Given how much content they add on a regular basis (weekly even) to the atom store there is almost an entire games worth of content there. Like easily most of fallout 4 in terms of cosmetic and gameplay content (via camps stuff like collectrons).
If the game got smaller free patches and updates to do stuff like expand camp budgets or add new grindable building packs imagine the difference. Imagine that the responder gear was largely grindable and a reward for specific sub-factions within foundation. Imagine that the raider gear and riot gear was a reward for completing campaigns and achievement collections.
There's nothing wrong with cosmetics and a micro-transaction store, and yes Bethesda has to make money to fund online servers, but I don't think enough people sit down and realise how much better this game could be even with a premium store.
I read that a 14nm transistor is only 67 atoms across, would that limit the resolution?
Edit: The reason why I'm asking is that in one scene in Iron Man 2, Tony says, "Jarvis, what does that look like to you? Not unlike an atom, in which case the nucleus would be here," pointing to the top-right corner of the holographic projection of a spherical atom. Although I'm a huge fan of the MCU, I know they're mostly scientifically inaccurate, but still sparked some curiosity within me. I am aware of the unpredictable nature of electrons, which is why I asked if it applied to the nucleus too. Assuming an atom is a so-so approximate sphere, would the nucleus exist exactly at the centre of the sphere or is it in the corner? You can calculate the probability of an electron's position by squaring it's wavefunction and integrating wrt to position. I was curious about the probability density of the nucleus's location, and is it highest at the centre or at another location? Does the unpredictable nature of electrons apply to the nucleus too? If so, can one determine the probability dens... keep reading on reddit ➡
I’m tired of messing up my adventure build for my NW build and vice versa. Also, please let us adjust NW perks outside of NW so we’re not racing the start match clock.
It looks like when you complete a challenge that rewards atoms, your current atom balance temporarily resets to a different value. When you check the atomic shop, it reverts back to the original balance but you don't have those extra atoms that you were just rewarded. I suspect this only affects people who are on steam linked accounts.
So I did some thinking and checked my Bethesda account as I remember it tracked a separate atom balance from your steam linked account and lo and behold... There were my missing atoms.
Check it out yourself, log in to your Bethesda account and you will find the lost atoms just sitting there.
Edit #1: Another way to check your Bethesda client balance is as below (thanks /u/cmVkbmFz) > Or just use > > bSteamEnabled=0 (1 for steam) > In your Fallout76custom.ini
Edit #2: I couldn’t get the above setting to work but others have so your mileage may vary.
Edit #3: Looks like it is fixed! Thanks everyone for providing quick info and for th... keep reading on reddit ➡
It is driving me bananas that literally No One can do Radiation Rumble right.
500 Atoms is $5! Just for a Bobblehead Stand that is BLACK! #BLM?
With a maximum total of 1500 atom for doing all my daily and weekly challenges over the next two and a half months, I feel like it's practically impossible to get anything expensive in the atom shop without spending cash to buy points.
Sure there's a bunch of cool rewards on the board, but such a small limit to the total atom you can earn over two and a half months completely sucks.
If in the future we create the technology to enlarge matter, specifically atoms, what consequences would that hold? Would the nucleus be 'hard' (would we be able to walk through it, would it be lethal to walk through it?) Would it obstruct the very nature of reality as we know it?
Anyone else getting to the point where it’s like they no longer care what cool shit is in the store because there is no camp budget to put it anywhere?
We get Atoms monthly as part of FO1st but no point in buying camp shit cus where’s it gonna go?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but reaching level 100 in the legendary run nets you 500 atoms which is enough atoms to buy levels 98, 99 and 100 and still leave you with an extra 50 atoms, so if you're close but not going to make it in the end, just make sure you have 450 atoms in the last week so you can buy the last three levels if they matter to you. I tried to confirm someone else hadn't already broadcast this, but didn't see anything in the recent posts about it.
Bethesda how about making it so we can gift things in the atom shop to our friends? Like I got a buddy of mine playing and he really liked a few of the skins but he was hesitant to pay money on cosmetics since he was still unsure if he would enjoy the game, but like I wanted him to have a good experience and I have a bunch of atoms that I could have spent on a couple skins for him to enjoy. Just a thought!
