I've seen a few big Destiny content creators getting mad and making fun of all the afkers, Gladd even went so far as to call us scumbags. There is a real reason we are doing this.
The power grind hasn't changed for TWO YEARS. Some people have the luxury of being able to play this game as their job, and others have so much free time that they can actually level up all 3 characters to the cap within like a week of a content drop. Then there's the rest of us.
I want to play Destiny. When I see new content, like a brand new dungeon, I get excited. But I am burned out with doing the exact same things I've been doing since forsaken just to get my power level up. I want to play the new stuff and spend my limited time playing the game I love doing the NEW STUFF.
In my opinion, the power grind should be completely taken out of the seasons. There is no reason for it other than to pad the game out. A big power spike e... keep reading on reddit ➡
I miss that damn screen so much. It was really cool seeing a cool shader drop or checking out the roll on an Eyasluna or Red Spectre as it dropped in crucible.
If we’re bringing the best of both Destiny 1 and 2 together this is definitely an aspect that I’d love to see return.
I know it gets a lot of love on here too. It’s a topic that keeps cropping up ever since D2 dropped.
I’m not saying it’s something that should happen now, just down the line at some point. I understand there are more pressing aspects.
There seems to be a lot of hate for it because people don’t like to see other players get cool stuff. Yes, it could reward lower placed players cool stuff but that happens right now! You just don’t see it.
People are worried about the toxicity that could come with it. Screw those guys, you got the awesome reward!
Edit: Thank you for my awards! ... Gold now too, thank you!
Damn this kind of blew up! I’ve turned of notifications and will let this run it’s cours... keep reading on reddit ➡
You’ve probably read some recent headlines on r/technology and r/news about the US Senate voting to allow the American government to continue spying on everyone’s Internet activity without a warrant. Unfortunately, it’s 100% true and it’s 1,000% awful. But we have a chance to stop it from happening. Support from tens of thousands of people across America convinced House leadership to schedule a vote on important privacy protections this Wednesday.
If you want to help save Internet privacy, you can visit SaveInternetPrivacy.org where you can send an email to your lawmakers asking them to save Internet privacy. You can also call Nancy Pelosi’s office directly 1 (202) 930-8115 and ask her to save Internet privacy by supporting the Wyden-Daines amendment.
There’s a lot of momentum behind this political movement. Tech companies like Reddit, Mozilla, and Twitter have all signed on to [an open letter](https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2020/05/22/protec... keep reading on reddit ➡
There is a big war going on in Destiny. Not Light vs Dark, But AFK vs Grinding.
I get why the power level grind is as it is. Its so people are always up to doing something in the game. They have something to chase, keeps them playing. I get that, and I think that is good.
However, when a new event people want to play is much higher light then they are, and they can't even complete it? it frustrates people, and then people are more inclined to do things like AFK farm.
Now, I am a casual destiny player. I have a job, and I play multiple other games too. Would I grind for hours on end just for a few levels and maybe do sliughtly better in the new event, or do I afk farm, and work on getting some Pokemon ready for the DLC dropping next week, or work on an event in Fate Grand order? I will pick the later, as I feel I acomplish a lot more that way.
Now, I see 1 perfect way to fix this: Do not have the public event be 1040 in the first week. Have the difficulty scale up every week as more... keep reading on reddit ➡
The only D1 Football game affected is Buffalo @ Northern Illinois, which will be rescheduled. Applies to practice as well.
I know it’s a bug that engrams are dropping higher than intended but not being limited by x number of power upgrades a week makes has made the game feel so fresh and makes me want to keep grinding like the D1 days. I understand that this will be taken away soon but bungie this style of levelling is much better than time-gating powerful drops
I understand why parks, museums, playgrounds, libraries, and Gymboree need to be closed. I understand it’s not a safe idea to take my 1.5 year old to the grocery store anymore.
But all of those things — getting out of the house to explore the world — were the things I liked doing with her.
I don’t like reading the same book over and over. I don’t like constantly cleaning up messes. I get so frustrated by the constant meltdowns.
We go on walks, we play games, we have tons of toys and books, and she has one kiddo friend we are in a quarantine bubble with. So it could be much worse. I know I’m incredibly lucky.
I just miss doing things with her. I miss being able to go to the children’s museum. My heart breaks when she cries when she sees the playground equipment she can’t go on. I miss being able to run errands with her just so she can have a change of scenery and enrich her world.
This is hard. Anyone else?
This is an open conversational thread to discuss the recent police murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, and the many others who have been needlessly killed purposefully and negligently at the hands of the police. While some subreddits have gone dark for 24 hours, and some are going dark for 9 minutes, we wanted to find a line that allowed us to allow space for our community to discuss this matter, but also time to reflect on the loss of life and injustice. With that said, we recognize that we are a unique community on Reddit, and we want to give space for the women (and anyone else) of this community to discuss this topic which is why we opted out of a 24 out blackout. Specifically, the 9-minute number was significant to our moderator team in the relevance for how long George Floyd was crushed under that killer's leg.
