Iβm trying to find Spanish language books, written in Spanish, that are coming out right now, capturing the zeitgeist, you know? But anytime I google these sorts of questions I get all-time best Spanish language sellers in Anglo-speaking markets like Don Quixote or the Spanish translation of Harry Potter π. So my question is, is there a weekly/monthly/annual book recommendation site in Spain that is equivalent to the NYT Best seller list, or like the Booker prize or the Independent best books of 2020 or even a Goodreads top books of 2020? Any opinions welcome!
It seems like everyone nowadays is a NY Times Best Seller, and every book is a NY Times Best Seller.
I have actually started to avoid any book that is labeled with this pointless achievement.
I think part of the reason is that they update the list on a weekly basis, and they have like a billion genre, so any book is bound to make the list in one of the genres at least once.
So my question is: what do you think of The New York Times Best Seller List, and does it affect your decision to buy a book?
How do they tabulate it, exactly? The direct question is does anyone think FIND ME will make it on their list? If the book would appear on their list, wouldn't it be in another week or two? It's been hyped quite a bit and has a fan base, whose going to go out and buy it instantly. Well, I already read the Kindle sample and can wait a week or so. I couldn't imagine FIND ME staying long on the best seller's list given the reviews it's gotten plus the best seller's list seems rather dominated by popular and prolific writers. I was going to add "and low brow" but I don't want to come across as a book snob.
