Antarctica Followup

Alright kids, I got the followup for you. And before I begin, a big fuck you to the pogs who if they even deployed probably never left the wire who bitched at me about my comment regarding leaving my family. I've deployed several times, if you think for a second that leaving for Antarctica is the same as a war, you're just dumb. Not much else to say there. I hope that what actually happened to me makes all of you who said that extra salty. I need it for my fries, you bitches.

As most of you guessed, it was a goof. I hate the fucking cold and because I actually got orders to some fucking Air Base in Seychelles, my friend was feeling extra salty and played a prank on me. Looks like my family will come too, so I have little to complain about now. No idea about Seychelles, but from the few pictures I took a look at it looks fucking nice.

That's all, enjoyed the ride. Didn't expect to log back on to literally 500 fucking messages.

Some other guy got orders to go, apparently. The orders number looks a lil funky, but whether it’s real or not, it’s making me want to go.

That said, how would I find out if the duty station is MOS-restricted? Can I put in a request to go down there? Or do I just have to pray that I win the powerball?

I’m pretty new to the Army, so I’m not totally sure how PCSing and duty stations work yet (sorry!)

One thing people ignore about Flat Earth argument is the secrecy of Antarctica.

So I'm not a flat earther, but I've watched some videos and they do bring up some good points. Why is Antarctica so heavily guarded and why are only high level security clearance military allowed to go?

One thing that a lot of moon hoaxers point out is that the Nazi scientist who led the US in the space race had apparently gone to Antarctica shortly before the first men set foot on the moon, and they allege that since moon rocks had been discovered in Antarctica, that that was the reason the man went, to gather the rocks as more proof that we went to the moon.

Also think about it this way, if humans can travel 238,000 miles to the moon back in 1969 with the technology they had back then, why can't humans in 2020 just send out one of their super high tech drones into Antarctica to see what's really there? Seems kinda weird.

Africa (The Middle East is not African as some people may believe, it's in Asia)

Europe

AMA from an IT Specialist with the US Antarctica Project

Mod approved.

I am just testing the waters here. I am usually bombarded when I mention my career so I thought this would be a great experience for some.

I’ll be doing the AMA today, if this is something the community would like and I’ll answer questions throughout the day. No messages, just utilize the comment section.

I am an IT Specialist who is contracted to the US Antarctica Project and I work on Systems that support ATCs and Meteorologists. I am preparing on heading down in August for my first season and will do an AMA when I get back to answer questions about life and IT on the ice.

Edit: all done guys. I’ll answer a few more questions and then I’m bouncing. I’ll be sure to follow up in February! I am going to be blogging my journey so feel free to PM me for that info.

you now have the choice to pick one country from each continent (exclude Antarctica if you want) and you will get a fully paid complete tourist tour around the country, what countries do you pick?

continents:

North America (Central America and the Carribean are North America btw)

South America

Africa (The Middle East is not African as some people may believe, it's in Asia)

Europe

Asia

Oceania (Australia, NZ and The Pacific Island Nations)

edit: also why did u choose those countries?
