[OC] Over the past year or so I've been working on a FREE VTT and mapmaking software. I'm wrapping up finishing touches on some new features, such as lighting, fog, and line of sight. Check it out!

Hello!

Please check out this short preview of Realm Engine 1.06! It was backbreaking work, but I've finally pounded out a few features that I felt I had to show off. We've also just added a first-person mode so you can walk around your scenes in first person! Might seem odd, but it's rather satisfying to see your builds come to life from that perspective.

Realm Engine is currently available on steam! Keep in mind this software is still early access, so not every feature is ironed out yet, but it's got just about everything you'd want; Easy-to-use building sets, terrain tools, lighting effects, fog-of-war, animated tokens, spell effects, in-game dice rolling, you name it.

The next feature we're working on is proper Multiplayer integration. Currently, to reduce volume, we are allowing beta testing forour followers on Patreon. However, in the future it will be made available for everyone. It's still very experimental, but we'll be hosting a couple demo sessions on our Twitch soon.

The most useful software feature that Oculus has yet to implement?

In my opinion it’s app organization. Folders or categories. Just give us something to organize. I have 117 apps on my Quest 2 and I often forget about some because they are so far down. Or I just want to work out for a quick 20 minutes and my work out apps are all spread out.

Anyone else have any ideas for useful software changes?

I’d also add that we should be able to move around the oculus home with the thumb stick.

Some features to improve in the metrics section of the Adrenalin Software after the latest update

Hi, I like a lot the improvements in the metrics area. Still they need some adjustments to fully retire the use of HWINFO+RIVA. I dunno if some of these stuff actually can be done but I didn't sort it out:

PD: BTW where do you think we can send these "ideas/issues" directly to AMD? primarly to solve the CPU issue with the overlay.

1. It's great to see that they add the CPU Temperature, yet for some reason is not there when it comes to the OVERLAY while playing.
2. Also it would be MORE THAN GREAT to add CPU clocks and the CPU fans% and RPM.
3. Adding VRAM temp, to the already pretty much spot on metrics in the GPU section would be fantastic.
4. If Spanish is the chosen language, in the RAM section, to enable or not this setting, the label appears as "utilización de VRAM" , is clearly a typo that in fact doesn't affect the functionality and it's labelled correctly as mere RAM in the Metrics Panel within Adrenalin and in the Overlay.

With these adittions, I would not use any other third party software to control my metrics while playing, bar some very specific stuff.

Why is it that every console generation we lose features that were available on the system software?

Back in ps3 we had the ability to delete game updates (that is just one that i remember, im sure that were other ones)

On the ps4 we had the ability to export game saves to USB storage. And im not even going to mention themes and a dedicated Messages button (which i had to go and Google how to send one on ps5, thats so stupid).

And now the ps5 software is just missing so much stuff. And simple obvious stuff, that makes no sense not being there.

I just noticed i was missing Days Gone from my homescreen and i was sure i had it installed. The home screen only shows your most recent used or installed itens.

Back on ps4 we had the option to limit the itens that appeared on screen or to have them all show up. Nothing like that here. I have to go through hoops and search for it on the library or ps store and start it from there.

What if i want to free some space on my hdd and dont recall which games i have installed? I shouldnt to have to go to the library and do it from there.

And we dont even know if they are even going to implement those options that seem so obvious that they should be available, they were there on the previous generation, they should Add features not remove them.

What features does my ZK software need to have to facilitate doing knowledge work in the field of engineering?

Hi,

I'm super close to finding ZK software that suits my needs. However, I've just realized that I'll do engineering next year in college, so I'll be dealing with subjects such as math, geometry, chemistry, and physics. As a side note, I don't know what career to pursue yet, so I'm only mentioning the previous subjects because I think they are in all engineering careers, although I may be wrong.

