I love the atmosphere at an airport
Airports give me so much pleasure for some reason. I love to see other traveling people and hear them speak different languages. Traveling makes me so happy and airports are just awesome because i become so thrilled. I love to grab a drink from a café and just walk around the airport while waiting for the gate to open. Being at the airport is at its best when it's late evening and there's not many people. It feels sort of odd but also calming.

I’m Lee Carter, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and the only openly socialist state legislator in the South. I just passed legislation to limit insulin co-pays and to guarantee that more airport workers are making a living wage. Ask me anything!
I don’t come from a typical background for a politician. I’m not a doctor, a lawyer, a realtor, or a retiree. I’m an electronics repairman with no college degree, who got hurt on the job and decided to run for office to help fix Virginia’s workers compensation system. I’m on my second term in office, and I’ve spent the last three years fighting to make the Commonwealth of Virginia a place where wealth is truly common – where everyone can live and work, free from worry about how they’re going to put food on the table, how they’re going to pay the rent, how they’re going to see a doctor or put their kids through college, or whether or not they’ll be discriminated against based on who they are, who they love, or who they were born to be. We’ve made a lot of progress this year, but there’s still a ton of work left to do. You can follow me on facebook at facebook.com/leecarterva or on twitter (my personal favorite) @CarterForVA. 3500 rental cars ablaze at a Florida airport
Going to the airport really early morning was the fucking coolest
I remember the long car rides where I would just play my ds or listen to youtube and the night sky would make it really dark and the wide open space in the airport combined with the beautiful night sky is too good for humanity. Plus the idea that you're about to go on a badass vacation stuck in your mind which made even going to the stores in them exciting
ILPT If you’re being chased by police helicopters drive towards your nearest airport.
Helicopters can’t fly in restricted air space, which all airports have around a mile radius around them. Now this won’t help you get away from the ground units. But if you drive fast enough most cops will stop the chase to try to preserve public safety. Once you get close abandon the car. Walk to the airport and grab or call a cab, don’t run or walk away police ground units will still be searching.
It’s worked in San Diego for a motorcyclist, once in Florida with a stolen car, and I’m sure there’s been other instances but those hit the news.
It’s not a foolproof plan, especially if the cops realize where your going but if your desperate it’s your best bet.
EDIT; So there’s been a lot of good points brought up by some people with a lot of experience.
I’d just like to state, that most likely this is not something that will always work, there’s a decent chance the criteria for success for something is pretty low. I mostly wrote this cause I thought it was a funny, and surprisingly su

LPT: Before traveling anywhere, always download an offline map of the area. It will save you a ton of nerves in case the wi-fi is weak or you can’t buy local SIM on the airport or upfront.
Also, buying an e-sim card upfront is always the best option.

On September 3rd, 1999 a car crash on Highway 401 in Ontario resulted in an 87 car pileup. The pileup caused the deaths of 8 people and a further 45 injured. The Windsor Airport Observation Station failed to report foggy conditions on the day of the crash and thus no fog warnings were issued.

Cast: Me: an airport IT Field Engineer, Karen in a black dress sandals and no mask (this was today5/24/2020) and 2 large handbags
Me: Heading to terminal from Administration building and Sees lady that looks like a lost passenger and decides to chime in
Ma'am the terminal is on the other side of this garage.
Karen: But I need to get to Southwest. My flight leaves at 07:15
Me: You'll be lucky to make it. It's on the other side of the Garage and across the street. If you go to the counter they'll help you rebook your flight.
Karen: But that doesn't help.
Karen storms off downstairs to her car and drives to the other side whilst my collegue and I walk over to our service call in the terminal. Fast forward to approaching the bridge to the terminal. Karen starts running
Karen: You could have helped!

Early one morning a fat kid was sitting in an airport terminal eating a giant size candy bar.
An older man strolled by and saw the boy.
He stopped abruptly and asked "Hey kid, do you think it's a good idea to be eating a giant candy bar for breakfast?"
The boy replied "I don't know, but my grandpappy lived to be 102 years old."
The old man said "I'm sure he did, but he didn't eat giant candy bars for breakfast did he"
The boy shook his head "Nope. he just minded his own fucking business."
The reason I quit my job at the Airport
I started my new job at Will Rogers Airport, I say new job but I was really just moved to a different airline and working in the same ramp agent position. Now, I have to tell you that I have a crippling fear of heights and my least favorite part of being a ramp agent is when I have to climb in the cargo bin on a rear loading plane because it's about 20 feet above the ground. This particular night was a strange mix of a few factors creating an uneasy feeling. The first ambiance setting condition is it was raining, not just light raining but pouring rain with a few scattered lightning flashes and random power surges.
Every now and then we have dead bodies transported in the cargo bins, this was one of those occasions and tonight was my lucky night apparently because my manager told me I was throwing this plane. ("throwing" meaning I was pulling the cargo out of the bin). It was the last plane for the night and wasn't very much Cargo beside the body, my coworker john pulled the ramp loa
