Yes I know this was on Tumblr as a joke but then I started really thinking about it and wanted to know, Google has been no help
I remember all kinds of archeological stuff sponsored by the church. My parents have tons of books like Ancient America Speaks and junk from FARMS. I remember the blue BoM with Moroni on the cover. It had pictures of mesoamerican archeological sites and metal plates with writing. Now Mormons claim that their will be no evidence because God made it disappear. You can’t have it both ways. Claim that it scientifically true and then claim that magic made it disappear when there is no evidence and even worse, contradictory evidence.
I'm at 290 archeology now going for the vial like lots of ppl. Lots of guides say get 600+, go to Pandaria, bla bla bla. Is it that much better then BfA or Legion? Because it seems to me you can level anywhere in both BfA and Legion, get 8 skill points per dig, get the same "Restored Artifact" crates which you can turn in to a vendor for Tol'Vir fragments... what am I missing?
It seems I can't even see digsites on my map in Pandaria, pretty sure I went to train it there, but there is nothing. You are simple at xyz/950 skill. There is no more Pandaria skill, Legion skill, etc, just a big total of 950 points. So idk why I can't see digs in Pandaria but I think a few guides said get to 525 or 600+ first. OK I still have a while to go anyway. While I can't see digs in MOP for whatever reason, I can see them in Legion & BFA.
So I tried Kalimdor, flying around to digsites. 6 digs per dig site, then 5 points for a solve, pretty spread out. Chance at digsites in old Uldum, though, I had... keep reading on reddit ➡
I want to train Archeology as fast as possible with best items.
Whats the best items you need for archeology?
Send pictures, or you can just say the names.
Hall of Invertebrates
Hall of Vertebrate Zoology
Hall of Botany
Hall of Xenobiology
Hall of Paleontology
Hall of Geology
Hall of Prehistoric Peoples
Hall of Ancient Civilizations
Of course, you need not donate to every department, but the more the merrier, of course. We hope to hear from you soon!
Addendum: it has come to my attention that I have not been specific enough in our requirements. For the Halls of Invertebrates, Vertebrate Zoology, and Xenobiology, we will not accept live specimens above 10 pounds, as we lack the infrastructure to take care of them. We suggest you send them to our esteemed partner, the Zoo of the Worlds. Deceased individuals are still allowed and very much approved of.
Additionally, we and our associates have a strict policy of not allowing live sapient or semi-sapient species to be put on display. Tools or items made by them will go well in the Hall of Prehistoric Peoples. That being said, these items can only be s... keep reading on reddit ➡
I am following a philosophy course and I hope you could help me to understand this topic a bit better! I am very new to it and feel a bit overwhelmed.
To which extent does Foucault agree with Kant's transcendental question form and how does he deviate from this?
Is Foucault's archeology on human sciences the same as Cassirer on cultural sciences or is there a difference? Is it for Cassirer (in his concepts of nature and culture) the start of culture sciences more important or does the text mainly have a different goal?
I have recently returned to the game (not because of archeology) and I decided to finally give it a go since everyone has been giving the skill positive feedback. I have just reached level 52 (took me 2 days, around 10 - 12 hours).
I have seen guides that as soon you reach a certain level they advise you to switch excavation locations and carry on until 120. But, I have been sticking to each excavation site until I get all the relics needed for each collection, so at the moment I am excavating at a level 45 location instead of 51. My question is should I follow those YouTube guides and rush my level to 99/120 and then come back to collections or carry on doing what I am doing? Any advice what’s more effective?
I love this type of show but they never actually find anything and if they do it’s overhyped or something that indicates something already known. Time team and Monty Halls diving mysteries shows spring to mind as notorious examples.
I do not want to grab 3 little eggs for some title, I just wana go through archeology in peace, and when i look at screen at a message, I wana be hyped by an artifact, tome or compass piece, not 3 eggs.
Edit: peace not piece
Hello everyone. Im wondering if the ring of whispers works for arch? If so is it worth getting at lvl 94? I really dont wana do a bunch of quest to find out.
Okay so I have attempted this mission three times, trying to be as stealth as possible in order to get gold and get the trinket from Rains Falls, but no matter how quiet I am, one of the guards always hears me. Once I get heard, the guards will run around like lunatics indefinitely making it impossible to have another attempt at it. Anybody have an foolproof (emphasis on FOOL) strategies for this mission?

