Someone explain to me why Atom uses nearly 1-2GB of cache on my MacBook Pro. And I even have no plugins installed. Just use it as barebones text editor. I even fresh reset, but cache still hogs and nearly overflows my laptop's storage. I mostly work with a lot of long Python/Java files. Please help me fix this for good before I have to switch to Sublime ;(
I got you friends :)
I understand the Atom shop helps keep this ship afloat - totally get it.
But some of these cool things you have coming in, please balance out in-world drops and rarities with atom shop adds? The fact that all of the PA armor paints keep coming out via the Atom Shop basically ruins the interest level. I'd love it if there was some cool new PA paint scheme, but to get it you had to grind through three different events and a few in-world other things - only to have a chance it might drop. But, if it's simply "spend 1400 atoms" and you have it, well, that's no longer really rare or interesting. The novelty is lost.
It also doesn't meany anything to add it to your armor anymore - it doesn't represent an accomplishment to show off the wiz-ding skin, it just means you spent some atoms and maybe a few bucks. Big deal.
I've found most of the rare things in the game, and suddenly, it's less interesting to grind. Having that rare plan or item drop is what keeps it interesting.

When I try to install Atom it pops up with a message saying 'Update has stopped working'. Then it asks me to open the setup log. Are there any solutions to this? (I'm on windows 8.1)
I am using atom for local development in Python on Windows, but I would like to work on a C++ project on a network Raspberry Pi 4. How can I use Atom to do this? I know there are some ftp/ssh packages, but I would like to compile the code for and see the output of the Pi in Atom, without having to open a separate ssh-terminal. Anyone got any clues?
I don't know how many people read this, but I'm hoping it gets a reply. If not helpful, point me to somewhere more useful for me?
I'm using atom to create a localisation mod for a game.
How would I use Atom to format a line of text? Say I have
menu_inventory = "Inventory",, how would I change that to be
"menu_inventory" : "Inventory",? If that's possible at all.
Also, a bonus question (you're amazing if you can help me with this). It's a long shot but worth a try.
The way I'm creating the localisation is by taking the line
menu_inventory = "TranslationHere",--Inventory and turning it into
"menu_inventory" : "Inventory",.
Is there a way to make atom format it for me?
Atom will take this:
menu_inventory = "TranslationHere",--Inventory menu_settings = "TranslationHere",--Settings
and make it into this:
"menu_inventory" : "Inventory", "menu_settings" : "Settings",
Even if I have to do it line by line then that... keep reading on reddit ➡
Is there a way to install atom and some packages on a computer that has no internet access?
Edit: On Windows 10
There are 10^82 atoms in the universe. Is there anything in the universe that is more abundant than the amount of atoms in the universe?
I'm aware that there are an infinite amount of numbers, but I'm asking about a physical/tangible thing.
Not sure what's going on here. The project tree is structure like this
Dev \_ MyProject | \_ Subfolder | |- Script.py \_ Other Folder OtherProjectFolder AnotherOne
I think it's worth noting that
Dev is located somewhere in a desktop folder, while the other two are located inside
When opening Platformio's Terminal in Atom, it shows
Dev as my current working folder, which makes sense. However, trying
os.listdir() and running with Script, I only get
['.git', 'OtherProjectFolder', 'AnotherOne'] as output.
I am really confused as to why my project folder is missing. Any help is much appreciated!
I’m currently working on a large Laravel project and when I try to find some words in all the .js files using find in folder function atom just crashes, does anyone have this issue? I’m using macOS Catalina btw
EDIT: No Fallout 1st additions
Approximately 4 days ago I woke up at 6:00am so I could get ready for work. I have a routine of waking up, grabbing my RC stash, taking out a nice tasty flualp blotter and cutting it in half to dose in the morning and saving one for the evening. I didn’t black out or anything, but the memory of where I put my stash just deleted. I arrived home later in the evening ready to trip on 4-HO-MET, and I go to reach for my stash, that is hidden away in my closet. It isn’t there. I start to panic, and tear my closet apart. Still couldn’t find it. Tore my entire room apart 3 times, and the envelope which was holding a couple tryptamines and lysergamides, copious amounts of benzos, and my new lover, DCK, would not turn up.
I hope one day, the stash will reappear when I need it the most.
Does anyone know what is causing these white lines? I had a feeling it was Microsoft ClearType, but it is turned off. My Graphics drivers are up to date and I reinstalled atom today.
I've been trying for 2 days now to install the data-atom package so I can reference and query SQL in Atom, and it won't. I've tried npm cache clean --force and just generally anything I could find online, but to no avail. I keep getting this same error message. Anyone know what might be wrong?
Nothing in Fallout 1st
Modded it into the game so i could get a better look https://imgur.com/a/Owb4B59
I know it's all down to personal preference, but I find myself holding on to my atoms, and I actually want to spend them. I was looking forward to this week's new items, and again just nothing for me.
I'm happy for people who do find stuff that they enjoy, but I wish Bethesda would diversify the atom shop a bit more (maybe a better mix of post-apocalypse and fallout 'Sims' stuff, to please those two customer bases).
[Edit]: Thank you everyone for keeping it civil, I've enjoyed reading what you all think :)
Q- How Much? A- I would expect 1800 Atoms.
Q- When? A- We dont know. Files have been in a the game for a while now. I would expect sometime after Wastelanders release.

