Estimated year of realese: I don't know. Pretty sure after 2000

Graphics / art style: Dark and achromatic colors (greyish) sad, depressive. As an OST, there's a very sad music playing on violin (if i am not wrong). 2d, not pixelated, it was smooth and cartoony.

Notable characters: Main character that you play as is a 4-legged, dark grey, spider-like creature. He has a round head and 4 long legs attached to it. The head has big black eye in the middle, and a mouth with 2 fangs at the bottom (like real spiders). Each joint on his legs is light grey ball. At the end of the legs there are 3 or 4 black claws.

Other characters I barely remember.

Notable gameplay mechanics: This is the most important part. Unlike other platformers, you don't move using your keyboard, you have to pick every leg individually and place them foward. You can also use the claws to climb, and grab. In some levels you have to use some of the legs to hold yourself on the wall and others to grab small flying enemies to your mouth to kill it / bite it to death.

Other details: When the game starts, there's a backstory, showing how your wife / gf / maybe a friend, was eaten by a giant monster. It triggers the main character and he goes on revenge. Final levels are inside the monster, and to defeat him you have to rip off the veins attached to his heart. For me, as a kid, it was hard to watch, but I enjoyed it. There are also some levels where you have to rescue your babies (I assume) which are larvas in a ball made of spider web. You have to hold them in your mouth and not lose them.

Hello everyone, I’ve come to this sub in the hopes of finding someone who would be kind enough to help me out.

I’m a first year majoring in Interior Design at my university. We recently got assigned a project on color theory, in which we have to take an image of an interior space and alter the colors depending on several deliverables. For instance one has to be an achromatic color scheme, split complimentary, etc.

My Professor mentioned the best way to complete the project is through photoshop, but I have never used it in my life! I figured out how to access a free CS6 version through my university, but am totally lost.

I’ve looked up several youtube tutorials and It’s not clicking. Can anyone please explain to me how I can alter the color of certain sections of certain images? For instance...a wall and not a floor, a couch and not a pillow.

The composition of the image “The Walls of Knowledge” is a dynamic, open, hierarchically composed picture. The dominant lines in the picture, exemplified by the bolts of magic and the bookshelves are more often than not organic lines. The few static lines in the picture, going horizontally and vertically are broken by more dynamic lines. Furthermore, the sightlines of the characters can appear to point towards an object not necessarily in the POV of the viewer, and continuing the pattern past the picture, thereby confirming the picture as having an open composition. The hierarchically composition of the image comes from the three characters in the picture, and Twilight in particular. The different color of Twilight and Spike being bright purple in contrast to the either cool blue, book brown, or marbled red means that the eye of the beholder is drawn towards the two characters in the left of the picture

Furthermore, the Golden Ratio (1:1.618…) is also at work here. The vast majority of Twilight’s body, save for the legs is along the Golden Ratio with her head being right in the middle of it. Spike's head, parchment and quill also lie along the line, with it going through his mouth and parchment. The windows in the background also lie almost perfectly along the two lines of the golden ratio (see fig. 1) While parts of the image may appear symmetrical at first glance, the fact remains that the picture as a whole is not. This is due to the angle that the picture is drawn/painted at, as it is angled too far to the left to be symmetrical along with Twilight, Spike, Owliwiscious taking up an amount of space, and due to their established information are not available for symmetrics. Individual places in the picture, however are symmetrical along their own axis. As an example, the bookshelf on the second floor to the left of the picture is symmetrical along its own axis.

According to this study, the favorite color of men is blue. 57% of male preferred blue as their favorite color over other.

Surprisingly, the 35% of women also chose blue as their favorite color.

This is the palette I have so far, for reference I have yellow undertones and ~navy blue hair, naturally dark brown and planning to grow out the natural brown. My wardrobe has been one of my biggest obstacles (along with art supplies) and I'm finally ready to tackle it. But I love dressing colorfully! So I don't want to have all black and white as seems to be very popular with minimalists.

Does anyone else have a very small but colorful wardrobe? How do you make sure pieces will all work together? Do you get tired of your color palette?