Please use this topic discuss Black Lives Matter, how you feel right now, what you are doing, or ways to offer support. Because of the open... keep reading on reddit ➡
Please direct any updates or discussion to this MT. Significant updates can still be posted as separate posts, but we do not need a post for every shower thought on this topic, nor everything tangentially related to the NG.
If you haven't noticed, there has been an obvious increase in posts/comments by individuals with zero history here in /army, generally to advocate for whatever their personal agenda is. We want to keep this open to all for comment, but particularly make it an appropriate place for discussion about the Army, and a place where SMs can discuss things amongst themselves.
With that thought in mind, we will continue to monitor the subreddit, and we weigh the variety of options/tools at our disposal, up to including a temporary privitzation of the sub depending on how flooded it becomes.
If you have questions or suggestions, send em. Otherwise, if you have updates/news if interest, people post below or PM me, and I will add it below.

It really bothered me when Maci & Taylor were like "Bentley has done this and this and this." And Maci adds in "He's not playing Playstation. How many kids are glued to an Xbox or iPad? Our toddlers don't even use the iPad."
Okay, Maci, chill out. You sound so holier-than-thou. It's really easy to have your son be in all these extracurricular activities when you have a lot of money and can afford the cost of joining, travel and equipment, also considering neither you nor your husband work and have all this free time to take him to practices and meets and weigh-ins.
Normal working class kids are "glued" to iPads and Xboxes because their parents can't afford the time or money it costs for extracurriculars.
So yeah. Idk this really rubbed me the wrong way. If Maci was a single mom without Teen Mom money I doubt this would be Bentley's lifestyle. She wasn't simply being proud of her son, she was disparaging other kids for not doing as much. You don't have to shit on others to be... keep reading on reddit ➡
I believe this is a great move by bungies, so you don't need to grind that one single public event the whole season. Now all we need is bounty system to be gone.
So I recently started playing this game, and for the most part I am really enjoying myself. The game is without a doubt very impressive. I especially love the raids, dungeons and strikes.
However, having started raiding, it is very confusing to me why raids have barely any exotics at all, when you can get exotics from very very easy quests. Usually in mmos, raids offer the best loot in the game, because they are usually the hardest content and requires a lot of setup to even attempt.
I also feel like more people would raid, if raids were the only way to get most exotics.
Heroic Public Events, the armor for Gambit Prime, and Strike Mechanics. Bungie needs to do a much better job of teaching newer players about these things.
Activating a Heroic Public Event can be so frustrating because for some of them you're literally racing against your supposed allies. Can you throw all four cryo bombs before your allies melt the boss? Can you damage the blight enough before your allies kill all of the Taken? Can you unlock all of the scorch cannons before your allies nuke the Spider Tank?
Playing Gambit Prime wearing the armor can be frustrating too for the same reasons, you're racing against your supposed allies to do stuff. Can you grab the motes before all three of your allies gobble them up like rabid dogs, leaving none for you? Can you invade before someone else hogs the portal? Can you withstand your allies shooting you in frustration for doing those things yourself despite the fact that they're literally your job?
Strike mechanics like The Corrupted's ball... keep reading on reddit ➡
so, i was just like reading this college admission blog (pls dont shat on me for doing that)
and basically the person just tiered the whole extra curriculars somewhat like this
tier 4 - nothing special, just a club member
tier 3 - got a leadership position or smtg
tier 2 - won some regional/state level awards
tier 1 - olympic level stufff
and tbh, its just really sad because tbh extra curriculars are supposed to be about showing passion and not how many gold medals a person can win. yeah sure, maybe if you come as a recruited athlete it matters, but like still
Seriously, I can't be the only one that absolutely loves this compared to previous seasons. For those who don't know, the Intrepid sets have returned and will be sold for dust throughout the season now that the Daito sets are in the new dungeon. If this is one of the steps being taken to reduce FOMO, I am 100% on board.
Edit: Been seeing a lot of replies saying how the set isn't good cause it's not an ornament that we can use, but hopefully if transmog goes over well, we won't have to worry about that anymore in a few months.
Is this just poor adaptation? In many sports - e.g. weightlifting, climbing - and work activities people need to chalk up their hands or wear tape or gloves for grip, purely to counter this crappy response from their body. I would imagine in a fight or flight situation, evolving humans needed grip much more than they needed a marginal amount of heat dissipation from their hands.
