So I’m a dental assistant for a private practice. Let me just preface this by saying, most of our patients are wonderful people. Friendly. Happy to see us. Respect our professional opinions and recommendations etc. But literally just like 3 hours ago, I had the biggest Karen, in for what should have been a simple appointment.
So when we do crowns (or caps as some people know them as) we prep the tooth beforehand, and take an impression. Then that impression goes to a lab, and the techs there make the crown. It takes 2-3 weeks for them to send the crown back.
When we deliver the crown to the patient, the doctor and I try the crown in first to see how it fits. It is VERY rare that it fits perfectly. We almost always have to make some adjustments. Shaving down the crown here and there, checking the space inbetween the teeth, checking the bite, etc. All of this is standard. The main thing we use is called “articulating paper”. When the patient bites down on it, we can see heavy blue markings where the bite needs adjusting. The more we adjust, the lighter those marks get, and even stop marking altogether sometimes.
Most exchanges with the patient are like this: “How’s it feel?” “It’s a little high” “Ok we’ll adjust that.” *We use the articulating paper. Then grind the crown down a little. “How’s it feel now?” “Oh feels much better” “Ok cool let’s cement it in” This takes maybe 5 mins AT MOST.
This lady we had tonight was having none of it. Us: “How’s it feel?” Karen: “Ugh it’s way off.” Us: “Ok we’ll adjust it. How’s it feel now?” Karen: “The same.” Us: “Ummm, really? No change?” Karen: “The same.” Us: “Ok no biggie, let’s adjust more”
We did this maybe for 5 mins, over and over and she kept insisting that it was exactly the same. No change. Even though the marks were gone at this point, meaning that her teeth were no longer even touching the crown.
At this point we had a couple options which the doctor presented to her. Doc: “Ok well I can keep adjusting the crown, the only issue is that if I keep reducing the porcelain on top, the metal underneath might end up showing. Are you ok with that?” Karen: “No.” Doc: “Ok well then I need to make a small adjustment to the tooth above this one, so that they don’t touch. It’s very superficial.” Karen: “No! Don’t touch my other teeth!” Doc: “We do this all the time ma’am. It doesn’t harm the teeth. We’re basically just polishing it.” Karen: “No! That’s a lie! If you guys did it correctly the first time, you w... keep reading on reddit ➡
There’s been a lot of discussion in regards to Jail / Stall builds and our mentioned change so we wanted to clarify a few things. As of now, we’re holding off on making this change until we can address some issues that you’ve already raised..
First off, we want to thank everyone who provided constructive feedback on the thread and we agree that we need to look into the crafting materials drop rates in Save the World. We’re aware that one of the reasons that Jail builds are so effective relates to how cost efficient they are at managing high-level Husks, especially in the late game where modifiers come into play. With that being said, we’re going to be taking a deeper look into the overall accessibility of 5-star materials at the top end of Twine Peaks. Overall, we want to make high end materials easier to obtain to coincide with the adjustments to jail / stall builds.
We also want to discuss why we’re making changes. Being able to AFK / Stall out a mission by preventing Husks from spawning is something that we need to address as it’s a bug and an unintended outcome. These build types will still be strong as we’re going to be introducing diminishing returns on crowd control effects; which means that Husks can be crowd-controlled a number of times before becoming immune to crowd-controlled effects. You’ll still be able to use these traps for their intended purpose, which is keeping those Husks at bay; but not fully completing the mission solely on those methods.
Finally, We agree that Husk scaling at the top end can be difficult and specific modifier combinations are not fun to play against. We want to look into some of the modifiers and environment damage to make sure they aren’t over-tuned and potentially make them easier to manage. Some of these interactions, like Nurse Husks healing other Nurses for example, is something we also want to address.
We don’t have an ETA on the mentioned changes but we’ll be sure to mention them in the Homebase Status report when they are live.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed to this discussion.