So I trained my first Archeologist in this run and went to excavate a site and after the unit did its thing, the turn button changed to "Choose Artifact". I can't press it or end my turn normally. I've tried moving him after forcing the turn with shift+enter and I've tried restarting the save and the game but to no success. I even tried to have him excavate another site, but the problem persists. Anyone know how to solve this or do I have to come to terms with the fact that I won't be having any artifacts this game? :(((
PS: The game is on steam and I don't have any mods or dlcs
I don’t mean this question to come off as theological in any way. Please forgive me if this question is really dumb; it’s a serious question.
All my life my dad had always told me that we found Noah’s ark in turkey, and that we found Egyptian chariots at the bottom of the Red Sea. I’m not really sure where he got this information, and I probably believed it when I was little, but now I’m curious where this information came from. And is there any truth to these claims?
I Just ran into a really bad Arch glitch that has caused my progress to grind to a halt. I was excavating in Warforge and collecting fossilised bones (among other materials) and was using the materials cart to deposit them. I went upstairs to try and repair some artifacts and it said I have 0 fossilised bones. I went back down and gathered some more and kept them in my inventory. I went to the Arch guild in Varrock and tried to deposit in that box and they wouldn't even deposit. I put them in my bank and then the next time I checked, they were gone from my bank and I checked my journal and still had 0 in my materials storage. I sent in a bug report but this is pretty bad so I thought I should post as well.
I kinda assumed it was meg but now i'm not sure at all. Pretty cool artwork by the way kinda reminds of old art work for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Just wondering if ppl did the same as me. I was retired and came back for Arch release to get max cape back, I always went to excavate the best possible artefacts available, bought chronotes to send best research team available on a 24 hours research, after a few hours excavating artefacts I ended up with loads of artefacts and hundreds of materials missing then I bought all materials to get that fast exp. I think it was a 120-160 hours grind and about 150m spent. how about u guys?
The meta will become saving up all your artifacts for dxp to use half the materials for double the gainz, big rip
I find training archeology very addicting and fun. I got an early copy of FF7 Remake on thursday, played it for few hours and found myself back on runescape training archeology. Tried some other games too, but nope. Still back here after few hours. Multitasking is a thing yeah, but when playing story driven games i want to focus 100%
Skill is almost perfect. Only thing i find negative is pylons. They're more of a stress at least for me than fun. Too scared to miss even one. Don't want to wait for my staff pieces until pylons are slowing down.
I always feel like this supposedly once huge island with many treasures never got me the feeling of ruins and ancient towns.
Maybe now with archeology the island of crandore should get its rework done ?
I understand the lands have been burnt to the ground by Elvarg. But weren't there caves, fortresses , that could have resisted ?
Is there any particular location or method that I should be using? And is there any location that's worth it more than others? Having so many levels to archeology is kind of daunting. And should I be solving the artifacts as I go? Or just wait? I'm just pretty confused about it
Also, having trouble understandung the Keystones
I’m training Archeology the cheap and lazy way. I will be 99 in 250 days according to my calculations. 1 minute a day.
Are there other skills that can be trained this way except of “player owned farm”. I do my dailies but it is not the same skill every day.
This was agaisnt the rules for a reason. For a decade jagex took an hard stance against having multiple alts farming resources for another account at the same time. Your two accounts werent even allowed to trade. It was againt the rules. From Jagexs own mouth for a decade, said it's not how the game is supposed to be played.
Playing the game next to people with 5 accounts farming st once, it feels bad. It feels unfair because it is. It's an online mmo where achievements are the main selling point. We shouldnt have to compete with people running 10 accounts. Its just a night and day difference for the people playing the game as it was meant to be played.
But Jagex seems to have gotten greedy and just want the subs. This is about the integrity of the game. Think about the people rushing for high scores. To compete, they basically have to have alts going. Is that REALLLYYY how we want to game to be played?
Classic rockstar fucking up their game slowly with “updates”. The single player has gotten far buggier as of recently but this one has been annoying me the most. In this mission you have to sneak into the army camp and retrieve the sacred items without killing any of the soldiers for Rains fall (I know you can technically just kill them but that’s not the way I want to play). With the mission there is a specific path you take to get the items which involves a guard going to investigate spooked horses so you can move, only now with the new update the guard gets stuck and infinitely walks so it’s impossible to do the mission stealthily. Its absurd what rockstar is doing to their game, have been encountering so many glitches like enemies spawning underground and teleporting, AI not working correctly for main story missions, invisible items like seamuses table and being handed invisible money for coach robberies, scripting issues, and much more that was never present in the game before. B... keep reading on reddit ➡
Doesn't seem like the show will spend too much screen time depicting the geology of the impact as it is happening, or maybe it could be another Ceres ice moment :)

Dogs are so cool!
>NYT / May 19, 2020
>Recent research highlights the power of the canine nose to uncover buried remains from ancient human history.
>By Cat Warren
>On a sunny summer day in Croatia several years ago, an archaeologist and two dog handlers watched as two dogs, one after another, slowly worked their way across the rocky top of a wind-scoured ridge overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
>Bodies had lain in beehive-shape tombs on this necropolis, part of the prehistoric hill fort of Drvišica, since the Iron Age. The two dogs, trained to detect human remains, were searching for scents that were thousands of years old.