For example, going from shooting Sanctified Mind with a Izanagi to a Xenophage did not boost my level of enjoyment at all. I would have rather continued to use my Izanagi on new raid and NF bosses as that’s what I find enjoyment in. I know that the example of izanagi and xenophage is not an ideal one as this was a game balance issue rather than a sunsetting issue (especially as exotics will not be capped); however, I feel like it gives us a very solid perspective on what weapon sunsetting would look like later on beyond the fall expansion.
The GoS boss situation seems to give us a pretty gloomy peak into the future of the game where we get another GoS for an entire year except we have to use new weapons every season ( ie: the OP season of dawn weapon rolls will be capped after the first season of year 4). That wouldn’t be a problem in activities such as the raid that generally don’t see their light requirements go up every season, but this would definitely affect ordeal nightfalls fo... keep reading on reddit ➡
Post a selfie and be kind!
i self identify as a reckoner that hasnt been broken by the grind, i got my title in joker wilds before they made some things easier for the whole playerbase, i have 1.0 armor rolls that i spent WAYYYYY to much time grinding for, and armor 2.0 rolls that i also spent a ton of time girnding because bungie still hasnt updated the mote synth to be like menagerie, i have spent 200 hours of my life in gambit prime alone with 20 resets to my name. if using the armor i painstakingly grinded for eventually turns into my biggest disadvantage, then what was all that effort for in the first place??
This change, out of all the changes the game has gone through since i started playing in black armory, this one makes me feel like ive wasted my time playing this game.
~~also, if you grinding last wish or scourge(menagerie grinding was easy and enjoyable) for armament mods, the same logic applies, if any new end game content has those type of enemies, sure youll have infinite heavy, but youll be at... keep reading on reddit ➡
Respectfully, if you have attended a protest and test positive for COVID19 do elect to anonymously disclose when and where you have protested to the contract tracers. This is to ensure people at risk in the community can be notified and appropriately tested upon news they may have had contact with the virus. This action can greatly improve our ability to trace the virus and protect those most at risk in our lives, while preventing further spread of the deadly virus.
As I have stated before on this sub reporting anonymously to other outlets such as the local news, or via a text post on reddit can also greatly improve our ability to navigate this evolving situation, and provide the necessary information to prevent the spread of the virus.
Copied this question from askwomen, hope the OP doesn't mind.

Exotics and Special weapons need Champion mods. It heavily restricts your choice of weapons and builds.
Sure, I can use Surge Detonators in an Arc based class. But, now my team asks me why am I not using a Well or Tether. Now, I need Overload Rounds or switch back to my Arc based class (which is terrible in high tier PvE sometimes!). Or convince my team to use Champion mods (you’ll be surprised how many times people join a LFG for high tier content and don’t equip mods). I have asked team mates if they want to change gear (they have no mods). Their reply? “Nah I’ll be alright I think”. Guess how well they went? They couldn’t help us counter Champions. Back to orbit we go!
Also, I am not using Overload rounds on an Auto Rifle or SMG when it cannot keep up with the Champion’s unlimited teleporting. Overload Rounds probably shouldn't charge up while firing. It is so inconsistent.
What about swords????? They have Overload and Passive Guard. I want to use my Grenade Launcher??????????... keep reading on reddit ➡
Other details include the gift bonuses will be permanent and Go Battle League walking requirement will be phased back in.
With the first stage of the reopening process well underway, It got me thinking of certain things that I cannot see myself taking part in in the next several years at least until there is a vaccine.
Things like going to a concert, having a spa day, going to public swimming pools, getting a massage, going to a movie theater, even going to the gym is going to be difficult. I worry that by the time things go back to pre-COVID lifestyles, many of my favourite places will be out of business.
Anyone else in this situation? I would love to support these businesses but buying a gift card from a place that I won't be able to visit for several years just doesn't seem feasible to me.
I may be alone on this but going for it anyway. I see a lot of people posting their Strava activities here. I don't want this subreddit another Strava activity feed of people I don't know that are just driving more kudos. I think this subreddit should just be a meta discussion about Strava itself. Great example was all the discussion around the pricing changes.
I understand that not all rewards can be 75+ stat exotic God rolls. There is a place in the reward structure of this game for blue weapons and armor but at this point in my Destiny journey, I would much rather receive 10 or 20 Dusklight Shards as opposed to a blue Warlock Bond. I would love if there was an option to prioritize mats over blue armor and/or weapons as rewards for activities.
Edit: To be clear, I'm suggesting an option that allows players to choose to be rewarded with planetary mats over blues. Maybe even make it a Ghost shell perk. For most well established players, I think this would be preferable. Blues still serve a purpose for many and they should still be able to earn them.
Edit #2: A lot of you are saying we should just have auto dismantle which is fine however, I don't know about the rest of you but I don't need any more Gunsmith materials. I have stacks in my vault. What I use every day though, are planetary materials and glimmer. Those are necessary for endgame... keep reading on reddit ➡