I remember Bob Myers had a great line about how the regular season is about utilizing your players' strengths while the playoffs are about exploiting the opponents' weaknesses. Having the basketball IQ to remember and adjust to the opponents' set plays and player tendencies also start mattering a lot more in the playoffs as you play another team consecutively at least four times, rather than the constant churn of the regular season.
Despite all of the above being common knowledge, these irritating narratives about "shrinking in the playoffs" still exist, while the reality is that all such cases can be accounted for by looking at matchups, adjustments, and weaknesses.
For several years, Kyle Lowry was dubbed as one of the "Trash Brothers" as the Raptors consistently came up short in the playoffs. The truth is that to win a championship, at least two perennial all-nba contenders are pretty much a requirement. DeRozan is great but he's just too limited defensively and offensively to ever be the 2nd option in a championship team. The Raps put Lowry in a position to win by pairing him with Kawhi in 2019, and he really started thriving. All "Trash Bro" references have been erased from our collective memory, but Lowry himself really didn't change as a player.
PG-13 has earned the moniker of playoff choker as well in recent years. Granted, he invited the hatred himself by coming across as arrogant in his interviews and predictions, but in averaging 27 PPG in the playoffs, he most definitely is not a choker. He has an extremely reliable jumpshot, a smooth dribble, and is a versatile defender. However, he lacks playmaking abilities and doesn't have a really high bball IQ. In the playoffs, teams know this and plan for this. For instance, he loves to go for an off-the-dribble 3 immediately after coming around a screen. He doesn't react well to defensive adjustments though, and this can be exploited in the playoffs as his passing is limited when the proper on-ball pressure is applied. BuT He HIt thE SiDE BOarD and ChoKEd vS tHE NuGgETs. Yeah, he also had a comically bad pass last night while going 13-18 to amass 33 points to lead the Clips to victory.
People love to hate on Harden as well for his playoff performances The truth is that the Rockets are playoff opponents that nobody would be happy facing in the last few years, and they nearly beat one of the strongest teams in NBA history in 2018 before coming up just short against the Warriors. Harden needs an all-n... keep reading on reddit ➡
After much thinking and discussion, the mod team has decided to make an adjustment to our rule concerning artwork. We know this is one of the most contentious topics on the sub and hope the change will be helpful for everyone involved.
Artwork will now be permitted only once per month per user. The previous rule was once a week. While we strive to provide a place for lovers of tarot to share their tarot-related imagery, this is not meant to be a repository for pictures. We strive to provide a place for discussion - whether that be from newer users learning more about tarot or seasoned veterans sharing their insight. There are plenty of other places on the internet to look at pictures.
To all those artists who push the limits of the rules without participating in any other way: this simply is not the place to promote your name, your brand, your idea, your artwork, your clothing, your paintings, your cards, or anything else. It does not matter if you have not printed the deck. If you have posted a new card from it every week, you have been promoting. Anyone who now posts artwork from their deck (or any other product, digital or otherwise) every month will have their posts removed and runs the risk of a ban. The promotional megathread exists for promotional content.
Users who wish to look at tarot artwork and are not interested in conversation are welcome to check out /r/tarot_art , a new sub. We are not affiliated with this sub, other than inspiring users who run afoul of our rules to make their own sub, but we do hope it helps fill the void.
The bottom line is that we will always put the needs of the sub above the needs of individual users. Any time we have sought feedback about the sub, the volume of art posts is brought up. We hope shortening the time frame available for these posts will help, but are always open to other ideas and suggestions. We want the sub to continue to grow and be a wonderful resource for learning.
Now that Jail building is going to be adjusted in future, this husks should get an adjustmen as well.
Healers: are already confirmed because it is indeed ridiculous how they heal themselves and other nurses. They should only heal husks.
Next one should be the Propanes huskies, they can still damage your B.A.S.E. through tier 3 mats + the obejective like Deliver the bomb for example. This shouldn't happen in the first place, I mean a wall is ment to protect, right?
