Hey, fellow CK3 fanatic and Ethiopian here, I absolutely love getting into the game starting in Abyssinia, restoring the mighty Empire, ruling over Nubia, the horn, moving into Egypt, invading Yemen, I mean converting a majority Islamic portion of the world to Coptic is pretty exciting with the many obstacles and challenges the region poses.
However, I just can't get over it, the Ethiopians don't wear traditional clothing and garments that were native to the region. I hope that in an update we may see the mighty Negusa Negast don a Kaba, the knights in their lion maned hats and long white robes. I do feel as currently, Ethiopia is to an extent being robbed of its cultural liberty in regards to representation, one of the few Empires you can found in the game is Abyssinia, and yet the Abyssinians don't even dress accordingly. I do understand with such a deep-rooted connection to the middle eastern/Mediterranean world why they settled for the current regional garbs to match, but ultimately, it's inaccurate and misrepresentative. Hope someone on the CK3 team catches this and that we may just get to see it! If you're curious about what I may be referring to here are some links.
Just a taste of the unique Ethiopian garments, of course there is so many other countless photos, but I hop... keep reading on reddit ➡
Where did you get yours?
I had an Abyssinian that I got when I lived in Texas. Unfortunately he was hit by a car a while back. I was thinking it might be time to get a new companion, but it seems like no one is breeding, or they are but have a huge waitlist. I’m not looking for a cat tomorrow, but don’t want to wait until 2022. Can anyone point me in a reasonable direction?
What did the early Indian, Chinese and Abyssinian sources say about Islam?