I keep seeing so many comments about the season pass in the belief that it's impossible to finish it without spending atoms, you can't miss any challenges whatsoever or you would have to grind crazy xp on the XP challenge.
If you were to do all the challenges on the season you would finish it two weeks early. It is possible for you to finish this while you miss some challenges. This is also taking into account the planned double score weekend and double XP events in the timeline of the season - you will have well enough time. Link is below:
I just think people really need to stop panicking and relax about it. Yeah I understand if you can't play all the time you are at a disadvantage, but that's the same with any season pass on any game that has one, not exclusive to this game. Remember it's not a race, just do it at the pace it's meant to be done and you won't burn yourself out doing it.
Chill out everyone!
That was the entire point of all future story content being free right? The idea that in exchange for free story content people would instead buy atoms to spend in the shop for cosmetics.
How many atoms have you bought? For the vast majority of players I'm willing to make a wager that the answer to that question is zero. I've never given Bethesda a single cent beyond initially purchasing the game and still have almost 27000 atoms to my name.
The more free atoms people are able to hoard the fewer atoms they need to purchase from the store and the less money Bethesda has to continue rationalizing supporting this game. They didn't add repair kits, scrap kits and 1st because they're greedy money grubbing assholes, they more than likely did it because they needed to find a way to make up for the profit they weren't making from atom purchases.
Reducing the number of free atoms people can earn and thus hoard is something that has been drastically overdue in this game in order to ince... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey guys! Make sure you try not to complete any ATOM challenges for the time being! I completed a few last week as well.as this, I accumulated 160 atoms from these challenges but didn't get the ATOM points!
[EDIT] Thank you very much guys! With your help, Bethesda has been notified of the problem and responded that they will look into this issue! :D
Has Bethesda said anything about this? Will we be able to gain atoms in any other way?
So often do I see an something from the atom shop another player is basically advertising for Bethesda, but I can't buy it. Also as a new player it made me think the shop was small and lackluster.
I feel they miss out on more sales from people not being able to see everything they can buy than they make from people scared it will go away forever and impulse buy.
To keep the best of both worlds, sales for items could be as rare as an item coming back now, and people will still want to buy stuff fast before the sales go away and they would have magnitudes more stuff to sell.
How, after all these years, all the existing extensions for vs-code are still not even close to something like ftp-remote-edit from atom.
The closest I've come in vs-code is remote-fs. This one is almost perfect, you can add a remote folder to a workspace and it works like a local folder, it auto saves on the server.
One big flaw though: it does not support ftp over SSL/TLS.
Does anyone else have a better solution? I've tried most of them.
EDIT: Thanks for all the replies, I'll be going through these options next week.
I don't expect free stuff and I'm more than willing to pay for atoms if I really want something and don't have the atoms. However after looking through the pass I can safely say I probably wont use about 75-85% of the stuff it awards. Without trying to sound ungrateful, 1500 atoms was previously obtainable every 2 weeks or so, now we earn it every 3 months and that is under the assumption we complete the pass.
I was 100% down for the pass as they said that, yes we would be gaining less atoms, we would also get a bunch of free rewards. I didn't think those rewards would be reskins of stuff I ALREADY paid for; Raider gas mask, Captain Cosmos Outfit (which they had the audacity to put into the shop right before releasing the pass)
I'm happy that there are ways to get free stuff as most games don't give us the chance to earn it. However this has just taken a lot of the freedom I had to choose the rewards I earned and does't leave me a whole lot of reason to play the game. I was very exc... keep reading on reddit ➡
So I am on an RPG binge. The less generic kind. Or should I say more indepth kind.
Played disco elysium, thoroughly enjoyed it. I (almost) finished underrail. After that I played all 3 shadowrun games (in less time than it took to get where I am in underrail...)
I am looking for another good RPG. I asked awhile ago about different game recommendations and it seems like tyranny and pathfinder might be top 2, since underrail already did the post apocalypse thing. KENSHI seems like underrail mixed with mount and blade which I like the idea of but don't know if I want to go back to being frustrated and annoyed.
