i understand they may have different opinions than you but censoring them isnt the way to go
people before covid gave joe shit because earlier on his podcast days he was much more against the msm narrative and questioned a lot. many even called him a shill. now that hes actually questioning authority and the narrative people are calling him dumb and even some are getting upvoted like crazy saying he should get censored
It's extremely creepy that we make kids recite the Pledge of Allegiance every single day in the USA. The whole point is to instill a kind of nationalism and uncritical reverence for the state. That's why it's repetitive, you have to train kids into it. Most of the time, kids don't even understand the significance, and they are routinized into it. It's an authoritarian ritual, which is about making kids respect the government and internalize a rosy national narrative that erases all the horrible things it has done (imperialism, slavery, genocide). The Pledge of Allegiance needs to go.
I know people from my childhood and teen age etc who have become cops. They generally were not buttheads when I knew them. But I see no possibility that even the nicest ones have stayed pristine in that profession. One guy taught me an acronym when he was very new on the force. NOG. The O stood for 'on' and the G stood for an 'inner city' street name in my city. You can figure out the rest. But you know what? I said nothing. So much for me being clean.
I'm hesitant to post but I know that voice in my head isn't my own. I am PROUD of myself. ~2 years ago BitchBess and my Dad invaded our home with our newborn following a traumatic birth. My father verbally accosted me in my own home accusing me of having issues with authority, and being unable to hold a job. After TWO years of counseling, an ADHD diagnosis, and no contact, I can happily say:
Husband and I are in an amazing marriage. LO is thriving with PLENTY of loving, supportive role models in her life. I've started on medication. We've walked through infertility/loss, and are becoming licensed foster parents. I also took on a new job 2 months after the blow up, where I've already been promoted, am leading 3 employees, oh AND I'm bringing home 5 figures over a 2 month period (MORE than my entire annual salary of the job I was in while they were here).
It's hard, and I often miss the parents I'll never have BUT it's worth it. I am becoming whole, I am growing, my daughter i... keep reading on reddit ➡
I have been in the NYPD for a little over 10 Years now. I am currently a front-line supervisor which is probably the most difficult yet rewarding position in the NYPD. I immigrated to the US from a (Spanish speaking country) when I was about 8 years old. I lived in Bushwick in the 90s before rent was astronomical like it is today. We had a huge 2-bedroom apartment and rent was only $600 a month. The downside was that it was probably one of the most dangerous neighborhoods to live in at the time and my parents wouldn’t let me outside after sundown. I will never forget one of my teachers Mr. Greene, he had us write a scary story for Halloween and I told him I couldn’t think of something scary. He replied, “do you live here in Bushwick?” I said yes, to which he replied, “well this is a pretty scary place so start there”. Some will say I was just fortunate or lucky, but I only had positive experiences with police throughout my teen years and it was part of the reason that motivated me to... keep reading on reddit ➡
In the early to mid 2000s I saw the early stages of the rampant anti-science movement we have today emerging from the likes of Alex Jones.
One friend of mine had begun muttering some nonsense about global warming being a hoax and citing studies he took directly off one of Alex Jones' pages so I invited my meteorologist friend to his house for a discussion. During the discussion the meteorologist went through all of the data cited and gave his counterpoints with data. Surprisingly he didn't necessarily dismiss all of the "denial" data but gave his scientific perspective on it. At the end he managed to change the "deniers" perspective and they now not only act consciously in the world but also share the information at their disposal.
Fast forward to 2014 and my son was about to be born amidst all of the anti-vaxx hype. My sister in law was very anti-vaxx and would give my wife and I countless studies to read. I remembering spending many many hours trying to find just one good arti... keep reading on reddit ➡
Updates at the bottom about cameras going offline.
Also, Photo gallery time:
Someone (the government) is spying on us with hidden cameras. They aren’t even password protected.
So, I was just browsing looking at unsecured webcams the other day, as one does, when I came across these controllable cameras with really weird perspectives. Next, I noticed they seem to be in a box with glass on three sides, with large stickers reading “DANGER, HIGH VOLTAGE” on two of the sides. I have found at least 9 of these cameras, and one that literally has a “drug Enforcement Agency” label printed on the inside.
Things that make me believe this is the government:
-Super high quality cameras. A peeping tom would probab... keep reading on reddit ➡
I was recently unfriended by an ex-coworker. She changed her Facebook about me to: "if I unfriended you and you're here now, it is personal and you should feel bad. Learn."
So libfems are gate keeping morality? This isn't the first instance something like this happened. America is so divided and I don't fit anywhere. I believe in bodily autonomy. I believe women need XX spaces free from men. I am so sick of being told I'm wrong for supporting women. For being a "TERF."
