into grinding tour play but still keeps them interest in the game.

Team: Design

A: These are all great ideas and ones that have all been discussed at length at various times. Some of these ideas would require a lot of dev time and there is no guarantee that they'd be enjoyed or played in the way we'd like. Without going into details, we will be looking at new mechanics to keep things fresh. It's likely that we'll use tournaments as a testbed to try new things and explore ideas that people like before integrating them into the game as a separate mode.

I am CCIE and will not follow your moronic script feom some idiot support monkey!!!!

Sorry so long, but it is worth it.

Okay, so several years ago I was working as a senior support rep, AKA Supervisor, for a third party support company that handled calls for acompany that provided DSL service. Let's call it WellMouth, the company has since been acquired by another one called...BU&U.

So my job was simple, wait for someone to ask for a supervisor, then tame the wild Karen.(Even though the term had not been invented yet.) So I am going through my normal nightly routine of reading web comics, arguing over nerd stuff, and taking escalations. I had a pretty uneventful night, and then one of our front-line reps comes over in tears. She explained that there was some angry IT type guy on the phone, and he flat refused to troubleshoot ANYTHING. (Which was normal) I asked why she was crying, and then she started telling me some of the awful things we said to her. I on most occasions backed our reps if they tried, some didn't, but most were there making $9.00/hr to get yelled at by entitled jerks, and still managed to care about the quality of there work. I told her to transfer him directly to me, and even told her to come listen to the call so she could see how I handled it.

Now, I need to let you know, I had a real reputation of being able to absolutely shut down the worst of the worst. I could tell people they were wrong in a way that made them apologize and thank me for the time. Also the reason I said to directly transfer the call, was if it was being recorded, I wanted this to live on a server for eternity. You see if she transferred the the escalation queue, all recording stopped, but not on direct transfers.

Me: Hello sir you are now on the line with cryptratdaddy, I am a supervisor here at WellMouth, and I understand your DSL service isn't working?

Jerk: Listen here moron, your team of monkeys couldn't troubleshoot your way through pissing your own pants, and you won't put me through some stupid script for things I have already figured out. I am CCIE, do you know what that means you idiot?!?!? I make more in a month building the damn internet you need to look up your answers on the web. now...

This is where I tuned out as I really did not need to know anything else, because while he ranted, I was doing my normal due diligence, you know, checking for DSL service outages, maintenance, and other factors that affect service. This also included the national power grid service alert system. You see we had access to a toll that showed (wit

Analysis paralysis - small modules kind of suck for app developers

Here are some libraries you might use for http requests

Research which ones actually do what you need it to do, which are actively maintained, which look like they'll continue to be maintained in a year (many are maintained by a single person, so you might want to do some sleuthing on how dependable that person is), which ones have nice APIs, browser support, did I miss anything?

Now let's do DOM ready

How about if you want to extend an object. I'll just link to the search page with 3860 results

Used to be you'd do a scan for which libraries to learn and use - jquery vs prototype vs mootools, lodash vs underscore. With the growing trend of smaller and smaller modules, and usage of utility-belt libraries like jQuery and to some extent even lodash being shunned, it seems like a lot more time is wasted on putting together a custom front end stack down to individual functions.

Those in favour of small modules usually mention Unix tools' philosophy of "doing one thing well", but did Unix have this deluge of modules that do basically the same thing and get abandoned after a few months?

It brings to mind an argument from an article a few years back when people were debating over Backbone vs more opinionated frameworks like Angular -

> Each time you need to make a decision, it costs. There is an overhead in making that decision. Choosing Backbone means you have to make a hell lot of decisions, so the cost is high. The interesting question is : What do you gain by having the freedom to make these decisions? [source]

Replace "Backbone" with "small modules"

What are the problems that small modules solve, and are they worth the cost?

FYI - A "pilot episode" is a specific thing, not a synonym for the first episode of a show. A lot of shows don't have a pilot episode.

I keep seeing the term "pilot" being used incorrectly and thought I'd try to clear it up for those that don't know the specific industry meaning. I know Reddit often doesn't like to be corrected so, if you want to downvote this post, knock yourself out. But some people might want to know this, it's kind of interesting.

TV shows are hugely expensive to make and each network only has so many slots for new original programming in their schedule and budget. To make sure that they're not wasting money and resources on a finished product that they don't even want to air, a network will order a "pilot" episode of a potential series to be made.

If they like the pilot, they will "pick it up" and order more episodes. If they don't, they might try to sell the show to another network, but usually the show just dies and the pilot goes into a vault, never to be seen by the public. If a pilot is particularly expensive, they might try to turn it into a movie and sell it that way, but this is pretty rare. Over the years, thousands of pilots have been made with full casts and crews and never made it to air.

For example, in 2019 NBC ordered 14 pilots to be made for their new season. Out of those, they picked up 8 to air on their network, and one of them was sold to ABC. The rest never aired.

A pilot is made in isolation like a movie. It will often be filmed "on location" to avoid the expense of constructing sets that might only be used once. If the pilot is picked up to series, these locations will be recreated on a soundstage, which is why things often look slightly different in a show's second episode.

When a pilot wraps filming, the cast and crew are under contract to continue with the show if it gets picked up, but they go their separate ways until a decision is made by the network, usually looking for other work in the meantime.

The time between a pilot being made and a show being picked up to series can vary, which can lead to things like actors noticeably aging, locations becoming unavailable, etc. The show My So-Called Life filmed its pilot in March 1993, but the show didn't go to series until a full calendar year later. Game of Thrones filmed its pilot in November 2009 and was picked up by HBO four months later in March 2010. The Lost pilot (the most expensive pilot in history at the time) was filmed in April 2004 and almost immediately picked up the following month, with the series resuming

First Contact - TOTAL WAR - 245 (Black Box)

[first] [prev] [next]

The news of not only who Victor was being confirmed but also the news of what he had accomplished, in retrieving both extinct species and bringing back the Sleeping Ones raced through the Black Box. The only ones who didn't show any signs of shock were the Confederate Agents, who simply nodded and stared at the being speaking to them as if they were looking at a particularly bright rock.

For the first few days everyone avoided Victor, who seemed content to merely stare at the Sleeping Ones and the cats and dogs in stasis cubes in the dimly lit chilly room, idly playing with a dataslate. Delta noticed that he had a still image of Osiris the Immortal Warsteel Flame on the datapad, staring at the heavy duty combat chassis version and the flesh and blood version.

Then came the questions, which either Victor ignored, told the questioner to mind their own business, or answered reluctantly.

Yes, he'd brought them back. No, he didn't remember how. Yes, being planet-cracked had a tendency to affect one's memory.

It was a week later that a ship docked with the Black Box and a single crate was offloaded before the ship detached and jumped into hyperspace while the Black Box shifted stellar position and reengaged the security protocols.

Everyone was called into the "Family Meeting Room" when the box was brought it.

It was old, battered, made from heavy duty plas over tempered steel, with locking hatches on the sides and heavy duty hinges. It was marked with scratched and faded logos that could no longer be read.

"What's in it?" Flower asked, moving around it, examining it with her senses. "Wow, organic petroleum plastic, organic and synthetic paint, magnetic resistant stainless steel, Faraday caging protection for the contents. It's old. What is it?"

Victor waited until everyone had a chance to look at it.

"I wanted you all to see the box. What you're about to see is a secret," Victor said.

"There's not even a classification code for a secret this big," one of the Confederate Agents said.

Victor moved up and undid the latches, opening the box to reveal shock protection cradling six small boxes of white plastic.

"There are twelve of these in existence. We now have six of them,

FMIL says she won't come to the wedding to which I accidentally replied "Thank God"

My FMIL cannot handle anything not being about her, the birth of her first grandchild - all about her (it ruined her vacation even though she didn't not go on vacation and instead missed the birth), the engagement - all about her and how she created this love, the list goes on.

Now that COVID is a thing she wants all eyes on her, gets pissy that people aren't checking on her daily (why would we she isn't that old, not sick, and there were no cases in the tiny town in the middle of nowhere where she lives only cases in the town over). She was a bitch about the rehearsal dinner planning so she lost those privileges and now, out of the blue she texted that she won't be coming to the wedding and I texted "thank god" I didnt mean too really, I was thinking it and it happened. Now she is more pissed than I think anyone has ever seen her.

She is only being invited to the wedding out of courtesy, she is an alcoholic and ruins almost all family events by starting fights and getting hurt. We are planning on hiring security just incase she gets out of hand and we don't want to put the pressure of dealing with her on any of the other guests.

The entire freaking family tip toes around her and I guess now I'm the first person who doesn't give a shit what queen FMIL thinks or wants. I hit my breaking point after she threw all of my fiance's childhood belongings away as well as family heirlooms and all the stuff he was storing there. She has nothing, there's no benefit in being nice to her, she isn't nice to anyone else, time to grow up and have a backbone people she can't do anything to you except make you feel bad. Time to stop enabling. Ugh. I just wish I wasn't the only one. My fiance just flat out ignores her, if we have to see her he won't even acknowledge her presence except for a hello and a goodbye, but the rest of her children and their spouses will bend over backwards to please her even though she won't go a day without drinking to see them or to go to events where alcohol isn't served.

Bend but Don't Break - The Story of Shuichi Saihara (Bigger and Better)

Following the Saimatsu analysis I posted, I continued updating my analysis of Shuichi, and I ended up finding a lot more about him than I expected, with a lot more counters and a lot more observations. Also, thanks to my summer project for school, I've become a lot better at expressing my viewpoints. Finally, even though I hate the fact that there are negative opinions about him, a lot of essays (namely Bokkun's from Rankdown 2 which is actually pretty damn solid, even if it has some questionable parts) makes sense. So I'm going to post my discussion again. This time, I'll be more argumenative than before, and rather than giving a simple synopsis, I'll actually try to explain what makes him so good. So let's try this again. This is... Why I Love Shuichi Saihara. Again.

Introduction - Who is this... "Shuichi Saihara?"

Shuichi Saihara is the main protagonist of Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, with his talent being the Ultimate Detective, which is the 2nd use of this talent in the series. He is also the 2nd character we ever see in the game. We begin his journey through the eyes of Kaede Akamatsu, who quickly grows to be his closest friend. Shuichi wears a hat because of a murder that had a dire "but" to it, which I'll go in-depth with later. Unfortunately, Groundhog Day rears its ugly head and Kaede ends up being Rantaro's killer. Shuichi believed this was his fault with his deductions (which is ended up being to not be the case), and was haunted by this until Kaito Momota came around and took him under his wing. Kaito would become Shuichi's closest friend (again). Shuichi now goes on a journey to build confidence, balance truths and lies, end the killing game, and ultimately, end Danganronpa altogether.

It's a simple story, but it's very deep all the same, and that's why I like it so much. Now why is this? Well, for one, I love the hero's journey arc. It's my personal favorite. But now we need to go deeper. Far deeper. Like, my original write-up multiplied by infinity. Let's begin with one of the most controversial moves in the game - the protagonist switch... and how it actually helps both parties.

Kaede Akamatsu - A Contrast Among The Greats

This section will be relatively unchanged from my original write-up. I still ship these two together a ton, and individually, they're still in The Elite 3 for the series. Kaede is the decoy protagonist and the front-and-center character during the Prol

BJP has destroyed the Indian Army's image as a professional Army.

Unlike Pakistan which is governed by military and heavily invests in Army, India invested in Army very slowly and carefully.

For a 200 year colonized vast country like India, an excess of expenditure on Army at the very beginning means huge set back in other Developmental fields which forms the backbone of Indian economy. ( 75 yrs is still a beginning for a Democracy)

It's the reason why Japan even after being bombed by America, accepted America's proposal to let America guard Japan's borders while the Japanese put all their money in Education , Industrialization, Modernization and other Social Development sectors. Now when their economy has gained stability (agedness crisis in Japan economy is to be ignored) they are moving towards militarization.

It's the same reason why Nehru and Congress formed the Non-Alignment Movement, kept friends in the neighbourhood, even with China and dealt with them diplomatically. Military expenditure was kept minimum as much as possible and most of the military budget was used to build indigenous defense technologies.

This move has been shown as " Weakening, demeaning, disrespect of Indian Army " by BJP. They are fooling people by showing that Congress is Anti India who are conspiring with Pakistan and China by keeping Indian Army poor and ill - equipped.

The current atmosphere of Hyper Nationalism and disrespect towards our neighbours and anything that is not Indian has made SE Asian countries hostile towards India and friendly towards China. China and America and Europe are using this.

America and China are natural enemies, further the shift in Chinese economy from low cost equipment to high cost advanced quality products has given a tough competition to America as it loses it's market to China. China is also investing in Africa and Middle East and taking them to it's side , whom the Europe and America has only looted . The only point for America to counter China is India. Their false support towards India against China has got India to sign billion dollars military contract with America and Europe. This money should have been invested to build indigenous Defense equipments. And China is using our neighbours to isolate India.

Indian Army used to be the most professional Army, fighting when it's needed. Now it has reduced to BJP's PR stunt show . People mock the Army, asking for proof for Surgical Strike. American soldiers filmed the assassination of Osama , then Why didn't Indian Army filmed the Surgica

[Attack of the Clones] Count Dooku was a philosopher-king who gave Kenobi 2 ½ chances to help him bring utopia to the galaxy and nearly succeeded without him.

The Theory:

Dooku knew that the Republic's corruption was so endemic that no amount of reform was ever going to fix it. As a political idealist, simply toppling Palpatine and taking over the Republic would have been a distasteful prospect. He was a count, an aristocrat. That made him better than the common man of the Republic, better than the sleazy politicians like his master Palpatine who ran it, better than the government tools like the Jedi who protected it. His vision was clearer, his doctrine was purer, his ideals more righteous.