I have an eye disease called Achromatopsia. It means that I'm missing all my cones so I can't see any color. I have been my whole life. I'm told I see in shade of gray, but I have no concept of color, so I can't confirm that definitively. I also have a loss of acuity, extreme photo sensitivity, and nystagmus as a result of Achromatopsia. Please note that not everyone who is "color blind" has Achromatopsia, so my information won't be true to everyone you meet.

It is much more rare for females to suffer from any corm of colorblindness, especially if their mother doesn't. Mine doesn't.

Other things you may want to know are these: I'm a 24 year old aspiring doll maker. I'm married to a "normally sighted" man. One of my three brothers also has Achromatopsia, the other two have no disability to speak of.

Questions I'm most ofter asked: Can you see my fingers? Yes, get them out of my face. How do you match your clothes? I always wear black pants or jeans, anything matches them. I do memorize the colors of my clothes and I know enough about the color wheel to make it work, in theory. Can you drive: I'm working on learning how to with a special optical setup.

Yes I'm totally stealing this idea from silverhythm's thread about being blind. he's a friend of mine though, so I think he'll be ok with it. Besides I sometimes find that people have more questions for someone with colorblindness than someone whose totally blind. I don't know why that is.

I’ve been looking into different types of color blindness as a sort of hobby research, but it’s hard to get answers on specific questions I have because color blindness has so many variants and little variants within variants.

That being said, I saw this diagram to show how people with different deficiencies would see colors, and one of the bars said "blue cone monochromacy/Achromatomaly"

Previously, I was under the impression that achromatomaly is just regular colors but dimmed down (on varying levels depending on the person), and they can see in the light normally. I tried to find more about the three types of cone monochromacy, but it all seemed quite complicated to me. What I gathered, though, is that people with full monochromacy or one of the cone types have photophobia and problems with seeing in bright light, but other places say it’s just the color vision that’s the issue. I can’t find Anything about the red/green/blue cone monochromacy types compared to eachother in a chart like this, so does anyone know the differences?

Like I said, I guess it varies from person to person. For example, could someone have such severe Achromatomaly that they can only see very bright and saturated neon colors, but their light vision is completely normal? I’m open to literally any and all bits of info on this. Maybe it’s just me and I severely misunderstood what info I read. Thanks for the help :)

That's right - Kaldheim brings the return of Snow-covered lands in a Standard-legal set for the first time since Twitter was first launched. The last time Snow-covered lands were printed in a Standard-legal set, Kjetil André Aamodt became the first male alpine skier to take 4 gold medals at the Winter Olympics held in Turin, IT (2006).

With only 13 12 colorless ([[Colossal Plow]] produces white!) non-land cards, what Kaldheim lacks in achromatic artifacts it makes up for in spades with landscapes. Chromas: So as you may or may not know, Katarina is getting a legendary skin. With multiple takedowns, she can acquire multiple daggers that completely change the VFX colors of her particle effects and it's absolutely beautiful, however her base model doesn't change colors with the daggers which can make the visual model seem really out of place and really pulls away from the color changes of the daggers and feels a incohesive because of it. To fix this, I actually suggest something more simple than her skin swapping colors in game. RIOT should add a neutral chroma (or a few) to select from that actually don't have base color themes to it other than the daggers. I would say 1-2 achromatic (black and white or grey scale) chromas is all this skin needs to make color swapping actually that much more impactful. Suggestions are as simple as one with white hair and achromatic and one with black hair and achromatic and that whole issue is solved and then people can get the other colored chromas if they want but I think it's very important that if her model doesn't change colors, then her chromas should definitely have an option for people who find that incohesive colors a problem.

Model: The other issue I'd like to touch on is her model itself. The skin overall is beautiful, but it's VERY visually noisy. The biggest complaint I'm seeing is just how big Kat feels in this skin and tbh they're right, she looks so huge and there's just too much going on. For example, the ruffles on her arm sleeves are so cute, but they are massive and honestly make her arm look like it's a part of her dagger. Additionally, the backing of her outfit (the 2 pointy protrusions) are way too big and stand out way too much and when you combine that with the 2 side protrusions, it all feels like and overwhelmingly cluttered design. Not only is it way too big, but it also adds an entire mass to her silhouette which is usually not done even for riot. I would say the sizes of these need to be toned down because she feels just absolutely massive and clunky in this cu

However, in my opinion getting an excellent telescope late is much better than getting a mediocre or bad telescope now. A lot of the telescopes currently available new are absolute rubbish.