So after a years of preparating my first arcology candidate 12 size planet clearing the last blocker uncovered an archeology site. Few odd statues standing in the middle of long forgotten forest? All righty lets take a look. After a brief investigation my scientist stated that they are made out of stange alloys never seen by my species. And thats where sh*t got creepy. Crew reports about being watched, my scientist run away in paranoia and getting list, which i invested a big deal of influence and energy credits to find, only to get a crippled sucker on a wheelchair with bashed head and -40 lifespan modifier. Well after another scientist put the sh#t together and allows me to finally destroy those statues they come alive and pull off some heaven-guarding-sin-redemption mumbo jumbo I dont really care about. They offer me protecting this planet if I let them stay, but that would leave one ugly tile blocker, so I had to say that I really need that land. Well to make it short, they turn i... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey guys, new to Arch (just hit level 60!) and I have a couple questions:
Is Dragon Mattock worth it? I have about 150M to my name, planning to spend most of it on Arch as I want my max/comp back
How do I get good Chrononotes? I can't afford my precision upgrades because I don't have enough.
What do you do with the dozen or to of all the artefacts you have? Can I turn them in individually or ... do I have to go farm a bunch?
Thanks so much, so far I'm adoring this skill!
Im trying to finish my zamorakian 1 museum collection, i managed to find the Drop rate for Imp mask (1/2000 according to google) but I’m not finding the drop rate on lesser demon mask.
Finding lots of greater demon masks, i guess you could say they have a.. greater drop rate.
Im not sorry.
Anyways any info would be great.
I’ve hit 92 archeology, is it best to hangout at the armarium debris and collect zarosian stein’s and zarosian ewer’s since they are significantly more cost efficient? Or is the xp per hour more efficient in the coming few spots?
So I just got back to this buisness wasting my life... but dont know what the fastest way is need some help. thx
At this moment I’m training archeology by daily sending out researchers.
I completed almost all the collections I can complete. But I need a lot more artefacts for the certifications...
What should I do?
14 year old from Brazil asking.
Hey guys, interested in playing fossils and archeology and was wondering what modpacks you guys would recomend that include the mod.
I was running Mecha'thun Warlock with quest and played 0 cost Defile into Dollmaster Dorian, Plot Twist.. and my Cataclysm still cost 4 when drawn so I lost the game. Do the 0 cost spells drawn from the hero power not count towards Kael'thas effect? Bugged?
Its still to small of a sample size to say for certain, but given what these numbers show we can make a few Conjectures.

I actually have very few problems with this skill tbh, most of my major gripes have been patched by our wonderful ninja team and main dev team this past month or so. One problem i still have though, is how many broken artifacts you get, and how much bank space they inevitably take up. Archaeology requires a lot of component materials to restore even the most basic of artifacts, as a result if you're low on bank space or planning mass restoration, you can end up with well over 50 bank slots devoted just to holding artifacts.
And, given more bank space costs bonds or real money to get, why not give us an upgradeable artifact storage we can buy for chronotes? start us at 5-10 slots free, then for say 5000/10000/20000/40000 expand that to 10-15/20-25/50 respectively
Throughout humanity’s history we find ourselves on a quest for places beyond our knowledge. From our ancient ancestors that left the plains of Africa to our modern efforts to put man on another planet, we venture into the unknown for adventure and discovery. I rest upon the precipice of my own knowledge against my wishes, the security of all I hold dear being my lone motivation. I find myself staring blankly at the computer screen before me, drifting off thinking my father may have left under similar circumstances, despite efforts to focus on the task at hand of passing my story off to the public given this is my last deed.
He was supposedly good man, my father, yet he left my mother to raise me alone before he saw my face or knew my name. Recent events lead me to believe he vanished due to powers greater than his comprehension, my mother professes he left out of anger, an argument between them that ended with a once good man becoming nothing more than a shadow. He never returned and... keep reading on reddit ➡

I found this article when searching for archeological evidence for mormonism.
Many of these seem to be not evidence for Mormonism, but counters to evidence against Mormonism. To me, the only compelling piece of evidence on the list was the altar at Nahom.
However, when fully examined, this does not constitute (IMO) convincing evidence. See here
"Although the actual location of NHM is plausible when compared to Lehi's purported route, his change of direction on the Arabian peninsula, the timeframe (~600 BC) matching the archaeological dates, and the ancient burial ground found there, one non-LDS author has suggested a valid reason why Nahom and NHM may not represent the same location"
What we really have from these evidences is that some parts of Mormonism are plausible, but there's no compelling evidence that they... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey everyone. Now that PTS is up and running I was excited for the two new features Scrying and Archeology. Unfortunately the ingame tutorials are really really bad. So I made a tutorial myself going over the basics.
Keep in mind, I´m no professional youtuber, I got no good hardware so the quality might be ... sloppy.
Some more info:
To start Scrying and Archeology go to Solitude on the PTS. Near the thieves den is a flyer that will start the quest.
Archeology is bugged for some players. Even when you sucessfully do the scrying and move to the highlighted position you will not see the mound and thus cannot do the archeology part. I have no idea how to fix that bug. Abandoning quest and restarting the game are not helping if zonechat is any indication. So if you´re stuck at that part - its a bug!