As someone better he was burdened with greater purpose, Dooku would not simply overthrow his master, but rather provide the galaxy with an alternative to the Republic, so superior and exceptional that it would implode. He'd be the midwife to a galactic utopia, then hand it off to Kenobi to secure his legacy.

Evidence:

BIRTH OF A RIVAL

From paper tiger to real tiger. Palpatine merely intended the CIS be perceived as a great threat to the Republic, but Dooku was working overtime to make it true. The Trade Federation, the Banking Clan and the Techno Union had all pledged to support it. The Corporate Alliance and Commerce Guild were the next two prospects Dooku sought to add as backers. With all those groups invested in it, the CIS would then have the industrial, financial, commercial and military base that would allow it to be the author of its own destiny.

It happened right under Palpatine's nose. Palpatine knew Dooku was on Geonosis and even who he was meeting since they were also allied to him, but didn't know that Dooku was working a backroom deal to secure the CIS's independence from him. As Palpatine's puppet, Dooku wouldn't have needed to negotiate treaties with them to fund the war, he'd be able to order them to provide whatever he needed by Palpatine's authority. If Dooku was brokering his own deals to supply the CIS, it's because he's cutting them a better deal in order to prepare for his uprising against Palpatine.

As for the backers, they were funding both sides, so as long as they made money it didn't matter to them who won the war.

WHY BRING KENOBI ONBOARD?

Dooku knew he would leave his masterwork unfinished. He was old and Palpatine was already grooming his replacement. Despite his idealism, the backbone of the CIS was made up of the same corrupt corporations as the Republic meaning it was destined to share the same fate. The only thing keeping them in che

Manipulative Power hungry Aunt torments my family for years. Costs her $300000

Dealt with my shitty manipulative abusive Aunt all my life, finally got revenge.

Players: Myself (M late 30s), Sister (3 year younger), Aunt (Older "Sister" to my Mother), Mother (Single Mom, adopted, no blood relation to my Aunt). Cousins (3 total, 1M, 2F. I have good relationships with them now, mostly).

My estranged father who had been living several counties over, is pretty much out of the picture by the time my parents got their divorce when I was 9. Due to financial hardship, we were forced to live with my Aunt and the nightmare of a household we would soon find ourselves in. My Aunt married into Georgia "Wealth" and you can figure out what that means on your own. She had 3 kids and eventually caught her husband having an affair. It's a huge scandal, she gets the house, the kids and a fat payout from the family attorney. This is important because my Aunt didn't do a damn thing in her life to earn her money, her house, her lifestyle or basically anything. She was born poor along with my Mom.

Under her household, she was drunk with power. Years of therapy have allowed me to recognize that certain people when in a position of power, get a perverse pleasure in ordering others to do their bidding. She was the strictest of authoritarians in every possible way you could imagine. Chores had to be completed by an exact specific time. Vacuuming by 3:45pm, Dishes by 3:55pm, Laundry days for my Mother us kids were Tues/Thurs 5:35pm-7:55pm. If it was still running, she would shut the power off for the two units. As we grew older, her own kids opted to stay with their father for full time custody and she had them on Weekends. Even they couldn't stand her when she was in charge and in the house. As time passed, she got them less and less opting for alternating weekends as Highschool activities took precedence over time with Mother.

For my sister and I, the large 6 bedroom house was not ours for the taking. My mom had to pay rent as well as rent for 1 bedroom as that was all she could afford on her salary. We had to share a bedroom until my second year of HS. All the while there was 1 spare unused bedroom available at all times. My Aunt needed this for "Guests" when they stayed over. Not one guest stayed there in the 10 years I was under that roof. Finally the church we attended told my Aunt to give up the spare bedroom so my sister can have her own room as it was "unhealthy" for two teenagers sharing a room together like that. That infuriated my Aunt bec

The ultimate guide on shooting in Nba 2k20 and how to improve for 2k21

I often see people complain about how these elites don’t miss. They green all these contested 3s but they can’t hit wide open catch and shoot 3s. With 2k21 on the horizon I thought I’d make a guide on how to become a knockdown shooter in 2k. For my credentials, I’m an Elite 1 shooting 62% from 3 in the park, 73% in the rec, and 68% in pro am. I am by no means the best player in the game, so if you want to post how your splits are better go ahead, I’m just here to help all the players who want to get better at shooting.

 1. Find a jump shot you like and stick with it

The most important piece of advice I can give to you is to find a jump shot and stick with it. So how do you find the right jump shot for you? In the first few weeks of the game releasing the community will have found the majority of the good jump shots , so check reddit, youtube and twitter to find them. Casual players do not understand how much of a disadvantage they are at by picking a bad jump shot. When I see a bad shooter the first mistake they often make is picking a shot they like offline that just isn’t good in online games. The reasoning is sound. Klay Thompson might be the best catch and shooter in the league, but his jump shot? Complete garbage. You typically want to avoid jump shot bases named after players, although there are a good amount of exceptions (wade, allen, exum). Pick one of the meta jump shots and find which one you like by experimenting in your mycourt.

 1. Master your jump shot

Seems easy enough right? Just play some rec and park and you’ll find your timing right? Practice makes perfect, so it’s time to go into your own personal hypebolic time chamber, the mycourt. The mycourt has one special feature that will turn you into a sniper: the ball machine. Ball dominant guards might want to practice in just shoot around, but it doesn’t hurt to know your catch and shoot timing as well.

The ball machine will become your best friend. Walk into your mycourt and press A and it should bring up a list of modes, then select ball machine. My routine is to follow the basic 3pt contest system, take 5 shots from each corner, wing and the top of the key. I usually go until I can green from every spot for 3 straight trials, so a total of 15 shots. Sometimes I do it in one try, some times it takes a few tries. Just relax and learn your timing, there is no stress or no mean messages coming your way. I usually play a podcast or some music and just fire away shots. For those lookin

The reason why everyone hates PvP. Things Bethesda need to change/implement in order to save this feature while keeping both PvE and PvP players happy.

Thank you for clicking into my post!

Please read before downvoting! If you don't agree with me by the end of my post then do as you will.

And please let me be clear, im not trying to say either side is at fault. The only group at fault is Bethesda. Let's get into it.

Hey all,

I have over 3500 hours in FO76 and over 1500 hours PvP experience. Ive been here for every meta since release. Ive brought up PvP balances here before and even got a response from a Bethesda community manager here: https://www.reddit.com/r/fo76/comments/em4m3c/bethesda_please_acknowledge_that_you_do_in_fact

After browsing this sub A LOT, to see both sides of the community's opinions on PvP on this game, I have came up with an idea that I believe both sides would happily agree with. As well as a reminder that a certain item needs rebalancing in order to begin fixing PvP because we all know there is a lot of work to do there.

First things first-

YOU MUST SEPARATE PVP SERVERS FROM PVE SERVERS ENTIRELY

I know this comes off a bit harsh, but this is what needs to be done.

When I saw the headline about how shocked you were that so few people wanted to PvP, I was shocked as well.

Shocked as to how you didn't understand why people hated that mode, and here's why.

IF PEOPLE DONT WANT TO PVP DO NOT TRY TO FORCE/ENTICE THEM TO.

Survival mode was perfect! But then you messed with the leader boards, then nerfed how much aid you drop, then messed with the leaderboards again making it so the people with the most XP show up on the map (just why??) And then continued to butcher the mode until you got rid of it completely.

And why? To appease PvE players who hated playing the mode, they were just there for the rewards. They didn't WANT to be there, but how else are they gonna get an unstoppable monster?

Here's the thing, you guys added all of these extra challenges that awarded atoms and cool legendaries, as well as double XP to survival ONLY.

Why is that a big problem?

The PvE is the majority of the player base and there's no arguing that. Additionally, most of the people who PvE are also farmers and know near nothing of PvP builds because they don't care to, which is absolutely okay. But, they want those challenges and rewards too, and especially the double XP.

Now when there's balance changes who does Bethesda cater to? The majority. Who happen to be PvE players. Resulting in, the untimely death of survival and the beginning of nearly a year without a balance patch.

What yo

So y’all attacking people who flex reps now?

You handpicked the perfect pair without any flaws, perfect stitching, and every tiny detail was combed over. Your middleman probably hates you because of how nitpicky you are. All because you want them to be uncalloutable. You want to “wear with confidence” as they say in the sub. Then the moment someone even notices what youre wearing and opens their mouth to utter something about them (likely a compliment) you shit your pants...

tHeY ArE FaKeeE 😅🙏😅🙏😅🙏

Ffs there was even one guy on here that took his shoe off in a public setting to let some completely random chode analyze them. I mean this is ridiculous.

Now if you are of the belief that you need to let everyone who even glances at your Travis 1 high GD 4.0 know they are fake then by all means do you. But when you see someone on IG or tiktok flexing reps as real you should never be calling them out and bullying them for doing so. This has got to be the most hypocritical thing you can do. When your entire closet is filled with reps that you support for all the reasons I mentioned in the beginning you can’t stand it when someone else flexes them. Even though that’s what they’re made for. So to make yourself feel better for not having a backbone to “wear with confidence” you want to lash out and call out anyone you see rocking fakes. That is disgusting IMO.

TLDR; If you choose to advertise your shoes are fake, then do you. But don’t hate on others that are flexing they’re reps with confidence and no care of others opinions. Repfam is a community. The only enemy is the guys who try to resell these fakes as real.

Example of the toxicity in repfam: https://www.reddit.com/r/Repsneakers/comments/hpnkfh/so_like_who_gon_tell_her/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Midnight Worlds, Part 2- MacGuffinite

Part 1- Overview

In my last post, I gave an overview of the hard sci-fi setting I've been working on. Now, I'd like to talk about this setting's economy, and how it is constructed to justify the premise, but also in a general enough sense that you can apply some ideas to your own world.

Economics is a dry subject, but we really don't need to go deep into theory. The idea here is just to figure out what makes the setting tick- who the major players are, what their goals are, and how they carry out those goals. This narrative backbone means that when you get around to designing spaceships, places, and stories, they fit into a consistent context.

The biggest economic obstacle to space colonization in hard sci-fi is a thing called MacGuffinite, so that's what I'll be tackling today.

MacGuffinite

If you've never heard of a MacGuffin, read this and get up to speed. 'MacGuffinite', on the other hand, refers to the MacGuffin used to justify space colonization in realistic sci-fi. Atomic Rockets has a great page on it.

Basically, the issue is that while it is very expensive to get into space, there isn't any compelling reason to go out there. Space is less like the fertile, libertarian-friendly lands of the American West than it is like the inhospitable desolation of Antarctica or the Sahara Desert, raising the question as to why people would stay there. Yes, exploration is valuable, but we don't want a McMurdo Moonbase of twenty astronauts, we want permanent settlement on a large scale.

If you're writing soft sci-fi, you can probably gloss over this entirely, but if you're writing hard sci-fi (even with a cheat like FTL), a solid justification for why so much money is being invested in space is the core to figuring out how the setting works. It's the thing driving civilization, so it deserves some attention.

In writing the backstory for my setting (see previous post), I created an energy crisis as a result of a disastrous war, and postulated a need for nuclear fuel that the Asteroid Belt could satisfy. That alone is not enough, though. Even with most of the easily-accessible resources on Earth gone, it will still be cheaper to get it locally than to send out spacecraft and crew to procure it. So I a

I watch a horror movie almost every day, here's everything I watched in June

Best:

(2015) Tag 8.5/10

This was, even despite already being a fan of Sion Sono, still the biggest surprise for me this year. It’s like Tokyo Gore Police meets The Matrix, with the latter being referenced pretty directly in the film. This movie is batshit insane in the best way possible. I digested entire first half, despite laying down the subtle foundation for what was to come, as one of the most entertaining popcorn movies. The second half of the film is where it evolves the one of the smarter sci-fi films I’ve seen to date. Sono makes a powerful statement on film media, gender oppression and interestingly enough, he doesn’t leave himself out of the lens of criticism. I loved Tag, I think it holds its weight against Sono’s other top films and is one I’d recommend to anyone who has enjoyed his style.

(2000) The Gift 8.5/10

This film was such a pleasant surprise. You’d think Tarantino put together this cast list with how much amazing star power there is. It’s also such a different role for Keanu. Everyone here is wonderful. If I had to pick a standout though, it would be Giovanni Ribisi. His performance is so raw and emotive. The unstable nature of his character actually held up as the backbone to the mystery portion of this film, making it very much unpredictable. It’s a very well-written film by fucking Billy Bob Thornton of all people along with Tom Epperson but it was absolutely brought to life, elevated really, by Sam Raimi. I fucking love this movie.

(2018) Wildling 8/10

It’s rare that even after reading a film’s description, that I truly have no idea how it will play out but this one was completely unpredictable throughout most of it. Bel Powley and Liv Tyler both play very complimentary fantastic roles. There’s an extended portion of the film that’s almost uplifting and pleasantly strange, following their relationship with each other. I’m happy to say things turn sinister quickly and the last 30-minutes are a wild ride, to say the least. That portion is maybe where viewers become divisive but it was right up my alley. I highly recommend this one, it’s extremely well-produced and the pacing is exceptional.

(1980) City of the Living Dead 8/10

This trilogy is one that started off rocky for me, as I felt The Beyond was just too incoherent and disjointed. However, a tiny bit of what I loved about that movie is what made me love The House by the Cemetery and now, City of the Living Dead. It’s ultra-gory, t

If Nintendo's eSport push means they start hosting big competitive events using Splatoon's (small yet stable, growing and huge in Japan), Smash's (huge), and Pokemon's (huge) competitive scenes as the backbone how likely do you think it would be to see Rocket League there?

