The episode begins at 8pm EST. I'm making the thread this early as I will be at work tonight.
Wish me luck, jumping into the deep end I guess. Not sure how I got called, but it's happening. Haven't done a commercial or anything in 7 years. I'm shook. Most performing I've done since 2016 is drunk karaoke.
(Audition is on July 11th)
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Before getting into the drama let’s discuss some background and necessary terms. Drag is usually defined as someone who dresses up in hair, makeup, and costumes for entertainment purposes. Typically, drag queens are gay men who perform as women in drag, but anyone is able to participate in the art of drag.
When referring to drag queens she/her pronouns are typically used when a queen is in drag or when discussing their career. I will also only refer to a queen using their drag name but their real names can easily be found.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is a reality competition show hosted by RuPaul to crown “America’s Next Drag Superstar”. The success of the series has resulted in numerous spinoff series and a seemingly constant stream of drag related content. The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race receives a one year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics and a cash prize of $100,000. In the LGBTQ+ and drag community being casted on Drag Race is a huge deal and can pr... keep reading on reddit ➡
First post here! I’m a relatively new bass player with a background in guitar. I’m auditioning for an instrumental class with my bass as it’s the instrument I’d like to “major” in per se. Any tips from you more experienced folk out there? Songs, general audition tips.. Anything goes!🤟
Edit: I’m auditioning solo and with no specific genre of music in mind. Hope this helps if you wanna leave a tip!
Edit^2: To clarify, I’m not auditioning for a band! An instrumental class in my area is a performing arts college program class. Sorry for that :) but thank you all for your suggestions! I think I’ve settled on an Elton John song and one other you have all suggested to me.
She’s like “oh oh ohhhh” as she walks in and she sucks.
okay so today...well...in a hour and 20 minutes I'm gonna be auditioning for tenors. And my band director said that he has everyone planned out to be on a instrument and I'm just confused like....why do you have everyone planned out if your doing auditions. and I'm trying to play tenors cause playing bass drum for 6 years is kinda boring. it was fun at first. but then after years I just don't wanna play it anymore. and I'm nervous for my audition and I feel like I'm not gonna make it. Some people have hopes for me tho. any way I can make myself not so nervous?
I’m married so I can’t. Boooo😂
I think about “I get no retweets, no retweets at all” at least once a day...
I’ve been compiling a list of all audition videos from Survivor contestants and thought I'd share it since I know a lot of people are making audition videos around this time.
Here are the ones I could find in order from most recent to least. Some of them are unlisted (many were shared on Jodi Wincheski's Facebook page) or are from Twitter which is why I didn't just make a YouTube playlist.
Edit: if I see additional videos in the comments that I missed, I'll add them so it's updated.

Jamal Shipman (S39: Island of the Idols)

I've seen a lot of classic movies like this, but I like the semi-comical approach of Barry. I think I enjoy it because it's the (possibly one and only thing) that the writers and actors are actually experts on themselves. That genuine experience I think comes through.
(this is in reference to twosets latest video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXi8hmvUB6M, I left the same comment there as well)
I'll preface this by saying I know Emmanuel in real life, he's been my performance lecturer for a year at liverpool uni, and I've been to several of his performances recently to show my support. His audition is fake, here's why:
Twoset said that it wasn't his playing before the backing track started, but it is in fact the complete opposite! After he stops playing the beethoven, it's not his playing anymore. Seriously. As soon as the backing track starts, his right hand is on the piano, presumably playing that high melody, but the piano isn't even heard. As I said, I've seen emmanuel perform multiple times and he excels under pressure. The audio they put in makes him sound nervous and shaky, but he doesn't get nervous as arguably one of the best concert pianists alive. It became most obvious at like [11:50]... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hi! First time posting on this sub, hopefully I'm doing this right ^~^;
I came across the audition's announcement video on YouTube a couple days ago, and my initial thoughts were a non-serious "wow, this is cool" and "haha look I meet the requirements, I should audition". I just had gotten into kpop at the beginning of this year, and I wasn't expecting to consider auditioning this early in 😅. I didn't really think about it much until I noticed the mass of comments of people mourning the fact that they were girls, or didn't meet the age requirement, etc., which got me thinking about the opportunity. Not only did I meet the basic requirements for the audition, but I also have some other attributes/skills that might be beneficial:
The winners of the voice election are:
By a very large margin, Karen Hojo has won the general election!
The top 5:
Most of these aren't too surprising, but this is a big jump for Nao, who never comes close to ranking this highly.
I'm currently editing a video that was shot outside and has a lot of wind background noise. I can't find a way to remove the wind noise without affecting the voice audio.
Hey guys! My name is Lauren and I made my first audition tape for the show! Sure, it’s rough around the edges and it’s scrappy, but I stayed true to my fun and authentic self! If you could take a couple minutes out of your day to watch my audition and maybe provide feedback or constructive criticism, it would mean the world to me!❤️ I know I’ve already made some rookie mistakes like not talking about how I’m gonna win the game (if I ever play lol). But I’ve been a huge fan of the show and I’d love to be a part of it someday... thanks a lot💕💕💕

