In your Eberron, how rare is air travel?
In mine I'm assuming that, since it's so new and soarwood so rare, there aren't many ships/pilots, and it's easy for House Lyrandar to keep tabs on them all. But this means airship piracy is basically impossible, and anyone operating outside the auspices of the House would be *very* noticeable.
I have one dragonmarked airship smuggler, but he's got a complicated backstory wherein his family banned him from Sharn and he can only dock there secretly, through the machinations of the Boromars. (The idea of "secretly" docking an airship in a city is probably a little farfetched, but so far my players haven't balked.) It's helpful to me that this makes airship travel less accessible since I'm a new DM and want to make sure I have some lead time on the PCs' travel plans, but it also limits any eventual stories onboard an airship, since the skies are pretty empty.
How do you all address this?