I've been theorizing for a while that Nintendo might be seeing dollar signs from the eSports side of things; do you think if they follow through on that (as a huge Pokken fan I hope they do - I've been first on Ireland's scoreboard at points and want to see it dragged up by association) then do you think that they will include Rocket League at such events despite it being multiplatform?

MOIRA GUIDE (0 - 4000 SR)

Apologies for the Repost: Apparently when I attempted to change the flair, approximately HALF the post got deleted by Reddit (I assume due to a CAP limit on words in a guide, hence apologies in advance for that)

DISCLAIMER: (If you want to get straight into the guide, *SKIP INTO PARAGRAPH 7*, otherwise, here's some background information about who I am/Why you should care, and I'll be debunking the *BIGGEST MYTH* of Moira/Brig Players [IE They Don't Require SKILL]. I've also (hopefully) timed this well enough so that on my cake day, this can get a bit bigger boost from fellow redditors due to the meme of 'cake day gib ubvote'

DISCLAIMER 2: If you prefer things in video format over text: Here's a link to basically everything in BELOW which I go through in about 10 Minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9WNFwpzKuQ

Hi, I'm "Major Midge," and I am a low GM Flex Support Player from the UK. I've coached players on Fiverr from varying different SR ranges and they have all seen highly positive responses. This leads me to the myth I was referencing of the characters 'Moira,' and 'Brig,' requiring no skill, which I hope isn't most of this subreddit. If you don't believe the above, feel free to move on to sed paragraph, but if you do, here's some information and logic for you:

 1. If Moira/Brig are skilless characters then why aren't all Moira/Brig Mains in atleast 3500?
 2. If Brig doesn't require skill, why would Jayne (Dallas Fuel Assistant Coach) in a given hypothetical scenario (Where he had to replace a single player from a team of Professional OWL grade players with a normal GM Player) still replace Zarya over Brig? (In the context of GOATS)
 3. If Moira doesn't require skill how come I managed to coach a 3100 Moira Player to 3850 with a few VOD Reviews?

With that out the way, let's get onto the guide!

 1. Moira is armed with a beam dealing 50 DPS in 20 Meter Range (Also dealing 20 HPS To self) in converse affect with a spray dealing 65 HPS in a 15 Meter Range (Also dealing 65 Healing over 4 Seconds when stopping the spray - This does NOT stack with the standard 65HPS). The beam also regenerates the spray at a ROUGH rate of 1.0 Second per Beam = 1.15 Second per spray (Combined with passive regen)
 • This, for players below 3000, is the FIRST thing a Moira Player NEEDS To Master
 • As in these low ranks, positioning is close to non-existent, using your beam on enemies pushing past shield, overextending, o

Introducing Abhorash

Thematically his dlc would pit him against one of khornes best

I know a lot of people would prefer to see him as a legendary hero, somewhat akin to the Green knight (and that would be a perfectly valid implementation) but personally I had a lot of fun baking his lone wolf, elite martial code ethos into a faction. Besides, I want to see what a beast he can become, fully levelled, decked out in the best gear and wielding the sword of khaine and a green knight hero scenario just isn't going to cut it. It would also be odd to have all the other bloodline progenitors playable (presumably) and then just have Abhorash serve them. Some of you may remember me from my Ulrika and Neferata concepts that were pretty popular. So here's my concept for Abhorash.

In a world where Archeon is bringing about the end times, Nagash, consuming gods, is looming on the horizon and the vortex is in flux, Abhorash realises that the world is going to need him, and like any man, can be in only one place at a time. Looking for a base of operations to settle, he sets out to rally the greatest blood dragons to his side. Let's break down Abhorash himself first, then move on to his faction mechanics. Numbers are mostly just place holders for what ever would actually be balanced, so don't get too bogged down in the details.

His combat traits: Dragon Slayer (one use per battle, instantly sync kill a dragon or lord on a dragon that's below 50% health. Duellist, Deflect shots, Doge, Perfect Vigour, Fear, Terror, Unbreakable, Dreaded Duellist (ability), Feint and Riposte (ability), The Hunger, Honor or Death, Heart Piercing, To the death, Just warming up (New ability, 30 seconds of fighting per tier, Tier 1, +20 MD, Tier 2 +20 MD and MA, Tier 3 +20 MD and MA and 30% armour piercing damage). "There can only be one!" (new ability: If Abhorash kills a lord or hero, feed and heal 30% health over 5 seconds).

Lord Effects

The Elemental Plane of Water: Coral Reefs

Background

“The reefs are some of the most beautiful parts of the plane, if you ask me. Clear water up above. Vibrant colour around you. Solid ground below you. Can’t ask for much better. Does still leave you a bit exposed, of course, but I’d take it over open water any day…”

While reefs in the material plane typically form on the edge of landmasses, the reefs on the plane of water rarely have large bodies of land on the surface to support them. Instead, they form as wide open fields of coral on areas of sea-floor that are nearer to the surface. They are one of the regions of the plane that are most closely linked to the material, and it is not uncommon for ships or explorers to slip between the planes in these areas, finding themselves in the other plane’s reflection of the place.

Features

The coral reefs of the plane of water are some of the most varied locations in the endless ocean. Their most common binding element is, of course, the coral, which comes in a wide array of shapes and colours more vivid than any that can be found on the material plane. They also almost universally serve as a hub of activity for sea life. They are often also in relatively shallow water - a reflection of their material plane counterparts - allowing for some trade with those that live on the plane’s surface. Beyond that though, the reefs can differ greatly, ranging anywhere from flat to hilly, with some having deep ravines that run down as far as the Darkened Depths.

The combination of rich life and open space makes the reefs some of the most viable locations to settle large towns and cities. Such settlements attract most all of the sentient races of the plane, including but not limited to: Sea Elves, Tritons, Genasi, Storm Giants, Marids and even in some cases the occasional Sahuagin that has splintered from their family group. These cities can often become major trade hubs in the plane, thanks to their accessibility from above. This same accessibility does leave them vulnerable, however, meaning that they are usually well defended - a blessing for those that just want somewhere safe to settle, and a nightmare for the more underhanded members of the population.

These cities also serve an incredibly important role in the plane - the gathering and working of coral. Since the plane largely lacks its own natural supplies of metals and since the working of metal is far harder than usual below the surface, it relies on extraplanar trade to provide metal tools and equi

Welcome Aboard the Harriet Lane, Day Six: Vicksburg & the war on the Mississippi

The Strategic Situation: Northern Summer

In June of 1862, there was a lot of legitimate optimism that the war of the rebellion would be over by the end of summer. This was a totally justified belief, too. The Confederacy was reeling from a series of bodyblows, and the light at the end of the tunnel could definitely be seen.

 • In Virginia, McClellan’s army of the Potomac, the largest, best-trained, and best-equipped fighting force in the history of the Western Hemisphere, had cleverly bypassed Confederate defenses in Northern Virginia by landing on the York & James Peninsula, and was now a bare 5 miles outside of Richmond. The city could safely be expected to fall within days.
 • In Carolina, Union troops under Ambrose Burnside had landed and seized most of the coast within a day’s march of the sea. Burnside’s men roamed more or less at will, and the only Confederate ports still open were large, well-fortified cities like Charleston and Wilmington.
 • In Tennessee, Albert Sidney Johnston’s attempted bushwhacking of Grant at Pittsburg Landing had led to little more than the death of Johnston and many of his men, and the effort had involved damned near every Confederate soldier west of the Appalachians. Now Grant was safely ensconced in northern Mississippi, Memphis and Nashville had fallen, and Don Carlos Buell’s Army of the Cumberland was knocking on the gates of Chattanooga, the only railway junction between the eastern and western halves of the Confederacy. When the city fell, as it surely must, within the next week or two, Buell would be in good position to march on to Atlanta.
 • In the West, the handful of Confederate troops remaining after Johnston scooped most of them up had been beaten out of northern Arkansas at Pea Ridge, and Union troops were now occupying most of that state. A Confederate invasion of New Mexico had been shattered at Glorieta Pass and now the haggard remnants of Sibley’s expedition were straggling back into Texas.
 • And in the Deep South, New Orleans, the largest city in the rebellious states, had been captured, and the entire Mississippi lay open to Union forces. Farragut had only to drive north and join hands with naval forces coming down from Memphis and the entire river would be under Federal control.

To sum up, then, every major Confederate city had either fallen or was under threat, the rebels were losing territory on every front from the Atlantic coast to Tennessee to the far West, and they were in danger of being

What are the four corners of civilization?

I know the Four Corners of Civilization is the land where KKC takes place. But could it have another meaning?

In NotW 59, we get this quote:

> The University and Imre are the hearts of understanding and art, the strongest of the four corners of civilization

This makes it sound like "understanding" (e.g. knowledge) and "art" are two of four principles that are the backbone of civilization. So there could be two more.

For example, maybe the other two are "government" and "family" - just spitballing here. What do you think? Or am I just misreading this passage?

EDIT: Guys I'm confused. Some are saying they are the same backbones. Will I not get 'more' retention outside of simply a few more days? Meaning will there literally be more content?

Line By Line - Mad Woman

The second song I've "dissected" - originally posted on my tumblr here

Mad Woman

>What did you think I’d say to that?

Scott selling her masters to Scooter springs to mind immediately. What did he expect? That she’d say “thank you” and bow out? Especially if what she says is true - the only time his name passed her lips was in tears.

>Does a scorpion sting when fighting back? They strike to kill, and you know I will

Scott should’ve know better - she’s said this over and over, but she doesn’t sit down “like a good girl”. She’s also said that she wants to be like a snake - “Grow a backbone, trust your gut, and know when to strike back. Be like a snake — only bite if someone steps on you.”

>What do you sing on your drive home?

Probably her music because she’s catchy and incredible, and he’s been known to say he loves her music (considering his profession, that’s a no brainer)

>Do you see my face in the neighbor’s lawn?

She’s everywhere, she’s artist of the decade! It’s not uncommon for people who have a guilty conscience to see their victims everywhere…

>Does she smile? Or does she mouth, “Fuck you forever”?

In my head, she’s said this to SB, but basically the question is what version of Taylor does SB see? The All American Sweetheart who smiles, or the true Taylor who hates him now?

>Every time you call me crazy, I get more crazy, what about that?

Probably told her she was crazy and over reacting and all that bullshit. As she once famously said - A man does something, it’s strategic. A woman does the same thing, it’s calculated. A man is allowed to react. A woman can only overreact.

>And when you say I seem angry, I get more angry

Because women being placated and told to be quiet has gone on long enough. Being told to “calm down” will never make us calm down. Saying we seem angry will only make us angry. Telling us we’re crazy will only make us “more crazy”. It’s time we stop belittling and shaming women’s experiences and emotions.

>And there’s nothing like a mad woman, what a shame she went mad.
No one likes a mad woman, you made her like that.
And you’ll poke that bear ‘til her claws come out

They pushed her into a corner - she tried to buy her masters, they refused, and they poked her until she had no choice but to

Midrange Revival: Abzan Eldrazi

https://archidekt.com/decks/698974#Abzan_Eldrazi

Randomly went scrolling through Mono-B Eldrazi lists and noticed a fair number run [[Caves of Koilos]] and [[Llanowar Wastes]] but don't take advantage of the extra colours. [[Field of Ruin]] provides excellent mana correction, since even mono colour decks will run [[Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx]] or random utility lands, but that still means just having a light touch on the other colours to provide consistency within the Mono-B shell.

This version also goes just a touch lighter on the discard than most lists, but I felt 11 discard spells makes you more than capable of preying on combo/control decks, and effectively allows you to slow the game down enough to let [[Mastermind's Acquisition]] be a fantastic draw at almost any point in the game. This lets you fetch win conditions from the side that let you go a little bit bigger in the mirror or similar match-ups, especially [[Liliana, Dreadhorde Champion]].

I wasn't sold on [[Mazemind's Tome]] but this is essentially the backbone of the deck, letting you scry away bad/dead draws, draw extra cards if you're ahead to seal the game, and even give that extra little bit of life gain to keep us from killing ourselves with our painful spells/lands. Sitting on 7 cards after shredding an Inverter deck's hand feels damn good.

[[Eldrazi Displacer]] with [[Wasteland Strangler]] and [[Thought-Knot Seer]] feels sweeeeeet. Displacer also is a fantastic mirror breaker. [[Cry of the Carnarium]] also works SO well against aggro with Strangler, meaning that basically any matchup feels completely winnable. White also lets us run [[Anguished Unmaking]] against [[Wilderness Reclamation]] decks.

Anyways, let me know your thoughts and if you have any suggestions! So far this deck has performed very well for me after jamming it together yesterday, coming through with a record of 5-1 in ranked matches on Xmage. Definitely going to continue with the testing though since that's a tiny sample size and a couple of matches weren't against meta decks.

[Discussion] Governor Newsom's 07/24 COVID-19 Press Conference

This discussion thread series is meant to spur discussion and problem solving within the community in regards to the novel COVID-19 outbreak. Below is my live transcript of Governor Newsom's COVID-19 briefing.

Please contribute with your personal examples, anecdotes, or stories! Let's all strive to work together to make our communities safe & healthy!

12:02 pm start, 12:58 pm end

Major talking points he made:

General

Certain populations disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Multi-generational households are particularly vulnerable. Challenges in congregate facilities (homeless shelters, skilled nursing, correction institutions, etc.).

Reinforcement of the importance on personal responsibility to wear face masks, physically distance, and practice good hand hygiene. It's very easy to forget that our intentions may be 100% to stop spread; however, our careless moments may reduce our actual complaint behavior to 90%. When you go to the breakroom and briefly take your mask off and forget to put it back on, it may expose you or your co-workers to the virus.

Stopping the spread of COVID-19 depends on our ability to keep our essential workers safe.

