Hey guys! So basically the title says it all. I have been debating with myself for years over this decision, but I am ready now.
So I come from a pretty traditional Tamil Hindu family. Was born and raised in the USA though, so I was surrounded by many Sikhs where I grew up in Virginia. Their way of life and philosophies just absolutely rubbed off on me and I did some more research and I just really fell in love with the ideology.
How you are not to discriminate against others based on arbitrary things such caste, skin color or religion.
So yeah basically I am just really looking for any sort of guidance now because I don’t know where to start. I know that conversions as defined in other religions don’t really exist in Sikhi, but I would appreciate some guidance in the right directions as to where I could start. Any tips? Prayers? Burning at all would be appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: hahaha in my last sentence I said “burning” my autocorrect is so annoying. I meant to say “anything”
He mentions some historic rape cases at first:
>>! Now go and whine on twitter about how my brahmanical ancestors [email protected] your women thousands of years ago. !<
>>! Fact is that even in the 21st century, Tamil women serve as sex slaves for Sinhalese men.!<
Then he goes into full beast mode and talks highly of his uncle who raped Tamil woman and says he wishes to see more videos of rapes, implying that he already watched some.
>>! Hope I get to watch more documentaries on youtube about Tamil women being gangraped by Sinhalese army. Incidentally, my uncle also worked in the Indian army, and he fcked several of your women in 1986. Keep crying, cave dwelling onge monkey. !<
>>! The Tamil women whom my uncle tasted back in Sri Lanka back in '86 along with the Sinhalese was also great !<
>>! Keep wanking to Rajapaksa brothers deepthroating your women lol. !<
>>! Did you know that the Sinhalese are closely related to Bengalis? I hope I can see more Krishanti Kumaraswamys being raped to death by our own sinhalese brothers lol. !<
>>! Your women serve as rape-tools in jaffna for their army. Proud Thamixha cuck master race lmao !<
Surprisingly, he goes against the love-jihad canard and mentions how there are organizations (that he associates with - he says "our") that convert Muslim women to Hinduism to marry them
>>! Our organizations like Singha Bahini regularly convert Muslim women to Hinduism and marry them to Bengali Hindu men. !<
But within a day, he goes back to the love-jihad canard and starts whining about nsfw subreddits where Hindu women are portrayed as being screwed by Muslim men, saying "this is how they think of our women." even though he was just talking about watching tamil hindu women being raped.
In the comments, there are Chodes demanding that th... keep reading on reddit ➡
Vanakkam, I am a huge fan of Tamil songs. I want to learn and understand Tamil. I know at least 20-30% tamil words and very basic sentences. All learn tamil books start with basic words with very little emphasis on grammar and sentence formation...and I'm not progressing as much. I tried but there are no Tamilians to help me where I live.
I want to learn spoken tamil and basic grammar, what are the resources you suggest. I'm open to watching videos, movies, etc.
Thanks in advance everyone!
Bakchods, counting of votes will start from 8 AM onwards on 2nd of May for the assembly elections held in West Bengal, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
I am an Indian Tamil living abroad in Germany for the last four years. I plan to settle down back home in India after working my ass off here and saving enough money to an early retirement.
So, I am naturally very interested in Tamilnadu's politics.
The last election local elections (2 months back) was a surprising one for us since the NTK (Naan Tamilar Katchi or 'We are Tamils' party) became the third largest party in the state. The party is directly/indirectly funded by various Srilankan Tamil groups who have settled abroad. The party stands for Tamil Nationalism (borderline fascism) and wants only a ethnic Tamil to be the ruler of the state (They claim that speaking Tamil doesn't make you Tamil enough. So, what makes you Tamil - they don't have any answer for it).
Furthermore, they claim that Prabhakaran is their ultimate leader and even go on to claim that Prabhakaran is the leader of all Tamils living in the world. Which is crazy given that Prabhakaran hardly represented 5% of the overall Tamil population.
