Since I’m a kid I’ve this attitude in front of my parent, I just don like it, am I overreacting?
My husband and I bought a house in a neighborhood with a really cliquish HoA and basically a bunch of people with young families who are a good decade older than we are (we're in our late 20s).
We've run into trouble with them twice in the past because of some parties we had in our backyard before things were closed. We weren't violating noise limits but I'll admit a bunch of drunk 20-somethings aren't really quiet.
The latest trouble with this HoA seems to be us enjoying our pool in the hot baking summer naked. We have been spending some afternoons swimming naked and drying off and sunbathing (my husband hates tan lines and so do I) right by our pool to dry off.
While it has some privacy, a few houses can peek into our backyard if they like. We hope they don't.
We got a text from one of the HoA secretaries who happens to be our neighbor telling us, and I quote: "We want you to be more careful about how you spend time by your pool and remember that this is a wholesome family comm... keep reading on reddit ➡
I listened to the Mad Fientist podcast for the first time this morning, and he had Cal Newport on.
The line that struck me: "The FIRE community underscores this point: We don't really need lots of relaxation. What we need is interesting, meaningful, hard activity."
My SO and I have been talking a ton about what we want to do after we hit FI (anywhere from 3-7 years depending on how well our business does). The common theme is that we don't want to do nothing. As a marketer, I have podcast and newsletter ideas I'd like to get off the ground. I've also considered trading my time (strategy calls and consulting) in exchange for donations to a charity.
Cal talks also talks about hard activity for its own sake, like Frugalwoods' homesteading or Mr. Money Mustache pouring concrete.
I wanted to pose this question to the community: what's the ultimate goal for your FI?
Cal seems to have found most of the FIRE community is focused on these hard, meaningful projects. But I know... keep reading on reddit ➡

The site is Tendiechart.com
Right now it tracks every option available for stocks in the S&P 500 and is updated hourly. unusual volume hourly also.
Working on adding hourly volume alerts right now.
Saving each unusual volume day so we can see history (10 day maybe) of the performance of unusual options.
Adding more stonks to track.
I've seen a few big Destiny content creators getting mad and making fun of all the afkers, Gladd even went so far as to call us scumbags. There is a real reason we are doing this.
The power grind hasn't changed for TWO YEARS. Some people have the luxury of being able to play this game as their job, and others have so much free time that they can actually level up all 3 characters to the cap within like a week of a content drop. Then there's the rest of us.
I want to play Destiny. When I see new content, like a brand new dungeon, I get excited. But I am burned out with doing the exact same things I've been doing since forsaken just to get my power level up. I want to play the new stuff and spend my limited time playing the game I love doing the NEW STUFF.
In my opinion, the power grind should be completely taken out of the seasons. There is no reason for it other than to pad the game out. A big power spike e... keep reading on reddit ➡
For context, the Republican Party's predominant demographic is shrinking, while it seems that the main demographic groups that traditionally support the Democratic Party are growing. The Guardian published an article claiming incumbent Republicans, through a variety of different means, are suppressing, diminishing or otherwise chilling voting rights among predominantly Democratic constituencies. Among the cases they use as examples include Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas. This article from Mother Jones makes a similar clai... keep reading on reddit ➡
Ok so this happened way before the covid stuff got serious. I used to attend these regular parties called “clothe swaps” where me and a bunch of other lady’s would show up with food and drinks and “herb” to share. So everyone pretty much knew it’s an all female, adult only party. A lot of the women had kids so it was a nice way for them to get a way for a night and have some fun. But the last swap we had, someone decided to bring their daughter (about 8 or 9) because she couldn’t find a babysitter or something like that. Ok that’s fine, there is an extra room just for kids in this particular house so we set her up with some stuff to entertain the little girl for a few hours. Well after about 20 minutes the little girl comes out and sits in the middle of the large group of women drinking, cussing, and smoking because she didn’t like feeling separated from everyone. but her mom won’t make her go back to the room, so everyone who is in the middle of smoking and having fun just awkwardly p... keep reading on reddit ➡
New Game + available an infinite number of times (a la Spiderman/Odyssey) is something I could live with.
But I'd also like to request as many times as it takes for this to be seen by you fantastic folks at Sucker Punch that I NEED the ability to reset the world's enemy activities infinitely as well.
Whether this is just a menu toggle after the main story has been beaten like Far Cry has implemented, or an actual feature baked into the post-story game (Like Shadow of War) that sees mongols trying to take back liberated territory just as an excuse for us to try out different approaches to combat and stealth, I would love either. Or a combination of both.
To me, the thing that makes the most sense is after the credits roll, (no spoilers) Jin already mentions he still needs to help the rest of the island out from mongol control.
Why not lean into this? Reserve it as a post-credits only feature that says "Congratulations, you have experienced the ending of the story. Now, refine yo... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hey everyone, I hope this is not a silly question. What I want to know basically if I can seriously consider body building while being a student and working full time as well. I'm very interested but unfortunately I can't afford to make working out my priority. I can go to the gym 3 times a week and work out for 2 hours maximum. Is the level of commitment I can afford now enough and I should just get informed more or am I dreaming?
Edit: massive thank you to all the lovely people who commented here, you have no idea how much your words inspire me!