Not enough emphasis placed on essential workers in state. Newsom proceeds to show a slide of the race/ethnicity breakdown of frontline essential workers. Overwhelming majority of our essential sectors are made up of Latino, Asian, and Black populations. Particularly farm, construction, cook, and food preparation workers are from Latino populations. This essential workforce remains the backbone for providing fundamental services in CA.

New worker safeguards: preventative measures, employer education, and long lasting worker protections.

Preventative Measures: Ensure workers can isolate and quarantine when sick or exposed. Provide safe, temporary housing for COVID positive and exposed agriculture and farmworkers. Administration looking at Project Roomkey and extending its model to workers who need to isolate or quarantine in motels/hotels. 626k cropworkers live and work year-round in CA. Housing and farmwork partnerships in place in Monterey to house and support agricultural workers to isolate and quarantine when exposed/sick. Build on PSAs to reach employers, workers, and families to educate about guidelines and worker's/citizen's rights. When we re-opene

[Modevent] The Saudi Arabian Civil War

2023

##The Buildup

Fiddling While Riyadh Burns

The warning signs were all there. Protests wracked most every city in the country. Car bombs, shootings, and other attacks were becoming almost daily occurrences. ARAMCO officials screamed about falling profits and the resulting sell-off of state-owned assets. You had to be deaf, blind, and stupid to miss the upheaval in Saudi society.

Or, maybe, just as narcissistic as Mohammad bin Salman. In the face of unprecedented conservative resistance to his equally unprecedented program of social reforms and disastrous foreign policy, the Crown Prince doubled down. To the protesters screaming for the removal of American troops from the country--an issue that found support in most corners of the Arab world, he offered only an expansion of American influence in the country, as American special forces launched counter-insurgency operations within the country. To the clerics decrying the rapid secularization of Saudi society and the opening of new heretical houses of worship throughout the country, he offered only new churches and a declaration that the fallen Shi’a of the Hawza in Dammam were martyrs. To the officials of ARAMCO begging for the discounts to be ended, he offered only promises that the discounts would, somehow, fix the crisis (nevermind the fact that the discounts had started the crisis in the first place), all the while laying off foreign workers, who made up most of the company’s labor force. To the members of the House of Saud who called for the release of their kin and the end of the Crown Prince’s “insane” anti-corruption crackdown, he cut their oil stipend entirely. It seemed that there was no constituency that the Crown Prince did not alienate further in his handling of the crisis.

To hear the state-controlled media (the only media in the country, really) tell it, everything in the Kingdom was great. Al Arabiya was filled day-in and day-out with footag

Humans Don't Give a Fuck

If you want to know what inspired this story, it was /u/murder_sickle and their comment responding to /u/mechakid about how someone could take the concept of “honey badger” and run with it…

To murder_sickle… I hope you’re happy with what your comments have wrought. Thanks for the inspiration!

To the rest of you reading this. I’m going to be working on two stories in two of the previous universes that I’ve written for next. They’re both war stories so I’ve been listening to Sabaton to get myself in the mood.

Edit: Thanks for the gold kind stranger! Edit2: Fixing minor errors.

When we first made contact with humanity we were surprised. After all it’s not every day that an interplanetary government screws up so badly that they’d managed to miss an ENTIRE NEW SENTIENT SPECIES IN OUR OWN DAMN TERRITORY. Now, it may have been a rather unimportant, undeveloped expanse of our territory, but with the amount of radio signals the humans were flinging into the void with reckless abandon left our leaders with no excuse.

The answers to that question could wait, but the humans could not. They had already deciphered our language and were attempting to hail a colony world of ours that they had apparently been observing for about one of their years already. At least the Galactic Bureaucracy already had protocol for this sort of thing (although it was usually reserved for a primitive species finally discovering FTL) and a 100 light-year sphere around their cradle-world was set aside for them. Too bad that roughly thirty percent of that was Karkan space, but we’ll get to that later.

Once our diplomats made contact with this new species, we were even more surprised at their appearance and mannerisms. You see, Earth happened to be on the very upper limit of the gravitational spectrum that had been theorized for planets able to develop spacefaring life. Indeed, if their gravity were any higher then it would have been impossible for their early spaceflight attempts to reach orbit and they would have likely given up like we’d seen several other species do (unless they were uplifted but it was rare that any race would take on the responsibility of uplifting such a species).

Allow me to further explain for those of you whom have not had the pleasure of meeting with a human. Most high-gravity sapient species are about half the size of humans at their largest and

New Soul Halls - where to start

So first things first:

> The new halls just got released today. We have been discussing actively pretty much the whole day what impact those halls have and how to transition from current comps to them. However, no Sage hall has been opened up yet since no Sage unit is available, hence it's very early to give a definite guide.

This guide is just a starting point for people who are completely lost.

tl;dr

What changed? The old soul hall system was simple and flat: 4 soul halls, and every hall had perks for 2 / 4 / 6 unit traits, and the latter two unlocked at lvl 3 soul halls. You needed jades and gold to upgrade the units.

With the patch you've been compensated 100% of the jades and gold you've invested into statues, in fact, if you bought statues during banners you even got more jades back. The currency used to upgrade the statues now is a new currency called crystals which you get from a new Soul Society daily quest (last quest).

The new soul hall system has 3 halls:

 • Soul Halls. The old simple halls. You need to deploy only 2 units from a hall to activate this trait. It also unlocks another perk at lvl 5.
 • Sage Halls. A new system that requires you to play certain units in a certain formation. That is: Sage Hall buff 1 is Damage Reduction for ALL Sage Halls. Sage Hall Buff 2 is the old 4 unit trait.
 • Sage Hall Buff 1 requires 1 - 1 -1 - 1 units, e.g. 1 unit from all, where 1 of those units is a special unit, which we will refer to as the Sage Unit.
 • Sage Hall Buff 2 requires 3 - 1 -1 - 1 units.
 • And the 3rd halls are still locked, called Genesis Halls. Genesis Hall effects have been leaked already, though.

Not gonna lie, this system actually looks juicy and opens so many more comps. It also allows you to play your favourite units without screwing up your comp. However, if you have invested into 6 unit traits, you are pretty much screwed. Sage Hall buff 1 is 40% damage reduction which means you really don't wanna miss out on that one. You may skip that if you stick to 6 Azure since 6 Azure don't need anything, but then again other comps with a Sage buff *might* (doubt, but he, its untested) survive you.

Oh and a good point, too: Soul Halls, Sage Halls and Genesis halls share XPs and levels, this means leveling up the same faction halls profits ALL halls of that faction.

The update gave everyone 40k some of those crystals for free. That's enough (according to someone from Discord, forgot his name, rip) for lvl 53 across all hal

AITA for being upset & suspicious as to why my ex’s girlfriend is spending a ton of money on my daughters?

Brace for a long story. Im currently getting divorced. We have 2 daughters - 14 & 7. We separated because he said he had simply fallen out of love with me. A few days after we separate I find out he had been having an affair with a friend of ours for months. I will call her E, she & her husband were our close friends. Our kids go to school together. After I found out about the affair he only saw his daughters maybe 2 days every 3 weeks, rarely called to talk to them but when he would call, he would talk the longest to my youngest & shortest to my oldest. My oldest found out he cheated from Es own kid. After my oldest told my ex she knew he cheated...he backed away from her more. I made it clear to my ex I didnt want my girls to be anywhere near E when they were with him, but not long after I started a new relationship & since he is around the girls, I didnt want to be a hypocrite & not allow my ex to do the same. Now, all of a sudden he wants to spend more time with them but Im trying to just be happy he wants his daughters (since he didnt until he could have them around E). Once I said he could have E around the girls, she is buying expensive gifts every time they go with their dad, shopping sprees, & now hair/nail appts. The 1 on 1 activities like highlights & nails are only for my oldest apparently & I told my ex I felt a little disrespected since those are the 2 things I splurge on for my oldest when I can afford to & he knows it. I try to tell myself that E is benefitting me financially by buying all that stuff & I need to be grateful my ex’s girlfriend likes my girls when it couldve easily gone the other way. I try so hard to see everything in a positive light so I dont carry negative energy but my positive attitude is crumbling. I finally text her to clear the air (I was extremely polite, almost to the point where I questioned where my backbone went) & open a line of communication in hopes she would possibly show a little respect by seeing if its okay to do stuff with my girls that I normally do with them as their mom. I received a snide text about how my daughters are now HER daughters in her eyes as well as telling me I cant be mad at her for what happened between her & my ex because “your marriage had been over for years”. I couldnt believe I had been so nice & respectful to her. I was furious with myself on top of the anger I felt towards her. I didnt reply because I had to get my anger/fury un

A Critique on the Hokkaido Arc

Hello Everybody! I just discover this fabulous community and I'm really excited to share my love for RK with all of you.

First of all, I want to say that this is not a hate post on Hokkaido Arc, that could never be. In fact, when I saw there was new RK material I went back to the exited girl I was when I first was introduced to the series. However, I just finished my annual re-reading of the manga, so I decided to read the Hokkaido Arc (so far) right after. I couldn't help but notice that some things are a bit off, especially compared to the original material. Let's dive in!

 1. Character design:

I'm aware that this new material is looking for a new audience, but this is a well-beloved series that has a strong fan-base and it feels like Watsuki and the team behind it were too afraid to change their known characters (or keep the changes that they already established in cannon material).

Obviously we have Kenshin, two goes from short hair, tiny scar to long hair, huge scar in a matter of 6 months? Really? What shampoo is he even using? Seriously there are even scenes in the Hokkaido Arc where he even looks younger than in the original manga.

Yes, he is your main character, and you need his well know image to keep selling toys and accessories, but you are disregarding all the growth and the meaning behind that image. The same treatment goes to Sano, your other iconic character, the long haired+beard Sanosuke, is quickly discarded and goes back to the original Sanosuke style. Don't get me started with the Juppongatana who look EXACTLY the same, not a day has gone by since the Kyoto encounter apparently.

The funny thing is that this is not the same for all characters, Kaoru's design has evolved and even Saito's character looks aged, is a subtle change, but it's there.

 1. Character Development and plot: (Spolier warning here)

One of the best things about RK is their storytelling. We get to see the way that the characters develop, their struggles, this challenges, those are things we all can relate and the story allows them to grow. The storyline is compelling and cap

A year later and my anger just set in about my ex with BPD

First off I have to say that this thread is really helping me cope with what I learned about my past ex who definitely had BPD, but wasn’t diagnosed. Reading through the DSM-V she literally met all the criteria spot on.

I learned this about a week ago and the first thing I felt was somewhat of a shock. Everything in my past relationship was fake, all those times she made me (a grown man) cry and weep, begging for forgiveness were all a goddamn lie. All those times I was asking legitimate questions regarding her infidelity with other men, was instead, me being an over controlling asshole and I would have to suffer the next day and a half all because I just wanted some decency and respect for myself. Not only that but then I WOULD BEG HER to forgive me for even having the decency to stand up for myself.

After the relationship ended I was traumatized cause it ended so abruptly over a phone call, I just couldn’t take her bs and mood swings anymore, cussed her out over the phone and just like that, it was forever done for. It amazed me how quickly she moved on and almost how she is now 180 of who she used to be with me (really shows me how good these psychopaths are at mirroring). The first few months were rough but I got over it and learned to just focus on myself hiding and pushing back all of that trauma. I’ve even met a new girlfriend of 2 months about now and she is an angel compared to that satan spawn who I can’t believe has the right to identify as a human.

I can’t help but even catch myself currently still falling into ptsd about the severe anxiety of arguing in a relationship and realizing arguments don’t have to involve rage or astronomical levels of anger, and that they can be civil. Or even just simply even standing up for myself hoping I don’t break down into a complete mess cause my backbone disappeared in my last relationship. For the record, my new girl doesn’t even remotely have these traits and is baffled that my ex was even capable of these things.

So my reasoning for this post comes down to me really finding out and understanding what BPD was, I mean we all hear about it, but until you actually read and process the symptoms and especially if you’ve been with someone who’s had it you finally know what the hell this thing is. It’s a manifestation of evil and misery that traps everyone involved around the person with BPD. And if I’m being honest, the thing that makes me sleep at night is KNOWING (that’s how confident I am, I know) her e

Update: My (38/F) ex-fiance ghosted me (39/M) before our wedding. It's been 16 years and now she wants to talk it over again. Should we reopen closed wounds?

previous

Well, that was something. I got closure at least.

We met at a cafe and sat and talked outside. The first thing I noticed was how badly scarred her arms were and how much pain was in her face. Long story short she wanted to break up long before the wedding, she was too weak and cowardly to speak up for herself. She had a complete nervous breakdown over everything. She had been tired of being forced into doing things she never wanted to do and never having the guts to stand up for herself. She was mad at her family pressuring her to get married and pump out kids, she was mad at them forcing her into a degree that she didn't want, she was mad herself for not being able to speak up. Nothing she did was justified which we agreed on.

When I first proposed to her I did it in a public area. I had put her on the spot and she wanted to say no but, she couldn't bare to see me hurt. She was right. I made all the choices for her. I was a very different person back then and she was very "meek" as in she just went with the flow and had no backbone. I drowned her voice out often and often never gave her the chance to grow to be a person. Back then I was often focused only on myself.

Well, everything came to a climax and she had a complete mental breakdown. She ran way from her problems at the beheast of her best Friend and only person in the world she ever trusted. As she said it's the only thing she knows how to do: run. She never had the spine to speak up.

Her life just spiraled downwards. She did a few years homeless after her bestfriends husband kicked her to the curb. The rest of that time was spent in Prison, which she didn't specify what she did. She was released about a year ago and has been turning her life around. She has a job, she's reconnected with her parents and she's finally reconnecting with me. She never stopped trying to get in touch with me.