My question is: What should I look for in a ZK software to be able to see in the editor things necessary for those subjects, such as geometric figures, formulas, molecules, etc? E.g., say I wanted to add some mathematical equation like lim_{x \to \infty}x=\infty to a note for whatever reason. What should the program have or be able to do to display said formula? The same goes for molecules and the like.

I'm not interested in an image-capturing solution. An image can't be so updated so easily or quickly, but something like the previous equation can be edited at any time without any complications and fast.

Feature request: change the order of loading software when starting up the car (M3)

I regularly go and re-park my car. I have pin to drive activated, and everytime I enter the car and try to enter my pin on the screen after pulling the drive stalk there's a huge delay (10-15s) before it responds to input. Consequently my colleauges in their ICE cars will drive off and repark before I'm able to, even though they drive last century's technology. This is a minor annoyance I've had everytime getting into the car but I don't want to disable pin to drive for safety reasons. Please make the part of the software managing user input for pin to drive load before music, nav and other apps. M3 LR AWD Dec'19 HW3.

Does Garmin generally release new software features to older watches?

The new Venu 2 has a lot of new software features alongside the new optical sensor. New algorithms for sleep (including a score) and body battery. The Venu 2 also gives back HRV values, wheras previous models only use this value to calculate stuff like body battery.

I myself have a vivoactive 4. What are the chances of it getting the new algorithms for sleep and body battery, aswell as giving out HRV?

Save systems are gameplay, not software features. Let's discuss different save systems and beautiful moments we had with them.

Yesterday topic with people demanding every game to allow them to save everywhere and aggressively downvoting opposite opinions was the most depressing thing i have read in this particular sub ever (And i had read dozens of threads claiming Horizon Zero Dawn is the best game in history).

Personally i see save systems as integral part of the gameplay. This are the rules conceived by developers to create a specific experience for a player. I'm fine with the idea of saving your game anytime you want, but i also like when designers come up with something different and more restrictive.

I also think it would be strange, for example, to demand every game to have a double jump. It would be even stranger to propose a double jump to be an option it the settings menu (in case so called hardcore players without any kids and responsibilities want to waste their time with this silly short jumps). So the idea of universal saving systems across all games is perplexing to me.

While physics rules control the movement of the character, saving rules control the movement of the game itself. So, in my opinion, the more diverse save systems are the better. I want games with different rules and different flows.

Throughout my gaming life i enjoyed a variety of save systems and different stories they create. I will share two from the top of my head.

I. Fallout 2.

Fallout allows you to save any time you want. Even during combat. So as a kid playing the game i was save scumming like a madman. I liked the ability to experiment with different situations, but i also was trying to steal everything valuable there is.

So in the second game there is a famous random encounter called Cafe Of Broken Dreams - a weird 4th wall breaking place lost in time and space where avatar models from the first game hang out. So when i entered it i almost immediately started searching other people pockets. Get caught and reloaded as usual.

But then the women i was trying to steal from, started talking about her past being a game character model:

>"I was being run by a stealth character, I think. He kept trying to steal from everyone...it worked. MOST of the time. But boy, when it didn't... I've never seen so many saves and reloads in my life. Sheesh. Give me a combat boy any day."

This completely blew my mind. I started stealing less after this and from this moment tried to be more respons

What software features from the new flagships are you hoping gets ported over to the Xperia 5 and 1 Mark 2

Considering that when the Xperia 5 Mark 2 came out some of its primary features got ported over to the Xperia 1 mark 2.

I wonder what features from the new flagships will get ported over to the five Mark II or even the one mark two? I would love for that 3D spatial audio feature to get ported over being able to listen to any track on any player and have it convert to 3D audio instantly would be amazing.

That's the personal feature I'm hoping would Port over and come to the five Mark II device. Otherwise, I might have to sell this bad boy just to end up getting the new one that would be foolish but the five Mark II is no slouch so I dunno hahaha.

What software features are you guys hoping gets ported over? Obviously the hardware features can't get ported over but the software ones definitely can.