Then, not everyone might agree, but Riot Huskies. Their shield/fridge door should break after the amount of damage it took, like it being able to never break is a bit annoying. I know you can use potshot or xenon bow but sometimes people doesn't always has this and wants to try a different loadout. Shooting through that hole can be hard and if you're using certain melee loadouts, you can't hit them through that hole. Only on their back if they don't turn around like the speed of light.
Lobbers their spawnrate should be reduced in missions and especially the ones who throws the skulls, like for example the second wave of Ride the lightening in higher zones can be a pain and they can just destroy everything in a matter of time as it literally rains skulls. Keep that spawn in SSDs but in normal mission should be reduced.
For people who are in plankerton have been struggeling for finding a Mimic. Their spawn rate is way to low for players in plankerton that they are stuck on th quest "What's in the box." Increase the spawn rate atleast to 50% and not like 10% so players can progress in their storyline.
Beehive husks their bee contrail should disappear when are killed as it stay there way to long and in pl132-160 drains you health very fast which is at times very annoying. Same for the Lobbers who throws beehives.
Then everyones favorite the Zappers! Their aimbot is getting really obnoxious in higher zones especially if they are with more then 3 + fire element and as they aimbot, you're pretty much dead in like 3-4 shots. Same for the Blasters, like what is the point they never miss? This is ridicolous as zappers and blaters are always togethere and lasers you without missing. Look at the other mode, those Ai's aren't always aimbotting either so their aimbot should be reduced.
Last but not least are Patrols. I understand there needs husks to be killed as it is the point of the game but do patrols really need to spawn every 30 seconds when... keep reading on reddit ➡
Before the November election, state judges were able to order state election officials to make adjustments for COVID-19 -- stuff like extending deadlines, opening more early voting locations. I agree that this was a good idea because we should prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Is there a name for the legal concept that gives judges this authority? What's it limited by?
I appreciate Riot wants Valorant to go Brr, but for 3 seasons, having completed every daily and weekly, and it still not being enough to complete the battle pass...Can't think of any other game where you complete every task set by the game, only to not finish the pursuit you had to pay for?
Notice you keep getting this message: 'If you don't like it, just shut up and leave.'
That is because negative press in forums affects the bottom line. It makes players less likely to buy packs, it makes new players less likely to take up the game. If hearthstone has the reputation of that game the players all got pissed at because it is a giant rip off, then the bottom line suffers. Hearthstone is already down to 3.5 stars on the app store, we can tank it even further.
BLizzard, the community managers, the streamers (though some have at least commented) all have a vested interest in shutting you up. They are trying to call the people raising an outcry babies, toxic trolls etc. Blizzard is using the streamers as meat shields. Meanwhile, they are already adjusting the exp downward for an afk game of battlegrounds, used to net around 60 exp, now nets 13.
So now they just want to shut you up, they want to end the bad press, they want to end the negative comments, they want to end the low ratings. Don't let them get away with it. 1 star reviews with a truthful assessment why is a great place to start. Bringing up the discussion of how blizzard has ruined hearthstone on every outlet is the only way to force change. Quietly leaving has a minor effect. Loudly recomending that no one spends money can affect the bottom line and force change.
Hey y'all. I'll just cut to the chase.
I've been planning on starting my thru hike on febuary 23rd (2/23/2021). It's what I have registered on the ATC and what I've been mentally aiming at.
For financial reasons, I am considering changing my start-date to april 11th, (4/11/2021).
If I start in febuary, I'll have roughly $5,000 as my budget. But if I start in April, I'll have $9,000. Psychologically, I think that if I have more, I'll be more relaxed and stable. Originally, I was planning as spending as little time as possible in town and only re-supply for the bare essentials. But I also want to know what other people have to say with regards to this subject.
What would I be missing out on if I decide to shift my start date from febuary to april? Is there a fundamental difference in hiking experience? Is there something I should know or consider before making that decision? Besides winter conditions, march crowds, and mt. katahdin closing mid-october.