As for our future. We have none. We both agreed to end things and go our separate ways. We both are changed, two different people. We have nothing in common and don't live near each other. She doesn't justify what she did nor does she want to be forgiven. She thinks its repulsive and is ashamed of her actions. I wanted to be angry but, i couldn't. I just forgave her. With that we shook hands said our goodbyes and that will likely be the last time we ever see one another.

It's b

The Norwegian

The sun shined over the tropical skies of the capital of Arruts. It was located near the equator, along the thin band of habitation, only extending about 30 degrees north and south, for the Arreans were very sensitive to temperature. Most of the rest of the planet was untouched wilderness which made it a popular nature destination for more hardy species in the galactic community.

The sun's rays glimmered across the shining surface of the Suisei H-9 suborbital airliner as it taxied towards the start of the runway. It was a sleek dart with delta wings near the rear. The front half was dotted with windows with the rear half taken up by the fuel tanks and the humps of the two huge engines that flanked it inside the blended contours of the fuselage.

The craft rolled silently along on the electric motors mounted in the landing gear. The ramjets would not be lit until it was time to take off to conserve every possible drop of fuel. True spaceships that spent all their lives in the void between planets and stars could mount fusion thrusters and were thus spared some of the tyranny of the rocket equation. But the energies they wielded were far too dangerous to be used planetbound near civilization. Lord knows the Terrans had tried, and even they had eventually concluded that it was too insane an idea after Mojave City had turned into an irradiated wasteland in an unfortunate accident.

After clearing the final taxiway the craft gracefully turned its nose towards the other end of the runway and came to a stop. The final checklists had been completed. The plane poised ready to leap into the air. A silent permission came over the radio waves and with a thunderous roar the great jets sprung to life.

A compressor in the belly of the plane hungrily gulped air and forced it into the engines to keep the combustion going in the absence of airflow. A jet of pure blue flame shot out from the exhausts and the craft jolted into motion. Each meter per second it gained increased the ram pressure in the engine intakes, increasing the power and efficiency of the combustion. Within seconds its nose lifted skyward.

The last sound before silence fell over the spaceport was the crack of mach thunder as the craft disappeared ever accelerating into the sky, heading towards Anzin on the other side of the planet.

Nose high in the air the craft passed through mach 2 and the compressor in the belly stopped, its job now fully taken over by the sheer speed of the craft itself as it pushed

Interbred species should have combined portraits coming from the parent species

I think this should've been added when they added the interbred species. I know it means that Paradox has to add a ton of portraits, but they can at least do it progressively (As in, they add like 5 interbred species portraits per major update/DLC release). I'm not saying it is an essential thing for Stellaris, it just feels like a nice feature because what we have currently is two species for each interbreed, coming from both parent species and inheriting the names. Another suggestion that could come with this would be to add a sort of species tree for species within your empire, which would represent interbred species much better than our current species tab. Again, I am not saying Stellaris needs this since everyone just goes for gestalt consciousness or militarist xenophobe anyways, It's just my opinion since interbreed species are my backbone species ingame.

"Want You Gone" song meaning - who's GLaDOS talking to?

Spoilers, obviously, though I can't imagine somebody's perusing the subreddit for a game that came out almost a decade ago but hasn't played it yet.

Anyways, the end credits song, "Want You Gone", is sung by GLaDOS after we defeat Wheatley and return GLaDOS to her place in control of the vast Aperture Science Laboratories. I have a few questions about its lyrics. Feel free to skip to the bottom. Otherwise, for those who haven't played the game in a while, a quick refresher:

Quick backstory refresher:

We've learned along the way that the owner, Cave Johnson, is a powerful and (at first) vastly affluent man who stubbornly refuses to listen to those around him or value the lives around him in any meaningful way. We also learn that he had a personal relationship with Caroline (we see the portrait of them together, she's included on several of his broadcasts as he lauds her as "a gem", and at one point he "jokingly" insists that she's spoken for:

>"She's the backbone of this facility. Pretty as a postcard, too. Sorry, fellas. She's married. To science."

All a way to allude to the fact that Caroline:

 1. Is seen in a romantic light by Cave Johnson
 2. Is considered off-limits for others to pursue by Cave Johnson
 3. is foreshadowed to be the genetic component that became GLaDOS

We're later shown that Caroline was taken against her will and basically mind-raped and forced to be uploaded into the AI that became GLaDOS, as Cave Johnson says:

>"Brain Mapping. Artificial Intelligence. We should have been working on it thirty years ago. I will say this - and I'm gonna say it on tape so everybody hears it a hundred times a day: If I die before you people can pour me into a computer, I want Caroline to run this place. Now she'll argue. She'll say she can't. She's modest like that. But you make her. Hell, put her in my computer. I don't care."

GLaDOS claims at the end of the game that she's deleted Caroline from herself, though she's been well-established to be an unreliable narrator throughout the series.

It's also strongly implied that Chel is Cave and Caroline's daughter, hence the noticeable change in heart GLaDOS experiences in regards to Chel once she rediscovers that she used to be Caroline. Anyways, on to...

What's the song's meaning?

Full lyrics, emphasis mine:

Almost Every Strange South Perfume Known To Man (an ungodly number of reviews) *PART 1*

HOLY COW, alright, so I’ll freely admit I love the shit out of this brand. So much so that I’ve been gradually collecting every scent they’ve put out into the world. I’ve wanted to make a massive review post for EVERY STRANGE SOUTH PERFUME EVER for like a year, and for a while I did have every perfume in their catalogue, but let myself get held up in waiting for new releases and long-ass TAT. That, combined with a tumultuous 2020, means this monster list is still missing a number of things - everything new from this year, to be specific. But with the big sale going on I figured it was time to compile my notes and unleash this beast for anyone looking for reviews.

Annoyingly, they won't all fit into one convenient post, so this will be split into two parts. This part ends at the letter H! The scents are listed alphabetically (not counting instances of the word "the" at the start of a scent name). Just ctrl+F for what you’re looking for :) And yes, I know how bad it looks to start off where it does, but that’s alphabetical for ya! Final note: I don’t yet have a solid grasp on which carrier oil performs better between fractionated coconut or meadowfoam seed, or how subjective that is. That's a future experiment that remains to be seen.

_____

3 Witches in a Fir Tree

Oleander accord, muddy leather boots, pokeberry-stained ivy rope, and fir needles.

>Aaugh, this is reading as mildew. Getting mild berry and elements of the other notes but altogether this smells like a wet, mildewy coat. Eventually the pokeberry starts to remind me of certain berry-scented soaps but the mildew never goes away. Hurk.

_____

300 Years

Candle wax shrouded in dust, chilled earth, and brittle black fur.

>Super smokey, less woodsmoke-y than Devil At The Crossroads but still pretty heavy. Candle wax does balance this out a bit and soon enough the candle note overtakes the grill. There is a dustiness to this, and overall it does smell old. Not sure about that “brittle black fur,” though…

_____

A Skull Where Her Face Had Been

Old letters, moths nesting in a fur coat, lettuce, brandy, and bitter wind.

>Papery, astringent, bitter, a hint of booze. Potent! Smells like paper heavily perfumed with bitter high end florals. Intrigued by “lettuce” as a note, especially because lettuce smells like almost nothing to me. Certainly getting no definitive lettuce here, but I can easily imagine it’s that note giving this a somewhat water

"Does the Thalmor really want to unmake the world?" — On the pervasiveness of world-ending and Daedric cults in Altmeri culture: their characterization in primary and secondary sources and on-going influences over the depiction of elven factions

As foretold, this post is an amicable answer to /u/NientedeNada's great Why the Altmeri Commentary on Talos is Important to Lore Discussion (Even if It Isn't the Thalmor's End Goal), if you haven't read it, you're highly encouraged do so before continuing here, but this won't hinder your understanding of this post if you decide not to.

I must also add that I wish I could have compilled this sooner (less than a week after Niente's post), but exams and other personal obligations (and not being in the mood for going back to writing it, aswell as it becoming far longer than I anticipated and being far more interested in binge-watching certain shows) prevented that from happening.

I would like to start by saying that the idea Niente proposed, that Ancano might be 'actually a fanatic who's out of step with the Thalmor in general', seems to be backed up by the in-game data that puts him not in the Thalmor faction proper, but in the Thalmor Splinter Faction. So that's one clue we can add to the pile of ideas surrounding the concept of world-ending cults in Altmeri culture she already presented.

Back onto the main subject: ESO did give us a few world-ending Altmeri factions, the most notable one being the Court of Bedlam:

> "I am an earl in the Court of Bedlam now, chosen personally by Mephala to represent her on this all-too-fragile world." > > *** > > > Nocturnal betrayed your Prince when she killed the Ritemaster and took the Heart for herself. > > "What are you talking about? Nocturnal, Mephala, and Clavicus Vile are partners in this. That's why our three sects formed the Court of Bedlam. Three Daedric Princes working together to make the world a better place." > > *** > > > First, tell me the triad's original plan. > > "Do we really need to go over this again? Mephala and the triad sought places of power—the Clockwork City, the Crystal Tower—anything they could use to change the rules of reality and remake the world.
> They wanted to make things better!" > > *** > > > What did you hope to accomplish with the Court of Bedlam? > > "The Court offered me a purpose after my life lost its meaning. **Our Princes promised to remake the world, turn it into a bette

Planning to ask her for separation/divorce tomorrow. I've been struggling with approaching this for ages but have never been able to fully go through with it. I've brought it up before & she will say certain things to convince me and I'll end up backing down like "ok lets keep trying" it never ends

1 year DB.

I'm not going to lie she definitely wears the pants in the relationship. She lays down how things are going to be and any disagreement on my part is just shot down with critical blows. We just CANNOT communicate. Everything she says just pushes me to the edge. Her tone and body language just push me away like 2 identical magnets.

I'm annoyed at myself that I've let it get this bad in the first place and I'm kind of amazed at how much shit I've endured. Where in the HELL has my self respect been for 8 years??

I'm just so tired of being a doormat. I'm tired of being treated like a 2nd class citizen in my own house. Even standing up for myself or calling her out for when shes acting shitty just ends with her being defensive/offensive and somehow me in the wrong. I just can't live this way anymore. I need to grow and get my confidence and self esteem back and I'm pretty sure I need to do it alone. i.e. as a single parent, ultimately I want shared parenthood 50/50 for our 1.5 year old son if I can.

I need to tell her that I don't think couples counselling will work. We are incompatible in nearly every way, sexually, emotionally, culturally, what we want out of life is different and I just can not visualise how it will work. Our son deserves parents who are happy.. or at least a daddy who is happy, which I have some way of hopefully controlling (but I can't speak for his mothers happiness).

I hope I don't weasel out and have grown the balls and backbone to actually tell her we are separating tomorrow evening after our son goes to bed and that we can amicably draw our relationship to a close.

I just get a headache from thinking things over so much and I've been back and forth from deciding to postpone it or do it right now for what feels like 100 times in the last few days/weeks/years.

Some factors that are complicating the current situation and keep me yo-yo ing and thinking I should hold out a bit more:

 • I'm currently unemployed and looking for a job. I can't move out so we still need to live in the same environment after separating. We have a sofabed in the living room so it's doable but obviously only 1 kitchen for preparing meals etc. We will be around each other and our son.
 • I've been taking my son out every day while shes working from home (We feed ducks, see horsies etc.) Shes currently got a few weeks off so we will all be off together starting from tomorrow. I'm the only one who drives so I'm under the assumption that means we stil

What do you think Yasopp will be like??

Many believe that he will be more like Usopp, meaning a coward. Well, we never saw much of him, tbh. But, I just can't seem to believe that.

I mean, the dude was super badass in Marineford. Not everyone would point their gun at an opposing crew because the opposite captain slighted his. I mean, I didn't see any other Red-hair pirate do that, and not for lack of guns either. Ben Beckman himself fights with a gun and didn't mind aiming it at Kizaru earlier too.

What I mean is, I believe that Yasopp is Usopp's brave version, not in the I-look-put-together-from-the-outside-but-I'm-scared-shitless-from-the-inside kinda way, but more of brave BRAVE (TM) kinda way.

Besides, Banchina already called him a 'brave warrior of the sea' and encouraged Usopp to be more like him. So, he is probably real brave. Like, the image that Usopp wants to become (EoS Usopp, maybe?)

And in Daddy Masterson and Usopp's duel, Daddy chastised Usopp for his cowardice at first, and later on was revealed to begrudgingly respect Yasopp, so I think that pretty much confirms that Yasopp, regardless of his flaws, can't be accused of being a coward at least. Moreover, Daddy even encouraged Usopp by saying that if he keeps his new-found courage and heada to the GrandLine, he'll find his dad there and to be a brave man like Yasopp.

I first didn't put much stock on Banchina calling him 'brave' because she was in love with him. I mean Kaya considers Usopp brave, which says something about how much love can mess with your senses (though I guess we already know that from Hancock, Lol). But, when a stranger (and a proud marine sniper at that) calls you brave, I guess I can't just dismiss that.

Besides, in Vivre Cards, it was mentioned that Shanks founded the Red-hair pirates with Beckman and Yasopp and that they had many formidable battles and gained fame around the world quite quickly. I guess, you gotta have a backbone if you are rising in fame that quickly and helping your captain in his fights.

Besides, the dude is a yonko's officer and he was even name-dropped when marines were discussing big shots bounties like Roger and the Yonkos, which is something that never happened with other Yonko commanders besides the RH officers.

What do you think? It's something that came to mind after reading two people debating it in an unrelated discussion, so I thought why not make one that actually tackles this subject.

With the Successor of Suikoden upon us, I thought this is a great time to update this old write-up of mine. I hope you enjoy it, and join in.

With the amazing news of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes kickstarter starting this week, I figured that while we wait with baited breath, we could talk about all the amazing stuff that the series has given us through the years, the experiences, the stories, the lore, the music, and the gameplay.

