Aramid Carbon Fiber Cases from Ali express
Has anyone used these before? I can't see how the latercase or Pitaka are worth double the price when they look almost exactly the same.
I tried to go looking for the "heat-resistant aramid-weave fixer shirt" a unique legendary shirt part of the Fixer outfit, in its location near the Skyline East fast-travel point in Vista Del Rey. But the item is not in the place its supposed to be and i know the exact place its supposed to be. Does anyone know how to get it another way? Is it glitched? Anyone else have this problem?
Looking to sell a few items I do not use.
Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro 11" or iPad Air 4th Gen (works for both). In great condition and comes with original box. Asking $115 shipped
Apple Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad 7th or 8th Gen and iPad Air 3rd Gen (works for all 3 generations). In very good condition. Comes with keyboard only. Asking $75 shipped
Mous Limitless 4.0 Aramid Fibre case for iPhone 12 Pro Max. This is a highly rated case and it is the latest version that supports MagSafe. I got it directly from Mous the other day, opened the box, tried it on my phone but then took it off since I just prefer my old case. This is as-new, open-box. Retails for $75, asking $60 shipped
Please PM me if you have any questions. Not really looking for any trades at this time. Thanks for looking!
I really dislike the way LaterCases are covering the camera "hump", especially now that Samsung has given it such a cool looking finish! So I went back to EBay and got this one for ~$23USD. Super thin and feather light, plus nice and grippy. I recommend putting it on by inserting the bottom of the phone first and the plug and speaker ports have very thin connectors, if you get one.... and you should- I'm loving this case!
Also, I finally got my skins from SlickWraps! I know some Redditors were concern they had turned into a "scammer site", and so had I. Especially after a few attempts to get info on my order since I never received a conf email or anything noting my order- even after my card was charged. Unfortunately I took action and had the charges reversed after waiting over 30 days. I'm happy to say they ARE shipping orders, but not sure if I'll buy from them again unless they update their CS. Anyway, here's the first skin - a Titanium Honeycomb. I also got a Ti-Metalic and Matte Clear as well a a few cool ones for other phones- it was a big-ish order which is why I feel a little bad about the charge back (edit: I've emailed my CC to see if it can be reversed). Looks, fits and feels pretty nice!

iPhone 12 mini 256GB : $820 shipped
Mous Case: $30 or free with the phone. This case is bulky for the mini. Just a friendly reminder.
(I have dozens of confirmed trades at r/hardwareswap, a few at r/MouseMarket, r/mechmarket, r/AVexchange)
The phone is still under Apple Care + until Feb 23rd. (Monthly Apple Care plans are not transferrable AFAIK) Still under normal 1 year warranty though. ( At least through this year). "AppleCare+ for iPhone includes up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months. " I didn't use any incidents for this replacement just FYI.
Just try to be as transparent as possible here so I will tell you that:
1.This is a direct replacement unit under Apple Care + express replacement from Apple. I think it was exactly the same as brand new retail unit. Got screen protector on the first minute I got the it and case on the second minute. 100% battery of course. Absolutely mint unit. Will come with all the original retail box and accessories. I didn't use any
#What is aramid fiber? I don't know, please go look it up and be mindful of marketing.
Synthetic materials like carbon fiber, fiberglass, composite, aramid, kevlar, etc are just fun names for the same concept. You take strands of something really strong in one aspect but catastrophically fails if twisted or sheared or rubbed against itself. That's why you lay out all the fibers in certain directions then glue them in place and hope the glue prevents situations where the fibers are weak.
When you see aramid, think amine-based (nitrogen). Carbon alone (like in carbon fiber) blocks radio frequencies so no-go for phones. Nitrogen helps the fiber form similarly strong chains without RF obstruction that pure carbon sheet linkages cause. From what I've read, aramid is closer to kevlar but doesn't require the same tension for strength. Being 0.7mm thick, it's definitely not protective and you should only think of this as an alternative skin. From what I've read, the shock absorption is somewhere between glass and plastic. You are def getting worse drop protection than any real case.
Ordered 2/7, received 2/26 (19 days, if math hard). I didn't take a picture of the box, but think fauxfiber-wrapped cardboard with foam inside. Sturdier than your Amazon package, closer to particle board tbh.
I paid $26 on aliexpress and would not recommend it. I like the slim case but need a lip. I don't lay my display face down but still ... I love the rear, the button cutout is tolerable, and the lack of lip is a dealbreaker.
Texture: the plastic feels amazing. Soft and grippy enough. My XPS 13 9360 has 1/10th the texture and is grippier. I have no complaints about the texture or grip and would not adjust either. It can be slippery for those concerned about that.
Finish: Minor variation/bumps at the corners. In general, straight lines are cut perfectly while rounded edges have small imperfections (<0.5mm). If you're struggling to see it in the photos, trust your eyes. I chose the camera cover variant for piece of mind (also comes in no-top/-bottom or camera-cut-out or both). You can see that small space, which I really don't like. I can feel the case creak a bit in that... keep reading on reddit ➡
So I received the Aramid case from OppoMobiles (Actually was good service but their online tracking system is broken - shows order in progress when it was already despatched).
Anyway so I've tried the case out and I dont feel like it gives enough protection at all
Its meant to have 'raised' edges for protection for the camera and screen but it looks pretty much flush to me - very little if any protection.
The case itself fits really nicely though and feels great in the hand.
It also looks stunning but sadly just doesnt appear to provide enough protection.
I've ordered some other cases from amazon that should arrive today so ill test them all out and feedback
Just seen on Samsung.com the case is back in stock! Hopefully the delivery times are not bad.
I picked this up during one of the main missions and I'm baffled by the stats on it. It says it's increasing my armour by 10,685.
Does anyone know if this is a bug? As by my logic with armour that high I will be wearing it forever. Nothing else I've picked up has over 60 armour! But I have noticed my armour stat with it on is only 253, so something isn't adding up.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Battle of the folds! Enjoyed what Surface Duo and Galaxy Z Fold2 had to offer but I am back to my iPhone. All of these electronics were bought for my personal use and as you can imagine, one person cannot put a lot of use on so many cutting edge products.

Not exactly iPhone related per se, so sorry mods if I can’t post this here, but I’d like to get a Mous case for my new iPhone 12 mini. I am a huge fan of pop sockets though and feel like I can hardly use my phone without one. Has anyone bought either the aramid fiber case or speckled fabric case from Mous and tried to stick a pop socket? If you have bought these products anyway I’d love for you to tell me what kind of texture they have so I can work out if it will work for me. If not I will likely go with a rhino shield mod case.
Hey guys, I received my Aramid case yesterday and although it does looks nice, it also seems a bit too slim. Has anyone tested the durability/shockproof properties of the aramid AKA kevlar material of this case? I really like the fact that it's slim but would it really make any difference if I dropped the phone with this case on? I'm still waiting for my custom hinge phone (black/red). I'm not too fond of most of the unofficial/Chinese cases out there. I'm thinking of just slapping a white stone dome glass on this phone along with the aramid case. I have already bought the National Geographic case too. Thanks!
P.S. No need to mention the fact that it is overpriced or that it doesn't protect the front screen 😉
