I keep seeing the players' decision not to play described as a boycott but it's not. The players are engaging in a strike (possibly a wildcat strike if there wasn't prior NBPA permission). As for its effectiveness that remains to be seen, but within 15 minutes there were already 240k tweets about the bucks. At the minimum, it's drawing attention back to what the players feel matters
EDIT: instead of gilding this donate the money to your local bail, medic, or mutual aid fund
I just keep hearing about how awful Blizzard is to their employees, and it's obviously resulting in a pretty mediocre gaming experience.
I get that there are a few people out there who have made careers out of playing wow, and a lot of passionate people who have made it a big part of their life. But I wonder if part of the reason Blizz employees dont strike is because they'd feel guilty for hurting the consumer.
I personally would not mind a lapse in WoW's availability, if it meant it could come back months later as a much more satisfying experience.
Edit: As many people have pointed out, unionizing would need to be a big part of this, and I agree.
I also recognize that with the world in the state that it's in, people do not want to risk their jobs. I agree with that as well. This may not be the right time for workers to try and demand more, but I still think that it's something they should fight for in the future.
Final Edit: I really appreciate all the discussion that came from this. I learned a lot and I appreciate people who came forward with some points that I hadn't considered. Some people were nasty, which isn't surprising, but it's still a shame.
I just want to see WoW improve in a lot of ways, the same as I think many of us do. Would a strike be the best way? Maybe not. But I wonder if there's any way to get Blizz executives to stop destroying a game we all love.
Also.. the amount of anti union people here seriously surprised me. I wonder if any of you have worked at a job with a union and have had the chance to see what that's like. It's sad to see so many people falling for corporate propaganda. You really don't know what's good for you.
So, I'm 36F. My husband is 38M and we have been together 14 years. Our kids are 15M, 14F and 11M. Up until about 2 years ago my kids all had chores that they did daily but of course with them getting older, it became more of a chore for myself when trying to get them to do anything to help me out so I stopped asking. So, that's what makes me an AH, I think.
Anyways, my husband hardly ever lifts a finger when it comes to house work. He doesnt cook, clean or even take the trash out anymore. He used to all the time.
So, I hit a breaking point one day when I came home after a weekend business trip with work to a completely in shambles house. There were dirty dishes scattered and placed in various corners of my home, trash wasnt taken out, laundry was spewing over the top of our hamper, toothpaste lining the sink, etc. You get the point. I grabbed myself a nice tall glass of Crown Royal and went to my backyard, where I proceeded to sit and do nothing.
My husband and kids returned home a few hrs later and I chuckled to myself as they stop dead in the doorway, look at the mess and then back at me. My husband says "Hunny, I have my boss coming for dinner tonight. Did you forget?" So I said, "Nope, what are you making for dinner?" He just sort of looked at me but I think he realized what was going on and went in to start cooking dinner. My daughter lost it. Shes like "How am I supposed to have my boyfriend come over to a house looking like this?" So I said "Hmm, good question. Maybe you should cancel." My oldest son (bless his heart) said "Melanie, we can easily clean the house. It's obvious that mum needs a break". He went in and cleaned the entire house but not in time for my husband's boss to show up and see our home in disarray. My daughters boyfriend also saw the house in shambles and looked disgusted. My daughter started crying and saying I embarrassed her and she will never forgive me.
AITA? I think maybe, because it was petty and bad timing but I was tired of not being helped.

>Last week, the Milwaukee Bucks put the spotlight squarely on the Wisconsin State Assembly. By going on strike and refusing to play Game 5 of their series against the Orlando Magic, the Bucks led the charge in bringing the world of sports to a halt and focusing on the inaction of the state legislature. A special session was called for by Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, and both houses (as expected) responded the same way: doing nothing.
>This is not new, either. The Republican-led legislature has responded to the call for action with naught but impotence and cowardice before. In November 2019, when the Governor called for action on gun legislation, the legislature did nothing. In April 2020, when the Governor called for action on the coronavirus pandemic, the legislature did nothing. And now, in August 2020, when the Governor called for action on police reform, the legislature is doing nothing. When might they do something? Well, if you listen to Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke, maybe...sometime next year?

That is the bare minimum we should expect with ALL new strikes going forward including the returning D1 strikes. The fact that we didn't even get an emblem for Broodhold, Festering Core and Scarlet Keep really bugged me let alone not having a loot drop. I mean shit with Will of Crota and Fallen S.A.B.E.R you could just reskin Grasp of Malok and [Baron's Ambition] (https://destiny.fandom.com/wiki/Baron%27s_Ambition) and I highly doubt anyone most people would mind. Strikes don't get enough love in general but I remember when Shadowkeep came out being so excited to grind the new nightfalls for the new emblem and loot and I was so let down to see there was neither.
Edit 1: While I agree that general strike specific loot would be preferable I think its more realistic to expect them to stick with a formula they have already established in the game.
Edit 2: First off I didn't expect this to get so much traction and thanks for the awards! I want to address some of peoples frustrations about the unconfirmed amount of strikes this year. I don't think 1 redacted is enough for people to say with certainty we are only getting 1 new strike with this dlc. But even if we do with 1 new the 3 reissued strikes from D1 being spread out across the year that equals out to the same amount of strikes we got with Forsaken, if you were on PS4. I want more new stuff as much as the rest of you but I think it's still important to think about.
An Irish cannabis grower who is up in court on the 22nd of September for growing his own cannabis has said he will go on hunger strike if given a prison sentence.
John O Regan (56) has only ever been in trouble with the law for his own personal cannabis use. He has also engaged with politicians to see the plant legalised here but had no luck. He is also trying to set up a cannabis legalisation political party and he remains hopefull that this might happen.

I honestly think it may be the action required to get the government to do something about the targeting of deliveroo cyclists around the city centre
It would cost the economy hundreds of thousands euro in lost revenue if they did it for just one weekend
Thanks for coming back for my clumsy self =]
> What does an NBA players strike accomplish? Itβs action. Itβs sacrificing professional goals for a life-or-death conversation. Itβs forcing people to listen. Itβs shoving people out of their comfort and complacency. Itβs a build up of grief and rage, released powerfully.

Hello all! Long time lurker first time poster. I wanted to share a stream I did a few weeks ago on how I take video reference and use it to animate! Thank you all for playing and I hope you enjoy
Was trying to play through strike to get new exotic and noticed that the room with the code on one wall and what looks like an ice thaw on the other has a reflection that shows what looks like code? Has this been discussed previously itβs my first time seeing it.
I think some people forget along with strike loot
Cryptarch grinding felt better imo
Vanguard grinding felt better imo
Faction grinding was a thing
Gun leveling was a thing
Youβd be able to play strikes all day and get packages every now and then, with your exotic class items, leveling up weapons you got, with a chance to get some pretty sick random rolled strike specifics
We donβt really have much of that in D2
Edit: Gun leveling seems split between people, but I agee with the majority that in D1 it was a pain, it would take so long, and require so much, I still hop on D1 and see a lot of guns not leveled. However I do miss the feeling of progression it gave me, and wish there was something, anything to work on via using the gun that gave patrols/bounties/strike running more of a purpose
