Auricle malformations (and other physical attributes) and ADHD

When I was a kid, my mother was told by a pediatrician that the slightly misshapen earlobe I have (notched ear) is a symptom of ADHD. Looking around through scientific journals, I find some things mentioning auricle deformation and hyperactivity and other disorders, though it seems biased towards inner-ear and auditory issues, not so much cosmetic stuff.

Is anyone else aware of any physical attributes that are associated with ADHD?

My rooks are too shallow. I can't get a daith or tragus because of my stethoscope. I just got the very low forward helix (my idea bc my hairline is kinda low.) I plan on a high conch and a couple auricles once mask season is over. Any other ideas? Ignore the old misplaced lobe scars.

does anyone have a double helix+conch+auricle combo?

I’m thinking about getting a conch and an auricle on the same ear as I got my double helix on, but I’m worried that the double helix+auricle combo will look weird (too many piercings crowded in a single spot?) does anyone have this combo?

edit: I shall add that I plan to wear small studs for the auricle, an inner curved bar for the conch, and two small rings (that just hugs the ear) for the double helix

My 6 day old rook and approx 7 month old auricle aren't doing too well :-(

I got my auricle done 7 months ago and it's been seemingly mildly infected the whole time. It has a bump on it and when I do sea salt soak and wipe it down with a qtip I can see a tiny bit of green puss on it, so it seems very mildly infected. Now my 6 day old rook seems super swelled up, I'm not sure if it's normal for it to be so swollen? There is some blood around it and when I try and clean it off it won't come off, and ends up making my piercing red. I'm just kinda stumped for what to do. LITHA doesn't seem to work for me as my auricle becomes sore if I don't soak it at least once or twice a day. Anyone have any suggestions? Do i persist and remove the dried blood, is that hindering oxygen reaching the piercing or something? Definitely not wanting my rook to end up infected for 7 months like the auricle :-(

Forgot to add that the auricle is titanium and the rook is hypoallergenic stainless steel, I am allergic to nickel but my piercer said the steel should be fine.

Finicky auricle piercings

Hi all, I’m hoping for some advice. I got two auricle piercings on each side almost exactly a year ago. They were really slow to heal and it seems like they’re still healing now. I had them done by a reputable piercer and she used implant-grade titanium for the initial jewellery. I swapped the initial jewellery out for the first time about two months ago and my ears swelled up massively when I changed the jewellery. The piercings weren’t painful when I changed them, just sore and weepy, and swollen for ages afterward. I put in 316L surgical steel labret studs with a smaller ball. 2mm balls rather than 3mm (the initial size) seemed to help afterward because they were a lot smaller and I didn’t accidentally hit them as much. Sleeping on them was much easier as well, and the sensitivity of the piercings went way down. However, the sensitivity of the piercings has never fully gone away, and they continued to crust and form bumps. I decided to swap out the labret studs for endless hoops because I thought a) easier to keep clean, and b) easier to sleep on. So I put in 316L surgical steel hoops yesterday and my ears are NOT HAPPY. I assumed they’d swell up, as they did last time, but the swelling seems to have only gone down minimally after a full 24 hours. Both ears are sore but my right side is worse than my left side - and to be honest, the right side has always been the more sensitive side. But even when I just touch the piercings to clean them they start tingling and swell up again.

I’m looking for your guys’ expertise - do you think these will settle down? Does this sound like just sensitive, not-fully-healed piercings reacting to being handled too much? Or should I be concerned? I have a number of other piercings, including a very old, fully healed helix piercing, and I’m aware that cartilage can be difficult, but I’ve never had issues with any of my piercings before, so this is new to me, especially because they’re a year old and I assumed they’d be (mostly) healed by now.

Thank you in advance for anything you can suggest!

10+ year old auricle piercing suddenly hurting- any suggestions?

Hi all,

I want to preface this by saying I don't think the piercing is infected for a number of reasons (no pus, no redness, no swelling) and if I thought it was, I would immediately go see a doctor or professional. Anyway, with that out of the way, I just wanted some feedback on an old piercing randomly starting to hurt. I have an auricle piercing that I, unfortunately, did myself over 10 years ago. Surprisingly, of all my piercings, it is probably the only one that I never have issues with. Other than taking the earring out to clean, I never change the earring (a small bar). I wear it 24/7. Yesterday, I randomly started to have some vague discomfort in my ear near the piercing so I took out the earring, cleaned the hole with hydrogen peroxide, and left the earring out. I cleaned it again with hydrogen peroxide this morning and this time it stung a little on the back of the lobe and for some reason, the inside of my ear began to hurt when I did so, despite not being anywhere near that part of the ear. I put a new earring in today anyway as it doesn't seem to make a huge difference in the discomfort if I am wearing an earring or not, but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what else I could/should, that would be greatly appreciated! I haven't hit the ear or anything recently so I'm a little at a loss as to why it would randomly start hurting.