Last June, I posted a write-up discussing the Barbed Wire Bowl, a football game between German prisoners of war shortly after World War II. For this piece, I figured I take a look at football in the other theater of the war.
This was the Atom Bowl.
On August 9, 1945, Nagasaki became the second city ever to be hit by an atomic bomb. We obviously know the ramifications of the American bombings and the debates that rage on today, so let’s quickly shift gears into football!
#Angelo Bertelli and Bill Osmanski
In the months since the bombing and Japan's surrender to begin Allied occupation of the country, American troops found themselves stationed in the destroyed city. Among those troops were the Second Marine Division, particularly the likes of Second Lieutenant Angelo Bertelli and Navy Lieutenant Bill Osmanski.^
Before joining the war, Bertelli was a star at Notre Dame; despite being a single-wing running back when he enrolled, he later became a d... keep reading on reddit ➡
I know it might not go with all the brightly-coloured squeaky clean camps with their giant statues, mint condition wallpapers and white picket fences but I'm pretty confident some stuff influenced by the game series called Fallout would fit. Not sure if others are familiar with the series and it is a bit against the grain but hopefully others might see where I'm coming from?
I know stars are pretty huge, and atoms are unimaginably small. So, sizewise, are we humans closer to the size of a star or to the size of an atom?
Edit: I know this is a big cliche, but I did not expect this to get so many comments and upvotes. But I'm really glad it did. And I'm really thankful to all of you who dedicated some time to answer me (even with all the calculus involved)!I'd like to point out that some people here are commenting something in the lines of 'the average human is not even 2m tall, and the sun is millions of kilometers wide, of course we are closer to an atom!', and yeah, at first it seems to make sense, but then again, as some kind people pointed out (and that's where my doubt originally came from), atoms are absurdly small. And, yes, although stars are massive, I proposed myself the following mental experiment: if I could increase or decrease the size of a human, at a same proportional and constant rate, would it take longer to a human reach the size of a... keep reading on reddit ➡
I know theres a platinum plate that the hydrogen hits, and a membrane that only the hydrogen ions can pass through, but I don't understand how the electrons separate.
All research only states they "get separated" but fails to explain why it separates.

