Tips for Calculus and Vectors ?

starting Calc on Wednesday and i was wondering if anyone who took it already has any tips? I didn’t do too well in adv functions last sem due to personal reasons so my uni applications are really depending on this class.

Wtaf is vector calculus, first year of engineering and we pretty much learnt all of the maths within the first term so it’s quite over whelming then we learn the whole of first year vector calculus within a week pretty much

Any good YouTube playlists that anyone used

[Calculus 3] Finding a unit vector perpendicular to the graph f(x) = sin(x) at x = π/4 - Where am I going wrong?

We're asked to find a unit vector V that is perpendicular to the graph f(x) = sin(x), at the point x = π/4 (in component form).

We went over a similar question in class but it was using the graph x^2 and the sin(x) function is really confusing me for some reason.

Would the first step to be to take the derivative, which is cos(x), and then find the slope of the point @ x = π/4, which is √2/2? I know that's the slope of the tangent line, which I need to then rotate 90^o , place at the origin, and then use the unit vector rule - (1/||V||) * V - to make it's magnitude 1. So I guess I know all the steps but I'm getting lost at how to connect everything haha.

I did find this khanacademy lesson doing the exact same problem but they're using completely different vector notation than what we use in class, and I don't understand how to interpret it. I'm mainly getting confused at Step 1; how are they getting [1, cos(x)], where is the 1 coming from?

Thank you for any help! I really appreciate it.

Calculus and Vectors in the quadmester system

I dropped C&V in quad 3 and I will be taking it in quad 4 along with another course.

In a regular school year, we would take calculus in one term and vectors in another term in a semester.

In this whole quadmester system, am I taking both these topics in one quadmester or am I going to take calculus in one quadmester and vectors in one quadmester?

I still got a class welcome message in my c&v class and it made me think, what if I’m taking calculus in quad 3 and vectors in quad 4.

I’ve already made adjustments with my guidance councillor that I’ll be having chemistry with a spare (that used to have c&v) and I’m messaging my c&v teacher that I’ve dropped from his class and will be taking it in quad 4.

Where does Calculus go after Calc III (Vector Calculus/Vector Analysis) and Diff EQ?

I'm taking Calc III during the Winter term at my CC (it transfers to my UNI) and I'm taking Diff EQ next quarter. Just wondering if I were a math major with a focus on calculus what would I take after that?

Best physics textbooks using vector calculus?

What are some particularly good physics textbooks that make extensive use of vector calculus? I'm especially interested in classical mechanics and electromagnetism, and I think these topics even inspired the development of vector calculus, but I've only studied these topics using less advanced math.

[University Vector Calculus] Line of best fit in 3d

So I've been working on a program. In this program I get an array of floats(floating point numbers) representing the z-axis. I need to use this array of z points to get the angle and direction of a line of best fit. I've been butting up against this problem for about a week now. I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding the math proofs behind it. Any help in understanding or logic-ing it out would be helpful. I've tried googling some ideas but most of it doesn't seem helpful, again it could just be misunderstanding.

PS. This is for a personal project for fun, not acctuly class work or homework.