So to start things off, I will set up the mood, by talking about some of the mysteries that some or mot of us might have missed while playing this wonderful series:

~ The True Runes ~.

>In the beginning, there was darkness.

Then finally, the darkness shed a tear.

From that tear, the brothers Sword and Shield were born.

Sword Bragged that he can cut anything, and Shield replied that he could protect anything, so then the brothers began a legendary battle for seven days and seven nights.

In the end, Sword cut Shield and Shield Smashed Sword.

Sword became the Sky, Shield became the Earth, and the sparks from the battle became the Stars.

And the jewels that adorn Sword and Shield Became the True Runes "The Runes that all other runes were born from".

The True Runes are the backbone of the Suikoden universe, possessing any of them is enough to change an entire country's fate.

While having and using them in each Suikoden game was really amazing, to the point you might have even wished you had more of them because they were "awesome", and they made you feel something close to a god.

Playing through the games and living in the world of Suikoden, might give you the impression that the True Rune are merely inanimate objects that are there to grant your every wish, sadly...the reality of the situation is much more darker than what you have imagined at the time. They are nothing short of Gods, a manifestation of forces of nature and the rules and laws that govern the whole universe, therefor, each of the True Runes has it's own purpose that it will pursue, which often results in the True Rune being the puppet master to the one bearing it, forcing them to save or kill thousands of lives with no regards to the bearers will, not to mention that the True Rune will have no problem abandoning it's bearer for another as long as it helps it achieve it's purpose.

The True Runes choose their own bearers, those chosen are then not only gifted with great power

Why are managers like this?

Short intro: I work as a retail merchandiser, which that means I work for my company and is no way associated with the stores I go in when I service that store and leave. That is all I do. Now while I am a guest in the store and have to be polite with the manager, but she has no power over me. Like at all.

This happened last week. I work as a retail merchandiser as mentioned before all I do is put my companies product out and that's pretty much that. My company doesn't a dress code, just dress nice and have your id and lanyard that identifies you as that company's employee. At this store, that I serve is dress code is a navy blue polo, khaki pants, vest with the store's logo. Not that it matters, I was wearing a Captain America shirt and leggings. Now for some reason, the manager of this store, does not like my company for some reason. I don't know why. My supervisor told me it was because of the lady before that had a sour relationship with the manager, and now I was pretty much inheriting a mess. Fun times. It was like Monday and I had just gotten done with my shipment, and I'm putting my cart up and I'm signing out on the vendor log when this Karen of a manager just comes to me with a scowl on her face.

Karen: What do you think you're doing?

Me: Signing out, I finished putting out my shipment. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Karen: You can't do that, you still have boxes to put away! (Now these boxes were filled with old product that has yet to be put away, and my boss has yet to discard yet)

Me: I know about those boxes, Boss is supposed to come by sometime next week and do something with them.

Karen: Not those boxes, Those boxes she said pointing to boxes that were not affiliated with me, and those were boxes that had to move by that store's employees. I look at her wtf? I knew that she didn't like the lady before me, but what the actual hell. She had no power over me, and that this point in my life I am learning to have a backbone.

Me as firm as I can while still being polite: Ms. Karen, look. I don't have any to do anything for you that have doesn't anything to do with my company.

Karen: I don't care! I saw you help one of my employees with a box and put it back on their cart! Now go do your job!

Me: Ms. Karen it is not in my job description to move your product. In fact, I am not allowed to use half of the equipment that requires to move half of this crap. When I said this Karen, the manager went ballistic sayi

Releasing and promoting your own music for more than a decade: thoughts on ever-changing DIY-way and what lies ahead

Hey r/WeAreTheMusicMakers, today I wanted to share with y'all a collection of somber thoughts related to spreading your music as an independent artist in 2020, how it changed in 12+ years, and predictions on what bizarre trends will affect the game in the foreseeable future.

(we all play for machines now, kids, not for them fragile meatbags)

A quick introduction, so you'd know my background and level of expertise on the subject. My name's Nik, I'm a Russian composer who has started recording at home back in 2007. My most prominent project is Aesthesys, which I used as a front for my post-rock / ambient / neoclassic compositions at first (one of which was taken by XXXTentacion without permission, and that's a wild story I shared on this subreddit a couple of years ago), and in late 2011 I transformed it into a band by bringing more people on board to share my creative aspirations and evolve as a musician with. It's important to clarify right away that we were never a commercial-driven project, while our main motivation always was and still is creating the music we like ourselves and making sure we produce and present it in the best way possible. My core belief as an artist is that all humans share this deep desire of a meaningful connection, and music is one of the ways of achieving it by reflecting the images, feelings and other things open for multiple interpretations.

My experience in releasing music began in late 2008. Back then I as a listener was finding most of music for my playlist via blogs that were just sharing albums. One of such blogs was TheSirensSound, now basically defunct, which was the platform I used for sharing of my very first few releases. Back in its heyday it had dozens of different albums and EPs related to post-rock and close sub-genres posted on daily basis. People downloaded these manually, unpacked the .zips, created folders on their hard drives for artists and albums, sorted out mp3 tags and whatnot—these were elaborate rituals that now seem way too excessive. This was an era of the pro-active music discovery, where listener was doing the heavy lifting by browsing specific blogs and looking up things via specific new tools like last.fm with its "similar arti

An Open Letter to Educators

An Open Letter to Educators

Before I begin, please feel free to copy and paste this letter to anywhere you see fit. I (the original author u/Nebulas-Entity) can only spread it so far myself. So if you enjoy and know of others who could use this, by all means...

Yesterday I was contacted by three members of my personal circle that asked me to rethink my career choices. Just today, a close relative of mine demanded that I change my majors (History and Secondary Ed) so I can’t “contribute to the poisoning of America”. The education community knew it was going to be in for a hard time these past four years when our President elected Betsy DeVos to be our Secretary. But unfortunately, many could never believe that our own President would attack us in this way. President Trump’s speech on the 4th of July is nothing more than the latest attempt for this administration to find a scapegoat for its own political failures.

With the constant problems we face today, there is only one thing to say. To every educator out there, from the past, present or future, thank you. Thank you for the work you put in to our students. To our lives. We seem to forget the most important job of an educator at any level is to prep your students to become not necessarily a genius, but to become someone capable of critical thought. We as educators must prepare our students to engage in the world with tools of complex analysis and critical thinking. This is what our President fears. We are not teaching students to hate America, but to gaze upon it with eyes and mind that seek to continue to build and prosper our nation

Our country is in dire straights. But, education is the building block that allows for anyone of any identification or background to come forth and help the world. We as educators have a unique ability to spread the powerful tools we possess across the country. We seek to promote learning across all races, genders, abilities, ages and so on and so forth. If our county really is “The Land of Equal Opportunity” as our President proclaims, then educators are more integral to the building and success of American values and society than any other.

It is educators who fight through the pandemic to ensure that our students continue to progress into adulthood. It is our educators that scrape by with little funding to try to promote student learning as much as possible. It is our educators who are helping to build a better tomorrow. One where people have the ability to examin

What Your Civ VI Main Says About You

After seeing a few ‘Mains In A Nutshell’ posts for various games, I decided to try applying it to good old Civ VI. I originally tried to do this in a visual format, but that just lead to unbearably large file sizes. This is much easier for everyone.

ALEXANDER: You’re learning the Domination Victory, and so picked the civ that makes it as easy as possible. You’ll probably move on eventually to something with a bit more nuance like Hungary. If not then I have bad news: All you care about is invading other people’s cities, and everyone finds that really annoying to play against. Copying Alexander’s smirk does not help.

AMANITORE: You played this for the free UI yields, but then you realised that there’s actually some strategy in the need for Desert access. Now you actually have some pretty good city planning skill and wish people wouldn’t assume you’re a noob for playing this civ. Those of you who had the base game are still crying yourself to sleep over the loss of Floodplain Pyramids, and honestly I can’t blame you.

CATHERINE DE MEDICI: You tell people ‘No, this civ isn’t just about espionage’, but in the time you were saying that you just stole all the Gold out of their bank accounts. A good number of you will be annoyed that one of most versatile tools in the game is tied to a Culture Victory civ, but between spies and Wonder bonuses you know how to make things work. You also rush Printing every game.

CHANDRAGUPTA: The fact you play this instead of Cyrus suggests your real interest is in the city planning and going tall aspect. You faff around placing Stepwells until your opponents let their guard down and put cities near your border, then immediately capture them and ask through laughter what they thought was going to happen.

CLEOPATRA: You like the city planning and working out how to spend your boosted-Production tiles, either now or keeping them for later. You like watching the plan you made in the Classical Era come together in the Modern one. Either that or you picked one of the leaders you’ve actually heard of from real life and decided that you’re just going to make this work somehow.

CYRUS: You like peaceful victory types but you also like having really good warfare abilities whenever you need them. When not going full Domination, you’re probably the opponent that’s calm if you leave them by themselves but will rain fury and hellfire on anyone who makes shifty moves on their border. The tightness of your city planning directly

Why are void rays trash?

Everyone (casters, pros, high MMR and low MMR players) trash the void ray. They say it’s only good for cheese. Why is it bad in PvZ?

Generally, the advice is to open with harass, macro into IAC. Chargelots and archons are a great backbone to any mid game army, and it allows for spending resources in a balanced way. Immortals always struck me as okay tank, but they have more range than the other two units, so they don’t frontline. Immortals are amazing against roach. And late game against ultra. But what else are they good for? Lings/hydras wreck them. They can’t shoot mutas or overlords. They auto-target the closet ground unit, so during an A-move they will attack lings.

If you open with harass, the next step is to tech: robo or stargate. Robo means immortals, stargate means Phoenix. Are voids a terrible option? Here is a comparison of voidrays vs immortals.

Immortal: 19.2 dps (48 vs arm) 275/100 min/gas’s 4 supply 200/100 hp (+100 shield once/32s) 3.15 speed 39 build time 6 range

Void ray: 17.6 dps (29 vs arm, 47 prism align vs arm) 250/150 min/gas 4 supply 150/100 hp 3.5 speed (4.6 with flux) 43 build time 6 range

Voids will auto-target hydra first, which may be bad. And they aren’t great vs muta, similar to stalkers (better than immortals though). Voids don’t clutter the ground, so lings get better surface area, but they also can shoot without walk around archons, which can be good.

TLDR: voidrays look similar to immortals, but they cost 25 more, are flimsier, shoot up, and are more mobile. I know Phoenix are better, but they require more micro which can be a vital resource to some people. Is there a world where voidrays can be useful until carriers?

I spent far too long on Warhammer vs Star Wars, so you don't have to.

So, full disclosure, this started as a comment on /r/ImaginaryWarhammer during a discussion on who would win between the Galactic Empire and the Imperium of Man. But by the end of this, I realised I'd dug up some decent examples of the scale of the Imperium and the Navy, and it might foster some interesting discussion on the topic.

"One fairly dense planet mentioned in the Genestealer Cult Codex has 13 Hives, each of which is described as having "tens of billions" of citizens within it. That's, at the lowest possible end, 260 billion people on one world. On a high end, that's about a trillion warm bodies, rivalling Coruscant, on some relatively unimportant planet that got one mention in a Codex.

And then consider the Imperial Tithe recruits manpower from its worlds. The Imperium can drown the Empire in corpses, and actually holding a Hive World once they took it would require a huge investment of troops that the Empire just can't afford when ground armies are just so much smaller in Star Wars.

As for fleets... 40k is again far from weak, even if they have far inferior FTL. Most ISDs were about an 8th of the size of a 40k Imperial Battleship. Even the smallest 40k escorts and destroyers are about the same size as the standard ISD.

Now granted, Executor-class ships win the size contest against Battleships, but the Empire had maybe a dozen of those total. The 40k equivalent of the Executors would instead probably be the Gloriana-class ships built for the Primarchs, which are all around 20 km in length, a little bigger than the Executors. We know of at least 4 that are still in active service to the loyalists, but I would be willing to hazard that most of them are probably still in service. Overall, Warhammer has definitely got the scariest individual ships just on a "Biggest Stick" basis, without getting into boarding or ramming actions, or the independent navies fielded by Space Marines, the Mechanicus, or any other assorted organisations within the Imperium.

So, the last thing to compare is fleet numbers. Star Wars and 40k luckily enough both have definite numbers of what counts as a "sector garrison" in Sector Fleets and Battlefleets, respectively, and both settings seem to consider sectors to be roughly the same size from the examples I could find, which makes this easier.

A Star Wars Fleet (as far as I can tell, this applies to both sector fleets and mobile fleets) "typically contained half a dozen Star Destroyers as their backbone, and were augme

Newbies You can't practice if everything scares you.

Ok guys. I've been a Witch a LONG time. About 40 years. So many posts are about newbies being scared of something. Guys time to put the fear away. If you are not sure about doing something do some research. If any area feels bad to you clean it. If you are constantly afraid you are going to do something wrong it's time for a reset.

Part of being a Witch is knowing there is power in your intent. Trusting yourself enough to do the reading and study, take notes, LEARN. Then apply that. This honestly isn't a practice for weak dependent people. Find your own energy. Learn how to work with it. Use it to make the world a better place.

Witchcraft is not like church. You don't wander in once a week and be told what to do and given A book to follow. It takes an investment of time and energy. It requires a backbone and conviction. If you only want to use the craft to harm someone, want to be spoon fed how to hex and have no investment in the craft then just stop. It doesn't work that way.

You cannot come at this from a victim mentality, or laziness. Being a Witch means knowing your own worth and using your energy to create your life. Fear has absolutely NO place here. You will get out of your practice what you put in.