I'm looking for something RPG heavy, where you can really customize or "flesh out" your experience. Shadowrun games were nice but fairly basic, great modding potential, but after playing all 3 games back to back, im sort of tired of the XCOM like combat and too tired to try the mods for now; a reason I am skipping wasteland 2 for now as well as its literally a mix of things I am... keep reading on reddit ➡
I had the chance to visit an Arc'teryx store today, and they told me the new FW20 lineup would gradually be arriving in stores. They had already received the newly revised Atom LT, Gamma MX, and Beta AR. Here are some pictures I took and my first impression of these revisions. Very curious to see what everyone else thinks.
According to Arc'teryx, the "redesign includes an update to the cuff construction for easier on/off and layering, an updated material package for enhanced durability, updated fit, and a dope dyed liner."
The change in the cuff was not as drastic as the change for the Gamma MX, seen below. I didn't notice any difference in being easier to get on and off. The outside fabric was changed but didn't feel significantly different than the previous model. Ditto with the insulation: the switch to Coreloft compact wasn't physically noticeable, and I'd be interested in seeing the improvements in longevity this switch could m... keep reading on reddit ➡

AtomPacks Atom 30 $255, 397 g as reviewed
Full disclosure, I bought this as a "business trip" bad to bring to conferences, and not as a backpacking bag. However, I've been backpacking a lot with my family this summer, and my daughter has been using this on all her trips. I've also used it myself as a daypack for a lot of hikes.
The side pockets. Oh my, the side pockets. I'm the ULer in my family, so my gear is so much lighter than my family that I compensate by carrying (most of) the shared gear (I won't do this with non-family). This means that all summer I've been carrying two, 2 person DCF tents. The kids are much happier with the bare minimum, and my spouse often carries food, but those two tents take up a LOT of room. The side pockets on this pack, easily each take a tent. That means that I can (and have!) put one or both tents in the side pockets and the main compartment is open for whatever.... keep reading on reddit ➡
It would be pretty cool if we had an option to get a blanket matte black skin all for our guns.
Alternatively, an option to mark weapons not for sale/trade or both.
TL;DR: Car fast. No windshield. Gokart. Jeremy Clarkson.
Specifically the car is a 2013 Ariel Atom 3. It has ~2000 miles, the naturally aspirated K24 engine, and appears to have an aftermarket exhaust (put down the expanding foam). I just took delivery of the car 3 days ago. My first time seeing an Atom was when I paid for it at the dealership. I already know it's going to be asked: I run a business producing auto parts
I pixelated a lot of the background because I dont need people going all CSI to figure out where I live. The exterior: https://imgur.com/a/MMGv3Gx

That is a Ferrari FF next to it. I'm just 6 feet, and when sitting with the seat properly adjusted, the top of my head is about 2 inches above the top of the wheel on the FF. Even at my height, my eyes are only a few inches above the top of the dash. I... keep reading on reddit ➡
you did for the power armor edition contorversy you said we can't give you S.C.O.R.E drecitly can we at least be pay back with atoms so we rank up 3 time aka 500 atoms or more i've lost almost of my dailys for Mothman's sake please give us some reparations
I'm looking at a camp with 5 of these in it. Just wondering if this is a legit thing of if I should be sending in a report.
Personally, I want the country wooden door to come back. My camp has no exterior doors because the default doors look so bad.
Think we need a physical atom shop in the game world where can look at the items before we buy, speffically outfits ect. If your like me your see something that takes your fancy in the menu, buy it, try it on and immediately regret your decision but too late just blown 700+ atoms down the drain.
A place where players could see how it looks before they buy and maybe recieve something like 10% discount over time for visiting there and doing daily/weekly tasks. Now we've got the NPCs surely one of em has the knack so set up shop 👍
*Edit/update - Just bought the secret service helmet. Whilst not atoms still time consuming gold bullion and I have to say ... complete crap! It does NOTHING lol!! I know it's my fault for presuming it did like it's other parts (go figure) and not researching it but still, this is even more reason why we need some kind of try before you buy, info, system, something!