This NTK party claims that the DMK (current ruling party in Tamilnadu) is responsible for the Srilankan Civil War (since they didn't do enough to pressurize India) - which itself is crazy. And this party is slowly incorporating these fringe ideas into the brains of Tamilnadu's Youth who now think that Prabhakaran was a great guy.
Most 50+ Srilankan Tamils I meet in Germany support this NTK party and want their leader to become the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu.
I mean like, wow. You guys came here and are citizens of this country and somehow you send money and support a borderline-fascist in a state in a country where you have never lived? Why?!
I mean, why!
You are not interested in German Politics nor in Srilankan Politics but will willingly fund a party in India who openly supports somehow who ordered the killing of India's Prime Minister?
What kind a mentality is this?! I just don't understand.
20% cases are coming from Tamil Nadu. It breaks my heart to see my favorite touring destination facing the burnt of corona virus.
If I'm not wrong, tamil nadu also had high cases in the first wave too. Despite having strict lockdown, restrictions it's puzzling to see high cases in Tamil Nadu. I hope Tamil Nadu recovers soon.

I encountered a dude in the India subreddit. dude seems to be very very separatist in nature. What would be a good way to approach such scum. He claims tamil voters are better than the "avg Indian voter". Is avoidance the best way to go about it? Donate knowledge thank you very much
Most women (atleast 80%) doesn't seem to have the right to choose their partner as well as their career. Many urban women are going to work and chosing the partner, I agree with that but majority of the time it's not the case.
It seems that we are not in 1990s of USA. Lol even in 1940s, women in USA seem to have more rights than here. Please don't come up with "We have 33% reservation, We gave women the right to vote etc". Even that seems to be not helping. Girl here, atleast 80% of the time even in urban areas seems to be a commodity (Ponnu porandha epo Kalyanam pananum daan yosikaranga, don't even think a pinch about career, Rural sides even worse)
I don't know this is the right sub but not sure where else I can post. Disclaimer: this is an extremely sensitive topic with no right or perfect answers.
Srilankan civil war is one topic which I couldn't discuss with anyone across the world. Most people don't know and don't care and just love Sri Lanka so much they don't want to look deep into the issues. Among Indians, I couldn't talk to anyone about this openly as ltte assassinated an Indian PM and it meant anyone having alternate views are terrorists sympathizers. Also being be Tamilians my views were always considered biased.
Coming to the topic, Sri Lankan treatment of Tamils since the 50s were atrocious and every decade the violence always erupted. Especially countries like India where the freedom struggle and win was relatively violence free, we always feel everyone should take the non violence route without knowing the ground realities of ethnocide, genocide which happens across the world. LTTE was the organization which had army, naval and air borne units to fight the SL nation and wanted a piece of the country as their own where they aren't governed by the oppressive govt. Ltte is known to have targeted civilians and used child and women soldiers and suicide bombers so much they were designated as terror organization by 30 odd countries including India. SL army is accused of systematic torture, rape, bombing and ethno cleansing of the tamils in the region and has repeatedly refused any independent investigation on these claims. India sent its peace corp to SL too in the late 80s and reports of rape, torture and war crimes were allegedly committed by them too.
Obviously I am not asking we take sides of LTTE or SL here, but we can still look at the conflict in neutral eye and see violent uprising is sometimes an inevitable consequence in most civil wars. Whether a Gandhi will be born out of conflict or a Che Guevara is something no one can predict. We can create various best case scenarios of how the tamils should have handled it better at the comfort of our homes but on ground realties are unimaginable. Of course, this applies to the kashmir conflict, taliban, Vietnam War, afghan war, Korean War etc as well. We can all chose one side for the greater good and larger peace at the expense of the lives of the smaller group.
The Civil War ended in 2009 with the SL army taking control of all the regions. We saw horrifying images of atrocious violence from both sides. We saw the army executing kid... keep reading on reddit ➡