Signs are personal. NO one else knows if a feather, or a candle burning weird or a light flickering means something. ALWAYS look for a mundane explanation first. So the feather floated down, well birds live outside. So the candle flickered to the right, yes, any draft will do that. IF you truly believe something is a sign that is a personal thing. No one else knows your life or your circumstances, so no one else knows. There is no need for other people to validate this stuff for you. Again, find your strength. If it means something to you then it means something to you. Trust yourself.

Witchcraft is something that you have to put work into to get something out of it. No actual energy and work, no results. You start by learning. Circle casting, holidays, directions, tools, auras and so much more. Before you start casting stuff do you know how to release it? How to protect yourself with energy and or tools? Before you ever cast a spell you need to know what you are doing. Your BOS should be full of notes on many topics before you ever cast a spell. Beware of the media witches. Every single video I have seen (which granted are not that many) make the craft all about the tools. They make it look very cutesy and fun, most are very youn

Chapter 1824

Ju Yang Immortal Venerable’s Own Luck True Inheritance had already been integrated with Luck Qi’s discover mysteries.

In general, Luck Qi is divided into seven colors: black, gray, white, red, yellow, cyan, and purple. There are also other variegated colors, but it is basically a mixture of these seven colors.

Luck Qi’s form is strange, and it is related to the specific person and the person’s physical state and his own state.

Take Fang Yuan himself, he and his clone’s Luck Qi have a very different form and color.

Fang Yuan has mastered the complete Ju Yang Own Luck True Inheritance and some Ju Yang All Living Things Luck True Inheritance. Just by looking at the color and shape of their Qi Luck Fang Yuan could know the person’s state and calculate a lot of information. . .

In the Luck Cooking Pot, there are Observing Luck Immortal Gu, Time Luck Immortal Gu, Dog Shit Luck Immortal Gu, Qi Luck Immortal Gu, Connecting Luck Immortal Gu, etc. The power of these luck path gu worms can only be regarded as the most basic skill of Luck Cooking Pot: use.

The most important power of this immortal gu house is cooking.

The shape, color and scale of its own Luck Qi represent the current changing trend of the characters.

Suppose that Fang Yuan now has strong black luck qi, indicating that he is facing death. Fang Yuan can use the Luck Cooking Pot to boil the black luck qi and upgrade it using the pot.

For example, it could be upgraded to fortune luck, peach blossom luck and so on.

Ju Yang Own Luck True Inheritance’s main purpose is to study Luck Qi and how to change luck. Luck Cooking Pot is the peak masterpiece in this True Inheritance, with which you can cook Luck Qi and then transform it into whatever type of luck you want.

“However, I now have a Rank 8 cultivation base, Luck Cooking Pot is only Rank 6 and I can’t influence my body’s Qi Luck.”

“But my other clones are different. The clones with the highest cultivation are Rank 7 and most of them are mortal.”

“Just take the freshly cooked food, support the past, the effect should be immediate.” (TLN: lol wtf)

After Fang Yuan tried it out, he continued his closed-door cultivation and practiced his own qi path killer moves.

Regret Gu is needed to raise the level of Luck Cooking Pot, but now Regret Gu is still in the Celticial Grotto Heaven of the Dark Blue Dragon Whale.

Fang Yuan can order Hairyman Gu Immortals to refine Rank 6 Luck Path Immortal Gu, but refining them to the Rank 7 is still too difficult

Frugal Usenet "Independents" Day Sale...& How About Some Free Access?

EDIT- Deal dead BUT...all yearly accounts now receive a block account going forward with each yearly payment. This makes Frugal, already the best deal around, even better, even at regular pricing.

Here we are approaching the 4th of July weekend here in the states and you know what that means, the 2nd annual “Independents” Day Sale. I’ve also seen it said that with the way 2020 has been going we are now at level 7 of Jumanji, but I digress.

I started Independents Day on my Usenetnews brand last year to focus attention and special pricing on all the great, but small(er), independent news servers out there.

Here we are a year later and my other service, Frugal Usenet, had some changes recently that supports an independent news server with its bonus server access which means now, it too can have a sale, just like Usenetnews.

From now through Sunday, you can get Frugals best price ever (and honestly, best value out there) of $36 per year. This includes two backbones access with our main servers and the Bonus server AND with each payment, receive a 500 GB block account from Blocknews each year for those rare times when you need just a bit more retention. Trying to piece everything together separately from elsewhere would easily be more $$$ and potential headaches.

For some of you, seeing (using) is believing. So once again, for the long holiday weekend, through Sunday July 5th, get free Frugal access! This is a full featured Frugal account, just no posting and one account per person.

Like so many others already realize, if you know Frugal is the best value out there already, you can sign up at the above price now if you choose to.

Link: https://billing.frugalusenet.com/signup/independentsday

Look for a Usenetnews sale soon, with hopefully some great updates to announce.

I leave you with a quote from one of America's founding fathers; “Frugal Usenet is amazing.” --Benjamin Franklin (probably)

Have a good weekend!!

[Trip Report] Trip Report, "It's Not What You Think" Edition: Indiana Beach - Monday, June 29, 2020 (2600 Words)
 • Blogspot version with pictures HERE.
 • Let me know if you want me to post my Steel Hawg review when that publishes.
 • If you don't need the context, Ctrl+F "I pulled" to get to the trip itself.

Indiana Beach received a sudden shock this winter when its owners, Apex Parks Group, announced the closure of the park without warning. Then, as suddenly as it was gone, it was back, thanks to the ambition of Chicago businessman Gene Staples. Wasting no time, Staples and team had the park up and running for a June 26 VIP event and a June 27 grand opening.

While the narrative mostly tells a redemption story for the park and for White County, Indiana, footage from the VIP event has already generated controversy from the unregulated guest behavior on display. The state of Indiana has been among the least-restrictive in the region as far as business closures, but heading into Friday's event, new COVID-19 case rates remained on an overall decline. Nevertheless, an event like this, which brought many travelers from out-of-state, posed an outbreak risk if infected individuals came into the park and behaved carelessly.

Two days prior to the VIP event, I had bought a ticket and made a registration for June 29, the first Monday of the operating season. The posted safety measures looked reasonable and assuring, and I felt that with my own good practices and a cooperative public, I could responsibly visit the park without endangering myself or others. Upon seeing the event footage, I reconsidered that feeling, no longer able to count on a cooperative public. After heavy soul-searching, I decided to make the drive for the following reasons:

 • In a stroke of luck, my Monday was completely free.
 • Being a Monday morning, it seemed unlikely that there would be substantial crowds. As exciting as a rescued park is, most people are still unlikely to drop what they are doing and flock to it.
 • There was also a slight storm forecast, which has worked wonders for my luck with crowds.
 • If the crowds looked unman

The deepest report: Bitmain's self-help history

The original intention of this article is to let readers understand the causes and consequences of Bitmain internal fighting, but after writing it, I found that it is not so much internal fighting as it is a long history of self-help.

The story is very long. Let's adjust the timeline to the eve of December 17, 2018. That was one of Bitmain's most critical moments and the beginning of a series of subsequent stories.

1. Self-immolation
In September 2018, Bitmain's financial department warned management that the company's cash flow has become very tight and operating costs must be reduced to allow the company to continue. The blockchain unicorn, which is valued at more than 15 billion U.S. dollars, is crippled in the run and struggling to break the corner.

In 2017, Bitmain made a profit of 1 billion US dollars
In the first half of 2018, Bitmain made a profit of 1 billion US dollars
Three rounds of financing, a total of 800 million US dollars
Net assets should exceed 3 billion U.S. dollars
In September 2018, Bitmain had tight cash flow and was on the verge of bankruptcy

A simple comparison, it is not difficult to see that Bitmain's ability to make money is incredible, and its ability to burn money is even more extreme.

How does Bitmain burn money? Do you pour cash into gasoline and burn it, or hire a lot of employees to stuff the banknotes one by one into the shredder? The actual situation is closer to the latter.

The following data can help readers quickly learn Bitmain's money burning skills.

At the beginning of 2018, the entire cryptocurrency market has entered a bear market, but Bitmain's monthly operating costs have been rising wildly. Operating costs have risen from 10 million US dollars at the beginning of the year to 50 million US dollars at the end of the year.

Large-scale expansion of the R&D team is one of the main reasons. The HR who once worked at Bitmain revealed that the company once hired more than 50 employees a day and nearly 500 employees a month. Even so, it was criticized for its slow recruitment speed. The cash consumption in this area is approximately $250 million.

Operating costs are just the tip of the iceberg. Excessive chip trial production can become a classic case of project management courses. Readers who pay attention to Cryptocurrency mining can easily find that Bitmain is still working hard to clear the inventory of Antminer S9 in 2019. As the co-CEO, Ketuan Zhan did not listen to the advice

CMV: police abolition is a naive pipe dream, even if it were somehow politically palatable.

This is more a discussion intended for those already somewhat Left-leaning, but I welcome other political points of view. I keep seeing this push for police abolition (prison abolition as well, though that's perhaps a separate discussion) among some of the more radical Left and I'm wondering where this discourse is coming from. I prefer radical police reform, overall reduction and total cultural shift. Massachusetts is currently experimenting with such reforms with Crisis Intervention Training and the "Memphis model", though I think it will take a few years to see how effective it is. Brushing aside the question of whether the pipe dream is even remotely politically palatable for the majority of Americans who even among the Left did not vote for a progressive candidate in the last primary (though it may have in part been out of fear of Trump's reelection), I don't know if I'm 100% on board with abolition, because I tend to lean more socialist-Left than anarchist-Left, and it's difficult for to me to imagine a legitimate State without at least some means of enforcing the law (and yes, as Walter Benjamin argued, the very notion of enforcement already necessarily implies violence to some degree, and this is a tough pill to swallow even if such violence results in the greater good, which in the current case it doesn't seem to). That being said, there's good reason to believe that institutionalized systemic racism is the backbone of our criminal justice system, and many if not most problems can be solved without policing. But it seems naive to me to believe ALL problems can be solved without any means of enforcement. Even in a completely consensus-based anarchist commune setting, you still have the tyranny of the community or vigilantism to enforce or impose the law on individuals who violate or deviate from the accepted norm. Most of these communes are already self-selecting the best candidates to participate in this proactive form of participatory democracy, so they are not reflective of the population at large. To scale up from a tribal commune to the Nation State, I just don't see how it would function with absolutely no police. But hey, I am willing to entertain this idea. I would love to see if anyone can throw in some reading sources on case studies that might serve as counter examples. I've read some of the anarchist theories of David Graeber and have seen some examples he's provided of effective anarchist communities, but again, they're always operati

Hindsight is 2020: #47 - Misunderstanding

from Duke, 1980

Listen to it here!

It’s 1979, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford are putting together solo albums, and Phil’s sitting at home with a drum machine he doesn’t really want and nothing to occupy his time.

> Phil: I’m just playing, in every sense of the term. Tinkering. My ambitions are low...I program some pretty simple drum-machine parts, and I mess about on the eight-track...Over a year these doodles of mine slowly take shape. But they are doodles. Nothing is really prepared, or finished. Yet nonetheless, gradually, without me even noticing really, doodles become sketches become outlines become mini-portraits. Become songs. ^1

While out of this process would come a cathartic release of pent up emotion through songs like “Please Don’t Ask” and “In the Air Tonight”, the first fruit of these sessions was something a little bit lighter.

> Phil: The first real song I finished [writing] was “Misunderstanding”. And that one came at the beginning of this period when I was to write what would become Face Value, but that was just writing songs. ^2

It makes sense, really, when you think about it. “Misunderstanding” is lyrically mired in confusion and frustration. It’s about your significant other cheating on you and you trying to come to grips with it. Phil has said this song has nothing to do with his personal life, but come on now. Your wife cheats on you and leaves you and then this is the first song you write and you want to tell me they aren't in any way related? This is very much autobiographical, if fanciful in the details. But at the same time, there’s still a distance here. It’s created by those very fanciful details: the framing of the song in the form of a relatable story, the reduction of the relationship from a marriage to a casual dating relationship where the guy gets stood up. It’s someone who’s smitten and really looking forward to watching a movie with his new girl, but she blows him off. The stakes are way, way lower. Low enough, I suppose, that Phil could convince himself it wasn't even about him.

And that’s the point, I think. Phil wasn’t quite ready to put all of himself out there just yet. He’d opened the pressure release valve a little, but most of it was still bottled up inside. Maybe it was a lack of confidence, or maybe he just needed “Misunderstanding” as a stepping stone to the deeper, more personal stuff that would come later.

All of this is to say that

I never get to see my grandson

No copy this or posting this on any other site

Edit: thank you for the words of kindness and support. It helps to know that I'm not overreacting.

I'm also working on breaking the cycle of emotional abuse I grew up with. Constantly having someone always try to one up you no matter what did a toll on my mental health growing up. It's one of the reasons I'll suffer through pain and not complain about it.

So my mom is a JNMOM,

In my first ever post here I talked about how she went from JYmom to JNMOM and my MIL went from JN to JY.

My JNMOM does not like my so's family or him. She thinks they are stuck up and rich. (they are not, just smart with their money and not spending it on trips every 6 months.)

So 11 months ago I gave birth to the first grandchild on both sides.

This has been a blessing and a burden. Growing up I had no relationships with my grandparents or uncles and cousins. My JNmom always said it was because we are the black sheep and no one liked her.

So when I had our son I made a promise to him that he will have the best relationships with his grandparents and uncles and aunts. Second cousins and all. To this day I have stuck by that promise.

I have an open door policy with family. You can come visit him any time just let me know when your on your way. My so side of the family does this. They see our son once a week. Some times twice a week. (post covid, then for 2 months he was a Zoom baby. Once restrictions were lifted the open door policy was back on)

Now my mom loves to play the victim has been my whole life. I had a Tumor removed from my foot and was in a walking cast. The next day she suddenly broke both her feet.