So you've done the right thing. You've come to the subreddit to ask for help and do your research, you've read the sticky, and you know the best telescope to go for is a Dobsonian or a tabletop reflector. You go online to search for one, and realize they're all sold out or on back-order, and none will ship before Christmas. Indeed, many won't even ship before Valentine's Day.

Your next instinct might be to go for another telescope, one which is available still. This is understandable, but I would caution you away from this. Instead, look to the used market. Lots of people are selling their old telescopes, and sometimes they're selling actually... good ones. The advice, even for used, is to look for a tabletop reflector or a Dobsonian, but you can often find good deals on telescopes with other mounts.

We often say that these tabletop telescopes are the best, maybe even only good options. But in a lot of the world, telescope options are much more limited. I helped a friend in Chile pick out a telescope among limited options, and there it becomes a different story.

The reason we say tabletop reflectors and dobsonians are the best is due to the bang for your buck. But if you need to pay hundreds of dollars to import, that becomes less true, and other options can be better. Here's what you should look for in a used telescope:

Aperture

If all you want to do is look for the rings of saturn and craters on the moon, you don't need a large telescope to do it. A 50mm long-tube refractor can do it easily with the right eyepieces. But if you want to observe deep sky objects or actual detail on planets, 80mm is the minimum.

Focal Length

If you're buying a refractor (using lenses), then you must get a telescope with a longer focal length (if you want to see planets and lunar detail). Longer focal length means the telescope is more "zoomed in," but more importantly, in a refractor, a longer focal length reduces "chromatic aberration," or false-color fringing. The ratio of the focal length to the aperture (the "focal ratio") should be no less than 8, ideally around 10-15 for planets. For example, at f/

Jack Vance was a writer in the “Dying Earth” subgenre of science fantasy, which depicts futures so far removed from our own that they feel more removed in space than time. Clark Ashton Smith’s world of Zothique was his biggest inspiration, as Vance’s own Dying Earth shares its blood-red sun, unrecognizable geography, and cultures both advanced and regressed. Yet while Smith drew from ancient, if exotic, mythologies of Greece and Asia, Vance was influenced chiefly by science fiction, emphasizing the alien over the familiar— and the “Dying” over the “Earth.”

The first entry, The Dying Earth is a short story collection that feels like a sales pitch for his vision. The six stories it contains are unrelated in plot, though each is artfully linked to the previous one by an allusion to its protagonist. These characters are easy to remember because they are among the few human inhabitants of a planetwide wilderness. They stroll through sunlit forests and verdant gardens, only to be waylaid by vicious cannibals, cruel sorcerers, and extradimensional demons.

These startling dangers are just one manner in which Vance pierces his setting’s veil of beauty and languor. A philosophy of hedonism and egoism prevails over what remains of civilization. Powerless to prevent the burning out of the sun and the endless night that will follow, sorcerer-scientists indulge in frivolous projects, worshippers venerate improbable gods, and highwaymen and mountebanks plunder and swindle with abandon.

The hero (in the very loosest sense of the word) of the next two novels, Cugel the Clever, falls in this last category. In the pantheon of classic fantasy, alongside Conan the barbarian hero and Gandalf the mentor wizard, Cugel is enthroned as the wily trickster god, the definitive example of his archetype.

The composition of the image “The Walls of Knowledge” is a dynamic, open, hierarchically composed picture. The dominant lines in the picture, exemplified by the bolts of magic and the bookshelves are more often than not organic lines. The few static lines in the picture, going horizontally and vertically are broken by more dynamic lines. Furthermore, the sightlines of the characters can appear to point towards an object not necessarily in the POV of the viewer, and continuing the pattern past the picture, thereby confirming the picture as having an open composition. The hierarchically composition of the image comes from the three characters in the picture, and Twilight in particular. The different color of Twilight and Spike being bright purple in contrast to the either cool blue, book brown, or marbled red means that the eye of the beholder is drawn towards the two characters in the left of the picture

Furthermore, the Golden Ratio (1:1.618…) is also at work here. The vast majority of Twilight’s body, save for the legs is along the Golden Ratio with her head being right in the middle of it.