> After performing a thorough investigation, we’ve identified that the Gallywix boosting organization has been taking part in gold selling for real money. Real money trading – also known as RMT – is a serious violation of our End-User License Agreement and is not tolerated, therefore we’ve begun taking action and have banned accounts in North America and Europe that were associated with this group and taking part in the real money trading transactions. > > These actions have primarily targeted the Gallywix organization so far, but our investigations are ongoing and additional accounts involved with running this organization may be banned in the future. > > **Going forward, accounts may receive actions if they are found to be involved in future t... keep reading on reddit ➡

This post is partly inspired by another post we had a couple of days ago concerning what activities you want to do besides combat in a monster tamer game and my comment on it, link at the end of the post.
If we look at the majority of popular singleplayer games in which we have some controllable character(s) in a world/area, the main activities that you are primarily doing in a lot of them is traversing the world and fighting enemies. That is of course not to say that there aren't whole genres like sports games in which this is clearly not the case. But taking a glance at any upcoming game release list (and I encourage you to do so), it's safe to say an overwhelming amount of games are mainly about traversal and combat, with some smaller side activities like for example dialogue in there. Now this brings up a single simple question for me: Why is this the case? Are we as game designers "stuck" in this line of thinking and designing, being influenced by history and the... keep reading on reddit ➡

I had covid in april. Had all the symptoms except GI issues. It's been 4 months and I crash and get bed bound from any physical activity. A gentle walk can make me bed bound with fatigue, brain fog and muscle soreness for several days.
I was extremely fit before getting this. Going to the gym constantly and riding my bike every day. Despite blood work looking overwhelmingly normal I am still not back to normal. I've had almost every test out there done and nothing has been found.
I feel like my life is ruined by this fucking infection. Everyone is recovering after a couple of weeks or months but I'm stuck here like an invalid unable to even walk 200 metres before I crash. I hate this shit
I took a deeper look into the unusual option flow from this week and found a few interesting plays. Let’s take a look, shall we?

AMZN – Amazon Inc
A player opened a $47 million dollar bet, short straddle, in AMZN last week. They sold to open 1,000 of each PUT and CALL September 18 contracts at the $3015 strike price to collect a total of $47 million in premium. The player stays profitable if AMZN stays in between a price range of $2,500-$3,500. The closer AMZN stays at $3,000 price after earnings, the morning money the player will keep. This bet looks like they aren’t expecting earnings to move Amazon that much and are trying to capitalize on the premiums from high volatility at the moment.

I need to preface this by clarifying that my wife and I aren’t enthusiasts. She works for the most prestigious art gallery in Canada and I’m an antiquities dealer. Sure I believe that it’s possible that a large mammal has gone undocumented in the vast wilds, be it Neanderthal or an offshoot of our genus, but we have never pursued the subject. We arrived on our remote (Canadian version of remote. The back of our land is 70x70km of dense bush without a single road) island on April 7. We were on a 6-month Cali/Alaska trip but covid hit. We only spent 2 nights here last year because we lived in the Mayan riviera. On one of those two nights, while fishing In the boat just along the shore, something DEMOLISHED some trees just inside the bush line. I grew up in the bush and have never heard anything so violent and powerful. Moose push trees but not in July. So we arrive this year. We have trails connecting the main house, bunker, beach. Something has built a wall of trees across one of our tr... keep reading on reddit ➡
Hi, friends! Are you experiencing a case of the terrible Tuesdays? Let me help you out with terrible tarot!
You might ask, "How does it work?" Simple! Let me pull a card for you. You can get a random reading or you can ask a specific question. If you'd like the stars to choose your fate, simply say "What do the cards have in store for me today?" If you have a specific question, feel free to ask that, too!
I will then give you a terrible tarot reading. In the interest of full disclosure, I have no idea what I am doing and none of this will be accurate. This is just for fun!
I'll be doing this for as long as I can today, so post a comment and may the odds be ever in your favor!
It’s so good. Still heaps of fun!
If Bungie redid the loot pool and maybe changed up some of the encounters it could easily come back and still be relevant.
What’s good on the weekend my fellow autists and degenerates?. Swaggy, the options savant, brings you some unusual option flow from the week. I'll preface today's post by saying that the spreads on these stocks probably aren't great and most likely are "risky" plays. So do your own due diligence if you decide to jump in.
If you want to understand more about option flow, I made this post on reddit to go through some of the basics of how to look at flow. Next week I'll go in detail on how to incorporate different strategies into your trading.
RCII – Rent-A-Center
Spotted some unusual option flow in Rent-A-Center in December 18 CALLs. Player purchased 1,500 CALLs at the $40 strike (33% OTM), stock currently $29.00. Bet size was about $85k and the player is expecting a huge jump in stock price by the end of the year. RCII reports earnings next week August 5th. The strike price w... keep reading on reddit ➡