Anyway she texts me and tells me we need to have a talk. I know what this means. I've messed up and she needs to tell me all the wrong things I've done to her.

It starts off with I never get to see my grandson, Mil always gets to see him and I'm worried he won't know who I am and so on.

Then it's you never invite me to do things but always invite Mil. I feel like you don't want me in your life.

Now I have proof that I invited her, and I call her out on her bs. I tell her no. It's the opposite. First Mil sees our son once a week. You see him when it's convenient for you which is once a month and only for a few minutes.

Second I invite you to come over all the time. You say yes, I make sure I have no other plans booked so you get as much one on one time with your grandson. Then the day of you cancel and call in sic

GSL Code S 2020 S2 | Ro24 | Group C | Rundown

There is no better way to kick off the weekend than with some stellar GSL action, don't @ me.

--

#Group C:

--

 • Living Legend with eight Ro8s he suffered through before lifting the trophy: Rogue

--

 • Dark Horse with terrifying peaks and unbelievable lows: Solar

--

 • Returning Legend, the man who once upon a time ruled the world outside Seoul: TaeJa

--

 • Underdog Supreme a familiar player we have next to no recent data on: Super

--

On paper, here's how this Group was supposed to go - Rogue slaps the taste out of everyone's mouths while on the war path to redeem himself for that slip up last Season, with Solar following close behind to put down whoever was left in the wake of his destruction. The problem for the Zerg duo was that the man who loves killing them had not only returned, he was looking to be on his way to establishing himself back at the very top, so provided the same TaeJa arrived with what he'd already shown us - or possibly something even better - things suddenly would feel a lot more open. Normally this is where I would also theorize how the complete unknown/underdog would also be a factor, however the lack of Super we've seen as of late coupled with his weak qualification realistically set up severely low expectations for the Protoss, with the only thing going his way being literally no one would focus on him, which if anything certainly didn't hurt his chances.

--

--

Warning: Spoilers Ahead, Obviously

--

--

Surprise, surprise, the mirror facilitates an upset with Solar securing not only 1st place but also an undefeated 4-0 record in some unfortunately truly unremarkable games.

--

What followed perhaps should have been a glorious "rematch", instead Rogue got to play the easiest ZvP of his life to secure 2nd and avoid another humiliating elimination for someone of his status.

--

#M1 | Solar [ 2 : 0 ] Super | ★☆☆☆☆ | Annihilation

 • Ever Dream | The forced third Hatch location by Super and interesting decision to go for Disruptor drops had us thinking "not bad, kid" only for the Protoss to then do a bizarro fake out third Nexus twice and go with a single Immortal push onto the Swarm's territory, which crashed and burned around 6:10 when Solar picked off his only Robo Bay unit for fre

[GUIDE] FALL IN LOVE WITH THE BOY. HERE IS A GUIDE ON EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE COMMITTING TO A REP CHANEL BOY BAG.

INTRODUCTION/BACKSTORY

Once upon a time, a lethal virus has flooded the planet and this ode to the Chanel Boy Bag was written. Happy Quarantine-ing to my fellow RepLadies. Here’s a special happy birthday and/or happy anniversary to those who cannot celebrate their birthdays and/or anniversaries like they used to due to COVID-19. I hope this long read gives you some inspiration for a future bag to reward yourself and compensate for your sacrifices during this time.

My most liked review on the sub is for my Chanel Boy Bag review. To this day, I’m still receiving many inquiries regarding the bag. Not to mention my most celebrated rep is this bag so I think its just fitting for me to do a guide. I enjoyed my black boy bag so much that I now own enough of the bag. I have bought auths, I caved because the color made me do it. Then it was followed by of course I must own a classic auth right? Lol. This is my first written guide so please, go easy on a sis. Grab a drink (cause I got a lot to say), and I hope this is useful. Cheers🥂!

DISCLAIMERS

 • This guide is put together using research and personal experience in order to make a condensed version of what you may need to QC a boy bag.
 • It is meant to address questions such as, “how close is my PSP to an authentic in photos?”. In this guide I hope you provide the reader with their QC starting points.
 • This guide does not claim to have every information there is available. I am by no means a Chanel authentication expert.
 • The purpose of guides is to help you (the ‘buyer’) make informed decision about the rep you are buying. It is also a reminder to be reasonable with your expectations for a rep.
 • The boy bag is actually a well-repped bag in the market. Having said that, there are a few itsy bitsy details that differentiates a high quality rep from other reps.
 • Important: This guide uses auth small, old medium, and new medium boy bags. I will not be using any other sizes on photo for reference other than these as these are the most popular rep sizes.
 • How to best use this guide? Take your chosen factory photos or take your chosen/preferred TS PSP sample and do a cross-comparison using information mentioned here. Or if you already own a boy bag and just wants to investigate how yours compares, you could use this guide as a backbone of information too. For rep boy bag owners, I do not mean to dismay you if yours is different from what I have mentioned in this guide. But I do want to make you

GDBypass V2 final: We push it to the max

Hello again every one:

I am glad to inform you that we are now passed the Beta version to stable version V2.

The final changes from GDBypass v1 to v2 is:

 • We change the tool from just a tool that give access to download daily google drive limited files to a comprehensive download, copy, encrypting tool.
 • We raised the maximum allowed file size from 5GB to 50GB per file with the usual unlimited daily bandwidth.
 • Shorten links is completely remove and the site became ads-free.
 • We add the ability to copy google drive files to your own space in google drive.
 • Make new directory, Trash, Delete and share files and folders of your google drive contents is available in the tool.
 • Encrypting your own files and folders links and share it anonymously every where with complete identity hide.
 • Encrypted files can be easily added to your own google drive space.
 • And the best part is that you don't need to copy the encrypted links to your own google drive space, you can directly add requested files to our own downloader with a click, which mean the shared files location is hidden and you are the one who download it is also hidden.
 • All encrypted files will be packed by our original feature (The unlimit feature), which mean the uploaders will not be in a position where their own files got limited due to daily bandwidth restriction, we will make sure every files we be surfed without limit.
 • Unfortunately we are still use the rClone API because google doesn't permit our API request.
 • Our servers cluster is capable of handle 10's of TBs per day, the only downside we have is that we use cloudflare service to mask our servers locations and we don't know till when cloudflare will let us stream such data using their own backbone ( We are not able to move to offshore provider for now because offshore is very costly and i rent server from onshore providers with less price and mask the locations using cloudflare.

Edit:

Now you can encrypt links in bulk (Upto 100 links in one time), and you can grab download links in bulk (Upto 10 folders or files links in a time).

Please let me know if there is any bugs in the website.

[Event]Valyrian Academy Lecture And Colloquium I

Bendamure’s hands trembled a little holding the paper that contained the notes for his lecture. Although he had already practiced his delivery of it for Raevarr a number of times, this was his first time properly lecturing in front of a classroom. If those greybeards at the Citadel can handle it, so can I, he thought as the students filtered in.

The class was not especially large, and mostly dominated by a contingent of young men from the Valyrian families that had settled on Claw Isle under his grandfather. There were also a few others however, some northmen, a Velaryon, and one who he believed was from the Westerlands (somehow word had gotten there it seemed).

“The next few lectures following this one shall be used to educate you in the speaking of the High Valyrian tongue, but our first lecture I thought I might begin things by giving you a sample of the foundations of Valyrian history” he began, speaking in the common tongue for the convenience of the Westerosi students.

“Perhaps the greatest tragedy of Valyrian history is that we have no definitive account of its seminal moment, when the ancient first families managed to train and ride dragons. Each Dragonlord house seems to have its own account of how it occurred, almost always involving the gods or some specific famous ancestor giving it to their own family who then taught others.

What we know for certain from what little knowledge of those ancient days remains, is that in Ancient Valyria around five thousand years ago, twenty families each domesticated their own set of dragons for riding and for war. In those days the Valyrians numbered in the tens of thousands, not the millions that the Freehold would eventually bring, and were a simple farming folk in the shadow of the Fourteen Flames. They even contended with a few other peoples who shared the same peninsula as them, but we know little of them now, not even their names, for those first dragon rider families were swift and unrelenting when it came to asserting the supremacy of Valyria above their neighbours.

This is, of course, not an unfamiliar pattern. Almost all nations are formed by a few great families gaining power and asserting themselves above others, as I’m sure you well know”, he said while gesturing at the large group of noble Westerosi students,

“What is unique of the Valyrian dragonlords, however, is that they did not assert their own status above that of their dragonless kin. At least not in the ancient days, for as we shall

If you ever wondered which were the best lords for Vampire Counts you can now stop

It's Lahmian and Blood Dragon lords. Both are melee monsters, Lahmian even has Wind of Death.

Blood Dragon Lord is THE best army leading lord for VCs. He gives you -40% rectruitment cost and upkeep for Grave Guard and Blood Knights, but just to make sure you scale well he also gives -50% recruitment cost and upkeep for Black Knights also. Boom, there you go, your front line and your flankers cost half as money, meaning less chaff, more killing power all around.

He is also a melee monster and a lord killer. He starts with 70 MA, 500 Weapon Strength and 90 Armor.

With 3 points investment he gets an extra 35 Armor, +25 AP dmg and +22 Bonus vs Large, which will make his unbuffed MA against most late game lords 92.

With another point he can buff his charge bonus by +36% and his AP dmg by 50%! AND sunder his opponnent by -30.

On top of all of that he can gain another 20% missile resist and 21 % physical resist.

All of that is from his unique abilities meaning you can even more resists, dmg, whatever from the usual yellow line if you so choose.

So not only is he making your backbone units cost -50% to upkeep, he is a melee monster, capable of eliminating other lords very quickly and will be virtually immortal vs non AP dmg.

Blood Dragon lord is a NSFW sexy monster, he will 1v1 solo naked (no gear) every other lord there is, except for a precious few LLs with tricked out abilities, take as many as you can.

On the other hand, Lahmian lords are very capable melee fighters with great melee debuffs, also practically immortal vs non AP, also exteremely capable lords killers with added benefit of WoD, and they reduce the cost of you Vampire building by -50%. This saves you ~10000 gold per building and its upgrade.

Also they buff your agents in the province they're in by 50% in success chance and reduce cost of their actions by -50%.

TLDR: Use one (or more) Lahmian Lords for the very powerful agent buff and make Blood Dragons your main army leaders.

Tom didn’t take care of his kids

By this I mean that he was wayyyy too comfortable being a hands off parent. He was always away on business in the beginning. Then when Lynette tells him she didn’t want him to be promoted because then he’d never be home, he tells her to go back to work! He couldn’t even handle being a stay at home parent and ended up working at the same place as her. Then Kayla. I mean that was solely his child and he didn’t even have enough backbone to stand up to her mother or Kayla, when the time comes. Lynette says to him at one point that it would be easier to deal with her if Tom was ever home, and he says he’s opening a pizza parlor. Well whoop dee doo! He has another child living with him that has serious problems with the only parent taking care of her! I like Tom but I hate watching those scenes because he really should’ve been forming a relationship with HIS daughter rather than making Lynette do all the heavy lifting. But that’s just Tom I guess 🤷🏽‍♀️

Victor sighed in pleasure as he sat down on his stool, folded his hands, and waited for customers. Today he was offering a 30% off sale on eyebrow glitter mods as well as fingernail polish implants. The sale had been advertised for a week so the customers came in quickly. The mod could be done in less than fifteen minutes by a trained jacker.

Victor could do it in five.

When noon came the sale was suspended till the next day and Victor relaxed, knowing that there would only be a few customers. His favorite time-management and boredom staller had updated so he overlayed the GUI of the game at 20% opacity and paid attention to the store while he played the game. He even uploaded his 'boss-program' GUI projection that made it look like he was modifying genetic code instead of tapping his way through the game.

He noted the woman entering the store but she was so unremarkable he just nodded to her and kept playing his game. She was completely uninteresting except for a scar, a slight gold ring to her left eye's iris, and the fact her left arm was 0.02 cm shorter than her left. She had long red hair, green eyes, a lithe body-type, and wore a dark suit. Terran Descent Human female, thirty years old - indeterminate-, according to her implant she was a traveler from Alpha Centuari-B.

"Excuse me, do you work here?" the woman asked from in front of him.

Victor almost jumped, cursing himself for almost missing a sale.

"Why yes," Victor said, smiling as he wiped away the game in a save-quit hand-wave. "How can Clone-My-Shit-Up help you today, ma'am?"

The woman sat down, smoothing the legs of her slacks. She held out a data-waver crystal case, giving a smile that was just slightly shy.

"Is any of this applicable?" she asked. She slid forw

Seeking advice for making Chicken Stock

I've got a few odd questions that I haven't been able to find answers to.

As possible ingredients for the stock - opinions welcome about whether or not everything can go in there, or if any should be avoided:

 • a freezer-bag full of uncooked chicken backbones after several months of spatchcocking - saved for this purpose
 • another small roasting chicken ready to go - I was thinking of spatchcocking this one too for dinner the night before making the stock, and saving both the (uncooked) backbone and the cooked carcass for it
 • Had probably the last corn on the cob of the year this past week - I saved the corn cobs and the husks in case it makes sense to throw those in there (I roasted the cobs in their husks before peeling them)
 • Have some broccoli stems and garlic skins from tonight's dinner
 • And yes, I'll include onion/carrot/celery/bay leaves/peppercorns/water etc.

So - I assume that possible sketchiness in using both uncooked chicken bones and a cooked carcass will be removed with the temperatures I'll be dealing with, but should I take care to add the carcass in much later than the bones? Are the corn cobs and/or the husks good candidates?

All of the slow cooker recipes I've found so far focus on using a leftover chicken carcass rather than anything uncooked - does my Big Bag o' Backbones mean I should be thinking about doing this (or at least starting this) on a stovetop?
