Please tell us a little bit about what dubbed shows you've been watching for the past couple of weeks, or currently watching right now. Old or new, as long as it's dubbed we'd like to hear about it.
Anything good we should look out for? Anything bad we should try to avoid? Tell us a little bit of what you think. It's nice if you elaborate a bit on what it is you like or don't like about a show. That way your comment is useful to people who are looking for new anime to watch. :)
Writing the names of the anime in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names.
Since this is also for people who are looking for new shows to watch, please use the spoilertag if you reveal any mayor plot points of the anime you are discussing (see spoilertag section in the sidebar for info on how).
To prevent low effort comments to steal the spotlight from people who put in a little bit more effort **top level comments in this thread must be at least 150 characte... keep reading on reddit ➡
What does it mean? Is it a thing in Japan same with the "x" thing? (Like when they name a collaboration "A x B")
As the title suggest, come up with the most honest title for an anime. You can include the name of the actual anime or have people guess it. Have fun!
Online anime discussions seem obsessed with individual anime: there can only be one best anime (and it’s Rakugo, fite me irl). But rather than focusing on specific anime, could we look at what binds them together? I’m talking about anime fans. No anime fan watches only one anime, they watch lots, so if we chart the fandom overlap between anime we could how different anime series group together. Do they group together based on source material? The type of genre? The release date? Let’s find out!
I also posted this here where I can embed images in the post and I think it's a little easier to read.
#The Analysis Process (skip this section if uninterested)
First, we need some data on anime fans. Fortunately, we don’t need to conduct an extensive survey, anime fans are happy to publicly catalog their tastes on sites like MyAnimeList.ne... keep reading on reddit ➡
I'm basically quarantined for the next month (time for recovery + time to no longer be a carrier) and my grandparents might be in great danger.
Nothing has ever cheered me up like anime (from memory) but I never felt depressed enough to really dive into them too much.
I'd like to catch up on the anime world not only for the upcoming month but for later, because I'm fearing the worst and I want something to fall on if that ever happens.
I'm looking for Anime that have always cheered you up. Anime that made you feel in a trance in the period you were watching, be it love, bliss, peace of mind.
Unique ones are preferred.
I used to work full time at an anime shop that also served as a local hangout for many of our communities anime fans. When someone pictures an anime fan, they usually have a specific image in mind. To sorta break the stereotype of what constitutes an anime fan, I thought I'd share a list of customers that blew those expectations out the window.
The Symbol of Peace: In addition to anime merchandise we also sold coffee. Every day a police officer would come into the shop, buy a coffee, and look through our "My Hero Academia" merchandise. I couldn't tell you how many All Might figures she ended up buying.
Never Too Old for Ouran: To be fair, usually when an elderly person walks into our shop, they were often looking for gifts for other people or there to ask what "an anime" was. This woman in her 70's or 80's however, squealed when she saw the Ouran Host Club bag that we had on the wall. She explained that Tamaki was her favourite and that she needed to show "support for her boy."

TL;DR: The savior of the anime industry in the Chinese virus crisis was supposed to be Korean animation subcontractor, but as Japan and Korea have mutually bannes visa-free travel, it become impossible to ship the works to Japan and thus it's all over.
Japanese government have terminated all visa-free travel from Korea and China and have also cancelled all issued visa, due to the coronavirus. Korean government deemed such restriction unacceptable and decided to reciprocate Japan's measure as retaliation, thus banning all visa-free travel from Japan and also ceased effectiveness of all visa issued to Japan, virtually halting all travels between Japan and Korea. (And because Chinese cities like Shanghai have already started quarantining all travellers from Japan, the situation between Japam and China is also similar)
Because overseas subcontracted works of anime are delivered back to Japan by le
