Air pressure, what do you run your tires at? Do you slightly under air for comfort?

I was away on extended travel and had not driven the M3. When I returned I noticed that The ride was more pleasant and smoother. Plush but still responsive.

That’s when I noticed that my air pressure was down to 35-36 psi in each tire. After a day of driving it like this, I’m actually considering leaving it there despite the TPMS warning icon.

Wisdom teeth just removed, Dentist said if I was very cautious I could continue to smoke, as it’s the air pressure not smoke that gives Dry Socket, to anyone’s knowledge here how correct is that?

To add a bit more information here, I’m very aware of dry socket and desperately do not want to get it, but the pain from the removal is pretty annoying and I’ve only got 800mg Ibuprofen to help. I have some dab that I initially planned to just not touch for a week to be safe anyways, but when I went in to get the teeth removed this morning my dentist’s assistant mentioned that if I were smoking out of a bong if I just pulled very lightly I’d be okay. To be clear she probably assumed I was smoking flower and not dab though, I never mentioned it myself. So now I’m just not sure despite initially planning to just not smoke anyways. Anyone have any further knowledge?

I was trying to explain air pressure to my 6yo this morning...if the air pressure is determined by the height of the atmosphere above us, is the atmosphere or edge of space higher above the surface of the earth where we have locally higher pressure? I guess elevation of the land being the same.

I'm working on a sci-fi setting, so in my worldbuilding project there are many worlds that need to be made. I'm having issues understanding climate/biomes as every guide relies on ocean/air currents with air pressure and similar. Is there a fast and dirty way of setting up biomes and climates?

Rough is good enough for me at this point, I'm just not understanding the explanations for how ocean/air currents are, or how I should necessarily place them. Especially as it seems a lot of guides tend to skip over how they get to a certain point (pressure zones, rainfall?) I feel I can understand it, given enough time... but honestly that's not enjoyable and I want to get back to writing history and species details. I'm looking for a rough guide to get climates and biomes placed while still keeping immersion (avoiding tundra -> Rainforest), as I can always come back later and really nail down the biomes without the issue of single biome planets.

Does my Philips Dreamwear full face start leaking in middle of night because the pressure has increased? I have no issues with it when I first get in bed. But hours later, I’ll start waking up from air escaping.

My only explanation is the ramp? Is that what it’s called? The pressure increasing. I really like this full face setup that doesn’t go over bridge of nose, but this leakage is sucking.

What happens to the temperature of air as pressure increases?

I don’t know why but I’m having trouble finding an answer on Google, some sources say they have an inverse relationship while others say they don’t. What I’m wondering is if air is compressed (in atmospheric conditions, not a vacuum, if that makes a difference), will the temperature of the air increase or decrease?

Pressure drop due to a fan fanning air into a rectangular obstructions / long grill

Hi there,

I have a fan inside a box, and its air flow is obstructed by removable trays.

SKETCH:

https://imgur.com/a/yXDgXZ8

How do I calculate the pressure drop if I know the dimensions of everything, and know the fan's air flow rate?

Here's the approach I've taken so far:

  1. Find the total open area between the trays A (m^2)
  2. Calculate the velocity of air through the tray gaps. I assumed flow is divided equally into each gap. The velocity will be higher in the gaps due to the trays reducing the frontal area
  3. Find the hydraulic diameter of the rectangular gap (D = 4 * Area of a gap / Perimeter)
  4. Determine the Reynolds' number
  5. Find the Darcy-Weisbach friction factor
  6. Find the pressure drop across the gap

I'm not convinced this is the correct method.

Is there a way to calculate the pressure drop due to air flow across a rectangular surface?