Both top orchestras are auditioning concertmaster replacements for Malcolm Lowe (BSO) and William Preucil (Cleveland). By the end of October, in theory both orchestras will have selected their new leaders.
What is fascinating to me is the difference in the repertoire requirements.
Cleveland is more prescriptive while BSO is arguably more demanding with a third (more) modern concerto vs. the Bach Chaconne and the inclusion of a chamber music test.
Key differences in the non-solo repertoire:
Don’t get me wrong, there have been some entertaining acts this season, but not nearly as many as the seasons before it.
Four things have ruined this season in particular for me:
Cinematic Editing: I can’t stand how each act is cut, chopped up, slow-mo’d. Every 2 seconds the camera angle changes, or cuts to the judges/audience. Old school AGT editing was much more satisfying as I felt you could really take in the entire aura of the act.
Deluded Audience: For this season in particular, the judges has been listening to the audience more to manipulate their votes. I feel like every other act, Simon turns to the crowd to make up his vote for him. The problem is... they’re deluded. They’re so easily entertained/wowed. I’m just not seeing the talent they see is all I’m saying. And don’t get me wrong, they’re allowed to have their own opinions (although something tells me they are prompted by the producers), but the judges should be able to use their brains.
Sob Stories: The past five o... keep reading on reddit ➡
I was watching a spoiler video for season 13 of Drag Race (because I love to ruin things for myself), and someone in the comments said something about wanting Evah on the show. Someone replied and said she had tried to audition many times and eventually gave up. I honestly could never picture her on that show and never knew she tried out for it. Does anybody know if it’s true or naw?
It’s my only EM audition rotation, thus the only SLOE
Guys, it’ll probably be okay, right? Probably? Anyone?
I can’t stop clenching my butthole
Hi Everyone! My name is r/Kozmo_Arkanis
Simon: Tell us about yourself.
Well I beat cancer, I was BULLIED, I was ran over by a car, survived a plane crash, survived a heart attack, conquered an eating disorder, beat alcoholism, recovered from a cocaine addiction, had 5 divorces, have 2 metal plates in my head that pick up alien satellite signals, and was molested by bigfoot.
Heidi: Thats great, what are you going to do for us today.
Howie: Wow! Amazing! This is the greatest season of AGT ever! Remember everyone at home to vote!
Sophia: Ai Papi! Joo are soo wonderful, like the singing birds in Columbia and joo make me want to jiggle my boobies!
Heidi: As a German I dont understand humor, but as a mother I relate to this.
Simon: I dont like it.... I LOVE IT! Brilliant! You are truly an inspiration!
"Through the eyes of an angel" starts playing in the background and we see slow motion tears from the audience.

Has anyone heard anything from the contestant search team lately? I passed the in-person test about a month ago and received an email saying “We’re figuring out what the next step in your audition process will be; we’ll be in touch”, but it’s been a while now.
Does anyone know if they’re still doing group interviews over Zoom?
Hello! This is my first time doing an audition reaction post. I saw other people do this and I thought it was an interesting way to analyze the auditions, so I decided to do one myself.
First of all, does anyone else feel that the background music was way too loud this episode? There were several instances tonight where the music drowned out what people were saying, so I couldn't hear them. This was even the case with some of the performances. This wasn't a problem last week. It's weird. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this.
Annie Jones - I find Dance Monkey very annoying because of the singing voice, so I always wanted to hear someone else sing it. She did really well and I think the song worked, surprisingly! I just find it funny how she traveled across the entire world just to sing Dance Monkey. Her voice sounded great though, and I would say yes. She's a good singer, but I hope she does something different and goes beyond pop in the upcoming rounds.... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hello again, everyone.
Me and u/TheThirdGathers have now gone through all the auditions for the three big remaining roles. You can watch the compilation here.
Aside from the auditioners, it also features u/Sylarjr as Luke Skywalker, u/DarthDementous as Han Solo and C-3PO, u/OpheliaBloodstone as Princess Leia, u/TomSthePoster as Darth Vader, u/Rivercast as Boba Fett, u/BOBULANCE as Captain Piett, u/EclipseMT as General Veers, and yours truly u/Quirderph as the Stormtroopers.
Quirderph - Eh... a bit too emotionless, I feel.
TheThirdGathers - I agree, it's not bland enough to be funny for how bad it is, not nearly good enough to be good.
Quirderph - Sounds too young. Doesn't suit the character.
TheThirdGathers - Yup.
Quirderph - Not entirely sure about him.
TheThirdGathers - He's all right, I suppose. I feel like there's a droid voice or rebel pilo