Ever since fossil Pokémon were announced to be in 7 km eggs, and Riolu was moved to 10 km eggs, they seem to have disappear. Coincidence?
Edit. (To clear some things up..)
The difference between "Authentic" and "Inauthentic" are meaningless, I know, I knew when I posted and yet at least 2 people told it.
When I said "atoms", "particles", etc., that means by extension how they work, i'm not calling it "physics" since we don't know everything about how stuff works(like quantum physics for example).
"Refusing this as a possibility" implies that there are other possibilities, i'm not saying the one I mentioned is the only possibility, who knows? Maybe we're the sperm of a squirrel with crab legs who is made of multiverses instead of molecules, any imaginable insanity is possible when it comes to beliefs, including the simulation theory, there is no real way to fully prove or disprove any of them.
There is a challenge to catch every disease in the game at least once worth 80 Atoms. While sooner or later most players will have caught nearly all of them, one disease is very elusive and many high level players will be sitting at 21/22 progress because of this.
The Whoopsies is so difficult to catch because only a single enemy in the game carries it - a Diseased Mirelurk Hatchling. These spawn from Mirelurk Queens, who themselves are often diseased and surrounded by many other diseased Mirelurks, so you will almost always catch a different disease than intended before the hatchlings give you The Whoopsies. There is a 15-minute grace period between you catching an illness and being able to contract another one, and within that period the hatchlings will have inevitably perished.
However, I discovered a spot where hatchlings will spawn in the dozens without needing to fight a Mirelurk Queen. Follow this guide to catch the elusive disease and get your 80 Atoms!

Seriously Bethesda, just a suggestion and the good news is I'm pretty sure most of us are already over that number. 😋
I've been testing atom as a possible solution to the god awful SAS IDE in work and have been following this guide to get it up and running to check it out https://github.com/srosanba/sas-atom.
I only downloaded atom yesterday, work has a fairly aggressive proxy so I can't install packages the traditional and nice way and have to put them in the %appdata% folder by getting the repo from github.
However when trying to use the related package @ https://github.com/nick125/related I noticed that atom-space-pen-views is a dependency in the package.json. I tried to manually add it to my package folder but ATOM cant seem to see it. I get the feeling that every package will get its dependencies from the web but does anybody know what to do if this is not possible, to manually install the atom-space-pen-views package.
Unforunately I can't get the stack trace as it's on the work network and reddit is bloc... keep reading on reddit ➡
Three are a lot of good things in the atomic shop that I can’t buy it because there is no more space in my camp. I REALLY like my camp, I want to improve it not change what’s already in place. Will they ever give us more budget?!
Abu Sa'eed said: "Whoever has doubt (about this hadith) then let him recite (from the Quran): “Indeed Allah does not deal unjustly with even an atom’s weight”

How significant or effective is this strategy in increasing gross? Will it be as significant as Tuesday discount?
How is the tickets purchased counted in theater gross? Are theaters paying Distributor normal price, with the cost difference is split between theatre and Atom? Or are they reporting the actual money received?
Its just the old sales and a mothman bundle
should have reset 5 minutes ago now
EDIT: Its now updated- here :
I find there are lots of cool items in the atom shop that I would buy, but I don’t because I just don’t have the camp budget to place them. I seem to always be at 100%.
Anyone else having this issue? It would be nice if maybe Bethesda increased camp budget for 1st members at least?
Bethesda, make it happen.
Yes this is a repost, fixed spelling error.
Edit: 250 upvotes? Wasn't expecting such support for what I though would be an unpopular opinion. Shows what the overall community wants, maybe it's time to stop putting all these cheesy items in the store: plushies, wallpaper, sparkly outfits, and goofy weapon skins. And start adding things that fits the post apocalyptic theme the game is suppose to be drawing from?
Q- How Much? A- I would expect 1800 Atoms.
Q- When? A- There are no Atom Shop Preview Images for it yet so likely still a ways off.
When searching for Virgil you come across a Children of Atom's settlement in the glowing sea, and the Children are wearing nothing but a few rags while living in the most radioactive area of the Commonwealth, but the game doesn't really tell you how that's even possible. Thanks to the Far Habour dlc we know that not everyone shares this "blessing of Atom", as per the fact that some of them have to take medicine or make anti-radiation meds (Ware's Brew, for exemple) to survive the radiation. There's a possibility that they are minimaly scarred ghouls (Nick Valentine mentions the existance of different levels of scarring on ghouls on his file on the mysterious stranger), so it's possible that they simply didn't have their skin corroded? Or is there any other explanation I'm missing
