I can't believe this guy has insulted and verbally abused Subaru much more than Echidna has to Emilia. He was even trying to brainwash him and put a bomb in his body. He made him look like he's so weak and stupid through his words and also has talk shit to Emilia just because Crusch got amnesia. She thought that Subaru will never be a better person I hate her so much it's not even comparable to Lilliana.
I kinda like him in the anime but when I read the novels, damn it just proves how click bait this character is.
I'm confused why did the anime make him look like a likeable character. He's so irritating to read in the novels. He's much more jerkier and dumbass especially in arc 3 than the anime.
In arc 5, he's so one dimensional simping on Crusch so hard, really. He gets so mad and blame others just because his princess was injured by Capella.
He's literally like Sakura.
I've been looking at real estate under 350k and noticed this unit at Argyle House that caught my attention. It's one of the few older buildings that has in-suite laundry, no rental restrictions, and you also get an extra bedroom, which isn't very common at this price range in Metro Vancouver unless it's a leasehold.
Is the main tradeoff the high strata fee ($455, which is quite high but makes sense based on only having 41 units in the building as well as an indoor pool) and no rain screen? I did notice on Google Street View that the parking lot area was undergoing some type of maintenance back in October 2020, maybe a membrane repair or something.
It just piqued my interest so thought I'd ask here. Thank you!
Check out my review of Voice of War here.
Stones of Light is the follow up to Zack Argyle’s SPFBO Finalist Voice of War and the second book of Threadlight. Being an advanced review, I am going to keep this totally spoiler free (including any spoilers for Voice of War) and add a link to spoilers a week or so after release for those interested.
For anyone who has read the first book, I can comfortably say that Stones of Light steps up in every single way (for everyone else, you should do that!). It picks up every dangling thread (pun intended) from the first book besides two. Of those two, one really never had an opportunity to develop and I have my own theories about the other. However considering how cleanly everything else was advanced I have no doubt that those two points will be addressed in the future.
Besides that I only have exactly one, very nit-picky, criticism being that I wanted more of a specific subplot early on. Even then, I can’t be too upset because the overall pacing of this book is phenomenal. Google Books places it at 295 pages which honestly blows my mind considering how much Argyle packs in cleanly. Three POVs in three totally different locations are perfectly balanced so no one feels left behind but each story is still engaging at just the right moment.
Meanwhile, there is a pretty significant amount of worldbuilding brought in between two of those locations plus some interesting revelations about the magic system and lore. My favorite bit comes as members of two civilizations meet and have to reconcile two diametrically opposed versions of the same lore while facing an enemy forcing them to work together.
Last, there are some quietly awesome character interactions related to family and alcoholism that hit me in all the right ways. Even the secondary and tertiary characters feel lived-in and it adds such depth to the world. So many interactions and inner-monologues show an understanding of very real issues and anxieties that often don’t get the screen time they deserve.
Again, 295 pages.
This is a tight, efficient book that never feels rushed which, in a genre often dominated by tomes, is so refreshing.
Why should you read? This is a fun, action packed sequel mixed with moments of such heart tha... keep reading on reddit ➡
I'm new to this subreddit, I work in a hospital (IT department) and the dress code is business casual. I have seen many men wear button down shirts or polo shirts. Is it okay for me to wear an argyle polo shirt? Or would it be better if I wore something more plain? I also wore Chelsea boots to work and they never really said anything, I have gotten looks from other people in the hospital. However, my manager never said anything so I'm assuming it's fine.
New couple to the area, looking for other couples who can link up with us and have fun and give us the skinny on the area.
Bliss was quick fun but we definitely want more of a couple/swinger vibe
